Menu From May 2026. Takes Apple Pay. Only debit card no discover card. Lunch special comes with white rice. Long wait don't expect fast. Food is good!

Potstickers. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture until the last one.

This place is a literal hole in the wall and shares the space with Chevron gas station. The food is reasonably priced BUT the food is delicious. The food has so much flavor. We opted for the lunch special that is Monday through Sunday from 1030 am until 2100. The food can feed two people. Service was wonderful. Try them out!

Delicious, delicious, delicious. Mongolian beef was one of the yummiest I've had- I personally love extra onions so i was thrilled to see a good amount but the plate was also loaded with tender meat. Next time I'll ask for extra spicy but flavors were perfection! Glad I stumbled upon this gem

"Lunch" Specials that run all day

I'm spending the night in Davis for a funeral in Antioch tomorrow. I went with what had great reviews and was in close proximity to my hotel. The restaurant shares its location with a gas station mart but that's not a turn off for me. It seems reasonably clean but I didn't see the bathroom. The "lunch specials" run all day and the only difference is it's half the regular serving and half rice. If you don't get a special the rice is a separate order. I ordered the Mongolian Chicken which is typically a spicy dish but I ordered it extra spicy. There was zero spice and basically no sauce or flavor. On top of that it was 1/4 chicken to 3/4 onions. I ate the chicken, 2 bites of rice and a few onions and threw the rest away. The service was friendly enough but nothing special. The only positive was the temperature was piping hot.

    The counter.

As a follow up review, they are consistent. A hole in the wall counter with a separate entrance next to the minimart, gas station. This time I went an hour before closing and they were in the process of wiping down the chairs and tables so you can at least feel good that they take the cleanliness as important This time I ordered the BBQ pork/Tofu rice plate. Tofu is fresh and soft with the right amount of gravy over the ample rice. A few pieces of BBQ pork. It was enough for my quick stop. Food was cooked to order, not like Panda Express, and was out in less than 10 mins. Another good stop off Interstate 80.

4.5 STARS Date: Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 Time: around 8pm Party of: 3 Meal: Dinner Takeaway Food Ready: in about 10-15 mins *Pot Stickers: 4 ($6.95) *Wonton Soup ($9.45) *BBQ Duck: half ($18.45) *Salt & Pepper Prawns: change Pork ($15.95) *Mongolian Beef ($13.50) *Dry Sauteed String Bean ($11.95) Hands down, the best thing here was the duck. And the funny thing is, I wasn't even going to order it. The lady helping the hubby and I out recommended it. I'm always susceptible to suggestion, so of course I said yes. The duck was plump and tasty. The string beans were good as well. A little saucier than I expected, but a nice subtle heat. The mongolian beef was how do I say, more like mongolian onions? There wasn't much beef in the dish. The soup was good. And luckily the wontons didn't bloom in the broth during transport. I originally wanted salt and pepper pork spareribs, but they don't have spareribs, so they suggested just pork. I wasn't a huge fan of this dish. Felt like more batter than pork. The potstickers looked good. I didn't try any of them, but the hubs seemed to enjoy it. We typically stop in Davis to get gas on the way back to the Bay Area from Tahoe. If you're looking for Chinese food and want some roast duck, I highly recommend this spot. REVIEW #3554

Twice I have gotten the wrong food when ordering the orange chicken and not caught the mistake till after everything has been made. No receipt is printed that contains what was order and the total for the customer. Please modify the print out to include what was ordered on the receipt for the customer to avoid wasting food and time.

A great hole in the wall with some of the best Chinese food I've had at Davis. I want to start by saying that the service was great. One of the ladies working there was very helpful giving us menu suggestions. She brought the food out very promptly and made sure we had plenty of utensils to serve each other with. The BBQ pork and general chicken were new to me and definitely something I enjoyed. The food was solid so making a return for sure. Only wish they served everyone with all silverware instead of mostly plastic utensils, but that's a minor detail. The place doesn't have many tables to sit at either so keep that in mind if bringing a big group.

Ask the Community - Four Seasons Gourmet Chinese Restaurant

Do they offer vegetarian lunch specials? I know some places don't like to substitute meat with tofu. Thanks.

Can you get a beer with lunch?

Sure, just pop next door into the gas station and grab a 40.

Does this place serve Peking duck?

No. The only duck they have is BBQ Duck.

How many people can this restaurant seat at one time?

