Finally I don't have to go into LA to get a decent patty. I tried this place after eating at their mobile location in downtown LA a little while ago. The inside is nice for a quick bite and has nice design touches. Parking outside is great. I got the beef patty and the jerk chicken. They were both delicious even though I came at the end of the day. The jerk chicken is probably spicy to the average eater but it was perfect for me. I even added some of their hot sauce which is delicious. I also got plantains and mac and cheese. Both were delicious and felt fresh and were super hot. Both the sorrel and ginger lemonade were bomb. I'll be back to try the seafood patty and the curry chicken. The customer service was also great. The lady was super nice and helpful. read more

It's a dream come true to have a place like this in Burbank!! It's been so hard to come by (GOOD) Jamaican food in the valley. To have a place specializing in patties--my favorite part--felt like it was built just for me. Upon walking in, the staff were incredibly warm and attentive which confirmed I was in for something special. I ordered the jerk chicken, curry chicken, and veggie patty to get a lay of the land. I was given a hot sauce and a creamy aioli on the side and both were delicious additions. The patties were flaky, flavorful, and amazing, especially the curry chicken which was filled to perfection. I'm excited to try some sides and stuffed NY style patties next time. I've longed for the New York appreciation of the patty to make its way to LA, and I'm so happy The Patty Stop has landed here in Burbank. Let me start by saying I'm Jamaican, raised in NY, and come from a long line of bakers. Since moving to California, I've pretty much resorted to making my own (and please... they are not empanadas). I came across The Patty Shop on IG and was excited to try it, especially after learning they're originally from NY. The space itself is nicely decorated, and I appreciated the touch of a domino table, it gave a bit of that familiar island vibe. I ordered two patties (veggie and spinach) along with coco bread, and the total came out to nearly $20. One thing that stood out right away was the wait time; it felt more like I was waiting on a cooked food order rather than a quick grab-and-go item, which is how patties are typically served in Jamaica and NY. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet expectations. The patties did not taste fresh, (they were not naked that morning and I was in at 12noon) and the coco bread was close to stale and had been reheated, which really shouldn't be necessary. At this price point, I expected much better quality and freshness. They do offer a selection of D&G sodas in a cooler, which was nice to see, and I noticed other menu items like mac and cheese being prepared. There is also a parking lot out front, which is convenient. Will I be back? Probably not. I'll stick to making my own patties and coco bread. read more

My Yelp partner in Thyme mentioned 'the party wagon' and I was so confused, while traveling through Burbank looking for burgers, I stumbled upon the Patty stop, the storefront for the Patty wagon-- the service was cool, I guess it was the owner who helped us. It wasn't any one in there this particular Friday night and I was happy with that. I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich but he was so unenthused to make it, his look encouraged me to change my order. So I went with the jerk chicken stuffed patty, and he responded "I'm sure you'll like it better than the pesto". And he ain't lie. Updated review: This place has gone way down since the last time I went a couple of years ago. No one greeted us when we came in. We weren't asked to wait while the cashier/cook helped another customer either. We ordered the grilled cheese that was on the menu but was told that they did not have pepper Jack cheese but could substitute with mozzarella cheese. The sandwiches were supposed to be made with ciabatta bread but when we got them, they were just on regular slices of wheat bread. The bread was extremely dry and tasted like cardboard. Had we known they wouldn't be made on ciabatta, we might have ordered something else. So essentially, we paid $10 each for a tasteless grilled Cheese we could've made better at home. The dining area seemed run down. Bottom line, over priced, from The $5 can of juice to the $10 cheese sandwich. Not recommended. read more

Let me start by saying I was very skeptical about this place. I love beef patties. I'm from New York. I grew up eating beef patties with cheese and CoCo bread and getting them on Jamaica Avenue in Queens. I know a good beef patty when I taste one. My husband kept passing this place when we moved to Burbank and suggested we pull up. When we got there. I saw the exterior and honestly it reminded me of a food truck. When we got inside I was like oh we need more decor; we need more of a look. We need more of a vibe. My expectations were getting lower, but I decided to give it a try. I ordered a bunch of patties and two different kinds of stuffed patties. I believe I had the Philly cheesesteak stuffed patty and the chopped cheese patty. Maybe it was like the New Yorker or something; anyway, it took a while for the food to come out. I'm talking maybe 30 minutes. But whatever things happen. It didn't look like they had a lot of business that afternoon. I got the food and I was like please make it work. Let me tell y'all these patties were delicious. They got the meat right in the beef patty. It was nicely ground and soft and warm and spicy just delicious. I also love the chopped cheese stuffed patty. I've never really had anything like that, but I tried it and it was just delightful. I love the lettuce and tomatoes in there and how it all came together like a little cute Panini. I wasn't a big fan of the Philly cheesesteak stuffed patty however, I could see how some people might like it. I don't think I'll be getting that again. I will definitely be returning to this establishment. It seems like a cool place to get like 12 patties for a birthday party or something like that. The only reason it's getting four stars from me would be the decor. We came at 12pm on a Saturday, and they were completely closed! There was no mention of it being closed when I searched up the business online. We could've planned something else and driven elsewhere, but we had to stay put because we were on a tight schedule since we had massage appointments upstairs. Got him a salad and got myself a protein bowl, but also some fries. Went to pick it up, business was in a complex. Parking was easy as it wasn't super busy. I was excited to try this new place after seeing it on social media. This replaced a cafe so some of the older reviews still show the old cafe. I ordered jerk chicken, beef, and curry patties. I liked the flavor (especially curry), and it was nice to try. I just wish there was more filling in the patties because they were a bit flatter than I had hoped. Maybe the meat was mashed into the filling, but I was expecting to taste more meat. I saw that other people in the reviews got sauce on the side, but I wasn't given any. Ordered food via too good to go and the driver drove around in circles. When I finally flagged them down and showed them my order, they told me that it was for their website, which made no sense and said to meet by the Popeyes. I walk up to the Popeyes and they drive off again to do another loop... then they come back around and when I try to flag them down, this time they drive completely away from the area. If this is how you treat your customers, I'll never eat your food. Also decided to cancel my too good to go account because of this experience because they can't even get back to me same day to assist with the issue. Both of your companies have garbage customer service skills clearly. And don't bother responding. I'm not going to read it at all and waste any more than the 40+ minutes it took for me to walk to where your food truck was and be thoroughly disappointed. EDIT... Responding to the comment left: I am nowhere near your restaurant. Your customer ordered food that they didn't get. Your driver drove around frantically instead of stopping somewhere when they easily could have and somewhat did too at one point to at least make my meal that the app allowed me to order. Overall, these 3rd party apps aren't to blame for your drivers inability to do their job. They literally drove off after I paid for an order and wasted my time. Think about this... Would you even go back to a restaurant that did this to you? The answer is no. It's disrespectful and it's not worth it in a world with a million other ways to spend my hard earned money and more importantly, my time. The fact you didn't even offer to make anything right says so much to me about how much you have to learn about running a business. When I came in for pickup the owner Jason profusely apologized because it wasn't ready. He was only the one manning the restaurant, both making and taking orders. Overall the salads are decent but at our visit we had encountered shortages of ingredients in our choices: no black beans for the Taco salad and no options for substitutes. No Kale in the Kale salad. Also the fountain machine was out of gas, but they did offer canned drinks from the fridge.
