Back for lunch at 1130 7/17/2026 2 adults 2 boys ages 5 and 9. The boys ate off the kids menu. Oldest lives salmon so we upgraded him with salmon and the side Mac n cheese shells. The younger child had the kids slider and a side of strawberries. He prefers fruit to fries or other sides. He ate everything. All of it was perfect. Amber and I split a lunch order of tacos. One shrimp and one salmon. The shrimp was fine but not enough Cole slaw in it. We each had a cup of New England chowder perfection!!!! Amazing experience here on the 4th of July. We lucked out with awesome service by Ellejae. She gave insightful answers to our menu questions, and shared honest thoughts. Not always the case at restaurants.... Warm, chewy house made bread and butter. The strawberry salad was fantastic, with unexpected hints of mint. The clam chowder was creamy and full of claws. Kids enjoyed their salmon and sliders off the children's menu. I had the sand dabs, which were drizzled with a nice lemon caper sauce. I don't encounter sand dabs on a menu often,so that was a treat. I was in the area and was craving for oysters. Found this place on Yelp. I called first to see if I needed to reserve. Since I was coming for lunch, the host said to just come on in. The restaurant is right on the corner with a parking lot at the side of the building. The lot is small, so if it's a busy time of day, expect to park on the street. It happened to be happy hour when I got there, which was cool. Oysters were 3 for $9, not a huge deal. I think it was a 50¢ discount per oyster. They had 3 varieties to choose from. I picked 2, which were the least briney ones. Oysters were very fresh! I sat at the bar, so I was watching them shuck. They also have a raw selection. Albacore was on that menu, so I ordered the poke bowl with albacore (not on the HH menu). That was so good! Albacore was also very fresh. Lastly, I had to try their clam chowder because I love clam chowder. Theirs is so delicious!!! It's so creamy and the bacon flavor really stands out. It has a decent amount of clams. Wish there was more though. I had a great time here. The server was really friendly and helpful with their menu by describing the size and flavor of the oyster varieties and preparation options for the raw menu items. Great ambiance and attentive staff! Made dinner reservations on a Sunday for a birthday. Highly recommend reserving a table as it was busy. The seafood was cooked very well and the portions were great! We plan to come back next time we're in town. Came here on a Friday for lunch during Memorial Day weekend. Parking lot wasn't full so got a spot for Lure patrons. We got seated pretty quickly since they weren't busy at 2 pm. First time here after a 3.5 hr drive to SLO. Service - 3.5 stars. So I gave this mainly because my wife (not me) seemed to not vibe with our waitress. In fact, I can tell my wife felt our waitress was being rude when she was asking questions about the menu. There was definitely tension with my wife in that she had to talk about the rudeness of our waitress. As for myself, I didn't take the waitress nodding to my wife's question as being rude but whatever. Thing my wife did notice after we gave our order was that our waitress didn't bring the complimentary bread and butter and we had clearly seen two tables in front of us get that. In fact, my wife had to go to the front desk to ask if free bread was given. For that, 3.5 stars So I had the lunch special - Wild Pacific rockfish with cilantro lime rice and pineapple cole saw. The rice- 3 stars. Nothing special , hard to differentiate it with regular rice since flavor was subtle and I couldn't taste any lime to it. Pineapple Cole slaw side- 5 stars. Very light and refreshing . Had a bit of Dijon taste to it with small pineapple pieces. Both me and my wife enjoyed it (when I had her try it) The rockfish -3 stars felt like it was a bit dry. Had to ask for tartar sauce just to give some zing as well as salt and pepper My wife had the salmon, side of clam chowder and cilantro rice. There were some nice moments of our visit, but overall it was average. Make a reservation as they are quite busy. We brought an older bottle of wine that required the tong type opener so the cork wouldn't break apart. Being the quality of the restaurant I was surprised that they didn't have which resulted in the breakage of the cork even with the most qualified employee. They brought the wine in the decanter which worked out. The young man we hi was our server was very pleasant, but I believe he still has some work towards balancing table needs. We had to ask a few times for utensils and our oysters. It wasn't his fault that they were lacking in the bar, but after we didn't receive them at the end of dinner we cancelled. He brought them out on the house. There were only 6 of them and they were so small. The halibut entrees were just ok. One plate was mentioned it was on the dry side. The calamari and clam chowder were excellent. The overall ambience was nice, but the noise level took away from it. We came here for dinner during our mini weekend getaway. We did put in a reservation for 6pm and promptly got at 6pm. Although the dining area is not overly busy, the hosted asked if we want outdoor or indoor, we picked indoor and she said, it's going to be a 1/2 hour wait. That didn't sit well we us and defeat the purpose of RSVP. There were plenty of tables inside and not sure what the issue was. We reiterated that we have a reservation and another hosted seated us in less than 5 min. To the food, they have great oysters bar and good selection of seafood and fresh catch of the day. This place has an amazing menu, a great happy hour, really good quality seafood. I love their clam chowder-It's really thick and creamy. Ask for their fresh bread, it's amazing. This is my second time here and they have really good waitresses. They are attentive, they smile a lot, great at customer service, personable, and great at their jobs. Great service and great food is what always keeps me coming back. I look forward to trying more items and ordering more things off their menu. My only suggestion: is to make the skewers half the sweetness. They are delicious but a little too sweet maybe add some lemon slices or squeeze lemon juice on top before seeing or add cherry tomatoes or something. The arugula is perfect however! We were lured in here by the restaurant month menu which looked very lavish and turned out to exceed our expectations!! It started by getting there early to get a good parking space in their dedicated parking area. We were warmly welcomed because we had made a reservation We chose a nice large booth by the window with a view through the fish balls out to the street. Our