This restaurant is not your typical Chinese restaurant, it is located in a gas station. They do have tables for 4 people. I would suppose they can put together several tables to accommodate a bigger group. The dining area is not a big area, but…

Wow! Ascended to my #1 restaurant spot in Davis. Definitely more of an infrequent meal since I…read morewould consider it more on the expensive side. Average dishes are ~20 dollars. Great spicy food and friendly staff. Food (10/10) - The food here is AMAZING! Perfect balance of spice to flavor and every single bite is electric. The sichuan numbing pepper in the Chongqing soup was DELICIOUS. Mix it with some of the white rice and you have a dish all by iteself. The chicken itself had a nice chew and was very fragrant. Loved the texture and flaovr of the vermicelli; nice bounce to the noodles while soaking in all the spicy soup. My one complaint would be that they have soft bones (sign of long boiling time) so be careful of that! Also got the spicy stir-fried pork kidney... don't diss it 'til you try it. Super good, with that nice bit of chew. Take a bite of pepper, kidney, and white rice and BOOM! Perfect bite. **Recommendation: Rice is a key component for the dishes here. Without rice, everything will be too spicy, too savory, and overall too overwhelming. The rice is the thing that helps tie everything together (as it frequently is) Service (8/10) - Good service; nothing notable. Nice people and I think most of them speak Mandarin. Service and seating was also fast. Order of things to come out of the kitchen was a bit strange: soup for the chicken, rice, stir-fry, chicken. Honestly, not that big of a problem but just decided to comment. Price (8/10) - The price here is a bit on the pricier side; $54 for 2 but there were some leftovers (had to make my own rice though). Some of the dishes are more worth than others. The Chonqing chicken was $25 but you got a large bowl of chicken with soup and vermicelli. On the other hand, the stir-fry for $20 was notably padded with vegetables and I would say a majority of the dish was not the kidney. At the very least, the taste of the food compensates. However, this place is likely not a college go-to. Overall, great restaurant that I will be coming back to again (maybe with my parents LOL) or at the very least, would come with a large group as it is more fitting for family style. Highly recommend!

We ordered the Stir-Fried Pork Intestine, Chili Fish, Stir-Fried Pork Belly with Cauliflower, and…read moreLamb Spine. We also got the Vegetable Chow Mein, but I forgot to take a picture . The Stir-Fried Pork Intestine was easily the highlight for me. It had that classic Sichuan numbing spice and a ton of flavor without being overly oily. The intestine was super crispy, which gave it a really satisfying texture. I'd 100% order this again. I was also really impressed by the Stir-Fried Pork Belly with Cauliflower, especially the cauliflower. It soaked up all the flavor while still keeping its texture instead of getting soft or soggy. The Lamb Spine was delicious too. The radish soaked up all the broth and basically turned into little flavor bombs. The only downside is that the lamb spine can be a little difficult to eat. If you want something easy and straightforward, I'd probably skip it--but if you don't mind working for your food, it's definitely fun and worth trying. Overall, everything was flavorful and well-portioned. We had four people and still ended up with plenty of leftovers. Some dishes, especially the Chow Mein, were a little oily, but nothing too unexpected for this style of food. Our total came out to around $125 for four people, which felt pretty reasonable considering how much food we ordered and how much we had left over. Service was okay. The staff were knowledgeable and able to answer our questions, but they weren't particularly attentive. We were the first table there and practically the only people dining in at the time, although they may have been handling online orders. On the plus side, we were seated immediately and our food came out really quickly. The restaurant itself has a casual, family-friendly atmosphere that works really well for groups. I could see myself coming here for dinner with friends just as easily as with family. It was also very clean, had calming music, some cool artwork on the walls, and surprisingly clean restrooms. We came around 5:30 PM and didn't need a reservation. Parking is the usual Downtown Davis situation, but if you're already parked somewhere downtown, it should be within about a 10-minute walk. Overall, this is a pretty cool spot in Davis. The portions are generous, the food is flavorful, and that crispy pork intestine alone would bring me back. I'd definitely come here again with friends.

My kid mentioned they usually are very pack and people would dine outdoor, but I guess we arrived early so there wasn't any wait time. Ordered few items, food came out very fast and the tastes are not bad at all. Beef Fried Rice Noodles: How do you differentiate if this dish is good or not, it is about how much excessive oil that's left on the plate. The stir fried was good, not too greasy, and they marinate the meat well. Unlike other Chinese restaurants, this place's meat was good. Only they could stir fried with even higher eat to create more "wok air" Sticky Rice Stick with Brown Sugar: First time trying this dish, so not sure what to expect. But it does seem to be a dessert to me, my comment would be higher if the rice stick is more chewy. Hot & Sour Shredded Potato: This is common dish from northern part of China. The way they prepared was awesome. The potato was not starchy and the seasoning is just right. A bit greasy but this is actually my favorite dish! Shrimp and Pork with Chives Dumplings: Meat is fresh and dumpling wrap is great too. Each dumpling size is not too big and wasn't torn. Taste is okay but maybe try another filling if I visit again. I would come again to try out other things on the menu if I'm visiting my kid again.

