Clam chowder with piece of house bread
Megan S.

Amazing experience here on the 4th of July. We lucked out with awesome service by Ellejae. She gave insightful answers to our menu questions, and shared honest thoughts. Not always the case at restaurants.... Warm, chewy house made bread and butter. The strawberry salad was fantastic, with unexpected hints of mint. The clam chowder was creamy and full of claws. Kids enjoyed their salmon and sliders off the children's menu. I had the sand dabs, which were drizzled with a nice lemon caper sauce. I don't encounter sand dabs on a menu often,so that was a treat. A generous portion, too, at around 8 Oz. The ambiance was fun, with music playing inside and outside. Great dimmer hope do dine at Lure again next time I'm in SLO.

Oysters: 4/5. On the briny side than I prefer, but so fresh!

I was in the area and was craving for oysters. Found this place on Yelp. I called first to see if I needed to reserve. Since I was coming for lunch, the host said to just come on in. The restaurant is right on the corner with a parking lot at the side of the building. The lot is small, so if it's a busy time of day, expect to park on the street. It happened to be happy hour when I got there, which was cool. Oysters were 3 for $9, not a huge deal. I think it was a 50¢ discount per oyster. They had 3 varieties to choose from. I picked 2, which were the least briney ones. Oysters were very fresh! I sat at the bar, so I was watching them shuck. They also have a raw selection. Albacore was on that menu, so I ordered the poke bowl with albacore (not on the HH menu). That was so good! Albacore was also very fresh. Lastly, I had to try their clam chowder because I love clam chowder. Theirs is so delicious!!! It's so creamy and the bacon flavor really stands out. It has a decent amount of clams. Wish there was more though. I had a great time here. The server was really friendly and helpful with their menu by describing the size and flavor of the oyster varieties and preparation options for the raw menu items. I've bookmarked them so I can remember to visit them next time.

Great ambiance and attentive staff! Made dinner reservations on a Sunday for a birthday. Highly recommend reserving a table as it was busy. The seafood was cooked very well and the portions were great! We plan to come back next time we're in town. The waiter brought out a vanilla ice cream with fudge and a candle for the birthday girl which was sweet. Our favorite and most unique dish was the tequila shrimp pasta. We felt the salad was overdressed/slightly soggy & the chowder wasnt the most creamy but everything else was amazing!

Came here on a Friday for lunch during Memorial Day weekend. Parking lot wasn't full so got a spot for Lure patrons. We got seated pretty quickly since they weren't busy at 2 pm. First time here after a 3.5 hr drive to SLO. Service - 3.5 stars. So I gave this mainly because my wife (not me) seemed to not vibe with our waitress. In fact, I can tell my wife felt our waitress was being rude when she was asking questions about the menu. There was definitely tension with my wife in that she had to talk about the rudeness of our waitress. As for myself, I didn't take the waitress nodding to my wife's question as being rude but whatever. Thing my wife did notice after we gave our order was that our waitress didn't bring the complimentary bread and butter and we had clearly seen two tables in front of us get that. In fact, my wife had to go to the front desk to ask if free bread was given. For that, 3.5 stars So I had the lunch special - Wild Pacific rockfish with cilantro lime rice and pineapple cole saw. The rice- 3 stars. Nothing special , hard to differentiate it with regular rice since flavor was subtle and I couldn't taste any lime to it. Pineapple Cole slaw side- 5 stars. Very light and refreshing . Had a bit of Dijon taste to it with small pineapple pieces. Both me and my wife enjoyed it (when I had her try it) The rockfish -3 stars felt like it was a bit dry. Had to ask for tartar sauce just to give some zing as well as salt and pepper My wife had the salmon, side of clam chowder and cilantro rice. I tried the salmon and was pretty good taste and seemed more fresh than store bought. Overall, it was a decent experience for a seafood place but not a wow factor. Would I come back again? I think it was good to try it out but there are too many other seafood places to try in the SLO/ Pismo beach area

Started off a bit rocky. Sold on happy hour (you should too!) 3-6pm M-F. Only available table an unclean 4 top. Low on buss staff. So asked and manager stepped in to clean and took order. I'm came solo. No problem with the 4 top. Free bread. Hot and delicious. The food was scrumptious. My favorite was the oysters. Ordered them twice. Cab was from Napa. Delish. Gorgeous setting. Highly recommended!!!

We came here for dinner during our mini weekend getaway. We did put in a reservation for 6pm and promptly got at 6pm. Although the dining area is not overly busy, the hosted asked if we want outdoor or indoor, we picked indoor and she said, it's going to be a 1/2 hour wait. That didn't sit well we us and defeat the purpose of RSVP. There were plenty of tables inside and not sure what the issue was. We reiterated that we have a reservation and another hosted seated us in less than 5 min. To the food, they have great oysters bar and good selection of seafood and fresh catch of the day. We opted for the seafood cioppino and grilled rock fish with 2 sides. The cioppino is pretty bland. The tomatoes base sauce is not robust enough. It was served with a slightly burned toast. The grilled rock fish was good. Enough flavors and fresh. Okay to try it once.

