We need more places like this. This was my second time at k-pub and I brought my girlfriend to make sure I wasn't over-hyping it. Amazing prices and GREAT food. By this point I've had over half of their yakitori options (pork belly is peak), and tonight we also had the seaweed radish salad, corn cheese, homemade kimchi, and for entrees-Jjapaghetti, and Sausage Spicy Buldak. My girlfriend can be picky but LOVED everything especially the Jjapaghetti. I had the buldak and while suuuuuper spicy tasted awesome and I ate it gladly through the pain. The two servers were awesome and I wish I caught their names because they deserve a shoutout. Super attentive and made sure I knew just how spicy the buldak was, while also letting us know about their soju/beer specials. Empty plates were rarely on our table for over a minute. I can't stress this enough- I wish more places were like this. read more

I finally decided to try the fried chicken wings. However, unlike most Korean restaurants, they don't include pickled diakon with the chicken. It's $5 extra. I didn't really need this much for 8 chicken wings. In fact, none of the main dishes come with Banchan. It is at least $5 extra each. The menu has expanded since my last visit. K-Pub came up on a search for late lunch in NoHo, and the menu looked promising, so I swung by at about 3pm on a Wednesday. I was the only customer (though 2 more joined before I finished), and was given the opportunity to sit wherever I wanted. The dark wooden interior with assorted lanterns and decor work to transport you to Asia, and the friendly service quickly puts you at ease. As this was lunch, and I had a meeting after, I didn't opt for any liquor, but they have a nicely curated menu of Sake, Sochu and Beers at the usual prices. They offer a menu of lunch specials, also at very reasonable prices, but I wanted to try some other things, so I went rogue into the regular list of dishes. The one disappointment: skewers aren't available until after 5pm, and I would have liked to have tried several of those. That said, I ordered the Steamed Dumplings in Chili Oil, and the Boneless Korean Fried Chicken dressed with Soy & Garlic. The dumplings are very prettily plated, with thin slivers of scallion and cilantro, and the filling was subtly (and pleasantly) favored -- however, the sauce wasn't 100% to my liking. There was an overriding taste of tomato that seemed out of place, and tended to offset the Asian seasoning too much. The chef said there was no specific tomato in the sauce, but then opined "maybe it's the ketchup in the gochujang." It's not that it was terrible, but it just threw the flavor off, making this version of the dish less enjoyable than at other places around town. The Korean Fried Chicken was crispy, juicy, and piping hot, with a nicely seasoned coating. The portion was very generous (I brought half home), and the plating was, again, quite pretty. But once again, to me, the sauce came up short. It was a tad too sweet and much thicker than usual, once again overpowering the rest of the dish. I think the chef (no offense intended) may need a little mentoring in balance. Regardless of these few complaints, I found the food to be inherently fresh, carefully made, beautifully presented, and thoughtful, even if I didn't always agree with what they were thinking. I'm still intrigued by the interestingly described skewers, and plan to return to give those a try later -- and at a later time of day, so I can enjoy some sake and beer on the side. Go ahead, stop in -- the friendly people deserve your attention, and you'll surely enjoy the transportive environment. read more

My family and I had lunch at K-Pub for the first time and everything we had were delicious; shishito pepper, seaweed radish salad, kimchi fried rice, sweet and spicy fried boneless chicken and minced pork rice bowl. We were also offered a side of kimchi and picked radish at no extra charge! Our server was friendly, as well as the man and woman in the kitchen area. Everything on their menu is reasonably priced. Love the vibe here! Kpop music videos playing the background and the wooden seating and setup are a mix of modern and traditional. I wish more rice cake came in the dukbokki but it was still really good! It comes with ramen noodles and the sauce was great so we ordered another round of ramen noodles to add to the sauce. All the skewers were amazing. My favorites were the pork belly and gizzards. Everyone got corn cheese twice. The food overall was great and they offer a variety of alcohol. The food here is great for sharing and drinking with friends. Parking is really easy to find in the neighborhood. Went to K-Pub tonight and all the food was very delicious! We got the steamed shrimp shumai, seafood pancake, tteokbokki, short rib yakatori, and chicken thigh yakatori. The portions were very large! All of this food for two people was way too much honestly, if we came with two more it would've been perfect. I took off two stars because 1. The short rib yakatori was very salty. Flavorful, but salty. Also we had to wait an extremely long time for our chicken thigh yakatori skewers. The chicken also needed the salt that the short rib had. Overall everything tasted very fresh, and I'll be happy to give K-pub another shot in the future. read more

