We have made our first and last visit to Hugh White Honda for sales or service! The service department here lacks in ethics and quality. My wife took our 2015 Honda Odyssey here on 10/13/25 for an oil change and front brake repair. She took 2 coupons with her from the Hugh White web site. One coupon was for a $69.95 Oil Change and the other for $389.99 Brake Pad Replacement. 1. The Oil Change was completed satisfactorily at a price of $86.60 2. The Front Brake issue was diagnosed, but not repaired. 3. A supposed issue was diagnosed with the back brakes and my wife was talked in to having the repair done at a price of $701.93. 4. And because my wife is a little gullible when it comes to automobile repairs, she was convinced to have a completely unnecessary Transmission Fluid Flush at a price of only $477.88. Misleading Advertising led to an unfortunate experience. See attached as a reference. The sales person we worked with was kind, considerate and professional. We let them know in advance we were bringing $1000 as a down payment and were looking to complete the sale for the lease special event. Test drive went great. We went on to numbers. Sales advisor came back after speaking with manager. They said that due to the fine print we owed an additional $1900 in order to complete the deal. We said we couldn't do that and were looking to complete the deal as advertised. He said he understood and went to talk with the manager. The manager is the one who returned twice after this. First time to tell us that this happens often because people either don't read the disclosures or don't understand what it means when they say fee's not included. We told them we understand fee's and disclosures, however the way the add represents does not show the total amount they are asking for. They came back with new numbers after this that were still over $100 more per month than the advertisement. We were blamed for not understanding that their ad was misleading and ultimately we left because though we could afford it, that level of dirty business practice pushed us elsewhere. We wish the service person who helped us out initially all the best. But other than that they were duplicitous, condescending and lacked all empathy for their actions. read more

I would strongly advise anyone to stay far away from this dealership. I purchased a vehicle from them in November and within just ONE month, it started showing serious engine issues. Now, after spending money on this vehicle, I'm now being told I have to pay out of pocket for a completely new engine. What's even worse is that I've been dealing with this problem for MONTHS with no resolution. I've reaching out multiple times, and instead of taking accountability or offering any real help, they've dragged this out and left me stuck with a car that isn't reliable and that now isn't driving. The lack of urgency, responsibility, and customer care is honestly shocking. A reputable dealership should stand behind what they sell--especially when major problems show up almost immediately after being told the car didn't have any issues. So my son's 2018 Accord had an issue where all dash warnings were cycling through, vibrated roughly, and couldn't go more than 10 mph. Hugh White's service department said that the root cause was clogged fuel injectors. So we were charged almost $1,700 for an oil change and replacing the fuel injectors. Picked up the Accord on 6/8/2022 and by today (6/12/2022) the same issue happens. All dash warnings appear and the car stutters and vibrates when first starting. Besides the fact that we were charged almost $1,700 for an oil change and replacing fuel injectors, now having the same exact issue leads to me believe there is a lack of quality control, inspection, or oversight at the Hugh White service department. Yes, I know that the dealer's service department will be responsible for warrantied repair to finally getting this fixed. But being out of a car for two consecutive runs now isn't acceptable. Do it right the first time! UPDATE: As of 6/23/2022 we have now taken the car to Hugh White Honda a total of three times --- 1) fuel injector replacement, 2) spark plug replacement, and 3) head gasket replacement. So much so that I had to sign corrected paperwork twice due to their errors. Now, 2 years later I am just now realizing that they never transferred my license plates/vehicle registry from my previous car to the CR-V. I recognize it is my fault for not realizing it until now. This reflects, though, another error on Hugh White's part when processing my purchase. I called the dealership this morning to share what I had found; not to get anything out of them, simply to inform them. The Sales Manager told me that it isn't their responsibility to transfer plates at time of purchase. I know this is not a true statement because I have transferred the same plates from one vehicle to another 3 times with this dealership; and each time, until this last time, they have done it. I was told that since I didn't purchase the car at this dealership, they could not service my vehicle. REALLY! You can't change oil and rotate tires for ANY vehicle!? This review is about the service. I went in for oil change and A1 service. So I was due to get oil changed, transmission fluid change and coolant changed. The service guy came back to me with a laundry list of