A few friends recommended Mildred's so i decided to give it a shot, and i will say, i regret not coming here earlier. The desserts were fresh and tasted good. However, the breakfast sandwiches were by far my favorite! The texture of the eggs was a mixture of fluffy and almost firm, and the sauces paired well with each sandwich. I would recommend the Standard Sandwich out of the trio (we got the sausage+egg and the chipotle burrito too) as it was the most balanced in my opinion. Service is just what you expect, it was fairly quick despite the morning rush and the staff was incredibly nice. They also have upstairs and outdoor seating so it didn't feel too crammed. What can I say? I'm a sucker for Mildred's whether it's in their OG location or this new-ish one in South Plaza. It really hits every time. Today I popped in for a meeting and I was just as excited to connect with a colleague as I was to explore this Mildred's location. The first thing I noticed is that they have validated parking in the attached garage which made getting in a breeze. Once inside, despite it being in a more industrial building, it still feels warm, bright, and airy just like any other Mildred's location. The baristas were insanely kind, the banana bread I had absolutely delicious, and the coffee hit on all levels - no cream needed. My favorite part though was how bright this space was. It really was flooded with natural light and made for a welcoming space to work for the morning. I'd 100% return for another meeting, or just to get out of the house and soak up some natural light while getting some work done. read more

Stopped in today for a bite, I had a half ham and Swiss sandwich, the bread was perfect not too thick not too thin, plenty of ham on it, the pickle was crunchy and yummy. I absolutely loved the sandwich. I got a side order of pasta salad and it was huge! Vinegary and delicious, the pasta was cooked perfectly al Dente as well! The black mango iced tea was perfect for me since I don't care for sweet teas at all. And the chocolate chip cookie was so soft and yummy! I found easy out front street parking available. Mildred's is one of my favorite breakfast spots and this spot is just as good! They will validate parking in the attached garage, but be warned that the validation did not work for 2/3 of the cars in our group ($10 each). This location has so much seating. We especially enjoyed the large table upstairs that accommodated nine. When you order, your food is delivered to your table but your name is called at the counter if you order a coffee. The food here is fantastic. Everyone in our group loved what they ordered, I'm always recommending the chipotle turkey wrap!! Another solid stop for breakfast. read more

Mildred's is one of my absolute favorite local spots. I recently tried this newest location for the first time. The interior is very nice and modern. There's two floors for seating. I ordered The Standard on jalapeño bread, which is one of my most frequent orders at the downtown location. The service was quick. You get a buzzer and someone brings out the food to where you are seated. The sandwich was amazing as usual. It's great to see Mildred's expand and have continued success. Grabbed a lil sumthing close by the library. Options are around you just never know about until you got a craving... bacon! Yup bacon! I had the Breakfast hash which I will admit I didn't expect what I got even though I saw the ingredients.. well lol I read the most important ones! It was all good! Really even the arugula. It was all layered, plenty of everything and I really appreciated how the bacon was chopped and whole slices layered. For me, it was just enough chipotle aioli too.. and just enough cheddar cheese. The Bacon breakfast sandwich was a hit with a teenager who too had a bacon craving. It was packed full of eggs .. those especially good steamed Eggs! It's nice to have so many bread options too! What a cool little hangout. A couple of tables had retirees telling stories and catching up. A few other tables had professionals who were doing a little work. Then there was me - somebody who should have been at work, but was spending a fleeting moment alone before heading back to the cage. Good food. Solid staff. I love Mildred's other locations and I was really excited to try this new spot. There is plenty of seating with more spot upstairs. I ordered the standard sandwich on a jalapeño bun and a spinach feta croissant. I love the standard and really enjoyed their jalapeño bun. The spinach feta croissant was really good as well and I would order both again. Service was very quick and we did not have a long wait for the sandwich to be ready. New Mildred's location just dropped!!!! Mildred's creates the BEST breakfast sandwiches and burritos in Kansas City, and I will defend that statement to the death. This new location is just as consistently delicious as the other two. Mildred's has made perfect use of what used to be the South Plaza Mission Taco. There is tons of seating both upstairs and on the main level. Order at the counter immediately inside the door, and then take your order number to a table with you. To-go and online orders appear on the bar to the right of the counter by the stairs. My go-to order is the vegetarian sandwich on ciabatta with bacon added, but there is literally nothing on this menu that I won't devour over and over again. The unique, fluffy, and delicious steamed eggs are Mildred's gift to the world. The service is always phenomenal, and then food comes out hot and quick. This location, like the others, is packed on the weekends, but tables turn over pretty fast. Highly worth the wait! I love Mildred's!!!! read more