Located in noho arts district area, plenty of street parking that is metered. Stopped by on a Friday evening and I sat at the bar section. Wooden interior is lively and decorated with neon lights, high ceilings, tables for big groups too. Cute set up inside overall. Cons: one napkin initially served on a plate and the small aluminum cup of water. Please give access to napkins especially when eating your wings, they can be messy. I had to ask waiter for more. Also, only one waiter on the floor so it takes time to get your food out to your table. Unfortunately for me, I was not impressed with the taste of the food that I ordered. It tasted just "ok" but not to the point where I left amazed or full. I ordered their Cajun French fries but they were very mildly seasoned and some of the fries were greasy. 2/5 I also ordered 8 piece wings with bone in. Their wings are thick but because of the bone--and meat lacks, plus it was dry not moist inside. The outer portion of the wings-that tasted good the sauce I ordered was "sweet and spicy" felt like the breading was thick and like I said, each bite barely had meat in it. 2/5 I didn't finish both dishes and paid $26 out the door and still a tad bit hungry. I spent more time waiting for my order to come out than eating it. As I left, I wasn't acknowledged. Alcohol license still pending....That's all for now. read more

I love how the restaurant transformed the space into a "Pocha". Great ambiance. You can either order from the QR code on the table, or with the server. If you have a sensitive tongue, this is probably not the restaurant for you as many of the dishes are spicy! I do have to say that they had a touch too much garlic. The Chili Garlic Chicken was great - it had a touch of sweetness from the gochujang which made it almost sweet and hot. The Army Stew Hot Pot was very large and filling, but the taste was only okay. I am a little disappointed as it lists sausage and pork belly, but those were not there. Instead, there were cut pieces of what tasted and looked like hot dog. $30 was quite overpriced for this dish. Seriously Crunchy DELICIOUS wings. Pricey at $21 for 6, but mad respect for the quality of both the bird and sauce. On the recommendation of the delightfully friendly host, I landed on the Honey Lemon wings, not my first choice, but I don't wanna be that guy that asks for a recommendation and goes in another direction. So glad I did. Major benefit of this dish - they caramelize the sauce so the longer it sits the gunkier it gets. I know that sounds gross, but it's the added care they give their food that makes all the difference. You need a spoon to scrape up every last bit of that sauce. They're open late, so that's great, easy street parking. Definitely check them out. read more