Place is adorned with symbols, cartoons and slightly odd translations, many of them repeats but amusing to read while dining. We got a couple dumpling dishes and sat down. Service is odd but it works. There are touchscreens and there's also a regular cashier. "eat with love, happy wife happy life" Hope that doesn't offend you. Probably something lost in translation so relax with the sensitivity. Ambiance vibes were minimal because I think it's summer break. If it got much busier (which I'm fairly certain it will) there would be less space to move around, obviously, but I think folks would still pile in. Dumplings were tasty and one came with a dipping sauce. They appeared to have the array of umami sauces (salty-soy, sweet-chili, spicy-cock, bitter-vinegar) along with a shaker of paprika? Don't cry about the dishware. Paper bowls for everyone! I'm sure they had forks somewhere but we never saw them. "Tea won't be drunk, but the person will" HUH? Never tried those "Freshly Made Egg Waffle" things so figured, why not. Got some chocolate guys that look like oversized bubble wrap. Thought it'd be better. Thought maybe there'd be something INSIDE the bubble. Nope. Was just kinda meh. "Sorry we won't able to have discount, but you might able to get the whole store if you hit on the boss" gives off harassment vibes. Hopefully it's just lost in translation. Chicken Cutlet with meat sauce over rice: if we are getting at least two items, this is for sure one of them. Excellent flavor on the peppery batter on the juicy chicken and the meat sauce and pickled veggies are an excellent combination. 3. Zha Jiang Mien: First time trying it. Two of us liked it. If there's no parking in front of Yang Kee you could park in the Safeway lot which is right next to the restaurant. I came with 2 other people on a Friday evening around 630pm. It was busy and bustling! We ended up waiting maybe 45 minutes for a table. There was nowhere to wait in the restaurant, but there were a couple of chairs. It was very hot outside so we didn't feel like waiting outside. Here's a tip! They have a Yelp check-in waitlist so if you have the Yelp app you can check in before you get to the restaurant. If I go here again, then I will check in from the Yelp app while I'm traveling there. The restaurant felt warm for a hot day outside. The AC was not on high enough. They also had a big fan going but it was still warm. The ambiance is casual. They don't have a large extensive menu, but after eating the food you can tell they place an emphasis on the quality of each dish. From the server, we learned that they have locations in Elk Grove and Roseville. You cannot eat in the Elk Grove restaurant and it is to go orders only. The server informed us that the Elk Grove menu is more extensive than the Davis one. Yang Kee dumpling is mainly known for their soup dumplings. They do have other Chinese dishes as well. We ordered the Yang Keep soup dumpling sampler which included two crab, two black truffle, two pork, and two shrimp loofah dumping flavors, the pan fried pork dumplings, seasonal vegetable dish, salt and pepper spare ribs, and pineapple buns. Even though it was busy and crowded right shortly after we ordered the food the food came out quickly in about 10 to 15 minutes! I tried the crab, black truffle, and shrimp, loofah dumplings. There was a lot of soup in the soup dumplings. The pan fried dumplings were also good but the exterior is a little bit hard to eat since it's tough. Also, when I bit into the exterior it seemed like the soup was hot to eat and I had to wait for it to cool. The soup dumplings were easier to eat and weren't as hot since the dough is thinner. My favorite was the black truffle and shrimp loofah. The black truffle had a very strong flavor of mushroom and had a unami taste. The shrimp loofah had big pieces of shrimp in it. There are two dipping sauces spicy chili and black vinegar/soy sauce for the dumplings. The seasonal vegetable dish came with broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and green beans. My friend did not want the carrot so we excluded the carrots from the dish. Usually it is garlic flavored but they said that we could add black bean sauce or make it spicy. We chose to add the black bean sauce. The dish still had an overall strong garlic flavor with a little bit of black bean sauce. I feel like there could've been more black bean sauce. The vegetables were very fresh. It was a simple dish and not strong in flavor but was delicious! The pork spareribs were fried and had a very crispy exterior and the pork was not dry and moist. There were onion and jalapeño toppings which added a lot of flavor to the pork. We finished all the dishes between the three of us. We also ordered the pineapple buns and they said they could bring it out at the end. The waitress said that we should order the pineapple buns when she was taking our order because sometimes they run out by the time people decide if they want to order since it was already the evening. An order comes with three buns. I love pineapple buns and they're my favorite at Asian bakeries and when I bit into it l there were small pieces of pineapple inside which was a surprise. The bun was very soft and melted in your mouth. Overall, the food is delicious and great quality and not overly salty with lots of flavor. Service was okay since it was very busy and it was warm inside and the AC wasn't cold enough but the excellent food made up for it! I will definitely come back and want to try the Elk Grove and Roseville locations. I looked at the menu for the Roseville location and the menu is larger than the Davis location.

