Do you like chaos? Kids pushing through you? Sticky things everywhere? Then come on down to Sky…read moreZone in Shawnee! This place is, expectedly, chaotic. This is probably the origin of the phrase, 'the kids are bouncing off the walls.' Found ourselves here for a birthday party on a particularly busy winter Sunday afternoon. We've been to other trampoline parks, but again, this one has that sort of extra unhinged energy. It's not quite as expansive as some. It's almost like a dog park for kids. You let them out to run wild for a bit, and hope they tire themselves out enough not to bug you at 8:30 that night. For some kids it's great. Mine like it well enough, but they'll never beg to come here. They like things a little more quiet and zen (they are my kids after all). But I see how it can be fun every so often. Definitely a place parents in the area will find via birthday party or winter boredom at some point.

The teen who checked us in was nice and explanatory. I found a place to sit and watch our belongings while the kids played. They had a good time playing, but the six-year-old did twist her ankle a bit. I purchased the 90 minute play pass and three pairs of socks and it came to $84. I kept looking for people who worked there and I only saw one other male teen walking around briefly and then start working behind the snack counter. My oldest granddaughter said there was one person watching the dodgeball area, but that was it. I think they do need more people that watch for infractions of the rules because those infractions tend to get other kids hurt. Also, some kids took over play areas and were on specific cloth swings for a whole hour when their rules when you sign in specifically say not to do that. I would say that the place is more suited for ages 10 and up because there were even quite a few teens there. Also, no one is really rotating the people out for the shorter play passes so the amount of kids just keeps getting larger.

Better than I thought it would be. I was expecting one of those insanely overstimulated,…read moreoverpacked, oversugared kid-energy kind of experiences but this was... pleasant? Dare I say, kind of fun? We went to a kids birthday party out this way, and when I say out this way, I mean it's a HAUL from where we are in the city. Try to keep track of the beige and uniform buildings as you go by, it feels like you're in an infinite loop of personality-less structures. Eventually the sameness will blend into more sameness, although this will have a sign for Urban Air and you've made it. It's almost a throwback to the Discovery Zone birthday parties of the 90's from the outside, and from the inside for that matter. It wasn't too busy when we were there on a Saturday morning, and my kids really had to soak it all in and get their nerves out to start. Once they found the smaller kids area of tunnels and ball pits, the ice broke and the fun flowed out. There's VR machines, bumper cars, trampolines, more intense trampolines, gymnastics style trampolines, and even some sort of fun sky swing thing that looks like it's for much older kids but isn't. Kind of hard to get bored in here if you're between 4-12, I'd imagine. On the birthday front, they had pizza, a private room, and someone dedicated to running the party who did a nice job. I won't be rushing back, but I will file this away for those late January/February days when the shine of winter is off and you're desperate to get the kids out of the house. Fun overall!

Well, we had two 7-year-olds and a 9-year-old wait in line for over 45 minutes for the Sky Swing…read more(line is set way back from parents) only to find out that a bunch of teenage girls were cutting in front of them, cussing at them, threatening them and telling them to stop looking back at their daddy or they would "eff them up." They then proceeded to say no one would help them because they were white and the workers were "their people." Absolutely insane to hear this from these little kids. Staff was useless as they are all young have no clue how to handle a situation. It's sad to see this place go to the gutter like this. I hope management hires adults who can control the chaos.