things I needed to get done including coolant seeping from radiator, coolant seeping from water passage, other seals seeping. (I had never noticed any leaks from my car. The total quote to fix was $2,200. The service guy quickly got defensive on his own accord about how they are paid salary not commission (my first red flag) as I just listened to his explanation of the services needed. I never questioned or challenged him. I just listened and asked for him to write me a quote to review. I got a 2nd opinion from Japanese Automotive a week later who did comprehensive diagnostics including pictures. The only thing they came up with that needed addressing was a new battery (mine was 4 years old apparently and Hugh White said my battery was good!). I will never take my car to Hugh White again. I truly believe they saw me as someone they could take advantage of me being a woman with a CRV with over 100,000 miles on it. read more

Our new year isn't too happy after they sold my son a car that 2 days later had a engine misfire and a cylinder going out. The check engine light came on during the test drive and the sales man said he would have the repair shop look at it and came back and said it was a old emissions code and everything was fine. Well it wasn't fine cause 2 days after purchase, the check engine light came back on and after taking it back to you guys, the insurance they sold him won't cover it cause he hasn't had the car 30 days. So now they say they'll split the repair cost with him and that'll be 1000 out of his pocket plus still having to pay monthly for the car that he just got. Bad business. Just got a 2008 Honda Accord at Hugh White a few weeks ago. The salesmen we nice and not super pushy. We love that they let us test drive the car without a salesman going with us. They were willing to deal with us, which was nice. The best part was when we got back to financing. Andy was great. Super down to earth. Super honest. Super helpful. He was able to get us an even better price and even better rate than we were quoted. And we got the extended power train warranty and kept our payment where we wanted it. This dealership saved the day! Passing through Columbus when the check engine light came on. It was 7:00 p.m. and there was no way any auto service place would be open. I couldn't believe it when I found Hugh White Honda and their service department was open until midnight. They got me right in and back on the road in 2 hours. They have a customer for life. All my future business goes to White Honda even if I have to drive a couple hours to get there. They definitely have the customer in mind and not what is most convenient for them. *DISCLAIMER* I haven't actually been here for service or anything: I had my car in for service at Germain Honda when they gave me a price to fix what was wrong for what I felt was EXTREMELY high so I decided to call around and see what other dealers prices would be for the same service. I called Hugh White service and their lead tech/manager quoted me just under $1000 for what I needed done. For reference, Germain had given me a $1700 price point. So I scheduled an appointment and called Germain back when they said if I wanted they would call to verify and would price match Hugh White. The lady from Germain calls me back and tells me Hugh White said $1455... Weird since the guy just had told me under $1000 and how he just did the exact same thing a couple weeks ago and that's what they walked out paying out the door. So I call back to a) cancel my appointment and b) verify the amount he had given the lady at Germain (there was one part I had forgot to mention to him which costs an additional $45). He verifies the amount and I ask why the big difference in price which he tells me that when she called, he had to go back to the parts room and verify the prices and they ended up being higher than expected. So I ask you, what was going to happen if I had scheduled that appointment? He had given me an ESTIMATE of under $1000. Then he was going to come back after the work was completed and say oh yeah the price is actually almost $500 more expensive because I didn't really check into the parts and labor price originally?!?! The guy multiple times said this would be an estimate and it could change but confidently said he had recently done the same repair and the person walked out under $1000. Upon graduating from college, I desired to find me my first real car. Until then, I'd only had a hand-me-down. I knew what I wanted - either a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic. The trick was finding the right place to buy it from. With a college student size pocket book, I could not afford to buy new. After researching dealers in the area and then calling, I came to Hugh White Honda. Hugh White actually has two locations: one on Broad St and one off of Georgesville Rd. I chose to check out the one off of Georgesville Road. I'll admit that I don't know that much about cars. One of the things that I liked best about Hugh White was I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of. Other car dealers when I had them on the phone were nothing but pushy salespersons, which made me mad and so I'd hang up on them. Rather, Hugh White Honda treated me like a human being and sought to take care of me. Granted, they weren't willing to bargain on the price of the