I absolutely love Dr Bang and everyone on staff at Bakersfield Dental Group. Unfortunately, a recent insurance change has forced me to get my dental care elsewhere- however my first choice would be to stay with Dr Bang and Bakersfield Dental Group forever. They are some of my very favorite people in Bakersfield. They have always treated me very kindly, and have provided me with the very best dental care of my life. The office is comfortable and professional. Everyone there cares about and takes pride in what they do and say every day. Everyone works well together. Dr Bang will advocate for her patients and will coordinate care with other providers for her patients. There is no one better. From the awesome office ladies, to the traveling specialist, to the assistants and hygienist - everyone here is fabulous and if I ever get the chance to come back I will in a heartbeat. First the X-ray tech re-did multiple captures and would delete ones that weren't good enough, seems like an inexperienced person. The amount of time they make you wait to be seen after you are put in an exam room is ridiculous. You pick when dentist but they'll put you with whoever they choose that day. Don't recommend. !!!BEWARE!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE! I went in May for a broken tooth. I went back in June to start the work for that and two root canals + bridge and had to write a first check for $4,349. Dr Bang drilled a bit and said the one tooth was good for root canal for the bridge. Two temp caps were put on. NO ONE checked the crowns. They weren't sealed right and tech was clearly new. One crown fell off. If I hadn't just prepaid i would have gone elsewhere then. I've now been in pain for several weeks and the drilling and bad crowns made it excruciating. I went back on June 24th. Dr. Sorjani - endodontist who's there 1x per month - was to do root canals. He came in and jammed the numbing needle in. No warning. He seemed angry. He started to drill the wrong tooth. I had to tell him which ones. He got even angrier when he couldn't get me numb. He then said he couldn't do anything. And again, I PREPAID this visit too - an additional $1,201 Dr. Sorjani is a piece of work - I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. After he said he could do nothing, the tech put back on the bad crowns that were originally on there. Again, no dentist inspected the tech's lazy, shoddy work. The office staff- Trace - also lies. She said they're keeping over $2,000 because we "agreed to it" for the THREE teeth they worked on. It was only 2! And they did nothing except put me in horrific pain for 6 weeks. A few minutes after I left this visit, the crown fell off. I went back again that afternoon and another tech replaced the crown that fell off. I'm still in pain. It's July 8th now. They have over $4000 of our money still. They are not returning it so far and could give us no idea of when the little they were returning might show up. I am spreading the word to everyone. DO NOT USE BAKERSFIELD DENTAL GROUP. They are in the habit of making people prepay and then doing nothing. They have no concept of patient care. read more

New patient The night before my appt i got a call asking if I wanted to come in early so that could do both my exam & deep clean, since my previous dental office canceled multiple cleanings it's been a while. Dr. SAHNI IS AMAZING & OH SO PATIENT! I had the most thorough initial visit. I had 2 types of xray plus photos. He examined me & explained everything he found & recommended. I had my deep cleaning then had 3 fillings needed. 1 simple & 2 to fix old fillings. All was great, until my old filling didn't want to budge & my mouth wouldn't get numb, not the Dr fault, I'm hard to numb. He was so patient. He stopped as soon as I told h each time. I was in their office 4 hours and no one rushed me. It's sort of the process of allowing it to numb up enough to be able to finish the procedure. Even though i had a hard time getting numb, even with the pain, this was one of the best dentist visits I've ever had. Bakersfield Bakersfield Dental Group is always amazing! Dr. Linda Bang is very kind. She explains things very thoroughly and answers any questions in a way to understand easily. The staff are nice, and go out of their way to make sure whatever procedure you're getting goes well, and is as painless as possible. I've been going here for several years, and have never had any issues with the service or the treatments. On my most recent visit, Reina and Marissa were very sweet when they assisted Dr. Bang with replacing a crown. Front desk staff are all great too. Mostly, I deal with Lourdes. She's always nice and professional. Today, I was also helped by Janet, and she was also very friendly. PLEASE READ!!!! IMPORTANT! I would like to start with, I was referred by this location by my twin sister! I started having tooth pain and went to Gentle Dental first located here in Bakersfield. Due to the higher cost, I opted to seek out additional quotes for comparison. I called this location Bakersfield Dental Group, and she expressed Gentle Care might have a better cost. I attempted to call Gentle Care and the receptionist was on lunch, called back again and she was in a meeting. Soon, Bakersfield Dental Group reached out again, on their own and contacted me about seeing what they can do for my situation. She (Sharlene I believe) was assisting me and offered a better price than the other location and got me scheduled as soon as possible. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, the entire staff was incredibly professional and made me feel completely comfortable. The customer service was outstanding. Dr. Sahni, talked me through the process of each step he was doing while working on my teeth, and made sure I felt secure. I highly recommend this place to everyone. We're both 83 y.o.. We have had crowns, bridges through many dental offices over the years. We met Dr.Sahni and we hope that he will be the last dentist we have. My wife had an old bridge between tooth #13 and #15 needed to have a replacement. The new bridge needs a lot of of arrangement because of receding gum line and sensitivity on both sides. It's so difficult that she fell into anxiety. Dr. Sahni. with his expertise and a lot of convincing TLC ,helped her to go through to a comfortable perfect fit bridge. This place is TERRIBLE, and the front office staff is RUDE!!! I rescheduled an appt for 2 days later than my original and when i went down there the lady apparently scheduled it for a month and 2 days later even after I got a confirmation, the lady at the front said its not till next month and then she turn away from me in mid conversation and started a conversation with another staff member ignoring me and my situation. My 76 year old mother, who has Parkinson's Disease, inadvertently left her top dentures on her nightstand and her dogs chewed them up. She was seeing a dentist in Lancaster who quoted her $2k for top dentures and pulling a tooth on the bottom. Well life happens and i unexpectedly had to move my mom here to Bakersfield. Her insurance assigned her to Bakersfield Dental Group and we spent almost 2 hours there a few days ago only to have them tell her it will be $4k just for upper dentures. Insurance only covers $600, which isn't even 20%....she will unfortunately remain toothless as we will never return to these thieves. read more

