I had a pipe leaking in my finished basement that I didn't realize. When I had gone down to the basement, I saw the soaking wet rug with some mold spots and efflorescence around my furniture and fireplace. I panicked and called the restoration company Paul Davis. He came out the next morning and suggested that I get a plumber as soon as possible. I had called my plumber, but he was booked up and wouldn't be able to come for over a week. Hummingbird Plumbing was recommended so I called right away and spoke with Kevin. He said they were just finishing a job and that he could send someone within two hours. And thankfully, Evan came and repaired the pipe. He took pictures and showed me all the erosion that was at the main water pipes/meter and suggested to get it fixed to avoid any further damage/problems. He was very transparent in explaining his pricing upfront. I agreed to get it fixed. The water had to be shut off, so Evan called the Chelmsford Water Department and scheduled a meeting with them to shut off the water and to bring a new water valve and meter. 5 star service across the board! In less then 15 minutes of submitting an online inquiry, we received a text from the owner, Kevin McPherson. He asked if he could call me within a few minutes and he did. We spoke about replacing our 14 year old hot water tank before we had a problem with it. Kevin happened to be available and came over in less than 90 minutes for a consultation. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, kind and respectful and gave us several options for replacement. We received his quote (including additional options with no pressure attached) within an hour of his visit. We were very impressed with his response time and his availability to answer questions for us. We booked Kevin to replace our water heater and he was able to fit us in within the week. In the past 2 weeks I had to have Hummingbird come out for separate services. First was Evan for my furnace//HVAC, he was professional, polite and respectful of my home, wearing booties when walking around/through the house. He explained what was going on and what needed to be done. Kevin stopped by today on a very last minute notice. I reached out due to hearing rushing water coming from my hot water tank. He let me know he would find a way to squeeze me in and was over to take a look before the end of the day. He was equally professional and polite, wearing booties when he entered my home too. He was able to quickly do the repairs and explained what was going on and what happened. The expansion tank off the hot water heater was old and was beginning to leak and a joint, he did a replacement right then. Sunday afternoon, the water heater quit on us. Looked up plumbers, liked the Hummingbird name. Called and talked to Kevin, no phone tag. He came out the next morning, the 16 year old water heater wasn't worth repairing. We wanted to switch from a tank to on demand, which wasn't a simple swap. Kevin finished the job the same day, everything from pulling the permit to hauling off the old tank, flushing the pipes, and yeah! hot water. Went over in detail what needed to be done, itemized what it would cost, did a great job, cleaned everything up. Also quoting replacing baseboard heating , told me to call him when we were ready.