vehicle, but I felt like they did sell me something decent. The price wasn't actually bad to begin with. The car was in decent shape - no rust, nothing was falling off, it didn't look like it had been in an accident and even had an official-looking sticker that read "Ding Free". After testing it out, the car drove fine: no steering problems, no engine problems, no problems at all. They also pointed me toward all sorts of deals, including an extended warranty on the vehicle. Normally, the warranty is less than a year, but they told me about a way to put on a two year warranty instead. In multiple attempts to schedule inspections for TWO leased Honda's prior to turning in both cars this May, not only can they not fit me in at either my home or work location they had the audacity to ask me for a third convenient location! It has been two weeks, nobody has returned my call to "fit me in" for both car lease inspections as the phone representative said they would do. I usually go to Marysville but wanted to try this place since it was closer to my home. I scheduled the A12 service and was told it would be $170. After waiting for a bit, the guy came back out and said my back brakes should be replaced but it was only about $80 more (he wrote $80 on the paper he had with him and circled it). I told him to go ahead and change them. When I went to pay, the total was $510 due to the rotars being another $270 - I was never told these also needed replaced or how much they were. I wasn't happy but didn't think there was anything I could do since the work was already completed and it was 10pm by this point. I was emailed a survey that I sent back with low ratings because I feel I was lied to. I got another email saying they were sorry about my experience and someone would call me. No one has called. I'm sure they don't care since it's already been paid for. I will never go here again. I'd rather drive the 40 minutes to Marysville where their prices are lower and I've never been lied to. We just bought brand new Odyssey. It had some small things that weren't working took it to get service. They said they fixed everything. When we got it home none of it worked. Now we have it back there and it has been over a week and they still don't know what is wrong and have never offered a free rental and after several days of asking for one we still don't have one. Also the customer service is so poor from their service department. There seems to be no uniform staff just wonder around in whatever so there is no way to know who works there. I recently purchased a car from Hugh White and had a positive experience. I showed up to test drive the Honda CRV and was quickly assisted in finding a car to test drive. Odell was my salesman, and he was not pushy at all, but thoroughly explained the features of the car. When they didn't have the exact car I wanted, they worked with me, knowing I need to buy a car that day. I really felt like they were trying to work on my behalf while still protecting their bottom line (as they should.) My only complaints are the length of time it took to close the deal, and the financing guy. It is a really large showroom and besides the personal service from Odell and the sales manager, it feels like you're one of 1000 people buying a Honda that day. We had to wait for a long time, probably an hour, from the time we made the deal to when we were shuttled back to financing to ink the deal. After a long day of car shopping, I was feeling pretty impatient. Then, the financing department showed me a credit score that was 32 points below what Credit Karma had been telling me my score is for over 6 months! Plus, they offered a high interest rate that was far above the rates I had been offered at other dealerships earlier in the day. I was disappointed and insulted. I had a friend with me who helps a lot of friends buy cars and he didn't think the interest rates I was being offered were very competitive. I bought anyway because I wanted/needed the car and I can refinance, but it was a disappointing end to the experience. I would highly recommend Odell, and the lot has a lot of inventory because of its size, but you may want to arrange your own financing in advance. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Hugh White and I will be a customer for life! I originally went to Lindsey a few months ago for a test drive on the HRV and never again! Very high pressure sales even when I told them from the beginning that I just wanted a test drive and I will not be ready to purchase for a few months. Going to Hugh White was a breath of fresh air! I called and explained my situation and the salesman Joe was happy to have me come in to get my Mazda appraised and give me information on leasing a 2017 HRV. He also gave me his cell phone number right off the bat in case I had any questions throughout the whole process. After getting the car appraised I knew exactly where I stood if I wanted to get into a lease. I told him about some specials I saw on the Honda website which he brought up on his computer for us both to take a look at. He asked if I had seen their own specials specific to Hugh White. I had not seen them so we brought those up and found out that Hugh White was offering much better deals than Honda was. He told me straight out how much the monthly payment would be with the trade in and said