Not only have I been overcharged, but I have also been asked to pay for services that were never completed. Moreover, the behavior and attitude of the staff reflect badly on the management. Very glad to have found this office! Staff and dentist were fantastic and took great care of my husband's dental emergency. Our insurance had recently changed and we were nervous about going to another office when my husband had a toothache and was overdue for checkup. My friend highly recommended Dr. Bang and she was on our list so we decided to go here. Everyone was friendly and professional and took good care of him. Updating my review since I've had many issues. I've had nothing but issues with this office. They completely shut down for more then half a year canceling multiple appointments. My husband was see 3 months ago for a root canal and crown and every appointment that has been made for that have been a month out from the last appointment. His last appointment to get his permanent crown put on was supposed to be this Friday but they call today saying they need to reschedule. Not acceptable. They have already received payment and not all services were rendered. They use the excuse of Covid but there are other dental offices that are operating just fine. I'm a fairly new patient at Bakersfield Dental and fully regret my decision. dr. Bang worked on me ONE time and was great. However, I think assistants have worked on me every time after that because there is no way they are licensed dentists. My temporary caps fell off three times. The last time they tried to put them on, I felt EVERYTHING. Worst experience of my life! my Poot husband has been walking around with a kissing cap front tooth. Who does that! You get charged 16 k then you shouldn't be walking around with a kissing tooth. A temporary should have been put in place. As soon as all this work is done we're changing dentists. Do not go!! Save your money!! I had been going to this dental group for a few years and it was okay. My last visit was August 2023 and things were entirely different. I was told I needed a deep cleaning when I just had one two years ago and I am regular on my teeth cleanings. The dental hygienist Navjot Kaur was very unrprofessional and just like a sales person. She pushed me into purchasing a deep cleaning. She did half of my mouth with no numbing and was done in less than 15 minutes. I paid $190 out of pocket. That was no way a deep cleaning. I had one done there two years ago and they numbed me and one side took about 45 minutes which is expected with a deep cleaning. Navjot Kaur was just out to make money as if she made a commission off me. She made me feel very uncomfortable and I never went back for the other half of the deep cleaning. They were going to charge me $150 for that. I spoke to the Office Manager after that fraudulent cleaning and she told me it can be only 15 minutes sometimes which is a lie. If that were the case then I would not need a deep cleaning, just a regular cleaning. Do not go here!! They are complete crooks now!! read more