waiter. Major, immediately showed up and he was very cordial and welcoming. We had a few questions which he answered in detail. I got a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. They have several varieties, so it was fun to choose one. We looked over the restaurant month menu which is a three course meal for $45! Quite a bargain these days! We both chose the clam chowder to start with. I chose from the seafood specials of the day and there were several to choose from. I chose the prawn special which came with two sides. I got corn relish, and the sweet potato fries. My friend got the chimichurri steak with coleslaw and brussels sprouts we even ordered our dessert ahead because he wanted the Key lime pie and I favored the flourless chocolate cake. We sat and chatted for just a few minutes before our clam chowder came out. It was rich and delicious. Just the right amount of liquid for a soup and just the right amount of clams in the soup so that the flavor was an unctuous seafood broth. The next items to arrive were the entrées. My prawns, or should I say prawn, because it was one large prawn split in half and grilled, had a beautiful presentation with fries and sauces and little side dishes. My friends chimichurri steak was nice and tender, neither too rare nor too well done. His brussels sprouts added a piquant note to the meal. We really enjoyed catching up because we hadn't seen each other in almost 2 months over the holiday season. This threse course feast was a chance to unwind and talk about all the events in our lives. Our last course was the desserts. The Keylime pie made a quick appearance! The flourless chocolate cake swam in caramel sauce with ice cream on the side! This really was a feast for the ages! Clam chowder was on point - great flavor and consistency. The fish' okay so I got the halibut and it was pacific caught and perfectly cooked with just the right amount of flavor. The dill tartar sauce I thought was odd and then I tasted it and really just well done chef! Bravo! With the fish there were two sides and the chowder was one and for the other I selected the sautéed spinach and it was perfect! All of the flavors were spot on and I couldn't have been happier! I asked for extra bread because my friend was sick in the car and they were so sweet and didn't hesitate! I had also ordered the tuna ceviche to go and wow that was my dinner after a long drive up the coast. Tuna ceviche was perfect and on point loved the homemade toasters wow! This place holds a very special place in my heart! I took my dad to San Luis Obispo on our first flight (hehe I'm a pilot) and we chose this place for a late lunch/early dinner. This restaurant is extremely modern, and very delicious! I highly recommend coming here and trying anything off their menu! We ordered oysters and I ordered a glazed salmon bowl. IT WAS DELICIOUS! Their drinks look amazing also but can't drink since I had to fly us back. I will always remember this place since it was the first restaurant I was able to FLY my dad to and we had such a great time. We had the absolute best time at Lure Fish House during our recent visit to SLO. It was a spontaneous dinner outing over Labor Day weekend, and despite the restaurant being packed (understandably so), the staff went out of their way to accommodate us with two bar seats, which we thoroughly enjoyed. From the moment we sat down, we were in excellent hands. Our bartender, Lucas, made us feel completely taken care of. He was not only attentive but incredibly knowledgeable--offering thoughtful recommendations and even fine-tuning our cocktails to match our tastes. That kind of personal touch really stood out. We started with a dozen oysters and couldn't have been happier. Each one was incredibly fresh and flavorful, but the Love Shucks from Maine were real standouts. We followed that with the miso-glazed sea bass skewers, which were perfectly cooked and beautifully plated. There was a minor hiccup with the kitchen running out of one of the entrees, but the way the staff handled it was so gracious and kind--it honestly wasn't even an issue. They were incredibly apologetic, even though we were enjoying ourselves so much we hadn't even noticed the delay. I had the sesame-seared ahi tuna, which was beautifully done, and my husband had the sand dabs--both dishes were delicious from the first bite to the last. We finished the night with a slice of key lime pie that I'm still thinking about--it might be the best I've ever had. Beyond the food and drinks, which were phenomenal, what really left an impression was the atmosphere and hospitality. The space is lively but welcoming, perfect for a relaxed night out or a special date night. We ordered an appetizer of crab cakes, which both hubs and daughter loved. Rave reviews for that! Then, we ordered mains. Salmon for daughter, which she adored. Well prepared and tasty. Trout, which hubs said he wanted because it's not usually on the menu. He thought it was nice and a good flavor. I ordered a salad with chicken since I don't eat seafood. It was good, although a little bland for me. I expected more dressing or maybe just more flavor. The service was good, the food arrived quickly, and we were completed in less than one hour. Good/bad depending on how you want to spend your evening. The corkage was amazingly reasonable so we took advantage of that and brought our own wine. Thanks, Lure! There were some great dishes and some average ones, but nothing bad. We really liked the following: Charbroiled oysters Pacific white sea bass (wifey liked it a lot. I thought it was okay, but I liked the sides better) Cioppino Average dishes: Crab cakes Crispy calamari Room for improvement: The spicy seafood ceviche was not very spicy and I thought something was lacking. The linguine with clams lacked flavor and seasoning. I was very tempted to just dump the linguine in the Cioppino sauce. We finished every dish and looked at the dessert menu for a bit before deciding not to have any. Brother-in-law had a watermelon mojito that he enjoyed. I got a draft IPA and I was satisfied too. I was recently treated to dinner here for my birthday. Staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was festive, with many staff in costume since it was Halloween. We started with some drinks, with my friend having a mocktail which was quite beautiful in the glass (and she says it tasted very good). I loved the refreshing citrusy notes in the signature Lure martini, which is kind of like a lemon drop. I had the tequila lime shrimp pasta which was seasoned nicely and was a good sized portion. I really enjoyed it and would order it again. My friend's salad Louie was also nicely portioned, visually appealing and (per my friend) quite tasty.