We had read the reviews and were looking forward to experiencing this local spot. We arrived and were sat by friendly staff. We ordered a couple sodas that were served in cans with a cup. My wife really wanted to try some of their skewers but we were told that they couldn't serve yakitori until after 6pm (it was 5:45 and almost 2 hrs after opening). We then asked if we could order some fried chicken that we had seen on other yelp reviews but were told the menu changed the previous day and they no longer served it. We ended up ordering the fried rice and boneless honey lemon chicken. The serving proportions are on the smaller side. My wife ended the night ordering the Lychee on ice dessert which ended up looking and tasting like they just dumped the can of lychee over ice. Recently opened in bustling North Hollywood, K-Pub offers popular Korean fare. Tonight, we had the Kimchi Tofu with Pork, Japchae, Radish Seaweed, and House Made Kimchi. Each dish was amazing, truly showcasing the uniqueness and complexity of Korean food! Our server was very helpful in answering our questions about the menu, and advised us of the portion sizes to prevent us from ordering more than we really needed. Despite the current menu, K-Pub just received its alcohol license, so you can enjoy an adult beverage with your meal. I had been coming to this location for years when it was Dragon Street, so just say I was shocked when I drove by and saw a new restaurant in this location, but I was also excited to see what K-pub was offering. The look, vibe and ambience are all drastically different, but in a good way. It was updated and stylish, but with a cool 'hangout' vibe. The staff was pleasant, the menu had some great options, the food was very tasty and I think this place definitely has a place in NoHo. Went here at midnight one night with a friend and they were very friendly but the second dish they forgot to bring for 20 minutes until we reminded him where it's at and he said oh sorry it was sitting right there I forgot to bring it. Don't blame the guy it was very late but the chefs or whoever put it there could've said something or how did he not notice after 20 minutes that it was still sitting there. We were the only people at the restaurant at that moment. Food was mid. But still a decent spot that's open late. First time dining at this restaurant. I appreciated the seating layout, especially for a fairly large group. The atmosphere was inviting and the restaurant was clean. Unfortunately, the food portions were small for the price, and everything we ordered was very salty. We had one army soup, two shrimp fried rice, one and a half orders of fried chicken, sticky rice cake, glass noodles, kimchi, and 4 can sodas. After spending about $170, our party of seven was still hungry, and the saltiness made it hard to eat more. Service was a bit awkward. The waiter consistently placed all the dishes on my son's side of the table, handed him the check, and even returned the receipt to him after my husband paid with his credit card. The empty plates sat on the table way too long and he never checked to see if our water canister was empty. By word of mouth, I found this nice Korean pub in North Hollywood's arts district. Once you're inside, it has the cozy feel of an old school sushi bar. I had the honey lemon chicken paired with a kimchi salad, both of which were really good.....and maybe it was because I was the only guest in there at the time (around 1pm), but the service was friendly and efficient, with a rather short wait time. My only complaint (and this is a small one): they don't serve banchan with the chicken, as I had to order the kimchi salad separately. New restaurant replacing the Dragon Street Chinese. I decided to give them a try with the Christmas special that is only for online orders. The special is buy the minced pork fried rice get the next one free. So to be fair, I was only there to pickup and not staying to eat. The lady in the open kitchen yelled to sit anywhere. Not sure if this normal or not, but when I continued to wait there that should be a clue that I was there for a pickup. The first impression of the fried rice is that the minced pork is an after thought on the top instead of mixed in. The sauce that is used to flavor the fried rice is overpowering. It would be better that the sauce was less to be more enjoyable. Also, the serving size was much smaller than expected for the price. We visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty empty for lunch time. We got three different flavor wings (original, soy garlic and honey lemon). The chicken was super crispy and juicy. We were surprised by the cinnamony taste for the chicken. It wasn't for us, but it was still tasty. My brother got the pork ramen which was okay. A friend suggested I check out this new place near me, and man was I in for a treat. Service: top notch. Our server always refilled our cups with water at just the right temperature. She suggested I get the pork rice, which did not disappoint! I had enough to take home for leftovers. Food: sensational. Friends and I split the 16 piece chicken. While the original is good, definitely mix up the sauces and see what you can get! I can't recommend the soy garlic enough. In addition to the rice bowl, I also sampled the ramen and kimchi pork. Finally an authentic Korean chicken spot in NoHo Arts District! Sweet and spicy wings were juicy, crunchy and savory-sweet. A nice play on traditional gochujang. Army stew was full of flavor with pork, spam, tofu and sausage. We added noodles to it by request. Tteokbokki was excellent and the kimchi fried rice had a great tang. Their kimchi was excellent (seemed homemade). Our only gripe about the food is that the banchan is at a separate cost which veers from traditional Korean spots like in KTown but they were generous portions and the flavor was on point. The ambiance was cool. Definitely looks like a sushi spot turned Korean bar food restaurant but it seems like a soft opening with parts of the interior and exterior under renovation. Overall a comfortable, cozy vibe. We loved seeing Korean Aunties in the kitchen making the food. Our server was still learning but very kind and helpful. There was only one server so he was spread thin. Hopefully in time K-Pub will have the crowd to hire more help. In general, a great spot to get some Korean classics.
