It's been a long time since I've written a review here. But since I got the recommendation from yelp. Here you go. Oh my! Love it when I stumble into absolute goodness I've been to a fried chicken joint a time or two. Even found a few diamonds among broken glass. This joint however, they got it right Nestled in what looks like an industrial zone and a kin to dive a bar and an AA meeting place, is Humble Bird. A straight basic fried chicken joint that serves out Memphis hot sandos that are juicy, warm, and oh, so good. Definitely in my top five. Definitely. I did medium heat, which really wasn't warm to me, but it was flavorful and you could actually taste the floral of peppercorn. The pickles were crunchy and the slaw had something secret. I'm thinking it was reddish added, but I'm not sure. Either way it was great and went perfect on the sandwich . I also got a side of their spiced up fries and, though I'm not a big fries guy, these are spot on. The chef that came up with this mix of spices and herbs, nailed it. It's definitely not close to me, but I would definitely find a way to return. Probably try the cheese melt chicken sando next Whomever lives near here or if YOU happen to in the area, try it. Awesome chicken place! Like other reviews say, the wait time is long as every thing is made fresh to order. We originally ordered the bone-in fried chicken but were quoted 35 minutes. We switched to a sandwich and were quoted a 15 minute wait time, but our food still took over 30 minutes to come out. The vibes are simple, with minimal decor and clean interior. We got the hot chicken sando, Humble fries, and fried pickles. Everything came out hot, juicy, and flavorful. Best fried pickles I've had, and you can tell the coleslaw isn't some bagged mix! I will note that the "hot" spice level felt like a medium, but maybe my spice tolerance is high. We also met one of the owners, Luis! Luis was so kind and chatted with us for a bit. He even gave us a few free banana nut muffin cookies! Will be back. Awesome place to go to- just order ahead if you can! read more

This was a great find for chicken! We each had a Sando and split a mac & cheese side. Good sized sandwich and with the side, it was perfect. We both did Medium spicy, and I would definitely spice up next time. Mac & Cheese was pretty tasty, too. Nothing fancy, just a good side. Fried Chicken looked good at next table and I might try that next time. No fdills, but it's clean and comfortable inside, and looks like they have some outdoor seating, but it was raining when we visited. Service was super friendly and helpful. read more

Stopped by here for dinner on the way up north and I was happily surprised! The shop was empty when I went on a Thursday at 6, but quickly filled up after. I ordered the classic sando with mild spice and their loaded fries to share. Everything was made fresh to order, so it did take a little longer but definitely worth the wait. The chicken was so juicy and crispy on the outside. The fries were also really yummy and seasoned well. Service was super friendly as well! Wanted a chicken sandwich so decided to check this place out and it didn't disappoint. We were greeted the moment we walked in which I loved. I obviously got their sando and decided to get a mild spice level. For drinks they have canned sodas or their house made lemonade so I of course had to get that as well. They were kind enough to give us an estimate of how long it would take which I appreciated. From the moment my sandwich hit was placed on the table I knew it was going to be good but it was honestly way better than I expected. I had never had a chicken sandwich with onions before but I wasn't mad at it, it worked so well. The chicken had really good flavor and we actually really wanted to take home some popcorn chicken for later but the sandos were so filling that we didn't end up doing that, we will be back to try it tho! I would also recommend their house lemonade, you can get soda anywhere but not everywhere has really good house made lemonade. We will most definitely be back here again! read more