This place has an amazing menu, a great happy hour, really good quality seafood. I love their clam chowder-It's really thick and creamy. Ask for their fresh bread, it's amazing. This is my second time here and they have really good waitresses. They are attentive, they smile a lot, great at customer service, personable, and great at their jobs. Great service and great food is what always keeps me coming back. I look forward to trying more items and ordering more things off their menu. My only suggestion: is to make the skewers half the sweetness. They are delicious but a little too sweet maybe add some lemon slices or squeeze lemon juice on top before seeing or add cherry tomatoes or something. The arugula is perfect however! And I enjoyed the orange and grapefruit slices. Lastly, the happy hour tacos are great and so filling! You can taste the freshness of each item here.

The restaurant was really clean and nicely decorated. The staff was really friendly and accommodating. My order: Happy hour cocktails, 3 for $9 oysters, calamari. Hanger steak with Lure fries and Brussels sprouts. Lobster tail with potato cake, side of clam chowder. All of the food was delicious and fresh. My steak was cooked perfectly and I loved that they use the local sourced Harris Ranch beef. The lobster tail was flavorful and cooked. I will definitely be back.

We were lured in here by the restaurant month menu which looked very lavish and turned out to exceed our expectations!! It started by getting there early to get a good parking space in their dedicated parking area. We were warmly welcomed because we had made a reservation We chose a nice large booth by the window with a view through the fish balls out to the street. Our waiter. Major, immediately showed up and he was very cordial and welcoming. We had a few questions which he answered in detail. I got a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. They have several varieties, so it was fun to choose one. We looked over the restaurant month menu which is a three course meal for $45! Quite a bargain these days! We both chose the clam chowder to start with. I chose from the seafood specials of the day and there were several to choose from. I chose the prawn special which came with two sides. I got corn relish, and the sweet potato fries. My friend got the chimichurri steak with coleslaw and brussels sprouts we even ordered our dessert ahead because he wanted the Key lime pie and I favored the flourless chocolate cake. We sat and chatted for just a few minutes before our clam chowder came out. It was rich and delicious. Just the right amount of liquid for a soup and just the right amount of clams in the soup so that the flavor was an unctuous seafood broth. The next items to arrive were the entrées. My prawns, or should I say prawn, because it was one large prawn split in half and grilled, had a beautiful presentation with fries and sauces and little side dishes. My friends chimichurri steak was nice and tender, neither too rare nor too well done. His brussels sprouts added a piquant note to the meal. We really enjoyed catching up because we hadn't seen each other in almost 2 months over the holiday season. This threse course feast was a chance to unwind and talk about all the events in our lives. Our last course was the desserts. The Keylime pie made a quick appearance! The flourless chocolate cake swam in caramel sauce with ice cream on the side! This really was a feast for the ages! Restaurant Month is only the month of January, so I encourage everyone to get out there and try Lure.

The service was excellent. Ambiance was classy and relaxing. We ordered a mix of food and everything was outstanding. Had the mix grill, sand dabs, and fish and chips. Wine selection was excellent. The locally produced Albariño we had paired well with our meal. 10/10. We will return next time we are in town.

Private parking available, wonderful staff, clean and shipshape decor, and delicious food. Our party, 6 adults and 2 children, dined outdoors on the patio. I had the amazing Ahi Poke Bowl. Hoping to revisit again when nearby.

Great happy hour menu. Went over for some local oysters and appetizers before walking the street market around the corner. The waitress went above to help us celebrate a birthday. Loved the outdoor seating area.

We were walk in, the hostess offered us seating in two bar areas and also made room in the front room for us. We sat at a table in the front room. Wish we tried one but next time! The service was so fast. When we got our cocktail the food arrived! We ordered the señor lomo which was their lomo saltado. It was sooo good. The sauce was so flavorful and the filet mignon was very tender. It came with a lot of veggies, fries and rice too. Also ordered the escabeche which was a sea bass with similar delicious sauce and veggies. It had mixed colored roasted potato's underneath. Fish and the dish was soft and equally flavorful and delicious. I would say the sauce was slightly lighter than señor lomo. They had a platter of desserts on display. Wish we could have all of them. They all looked pretty and delicious. We tried the papaya creme brûlée. Thought it mostly tasted just like creme brûlée. Highly recommend. It is one of the best Peruvian places I've been. In the past I've tried the afrodisíaco dish and was blown away but I wanted to excite myself with a different dish so I chose the Mixto dish and wow! The flavors just burst in your mouth with how bright they are, the dish is set under Ceviche but this is so much more elevated than your typical view of ceviche dishes! My boyfriend ordered the Dragon Lake cocktail and absolutely loved it! The ingredients are so well incorporated you don't find yourself tasting a drink with overpowered liquor that drowns out the other ingredients! He's a bartender so he appreciates a well made drink! On his end he loved his plate although I didn't catch the name of it, it was beautifully plated and it showed through with the taste of each bite as well! This is a MUST visit if you're ever back in the SLO area.