Yang Kee in Roseville is a favorite, so we naturally wanted to enjoy the food at the Davis location. The service was close to nonexistent. Once we were seated, and given menus, it's obvious that the offerings at the Roseville location are far more extensive than they are at the Davis location. We decided to order the BBQ pork buns because it's always a go to for us, and we figured we'd peruse the menu while we were enjoying the buns. The buns arrived at the table, and they were immediately visibly noticeably different, but it wasn't until we tried them that we noticed that there's also a huge taste differential. There was very little filling compared to what we're used to. It was mostly bun, more than anything else. When the buns were placed on the table, there was no contact with us/the table to find out how we we're doing, about the food, etc. Very much felt like a churn and burn moment. Based on the lack of Customer Service, and poor food quality, we opted to not waste any more time or money, and we would find another place to dine at. Thankfully, we are closer to the Roseville location and will still continue to enjoy the food there. We definitely will not be back to this location

Ambiance and service are good, but not great. The dishes we tried were: - I12 Dan dan noodles: 5/5 super tasty and flavorful, but quite spicy - G2 Sautéed green beans: 5/5 simple but soooooo good! - D1 Griddle cooked fragnant cabbages and pork: 5/5 again pretty simple, but very tasty and well cooked! - E7 Hunan style sauteed beef: 5/5 excellent, so tender and juicy and well seasoned. - I3 Farmhouse stir fried pork with rice noodles: 4/5 very tasty, but the texture of the rice noodles were a bit too slippery for my taste. - E16 Ma Po Tofu: 4/5 the sauce was amazing, but the tofu texture was a bit too soft and strange for me. - G4 Shaoshan stir fried shredded potatoes: 3/5 I didn't have a problem with this, but didn't particularly enjoy them either. Not something to go for again. The potatoes are kind of half way cooked. - C1 Laotan boiled fish with pickled cabbage: 1/5 the fish itself was tasty, but the soup itself was super salty like drinking ocean water! I didn't like the taste of pickles in the soup either.

I wasn't prepared for the chilly day in Davis. I changed my outfit several times before we left the…read morehouse. The weather report said 65 degrees and overcast today. I went from a thin top to a medium weight sweater. We arrived in Davis I grabbed my jacket to pair with my sweater. Today was a day spent exploring Davis to see the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Arts (CCACA). What a great Conference. We come each year for this Conference and explore Davis every time we are here. After exploring the first building of the show it was coming on time to eat. We looked around the current shopping center and my husband didn't see anything he was craving. He said we'll go more into town and look for a noodle place. He said he remembered one from our last visit, down one of the alleys. Walking up the street we saw a couple of advertisements. A sandwich board was on the sidewalk for Davis Noodle CIty, the exact place we were looking for. The little Noodle Shop in the alley. We weaved through the other businesses, past the dumpling restaurant, past the outdoor seating and to the front door of the Davis Noodle City Restaurant. The out door seating looked really welcoming, but it was chilly out so we opted for eating inside with the other table that was occupied. There were 3 parties eating outside when we arrived. When we walked inside we were greeted and told to take any table. We choose a table in the corner. The menus were under the glass table top, keeping it clean and easy to read. Each place setting had its own copy of the menu. After looking at the menu, remembering what was offered on the sandwich board in front, and cross referencing it with Yelp Reviews we started ordering. We opted for the Five Spice Beef Noodles, and I asked if that was a good option and she said it was their top seller. The Yelp Reviews were only ok for that dish, but I took our chances. The second dish we ordered was the Dan Dan Noodles She tried to upscale us to the one with vegetables, but that dish was a cold dish so we when for the standard Dan Dan Noodles. Both dishes came out quickly. The Dan Dan noodles were not spicy as I anticipated, which was good, I wasn't really looking for spicy. I liked the flavor and realized that if you mixed it up there is a sauce on the bottom that is really tasty. Dan Dan Noodles ($8.25 a steal) is a solid dish and I highly reccomend it. It's a great bowlful of noodles. If you are hopping for other ingredients you are out of luck, it's 100% noodles with a sprinkling of peanuts on top and a sauce on the bottom. The Five Spice Beef Noodle Soup ($12.75)was as described in the reviews. It comes with American Broccoli and carrots. The beef is so good it melts in your mouth. The broth is minimal and lacked flavor. I'd think that it's advertised as Five Spice that it would have more flavor. I don't reccomend it if you are looking for a strong flavor. If you are looking for great meat, that melts in your mouth, but is also a little fatty then you have the perfect dish. Both dishes came with fresh noodles, none of those dried and rehydrated noodles that some places serve. The noodles on both dishes were different and pleasant. I highly reccomend their fresh noodles. Customer service was good. She came to check up on us and was pleasant. Parking is street parking. And they have a bathroom on site that is clean and well stocked.