I came here yesterday ( 5/16/26), I was going to get a massage later and I thought I get something quick and I Yelp fried chicken, this place popped up. I never had Nashville chicken before so why not try it. I parked in the back, plenty of parking, just don't park all the way up to the back of the restaurant because it seems like is for double parking. Girl, if someone parked behind you, you're stuck until they come out and move lol when I walk into the restaurant, it was tiny, is just a couple of tables and chairs. But I'm assuming lots of people don't eat inside, I see a lot of to go orders and when I ordered the small chicken, it consisted of 1 leg 1 wing 1 thigh and 1 breast for $16, with tax, is less than $18, I usually don't tip for to go orders but I just gave them what is left of my $20 in the tip jar. It took awhile like 25 minutes, I thought I might be late for my massage appointment 10 minutes away and I had to find street parking. Luckily they made it just in time for me to get to my appointment and ate a couple of bites into the leg, first bite, it has a familiar taste because of the hot sauce. I couldn't put my finger on it until the 3 rd bite, is the Tapatio hot sauce. I might be wrong but that tingly burning sensation on my lips, I know is that hot sauce cuz I put it on most of my food lol. The chicken sits on 2 pieces of white bread, maybe is for soaking up the hot sauce and grease from the chicken ?. And a couple of slices of pickles. After my massage, I continue eating the thigh and wing, is great with the dipping sauce. Overall, it was good chicken, the service was nice also, the guys working there are super friendly. And did o mentioned that the chicken was huge pieces and they fried it when you order it, that's why it took so long but is worth the wait. I would recommend coming here. read more

The food was not bad, my issue was the price. We ordered two chicken nugget cups with no sides, a chicken sandwich with fries, the chicken nugget/fries combo plate, and no drinks. That total came to $80. Add in delivery fee and tip, that pushed it to $95. For chicken nuggets and a sandwich. The food wasn't $100 great for a fast food restaurant. My server Mason was incredibly attentive, accommodating and made me feel so welcomed. He knows the menu well and answered all my questions with confidence. My first thought was, even if the food isn't great, I will come back because of the service. Well the food is great and the service EXCELLENT! At the end of my meal I met Marvin equally as pleasant and welcoming. These two young men are gems. They both have exceptional people skills. Another friend chicken place although this is actually very well seasoned and crispy, and at the same time very tender and juicy pieces. I usually get their popcorn nuggets which are delicious and sometimes served in a popcorn themed basket with pickles on top. Get it medium for a perfectly balanced flavor. They also have chicken and waffles and a grilled cheese sandwich though have not tried it. This is also mostly a pick up and take out place, with a few chairs and tables which look like they are mainly for waiting to pick up your order. Service could be a bit more timely though you can't rush a good thing that needs to be made. read more