there was no hidden fees or anything to worry about. We figured out the math together and got the payment exactly where I wanted it. It was so easy! I never had this type of service before at a dealer because typically it is a Hugh pressure environment where they just come up with a payment and don't let you see exactly how they came up with it. Everything was very clear and written out for me here in a way that I could understand. Typically car dealerships have different levels of people that come over to "make you a deal". It wasn't like that here. The sales manager did in fact come over but it was just to introduce himself and let me know who he was in case I needed anything! The financial part of it was quick and painless as well. It was probably the shortest time I have ever spent in a dealer. I was even able to drive home my new HRV that night! On 6/13/22, I took my vehicle in because the fuel door wasn't working. The issue was identified, a part was ordered, and I was told I would get a call when the part came in (within a day or two). I was charged for the part and 30 mins of labor. If anyone did call, they didn't bother leaving a message. I called on 6/17 and was told the part was in but they wouldn't be able to get me in until 6/23. I arrive around 11am for my scheduled time of 11:15am. I sit in the waiting area for 3 hours while the work is completed. The tech comes to me and informs me that they did not have the part they needed. Not sure if they ordered the wrong part or were sent the wrong part. I was not charged for this 3 hours. Either way, the part that was needed was ordered and I was once again told that I would receive a call when the part came in. Yet again, if a call was made, no message was left. The part came in the very next day (6/24) but I didn't know that until I called the parts department on 6/29. I left a voicemail for the tech because service almost never answers the phone. I got a call back late afternoon and scheduled to have the work done next day (6/30). When the work was done, I was reimbursed about $30 for the parts but then I was charged $30 in "miscellaneous" fees. Total bill was shy of $300. I would like to think a little more of a discount could have been applied seeing as just a few weeks prior to this, I dropped over $1,800 for a timing belt service. Guess customer loyalty means nothing and I'm gonna be taking my vehicle to a shop that doesn't charge over $150 an hour for labor. read more

Hugh White Honda was the 2nd of 3 Honda dealers I visited today (see also Lindsay Honda and Roush Honda). A salesman greeted us in the parking lot almost as soon as we got out of the car. Salesman was extremely professional and very knowledgeable regarding the Honda line of cars and Accords in particular. He explained that they had no 2016 models left and that there were very few 2016s left in the market. We told him what we were looking for and we roamed the lot looking at a few cars. They didn't have the specific one we wanted, but after checking the computer, he indicated that they could get one matching our specs with about 48 hours. We then talked price and got they bets price. We met the sales manager who was also very professional and straight forward. As with the previous dealer, we explained that we were planning on visiting 3 dealers today and would be making a decision either later that day or early the next morning. Both the sales manager and the salesman respected that decision and neither pressured us to make an immediate decision and the price didn't suddenly get better. The dealership is in the midst of an expansion/renovation but that did not deter from the shopping experience. Staff was professional and dealership was nice. Spoiler alert --- we didn't ultimately buy from Hugh White but it was only because we got almost identical pricing from a Honda dealer that's 25 miles closer to home. I got a call from the service manager a couple of days after the experience. He said he was getting a lot of heat for this and needed to make it right. Among other things I was going to get a deal and get a loaner car for the day. The whole dealership made me feel awful for requesting my loaner and the information desk guy on the sales floor even called the other salesmen over and said "this guy thinks he is going to get a loaner for a hitch install on a car he didn't buy from us." I went back to get my car that evening and despite my quote of $276, my bill was $651. The service manager was really rude to me and tried to say that they had only quoted me labor. After I said it didn't make sense that someone would just quote labor when you called for an installation he said "well why did you even come here to get your hitch installed if this isn't where you bought your car?" read more

