I love this place so much, and not just because I like mangoes! This is probably the 3rd Hui Lau Shan I've been to in this state, but several times in this specific one before writing a review for this specific location. I got here with a friend on a Sunday night and used street parking nearby, which was rough to find. You won't find much seating inside the place either; there's several tables that seat bigger groups and a couple that seat a max of two people. The rest of the space is the kitchen where the desserts are prepared and, like its other location at Bel-Red, there's a ton of big boxes of fresh mangoes nearby and the scent of mangoes hits you pretty hard. For this visit, I shared the mango romance with my friend, then got a mango coconut with sago for myself. The mango coconut with sago was in quite a big cup, and I loved how sweet and refreshing it was! The mango romance is pretty delicious too; you have mango bits, mango ice cream, mango slush, chewy balls and even a mango mochi that's best shared in small bites though I ironically wasn't a fan of the coconut flakes on top of the mango mochi. You can't get these kinds of mango desserts anywhere else, so I highly recommend giving here and its other location a try if you love mangoes! read more

So cute! I love the drinks a lot. The taste of mango is really present and not artificial at all. The cost is a bit high in my opinion for the drinks but perhaps that is the fact that they use real mangos and that was what they are known for and due to their popularity. I've been there numerous times and there have been instances where my drink was so sour because the mangoes that they used weren't ripe yet, but that's happened to me less than a handful of times. Their location is fairly small, seats about 10 people. I usually just get my items and go out to the park nearby. I think the customer service is also pretty shoddy, it depends on who is working. I was very excited to check out this new location of HLS! Being a fan of the original location in Redmond, I was familiar with their menu but was intrigued by this downtown Bellevue shop. It's a smaller location but still has plenty of seating and they seem to offer everything but the hot food items. I got the red dragon fruit & kiwi cheesy milk top, pomelo mango with sago, and mango coconut crystal jelly drinks as well as a 6 pack of mango mochi. Everything was delicious, fresh, and satisfying. The staff member was also very friendly and got the drinks out quickly and they looked exactly like the pictures. Parking was available street-side as well as in the building, so dropping by was very convenient. I will certainly be popping in more often when I'm in the area. This is a great intimate place to catch up with friends, go on a date, or end the evening with a light dessert. read more

Hui Lau Shan is one of our favorite dessert places. We LOVEEEE LOVEE their mango mochi's covered in coconut. So fresh and mangos are super sweet when in season. We also have gotten their durian mochis as well, they are a bit more pricey, but good if you like durian! Mango pancake is also good, but A LOT of cream is inside, so we typically prefer the mango mochi instead. The employees here are usually pretty friendly, but its a good idea to check out the menu first to get an idea of what you would like to order so you can avoid backing up the line. It is also pretty small inside, not much seating, but you can always grab and go! In our most recent visit, we got the Mango Coconut with crystal jelly drink. Unfortunately, when we got there late on a Tuesday night, they were no longer offering Sago, but the crystal jelly was yummy and good replacement. Had to mix up the drink reallllly well in order to get all the different elements in each sip. Overall, I would get this drink again, but its was pretty large, ideal for sharing! Usually, we are able to find street parking right outside Hui Lau Shan, but I do believe they offer garage parking as well. They are also dog friendly and let us bring our pup inside while we enjoyed our dessert. The shop is small inside and the bathrooms are the food court next door, but over all the ambiance is good. Tables were pretty clean inside, but it did seem like they were short staffed a bit. Everything here is really fresh and authentic, we love Hui Lau Shan and will be back soon! read more

This place is super cute and a good choice if you want a dessert! I got the Mango Chewy Ball dessert which came with fresh mango pieces, mochi balls, and mango sorbet. The mango flavors were so intense (in a good way!), you know that the shop uses real, ripe mangos instead of artificial flavoring or powders. Mochi balls were also quite good with a nice chew, but they do lean towards more of the softer side of the mochi world. Looking for something sweet but not too sweet? Had the opportunity to try the mango coconut with sago as part of the Yelp Elite invite. It was very tasty - felt like it had more 'nutritional value' than a bubble l/boba tea. With coconut milk/cream, mango and tiny sago (think very tiny boba). Love the textures and flavor that is light and flavorful. My only request next time is they mix it up for me. It looks pretty with the layering but the flavor is much better mixed. Had to take a few big gulp before I could shake it well. Also picked up the mango and strawberry pancake. It is more like a very thin crepe with light cream and a piece of fruit in the middle. I like it because it is not too sweet for a dessert and just enough. I like the strawberry more even though I am a fan of mango. Likely the 'freshness' of the fruit. It is not the mango season.
