I have personally only called Hukill's once. And that was to help find a leak in my friends home. The tech was pretty young, reeked heavily of pot, searched the house trying to find a leak and could not find anything. It was clear there was a leak somewhere due to water damage but he said he couldn't find anything. I ended up paying almost $400, for being told nothing could be found. Another company located the issue and it was handled appropriately. I won't say Hukill's is a horrible company, they seem to do fine when they come out to where I work to handle things, and many people like them. I was not hugely impressed and I really don't care to have people coming in my home that smell strongly of pot. I get that pot is legal, but if you are on the job you should not be smoking it. Besides the fact that the smell of it gives me migraines, I find the use of it while working to be highly unprofessional and it reflects poorly on the company you work for. While my one experience may not have been stellar, they seem to usually be a decent, reliable company most of the time. I wont call Hukill's for any of my plumbing needs but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. I have found reliable, pot free, plumbers closer to where I live so will use them when needed. If I lived in Medford, I'd probably try Hukill's again, and just request the tech be pot free. read more

Steve, the project coordinator from start to finish, had great communication and even showed up at the job several times! I have an appointment for 8am to 12pm. They call at 7:59, leave a message I can't understand. It turned out they were going to come out now. By the time I got the number he mumbled on the voice mail, I called them back to say sure, now would be great. That was at 8:20am. They already moved on to another appointment. They might get back with me in a couple hours. Not a happy camper, then they charge you an arm and a leg. Last time they came out here, they did an outstanding job. Now they treat me like they never heard of me, like I'm not a loyal customer. The work was done today and I got a invoice that said $700.00. Says they are open 24 hours a day. Called on Saturday about a kitchen sink leak. Talked to a person who said they could have someone come out on Monday morning. Monday morning, after not hearing anything, we checked with Hukill's who said that was just an answering service and they had no authority to make an appointment. So what good is it to even have a service? What good is it to say they are open 24 hours a day? Wasted three days we could have used to line up someone else. I highly recommend this company for professional, fast, and quality work. We had a most wonderful experience with Hukill's Inc. to install a toilet and sink in our art studio which was located 100 feet away and down a steep hill from our home. They also replaced 3 faucets in our home. This was a big job since lines for water and sewer had to be run involving excavation, and installing a sewage/grinder and pump system to push sewage to the main sewer line. I cannot overstate how impressed I was with the professionalism, expertise and capability of every person at Hukill's Inc. working on this project. I was especially impressed with Darren and Ryan for their pleasant can-do attitude, expertise, and capability in the installed plumbing. Gave an estimate for $500-1000, ended up charging over $2000 for a 4ft extension of water valve and drain pipe. Job was pretty straightforward...not sure why it took them the estimated 3 hours to over 8 hours. Then they had the nerve to tell me other customers had to wait for their service because it took their guys so long. Not sure why I would be responsible for that? Almost forgot to mention. After they completed their work they found not hot water. They assumed the water heater wasn't hooked up. After canceling my inspection and calling the owners of the building, we found they had not turned on the hot water valve to the faucet...ummm really! Two days of wasting my time! I removed my old washing machine to replace with the new one, only to find my cold water shut off valve was leaking (badly). I got online to find a plumber. Hukills comes up at the top of the list. I called them immediately. I was told by Rosie she would have to have me text pictures to her phone and she would show them to the office manager and get back to me RIGHT AWAY. I texted immediately and then waited. As I waited I called other companies. Three hours goes by, so I call again. I was told by the lady who answered that Rosie was out to lunch for another 20 minutes or so, but she would have her call me RIGHT AWAY. TWO DAYS have gone by. I have NEVER received a return call. It would have been nice to at least had them say, "We are booked for the next two weeks, but would be happy to put you on a cancellation list", or even, "Your job is too small, we don't want your business". I was put on a cancellation/fit you in list by several other companies. ACCURATE PLUMBING had someone out to me the next day. He completed the job in 30 mins. He did an excellent job. Darrin C owner of Kottke/Eagle plumbing had been my plumber for years. 