I went there years ago and the sales rep was nice, polite, and very helpful. Unfortunately Benny doesn't work there anymore. So today my girlfriend and I go there to look at some cars for her. We walked around for a while before being approached. Which this didn't bother me. After we talk to the sales rep (older guy, thinner, white hair all over), does some minor questions, we mention going inside and talking financing. He proceeded to say my lenders would not lend to you. As if he knows her credit status. What an arrogant person. After this we didn't even want to go inside to talk to someone else. I have never received such poor customer service at any other business establishment in my whole entire life. I came in for my routine maintenance, oil change and tire rotation the usual but I also asked the service technician (I will keep his name private for this review) to check for some additional things such as vibration in my steering, slow acceleration and I feel like I'm not getting the gas mileage as I should be. I also mentioned the car being louder than the norm. I purchased this vehicle a little over a year ago, brand spanking new! Hondas are known for being gas savers and wonderful daily drivers, reason why I made my purchase to begin with. I felt like it was time for a more thorough check as its reaching more mileage. Back to my experience, so before he even bothered to check the car he explained how gas contains a lot of alcohol in the winter and ya-da-ya-da which could be the reason why I don't get the gas mileage as I should, in my head made completely no sense. As far as the car being louder he actually opened up the hood and listened but his reasoning for the loud noise was "this is normal for the sound of these models." Did I mention I bought this car brand new only a year ago! I drive the vehicle everyday I believe I would know what normal is or else I wouldn't have addressed the issue to begin with. As far as slow acceleration he stated it was due to my floor mats? I'll just leave that one for you to decide my reaction. Anyway, as he goes to sign off my paperwork to me he clearly states we will go ahead and do your oil change and tire rotation if we need to do anything more the car may not be done until 530-600pm we will give you a call and let you know. It was approximately 130pm when I checked my car in. So I left my car there and hung around the area for about an hour didn't hear back so I leave. I assumed maybe there was an issue with my car as hours pass and I decide to call them at 530 to ask on the updates. Then he goes to tell me "oh yeah we are finishing up your paperwork now. We found no issues at this time. We even burned out the tires when we took it out." I don't even burn out my own tires! One thing you need to know about me I am OCD when it comes down to my car, exterior/ interior whatever the case may be. If I'm trusting you in the hands of my vehicle I trust it to come out the way it was or even better. I was happy to hear that they found no issues but I was very unhappy no one gave me a call to let me know what exactly was going on within that 4.5 hour duration! No way does it take that long to do an change oil and rotate tires. So like I mentioned it was already 530PM when I had called to check on the status of my car as I'm headed out the door to pick it up. I arrive at 600pm and no one in the service department is anywhere to be found. The cashiers office is locked up and my car is sitting outside in the lot no way for me to access it. The technician had just spoke to me and stated it was ready for pick up and I told him I was on my way. I literally show up twenty minutes after our phone conversation and no one is there to check me out. I'm pretty much stranded! What kind of business leaves their customers behind? A man from the dealership end walks over to me and he somehow finds a way to the service office and digs my keys out for me. I am beyond furious about the whole situation at this time. After he checked me out he seen how frustrated I was but then again he really didn't seem to care either because he was closing up shop as well. Like it was a normal thing that situations like these happen often. He told me to call in Monday and speak with the service manager. Matt will definitely be hearing from me! And then it gets even better!!! Already upset I didn't get a phone call, no one in sight to explain what was actually done to my car, no one there to give me my car or check me out.. First thing I do when I got to my car I looked at my whole entire body of my car because all I could think about was the tech stating they burned out my tires. Really no way to tell if my tires were even rotated. My rims on the other hand? Damaged! I am still upset, I could barely get any sleep last night. Way to run a business!! The decision I made a year ago to purchase this brand new car and to be treated like this is above and beyond my head right now. I'm trusting you with my car and the feeling I get in return for such poor quality service is disgusting. The cherry on top was getting into my car and finding my things laying on the floor and I didn't even receive my complimentary car wash. This location has the worse quality service and it hasn't been the first poor experience but it is definitely my last! Lesson learned. I will never come back here nor recommend this place to anyone. Bought my fit at Hugh White about a year ago and had a great experience, the gentleman who sold me the car was very kind and showed me a lot of the features of the vehicle. I absolutely love my car and I think it was the perfect choice for me. I have only been into the service department once, today, I had pulled too far over a parking curb thing and it pulled the plastic cover underneath the car off a little bit. They fixed it for free in under 30 minutes and washed the car for me! I was very impressed. I plan on returning for future service needs. read more