Found humble bird while searching for a place to eat dinner at and I am so glad we made this stop. Customer service is great. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming. We ordered the Nashville nugs and the humble melt with a side of fries. We all got the medium spice level and I will say it's pretty spicy. I love spice so it didn't bother me but if you're not a super spice lover I would definitely stick with the mild or no spice. The flavor is amazing! That humble melt is so delicious! The perfect combination of hot chicken and coleslaw I also enjoyed how the slaw is made with no mayo and the fresh raw onion is honestly the cherry on top! This is honestly one of the best hot chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Top tier! The fries are also very yummy! Well seasoned, not too soggy not too crunchy perfection! Everything is so fresh and made to order so it will take about 20 minutes or more to make (I am assuming depending on how busy they are) The ambience is pretty chill but I will say the bathrooms need some TLC they were a little dirty. Had a really tough day and decided to treat myself to delivery (normally, I do pick up to support the business). After debating what I wanted, I decided on fried chicken sandwich. The 'where' was the second hurdle, as I was visiting to help out my fam. On the delivery app, the reviews rarely reflect those that are on Yelp. Humble Bird had consistent high marks, so I put in my order. I got a fried chicken sandwich (medium) and an order of fries w/ side of their sauce. Upon opening the bag and box, and it looked so delicious. However, someone forgot to pack the sauce for the fries. I was so hungry that I didn't miss the sauce too much, but I still would have liked to try it. Spice level worked out well for me and all the flavors were great. I wish there was a bit more slaw, but that's just me. I was worried the fries would be soggy, but they were also great and still had some crisp. Pulled up on a Sunday 11:30 and grabbed two sandos. One medium and one mild. Medium has a small kick but nothing too intense. Everything is made to order and you can tell the staff take great care of each order. The sandos are delicious and the ingredients are clearly a cut above your average fried chicken sando and the lemonade was quite refreshing! Yes!!! This place is the business when it comes to fried chicken sandwich, in my opinion. The wife and I stopped by here one day while out shopping for pots and planters. I had the humble melt and it was the bomb!! Sandwich was moist, with a crunchy outside and full of flavor. I felt like it blew Dave's Hot Chicken out the water and it's a small neighborhood business so that's another plus. Staff was friendly from the moment we walked in and place was kept very clean. A few friends and I tried nearly everything on the menu, and not a single miss. Every bite hit the spot. What made it even better was the hospitality. Brandon, the owner, came out to check on every table, made sure everyone was happy, and you could tell he really takes pride in what he's built. Humble might be in the name, but their flavors are not. Like smashburgers, birria, and pinkberry before it, Nashville hot chicken was a fad that came and went. I didn't care for it much then and I still don't now...but great chicken is great chicken and Humble Bird might have some of the best fried chicken in town. What attracted us first was their classic fried chicken sandwich, but the other things we ordered might be the things that make us stay and come back often. For our first visit, we got a sampling of just about everything. An order of fries...popcorn chicken...fried pickles...a half fried chicken...and of course their Nashville Sando. The sando is as simple as it gets...a perfectly fried, breaded, flattened chicken breast...seasoned to your preferred heat level...topped with slaw and pickles and a little bit of their comeback sauce, in between a potato/brioche bun. While it all seems simple and basic, the flavors are anything but. The sweetness and yeastiness of the bun is the first thing you taste, followed by a rush of sour and sweet from the pickles and slaw (which is vinegar based!), and then you get the savory kick of spice from the moist, fried chicken. The flavors come one after the other and you taste it all until they balance each other out into a perfect bite of food. Sometimes there's only one or two perfect bites of a sandwich, but all the bites were perfect. For the sando, we got the medium, which I think is the right amount of heat ...enough to make you sweat a little, but not enough to make you regret it. If you're daring, they have two levels higher that use ghost peppers and whatnot, but why? Save your taste buds and enjoy other things on the menu...like the popcorn chicken. At the end of the day, it's just chicken breast cubed up, breaded, and fried...but like the sando, it's cooked to perfection. Along side with the fries, it's a great meal. Their fries are crispy, also got a bit of batter on them, and spiced to perfection. I prefer dipping them in ranch, which they make and is amazing, but it's also great in their comeback sauce. If you want something fried that isn't a potato, try the fried pickles. Breaded similarly to the fried chicken, it's a crispy, hot twist on these savory crunchy pickle chips that are usually just served on the side. Even after a quick 5 minute drive home and another 5 or so minutes before we ate them, it still tasted like they just came out of the fryer. Located between a dive bar and a weed store, Humble Bird is definitely a blink and miss it kind of place...but once you've had a bite of their food, it's an eye opening experience...and one you'll want to have again and again. read more

New customer experience, my work is nearby this place and I'm a big hot chicken guy. Love Dave's hot chicken and howlin rays, so this place near my work excited me. First impressions was the price of food, I ordered just the Sando because it was 16$ just by itself would've loved fries with that price but hey if the chicken is worth the price let's find out. I didn't dislike it but it definitely wasn't worth the price by itself. Chicken wasn't juicy or crunchy nothing compared like howlin rays, but the spice had a good kick to it I liked better than Dave's extra hot spice level. I got the nuggies with a mild rub and it was very good but hotter than expected lol. I had to dunk those nuggies in the Mac n cheese to make to take that heat down a notch. Lady got the sandwich with the hot rub and she loved it! But she also likes things extremely hot. The staff was friendly and great! If you want refreshing lemonade (or cactus cooler, like how often do you see those!) And fresh made to order Nashville chicken then this is THE spot. I got the sando medium spice, fries and a lemonade. Their nashville was perfect not a sugar bomb like other places and medium was as described enough heat to bite but not hurt. Staff was helpful and attentive. And dining room was cozy, clean and plenty of seating. I really liked that theyre not blasting music so loud that you cant think. 10/10 would come again read more
