Jack'd Burger, Tater Tots
Winnie K.

Humble Potato has a wide menu from rice plate, burgers, sandwiches and sides. The Japanese/Hawaiian inspired menu has something for everyone. The parking is street parking or meters along Washington. For the food: The Jack'd burger was recommended and it was indeed tasty. Next time I'd opt for one of their unique sandwiches. Love that they have tater tots - my favorite kind of potato.

Can't believe this place thought it's OK to deliver a plate like picture 1. The actual food looks nothing like advertised on doordash. Would never order again.

Flavor bomb. Soooo good! I really enjoyed the crispy fries, the savory curry, and the juicy meat. We had a nice time sitting inside, watching passersby on Washington and interacting with the nice staff. Definitely worth returning

Hambaga Burger

Got takeout from here. Quick and easy pickup. Got the hambaga and fries. The burger was just okay. It wasn't juicy as they say and other reviewers. Patty was actually kind of dry and didn't have much flavor to it. Not sure where the Japanese flavors and whatnot were. The fries were underwhelming as well. Tasted like frozen fries from the grocery store. For the price point it wasn't quite worth it. In-n-Out would have been more satisfying for a quick bite to eat. Glad I tried it but don't think I would go back.

Banh Mi Sandwich

If you're looking for good Asian food with a twist, Humble Potato is the place to go. Second time here (different location) and it still hit the spot. I came here for their burgers since it was delicious the first time, but got intrigued by their Banh Mi and decided to give it a try. And boy was I glad I did! The sandwich is packed with veggies and it's very refreshing. They also have beer which is always a plus. The new location looks a bit smaller from the outside but they have a big outdoor area in the back. It's a nice casual lunch or dinner spot! The staff have always been very friendly and it's nice to be greeted each time. Definitely recommend!

Delish! Vibe is super casual, food is simple yet comforting. We came on a late Sunday afternoon, it wasn't that crowded but the service was a bit leisurely. No complaints just an fyi if you're super hungry

Service was outstanding. We sat on the very cute patio in back. Great beer selection and the Burger and fries were outstanding! We ordered loaded fries and then got a second order of just fries. I don't like to fight, but I'm willing to for tasty fries. My friends both ordered the crispy chicken. One got it on a sandwich the other with rice ... both looked delicious. Looking forward to our next visit

Yakiniku Sando Sandwich Hambaga Burger Sweet Potato Fries

Lunch here for the first time; the steak sandwich was moist, flavorful, and something I'll come back for. Tried the steak sandwich and a bite of the burger, was more impressed by the steak sandwich than the burger but both were good. Parking was little limited but still found a spot close enough. Tried the sweet potato fries which were seasoned just right with salt. Inside or outside eating if you decide to dine in. Getting the food after ordering didn't take an absurd amount of time either thankfully

First time visit and first time Yum! Decided to try this place and happened to visit when it was happy hour (5pm-7pm). #winning Had their "Umburger" happy hour combo, (substituted cheddar cheese for pepper jack). Upgraded my fries to garlic fries. Overall both were good. Burger was tasty. Despite being on the small side, it still felt the right bit of filling. I liked the sauce that came with it. It added the punch needed. Fries were perfectly cooked. Great flavor and crunch. Food came out quick but didn't taste rushed. $23 overall.

Humble Potato is always a good bet if you're in the mood for something deliciously unhealthy. I'm a big fan of their Hambaga...it's always perfectly juicy! Their sweet potato fries were perfectly seasoned as always. This was my boyfriend's first time eating here and he ordered the Yakiniku Sando which he really enjoyed. They have both indoor seating or a cute little patio out back whichever you prefer. Street parking isn't terrible. We found a spot less than a block away. Humble Potato is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the Mar Vista area.

GARLIC NOODLE
Nicole M.

First time here, it was found by a friend on Yelp after our original lunch spot was closed. Lucky us! Service was perfect. It was not too busy and food was served quickly. We sat outside in their covered back patio. Everything on the menu looked really good but 3 of us ordered the KATSU KARE SANDO w/ yummy Japanese curry . 100% would recommend. The sandwich was big enough to share with the garlic fries unless you want left overs. The sandwich kept well for the next day. The restaurant is located on a Main Street - free/metered parking available with additional parking near-by for a short walk. Enjoy!

Humble Potato's Hambaga is my favorite burger I've ever had! It's the perfect thickness for a burger and it is juicy but not greasy.