2008 Darrin responded quickly to my water tank emergency with same day service. He recommended the Rinnai tankless/on demand water heater. The Rinnai has been one of my best major appliances purchased thus far. Darrin did the install/equipment for half the price of two quotes I had received.I have used Darrin on all my plumbing needs, repairs to remodels over the years. He is honest,reliable, and reasonably priced. My most recent repair call for my Geberit wall hung toilet Darrin informed me he was selling his business name. He would continue to work for the company that bought his business name but was keeping his established clientele. I was pleased that I could continue to have Darrin as my plumber as I have contractor/handyman trust issues. Last week I decided to tend to my badly leaking hose bib. I called the business that bought Darrin's business , Sp_ _ _an Plumbing, I requested Darrin C. I was told "We don't know who he is" I informed her that Darrin told me he sold his business to S_ _ _ _an Plumbing and was continuing to work part time there. Again she said "We don't know who he is. Who is "WE" I did not know there were three persons on my call. Feeling something was off with the "We don't know who he is " response I hung up and called Hukills, they had numerous positive reviews on Yelp and Google. The call was courteous and service was scheduled around my availability. Next day. When the Hukills truck arrived at my house to surprise and relief Darrin C got out of the Hukills truck. Wow I could relax and knew my problem would be fixed accurately. Hukills Thank You for finding Darrin C. I will continue to use Hukills for all future plumbing needs. At first, I was happy with them, as I was without water and needed help. But, it was a big job and they didn't keep me up with estimates. I paid what I thought was the final bill, but they came back weeks later with another one. Not very professional. Don't call these guys if you're in any sort of a hurry or if you have a problem and want to talk to management. I called on a Wednesday to get a guy out for an estimate. Unlike most companies, this is is where the waiting begins. They take your information and tell you an estimator will call you in a day or two to set up an appointment rather than scheduling something with you while you're on the phone. At about 3:00 the next day, I got the call and set up an appointment for 3:30 on Friday. Friday, I leave work early and in a rush to make my appointment, which was forgotten. I called the company at 4:15 after not being able to contact the estimator and she told me she'd call me back. Another 15 minutes later, she calls to say she can't reach him, but he'll be calling me back to reschedule. I let her know how dissatisfied I am and that waiting several more days was not ok. Miraculously, the estimator called me back 15 minutes later and said he could still be out and would be out in 15-20 minutes (over 30, but whatever). He showed up, did a quick assessment and was about to head out the door when I asked about my estimate. He let me know he'd email it to me and apologized for forgetting my appointment. After he left, I got on the phone with my insurance company, gave them an update (much to her horror), 15 minutes later she had me on the phone with another company and within an hour, that company was at my door setting up pumps and heaters to get the 8 inches of standing water out of my crawl space and to assess what was going on. Before even going under the house, he was able to tell me that a pipe had burst and to not run the washer or dishwasher and only run the kitchen water sparingly. By Monday morning, the plumbing company was able to replace the 8 feet of busted pipe and do a quick assessment of the other pipes. Meanwhile, I still hadn't heard back from Hukill's with an estimate. At 11:30 Monday, I still hadn't received an estimate from Hukill's, so I called Hukill's to speak with a manger about all of this, but she refused to put me through to anyone. She took my information and told me a manger would be calling me back after I vehemently expressed that I would like to talk to a manger (rather than leave a bad review). 15 minutes later, the estimator called me to confirm that I no longer needed an estimate (WHAT?!?) and a week later, I still haven't heard from a manager. Meanwhile, my house is still set up with pumps, heaters, and a dehumidifier because that's how significant of a problem I had going on that Hukill's felt they could ignore for however long. Since I do several loads of laundry and run the dishwasher multiple times on the weekends, I can only imagine how much more water and damage there would be had I waited around for Hukill's. Drainpros responded same day for our backed up sewer. They unclogged the sewer and then ran a camera down to determine if the problem was roots or additional blockages. The service was prompt, professional and the repair done so that we will have no future problems with our sewer line. I've used Drainpros for years for our rental and now for our personal home. I had no problem paying for 2 hrs labor, but really choked when I was charged $149 for materials, that probably cost company no more than $30-$40. Doubt that I will use them again. read more

Excellent service. I had a gentleman come out to replace my old garbage disposal with a new stainless steel disposal that is more efficient and won't smell the way my other one did. (Apparently the stainless steel ones don't gunk up like the cheaper ones) He was fast and efficient and even changed out all the pipes underneath so everything is brand new and no more smell. He also changed out the drain cover on the other side of my sink so it would look new as well. He was friendly and courteous and made sure to test everything thoroughly before he left. A very unprofessional company, The well service we received was horrible. The job was bid with a quote and when notified that they would be doing the job they started by installing a 15gal a minute submersible pump into a new well that was drilled in 2016. The well produces 2gal a minute therefore the pump was way to oversize for that size of well which would run the well dry with in minutes. After the job was started they stopped then came back with another bid to continue the job and was 3 times as much as the original bid. We also had the water tested in the well and we were told had high levels of iron and magnesium and all we needed was a water softener. When I had another pump company come look at finishing the job I gave them a copy of the water test report and was told that there's more things wrong with the water than high iron. We are back to square one which the new pump company recommended another water test after flushing the well for about 4 hours to get a true accurate water test. So everything Hukill's did will have to be redone along with the right pump for that size of well. We paid them $2200.00 dollars for a job that has to be redone. I would not recommend them for any well service because I don't think the person they have doing the well service knows what he's doing very unexperienced. read more