This has to be the absolute worst dentist office in this town but not because of the doctors. I believe a lot of the disfunction going on here has to do with the office staff. My boss used to also be a patient here but left due to the fact his appts were cancelled and rescheduled usually the day of or a day before. There was a time his appt was rescheduled two different times from the day he was originally scheduled. I came here for what I knew I needed which was a deep teeth cleaning (which I was looking forward to) but they found other issues which ended up bringing the tab to around 4K. I paid 3.2K the day I was there and was scheduled to come back for the procedures. The day off my appt (Wednesday) I get a call at 9AM to reschedule my appt to Friday. I didn't know if I could make the appt due to the holiday weekend but I told Rena that I would move some stuff around to make it work but I wasn't happy obviously due to it being a holiday weekend and I already having plans. I show up today and it turns out I'm not even on the schedule. My appt shows it's been cancelled and moved to Thursday of the following week. Yet I never got a phone call regarding this. She did get me in but the experience just got worse. Although I had paid 3.2K already for work they hadn't performed (except for a night guard and impressions for said night guard) 638.00 dollars they wanted me to pay another 700+ dollars to get the deep cleaning. I told her I had already paid 3.2K couldn't we just take the price of the deep cleaning from there since the rest of the work wasn't done and I would pay whatever balance was left at the end of my last appt. They refused! It wasn't like they were fronting me the money since 90% of the work wasn't done and before all the work was done they would be paid any outstanding balance. I even would get it if they had to charge me that day because I went over my paid amount for work actually DONE! When they quoted me the deep cleaning was included in that quote which left me with a 900+ balance but today it didn't even show I was quoted the deep cleaning. I believe when they entered the information to the computer it wasn't entered right or maybe even deleted when they deleted my appt. I don't know! I wouldn't trust their reviews either since they bribe you with items to make a good review. Needless to say I am disappointed! I cancelled my future appts and hope to get my money back for any work they haven't done. I not to hopeful though! I will update my review with the results. read more

My experience was not a good one for my mother who is 95 and has a hearing problem Because of covid I could not go in with her and I told the workers that I wanted to be in there when they were explaining thing. Of course they did not do that until it was time to sign papers work and they upgraded her material for the dentures. The co pay was suppose to be $1,000 and she ended up paying over $3200.00 and they wanted their money right then and there. We made arrangements for 2 payments on my credit card and of course they charged more. I called and they said it was a mistake and would recall charge which they did. It took 3 months to get my mother's new dentures. We will not be going back to this place. one star read more

My family has been coming to Bakersfield dental to see Linda Bang for a couple of years. She is very pleasant and explains things clearly. This office has multiple dental specialists that work out of this office so it's a one stop shop for most dental procedures. The front office staff is knowledgeable and polite, the back office girls are friendly, and the office looks clean. I can't say much about their prices as we didn't shop around regarding fees. Our main priority was getting good quality and professional dental care and that is what we receive here. We are pleased. read more

Avoid this place like the coronavirus! I greatly regret not checking Yelp reviews prior to becoming a patient here, and after my last visit, I am no longer a patient here. I chose this place thinking it'd be a convenient one-stop dental office for me. I wanted so much to like it. To keep it simple I'll bullet point the pros and cons Pros: - The dentist herself is very nice. - Most of the staff is friendly. - The lobby is clean. Cons: - Left for 45 mins reclined in a chair after anesthesia had been applied, then by the time my teeth were worked on, it had started to wear off. This has happened more than once! - The front desk person asked a personal question regarding my dental history and admitted that she and her colleagues had been talking about it. - During my initial visit, my teeth weren't even cleaned like was scheduled. Instead, the focus was upselling me on crowns. - When I did opt for the crowns, there was a 50-minute wait for the permanent crown even when I had an appointment, and people who came after me were seen before I was. - No referrals given. I was just told to find a specialist myself. - Oh, and when I got a temporary crown, the person working on the crown (not the dentist) nicked another tooth with the file. I'm not trying to be disrespectful in saying all of this, but this dental office needs a serious revamping: staff should be properly trained in their tasks and in professionalism. Dr. Bang charges high dollar prices. Her office waiting room is freezing cold. The workers are wearing coats. They refuse to raise the heat. The staff is rude and very uncaring. Once I get the tooth she charged a fortune for I will be looking elsewhere. With the high dollar rates they charge it should at the very least be warm inside! DrBang is very nice and gentle and does excellent dental work. You have to be able to afford her and put up with her front office staff. Back office staff is good. read more

Not recommended. There are so many "contract" doctors in this office its not really a personalized or comprehensive plan. The staff are dismissive and make many communication and clerical mistakes on paper work and charging for services. Not to mention pointless rescheduling because no one documents when you have or have not had your crown modeled, placed, etc. Every appointments I had to remind them what I had done and still needed.