Kaarage + Garlic Parmesan Fries (we split each in put in a bowl to share with our large group)
Shirley W.

I didn't realize this was Japanese fusion until I walked in tbh, but that made their menu items much more interesting! They actually have a variety of items on their menu, going from garlic noodles, loco moco, hamburgers, sandwiches, etc. Very extensive! I brought my group of friends here and they were excited to see since everything looked pretty good! I believe they are more known for their burgers? So I went ahead and got the Jack'd and these garlic parmesan fries to share. For my Jack'd burger, I really liked how the bun was soft and crispy, the meat patty was also very juicy, and it was packed with flavor overall! I normally don't eat bacon, but the bacon on here was a really nice crisp. The overall burger was pretty good, but I wouldn't say it's sooo amazing. The meat quality was pretty standard, but I liked how all the ingredients they used were pretty fresh. The garlic parmesan fries were very nice and garlic-y. We all got different items, but it seemed like everyone also liked their dish! My friend next to me got the garlic noodles with katsu, and she said it was really oily and heavy. We also ordered kaarage to shared, but I wish it was more meaty than airy. The mentaiko (?) sauce was pretty nice! Overall, the prices are bit high here for what they serve, but I think that's also LA price lol. It's a great spot for big groups since there is an outdoor patio! It wasn't too busy when we came in for lunch. Parking was pretty easy since there were several free metered spots at the front.

We stopped in on a Sunday around 11:30, no line and very quick service! Finished eating and left around 12:05 so we must've lucked out with no line. We got two double cheese burgers and the loaded fries. The burger had impressively thin patties with a really nice char on the meat skirt, well seasoned, and perfectly crispy. The buns were quite small and a bit smooshed, but they were soft. It came with some fry sauce and pickles as well, overall a good burger. The fries had a good amount of toppings (cheese onions, fry sauce) and were nice and crispy. Kinda wish the onions were slightly more grilled for some extra flavor! Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. Tasty burgers and a must try for sure if your around! Cheers!

Whether you prefer a classic smash burger with the golden brown crispy edges, the "slim thick" for the times you want more beef, or the larger DH burger for a heartier bite, it feels like the menu offers something for everyone. I went on a typical weekday lunch with my friend, who was craving a top tier burger when Amboy was consistently popping up on lists all over online. It highlighted fresh, house made ingrediants down to the actual patty itself. The beef had a rich, juicy taste without being overly greasy, and every topping felt intentional instead of just piled on. The bun held everything together, making it a balanced start to finish product. I ultimately got the slim thick on the classic Amboy burger for roughly $18 which might seem expensive for a burger. However, you can definitely taste the quality. One thing to note is that seating is very limited. If you plan on arriving on a weekend or holiday, expect not having seating available as inside only had a few spots and right outside had just barely more. Thankfully, Amboy is just as good as a takeout option. I ordered my meal to go, and I was pleasantly surprised on how well everything held up on the trip home. The burger stayed together well with the fries still being crispy with a fluffy interior. Amboy delivers exactly what I was looking for in a great burger: high-quality ingredients, thoughtful customization, and consistently delicious food. Irv's originally opened in 1946 as Queen's Burgers, located right on Route 66 on Santa Monica Boulevard in WeHo, and was deeply ingrained in LA's historic car culture. In 1970, Irv Genis bought the stand and renamed it Irv's Burgers, and it quickly became a legendary late-night spot for rock icons like Bob Dylan and Jim Morrison. By 2000, Sonia Hong took over, famously hand-drawing doodles on the paper plates alongside her signature slogan, "Just for you." After closing in 2013 and again in 2018, Lawrence Longo partnered with Sonia in 2021 to bring the brand back to life. They've since expanded quite a bit, even opening locations in Malibu and Las Vegas. On a staff recommendation, I ordered Irv's Original Roadside Burger Double ($11.25). Honestly, it was just okay. While a certain amount of grease and salt is expected with a burger, this one crossed the line into being a bit too salty and oily. On the bright side, the sesame bun was excellent, and I loved that they kept Sonia's legacy alive by printing her classic doodles on the tray placemats. While I'm glad Irv's was saved from history and is expanding, the food itself felt pretty so-so. The outdoor tables were also a bit dirty during my visit. I still love that classic roadside burger stand aesthetic with the outdoor stools, but unfortunately, I won't be in a rush to head back.
