Updated review: This place has gone way down since the last time I went a couple of years ago. No one greeted us when we came in. We weren't asked to wait while the cashier/cook helped another customer either. We ordered the grilled cheese that was on the menu but was told that they did not have pepper Jack cheese but could substitute with mozzarella cheese. The sandwiches were supposed to be made with ciabatta bread but when we got them, they were just on regular slices of wheat bread. The bread was extremely dry and tasted like cardboard. Had we known they wouldn't be made on ciabatta, we might have ordered something else. So essentially, we paid $10 each for a tasteless grilled Cheese we could've made better at home. The dining area seemed run down. Bottom line, over priced, from The $5 can of juice to the $10 cheese sandwich. Not recommended.

I drive around LA for Jamaican patties (specifically curry chicken ones) and this hands down the best patty shop in LA. Fresh, crispy and a lot of filling!!!

Holyyy Fiiiire!! This legit. One bite of the jerk bowl and I was in NY. But I'm in Burbank, wuuut. This the kind of dish that I will no way listen to some influencer in West LA talk like they know flavorful food. Like at first bite, it zapped my brain to some memory a decade ago. Smoky and the type of spicy that chilis, peppercorns, and curry deliver. What exactly do they put and how they made it? I dunno. But my gahhd, please do not change the spiciness for people. Be your real spicy self you delish bowl. Look when I go outside in 2026, I want to know quickly who someone is and this bowl kept it real about what it is. Like bam! Jerk chicken in yer face. The rice and everything else complemented well. Be. This. Real. Peace!

Let me start by saying I was very skeptical about this place. I love beef patties. I'm from New York. I grew up eating beef patties with cheese and CoCo bread and getting them on Jamaica Avenue in Queens. I know a good beef patty when I taste one. My husband kept passing this place when we moved to Burbank and suggested we pull up. When we got there. I saw the exterior and honestly it reminded me of a food truck. When we got inside I was like oh we need more decor; we need more of a look. We need more of a vibe. My expectations were getting lower, but I decided to give it a try. I ordered a bunch of patties and two different kinds of stuffed patties. I believe I had the Philly cheesesteak stuffed patty and the chopped cheese patty. Maybe it was like the New Yorker or something; anyway, it took a while for the food to come out. I'm talking maybe 30 minutes. But whatever things happen. It didn't look like they had a lot of business that afternoon. I got the food and I was like please make it work. Let me tell y'all these patties were delicious. They got the meat right in the beef patty. It was nicely ground and soft and warm and spicy just delicious. I also love the chopped cheese stuffed patty. I've never really had anything like that, but I tried it and it was just delightful. I love the lettuce and tomatoes in there and how it all came together like a little cute Panini. I wasn't a big fan of the Philly cheesesteak stuffed patty however, I could see how some people might like it. I don't think I'll be getting that again. I will definitely be returning to this establishment. It seems like a cool place to get like 12 patties for a birthday party or something like that. The only reason it's getting four stars from me would be the decor. It needs something and needs more and I also felt like it took a little long to get my patties, but even though it took a while once I got them totally worth it. The food was great. I'll be back.

Great, healthy place for lunch! I was at a doctor's appointment and wanted to get lunch. Hubby wanted something light so I ordered from here. Got him a salad and got myself a protein bowl, but also some fries. Went to pick it up, business was in a complex. Parking was easy as it wasn't super busy. Lady got my order and rang me up - didn't say much. Food was fresh - fries even felt healthier than normal. Overall a good place for a healthy lunch.

A rainy LA afternoon brought me here, and I leave with a happy belly. I had the pesto chicken sando and man was it delicious Boy, am I glad to have skipped McDonalds and try this place instead. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Even when I pretty much squatted here, they treated me with delish cs. I look forward to trying their other dishes next time. Definitely would recommend

Tasty BUT laden with mushrooms despite not being listed in the ingredients and with rice because they were out of quinoa.

The lemon leaf bowl IS pretty tasty... but the service was painfully slow (I was the only in there) and inattentive (ordered to dine in but was made to go; confirmed I wanted dressing on it and was still out on the side). They were out of quinoa so accepted rice instead but was so heavy on mushrooms despite them not being listed in the ingredients. ‍

And I had to ask "What is a Jamaican Style Meat Patty"? and they told me it's like an empanada! But WOAH. It's much bigger than any empanada I've ever seen! The staff was super nice on the phone to me when they explained what it was and that we were able to turn the meat patty into a vegetarian friendly version - nice! They also had a vegetarian one! So we grabbed 2 and got 2 free then decided to also order their vegetarian curry because we thought the meat patties wouldn't be enough. But omg. It was more than enough! The meat patties were huge and thick! And so so so FLAVORFUL! When you come to their shop inside the food hall the shop looks unassuming, it's cluttered and doesn't really give me the excitement of wanting to order here but wow wow wow. Once we ate it we were like "we shouldn't have judged!" Once we dived into the curry we were just waaaay to full but the vegetarian curry was so good. Not as flavorful as the meat patty (should've had the curry first so our tastebuds wern't overwhelmed!" but still tasty nonetheless! It had so much chickpeas and the rice was pretty good! The Jerk chicken was cooked perfectly, though the spice level was mild, even after a warning. The oxtail was tender and good, but not the best I've had. While the rice and beans were a bit too wet, the plantains and cabbage were great. I would have preferred some hot sauce and fluffier rice, but overall it was a solid meal. A text notification system for when orders are ready would be a helpful addition, especially for those seated away from the counter. The staff member gave an estimated time, and my food was actually ready sooner, which I wasn't aware of. While not a major issue, this is an area that could be improved. The service was friendly and helpful, and I would definitely return to try more of their dishes. While the food overall was good, a few things fell short, like the rice. Overall, it's a tough call because the food deserves more than 4 stars. Caribbean Gourmet is easily the best Caribbean spot in the SGV and my second favorite in LA County. The prices are very fair for the portion sizes, and I must highlight how affordable they are, especially these days. Kudos to Caribbean Gourmet for keeping prices affordable while serving delicious food!

I ordered the La Bamba Special, which features slow-roasted, shredded pork seasoned with a Caribbean-style marinade and is usually served with rice and beans. I was looking forward to a flavorful Cuban-style dish, but the meal turned out to be quite unexpected. Instead, the plate included chunks of pork topped with raw red onions, accompanied by Mexican rice and refried beans, which didn't align with my expectations. Overall, the dish was disappointing and unappealing, both in flavor and in the combination of sides. I ended up eating only a quarter of it. The refried beans had no flavor, and I chose not to eat the rice because I prefer different styles. One of my friends ordered fried yuca and fried plantains. While I appreciate the effort to include these items, the yuca was quite dry and could benefit from more seasoning. The plantains, which resembled regular bananas, seemed to have too much oil. As someone who enjoys Caribbean cuisine, I believe the restaurant would benefit from focusing more on traditional flavor combinations. Mixing elements of Mexican and Caribbean cuisine can be a challenge, especially for those familiar with both; there's great potential for improvement by keeping these cuisines distinctly represented. I recommend assessing your kitchen staff; they may need training. I wanted to share some positive recommendations with family and friends about visiting this restaurant, but I recommend exploring other options for now. I hope that constructive feedback will help enhance the dining experience. Thank you!

The sweet potato pie wasn't sweet enough and had an overpowering nutmeg flavor. The cobbler was undercooked, the crust was raw and inedible, and the peaches tasted like they came straight from a can.
