It was my first time in, and when my son was brought back they gave me a tour and reviewed what would be taking place during his examination. I returned to the waiting room (very clean and comfortable) and waited for the duration of his checkup. When my son was finished they brought him up to the lobby- he was smiling from ear to ear, thrilled with his goody bag and headed straight to the game area. This part is very important! The doctor (Dr. Abby) took the time and sat with me, reviewed X-rays, and went in depth about the treatment my child would need- AWAY FROM MY CHILD. We have been to offices before where they blurt out what needs to happen and it's very scary for little listening ears. I appreciated this small detail so much. From that point, I waited a few minutes until the treatment plan was ready, it was reviewed with me at the counter (again my child was busy playing games so he wasn't involved in the adult stuff) and then the next appointment was made. From start to finish I cannot express how wonderful of an office, and experience this was. A dental office can be a scary place for a kid- but at Sturz & Abby they were made to feel comfortable and safe. I will be returning for all dental needs.

Something felt off, I felt nervous and decided to get a second opinion. I'm genuinely so happy I did. He needed 2 cavities filled. No root canals. How scary is that? The dental assistant who has helped us is named Adrianna. Adrianna does x-rays, cleaning, polishing, and she is the one who spends the most time with us in the room before the dentist walks in. Adrianna is AMAZING. The way Adrianna talks and interacts with my son absolutely makes my heart happy. Adrianna is so caring and compassionate, she gives my son slow and simple instructions on what she needs him to do, and she explains calmly and carefully what she will be doing to him. The kiosk check-in system is also faulty and does not always go through to the front desk, so they think you're late or a no-show unless you speak to the receptionist. There is also now a host standing by the kiosks... why? I am disappointed because I pay for PPO just to continue going to CD. I vote for them for Bakersfield's Best every year. And I have referred all of my friends and family to them throughout these years. But I won't be doing that anymore. Will report back if things improve.