We always love stopping by Mildred's. This is their newest and third location. I like being able to dine in or take our food and drink to-go. I always get an iced vanilla latte, biscuits and gravy, and a gooey butter pastry. My husband loves the Chipotle breakfast burrito. The coffee and pastry selection is great. If you're eating in, there's an upstairs seating section which makes this location unique. The morning sunlight is always super pretty too! What a welcome addition to the South Plaza neighborhood! Great coffee, a nice space to work or meet, and some amazing pastries and breakfast sandwiches to round it out. I have always been a Mildred's fan, especially in the days when I worked from coffee shops regularly. Some coffee shops come with a lot of pretense, but not Mildred's. They're true to who they are, vibes are good, and food and drink are top notch across the board. Had a meeting here this morning (can't believe I forgot to take pics, will change that next time) and sat upstairs. Lots of room to sit, good WiFi, and the black coffee has me ready to run through a wall. Some may not love the tight parking garage connected to this, but it's nice to know you can get a spot. Many mornings you're bound to find something on the street or in the surrounding area with ease, I'd imagine. Hope to update this with more details as I continue to explore my way through their menu here, but this is an established KC brand bringing a great concept to a great area, that just so happens to be easy for me to get to regularly. read more

The second visit I chose the vegetarian breakfast sandwich which was disappointing to me. Today, I ordered the vegetarian quiche and salad. Hello Mildred's, Being a customer at your Crossroads location for thelast few years, I thought of wishing I could go there today from where I was and continuing South. Being in the Plaza, my friend told me that your Plaza location recently opened. Great, let's go there. Always open to a new experience and much closer to where I live. Here are the Pro's and Con's. The only Pro was we found it. The Con's were as follows. Couldn't find a parking spot in front as I am Disabled and there was enough room for two cars to park at the front door however there was snow and ice that never was removed. Having a retail business in NYC, whenever it snowed and there were times that it snowed a lot, I made sure that there was a path from the street to the curb cleared for customers to find there way onto the sidewalk to my business,. If there was ice or snow buildup in the street parking spots, I would get out my shovel and move the snow to make it easier for potential customers to park. If I waited for the city to do that I would be waiting for nothing. So no parking spots. I googled the phone number and called the phone number listed for that location to find out if they offered validated parking in the building garage. I got a recording saying that the number wasn't a working number or such. I found I found a spot further down the street and finally made it in. After looking at the menu I approached the counter to ask about a sandwich and how it was prepared, The female person with a Red Chiefs shirt on and big square glasses on her head blurted out "What do you want to order?" First of all I asked if they validate parking and she snapped back "Yes". I told her that I tried calling but the number I called had a recording that it was a non-working number. She said we've only been open 2 weeks and we don't have a website."I wasn't ready to order as I wanted to find out more about a sandwich I haven't had. She said "what's there to know, it's up on the board" She told me the ingredients which I told her I already know that as I wanted to know how it was prepared. Was it warm, cold, dressing, panini, etc. My question seemed to exhaust her. Her tone was very arrogant and hurtful as I am not able to respond an process as I use to when I was younger. I was amazed how i was welcomed with all of that. I sat down and forgot that I wanted some water. I asked the young blond girl near the kitchen if I could get some cold water and she told me that I would have to get it from the front counter and arrogantly walked away from me. Wow! As I was walking back to the counter both the cashier and the other young girl behind the counter were whispering to each other and both were looking directly at me. Double Wow!!! So.. your restaurant is in the hospitality business. You are suppose to make your guest welcomed. How were these women chosen to be part of your team? Or are they the owners and feel they can say or be whatever they want to a customer? If they are not the owners, then as employee's they are suppose to be representing your brand with kindness and a warm welcoming smile. The young blond women made me feel she couldn't be bothered as she walked away. Well I have to say I have been to many restaurants in my life and around to world, This is the worst place I have been to. I'm sure the sandwich could have been a great sandwich but how could you enjoy a sandwich when you were left with the feeling we left with.