I opted to do a trio with the bahn mi, tip o' Argentina, and the garlic fries. The food was good I forgot to take a picture! The tip o' Argentina was solid with the garlic aioli and the chimmichurri perfectly complimenting the steak and the lettuce and tomato adding a little bit of freshness. The buns they use for all of their sliders are soft, slightly sweet, and don't fall apart while you're eating. The Bahn Mi was even better. I love pork but was a little skeptical about pulled pork on a slider riffing on the flavors of a bahn mi. To my surprise and delight, it tasted just like grilled Vietnamese pork, which was perfectly complimented by the fresh and pickled veggies and surprisingly hot jalapeño. Finally, I got the garlic fries which were a massive portion, crisp, and very garlicky. Everything was good and with such a large and customizable menu, I'd definitely return if I was in the area again. I also want to give a shout out to the bartender, Kelsey. I sat at the bar and her service was attentive and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. They also gave us complementary bread before we received our meal, and a lot of the dishes were unique and plated well. I would come back if I'm ever in the area and would recommend this place to all my friends! All ratings below are averaged (from me and my bf): salmon bisque // 9.25 // very yummy and unique. my bf didn't think he'd like it -- he usually dislikes seafood -- but it was great!! creamy, clear salmon taste but no unpleasant fishy/ocean taste that a lot of seafood has. i've never had this anywhere else, props to the chef! thai green curry // 8.5 // my bf says it's a 9. it's good but i feel like it was not my fave, it's lowkey your good, standard green curry that you can get at any thai place duck breast (curry) // 8.75 // very delicious and unique, i'd rate the curry, rice, and duck breast as 9/10, the duck breast itself was a 10/10. the curry was creamy, and they were all delicious and fragrant, pairing well together. however, the mushrooms, carrots, and other veggies it came with are too sweet. they seem like they're glazed with a sauce that has too much sugar. the black rice was surprisingly very filling strawberry matcha trifle // 8 // yummy, nothing majorly wrong with it. reminds me of a strawberry matcha latte. matcha whipped cream was a nice, unique touch i haven't really seen elsewhere despite it not sounding difficult to make. i'd order it again but i feel like it's on the sweeter side, so you can't eat too much of it.

Perfect weather for wearing a light sweater, enjoying a glass of wine, and having a nice evening with your people. The staff is very attentive and on top of making sure you have what you need. Food: started off with the brussel sprouts and man, those were so so good. Brussel sprouts, goat cheese, pancetta, etc. you get what I'm saying. Flash fried perfectly. We had the salmon bisque and Soup De Novo, which was a vegetable curry soup. These both could have essentially been meals. The salmon bisque was absolutely loaded with salmon. From what I heard about it, it tasted amazing. (I don't eat salmon). The vegetable curry soup was very flavorful and blended smoothly. If you ordered rice on the side, it would have been just like an entire meal. Tikki Masala Chicken - man, that airline chicken was cooked perfectly. Juicy and tender, great flavor, no a single thing wrong with it. The rice and vegetables were fantastic, especially the carrots. I don't know why they seemed extra good, but they were. 2 orders of the Ribeye. Once cooked medium and mine, cooked medium rare. Unfortunately, when mine came out, I immediately could tell that it was nowhere near cooked right. It was actually well done. When the waiter came back, I said "I'm sorry to have to do this..." and before I could finish he said "oh yea, that's definitely not medium rare, let me have the kitchen refire that for you". I dislike sending food back, but when you're spending $58 on a ribeye dinner, it HAS to be correct. (Note- the manager remedied the issue quick..came to the table, offered soup, bread, etc, which I had already eaten soup, so he comped 50% off the steak. Nice gesture!) The rest of the vegetables paired with the ribeye were very good. If someone told you the white bean puree was mashed potatoes, most people would believe it. Very creamy and delicious. The Italian salsa verde on top was also very fulfilling. Overall the dinner was very good.

Both breads did come out a bit cold though and I wish the sourdough was crispier. - Beet and endive salad (4/5): one of the best beet salads we've had. The sauce really brings the dish together with the herbed goat cheese flavor shining subtley through. - Bone marrow tots (4/5): this was the reason we wanted to try come ox + anchor and it did not disappoint. We couldn't really taste the bone marrow, which we had expected to shine, but the tots themselves were perfectly crispy and flavored. We both also loved the horseradish creme fraiche that helped cut through some of the heaviness of this dish. Note though that there is an odd amount of tots per dish so my gf and I had to fight over the last one. - 10oz american wagyu flat iron (5/5): we ordered this medium rare and it was perfectly cooked. The steak was juicy but not overly fatty since it was consistently marbled. It was seasoned well but we loved trying all the different complimentary sauces with it - especially the red wine bordelaise sauce.