We needed a pipe plumbed in, and a breaker box hooked up. They quoted us "2 1/2 hours to 3 hours labor, plus 100 in parts). Sounded simple enough, until they didn't install it correctly, had to come fix their broken pipe, then had to come back to label the switch they didn't label...then charged us for almost 11 hours of labor. The worst experience I have ever had with a "service" company. I am a renter, so I have no choice when it comes to plumbing service. If I had a choice, this review would be much shorter because I would have moved on long ago. This company has repeatedly shown itself to be incompetent, misogynistic and arrogant to the point that they refuse to listen to customers. Here are my specific experiences in chronological order: 1. A door seal crumbled on our dishwasher and a "technician" came to see. He determined that it needed to be replaced, so he wrote down the model number and left my home. I received a phone call about a half hour later because he had lost the model number. I received another phone call about a week after that from my property management company because, again, they couldn't find where they had put the model number. I received the same call from the property management company about 3 weeks after that. About 2 weeks following that, they showed up with a new dishwasher. The installer said that they couldn't locate a door seal for the old model. I looked for one online and found one in under 3 minutes. It was $12. 2. I live on a steep hill, and drainpros was scheduled for an appointment on a particularly icy day. My wife recommended to the person coming for the visit that they reschedule due to road conditions. His response was, "Darlin', I'll make it there fine." He got stuck half way up the hill and had to call for help. (Obviously, this isn't about their plumbing abilities, but it shows their pattern of treating customers like they know more and are better than their customers, as well as showing their inability to listen to people). 3. We had a leak under a bath tub that was seeping into the carpets of the adjoining room. Against our wishes, drainpros was again called to handle the job. They came to our house and literally told us that the reason the carpet in the other room was getting soaked is that we don't know how to keep water inside of a bath tub. I crawled under the tub myself and took pictures of the leak, so they were called back, took the tub out, and found that what I was saying to them to be accurate. It would have been nice for the person who did the initial inspection to not assume that his client is an idiot. 4. The replacement dishwasher mentioned above is of very poor quality, but that isn't drainpros fault - the owner of the house went cheap. The drain motor has gone out on the new dishwasher and it is still under warranty. After fiddling with it, a "technician" from drainpros was able to get the dishwasher to drain again, but it made a very loud noise, which I recorded, and then completely died about a week later. I tried resetting the machine myself, then called the technician and followed his instructions for resetting it, then I followed the instructions from the owner's manual (all methods had the same result - drain pump will not run). So, right now, as I am writing this, I am sitting at home, avoiding the hundred other things that are infinitely more important in my life, and waiting for the owner of drainpros to arrive at my house. Why? Because they think that the dishwasher won't drain because we don't know what we are doing! I'm not really sure how they explain the presence of the loud noise prior to the motor dying, but whatever. I have lost many hours of my life to drainpros. If you want to hire a company that will listen to you and get the job done correctly the first time, you DEFINITELY need to find someone else. Drainpros is, by far, the very worst "service" company with which I have ever had to deal. read more

Worst service I have ever had in my life. They could not figure out the problem and kept replacing things to the tune of almost 1000$$ Well I have a new pump in my septic tank that I did not need, new electronic diodes in my control box, 2 new floats in my septic tank and all along it was the power wire from breaker box to control pump. Total cost for wire and conduit that I bought at Grovers???28.00$!!!!! Oh not to mention having tank pumped (needed that) and was first told I had a plug in my pipe somewhere in 300ft of pipe to drain field. Spent 2 days locating and digging up pipe and flow control box at drain field only to find pipe was clear no plug. Drain Pros sent out three different techs and charged me labor and parts on every visit. Also the last tech argued that the parts in the control box were old and needed replacing even though the first tech had replaced them new 4 days before!!! I watched him install them!!! I showed him the receipt and he still called the guy to come out and show him what he had replaced!!!!! These guys cant read a volt ohm reading to save their life and I finally got pissed off and called the owner. Same idiot came out and I told him to test the main power wire. Imagine that....it was going to ground and pulling to many amps and tripping the breaker!!!! Now we know why the pump would not run and thus the over flowing septic tank!!!!!! Thanks you idiots for the crap service and the 1000 bucks of my money you wasted plus lost vacation time!!! FU!!!!!! If you like spending money and being called a liar go with these guys if not find some one else. read more
