Although, the sauces and the hummus were all very salty. The dolmas tastes like they were mayo coated and the grape leaf was tough with the rice. I paid extra for that. I wanted artichokes and they were extra too. The bowl ran me over $16. The only vegetarian option was falafel unless you wanted to pay a up charge again for mushrooms. Pretty pricey. read more

I'm not normally a Mediterranean girl, but Hummus Republic was delicious! It's basically a Mediterranean Chipotle. I went for a lunch date since it's somewhere I wanted to try and I hadn't been there yet. We went around lunch, inside was very clean and the music was amazing! Our server was very patient with me, I ordered the bowl. They walk you through creating your bowl...base, salad, hummus choices, meat, dressing, and toppings. I got the rice base, garden salad, the three most popular hummus choices, chicken, etc. We ordered one of their lemonades and sat outside. Impressions on the bowl - delicious! But there is SO much food in one serving. I am normally a good eater but the serving was humongous! However, all of the flavors were so good together, it was a great bowl overall and I enjoyed it very much. Very delicious! Came to try this spot today as it was recommended by a friend of mine. As I walked in , hot air smacked me in the face. I made a joke with the server , ' aren't you guys hot back there? ' she replied yes it's like we're in a sauna. How bizarre to be aware of a problem & not fix it? During a heat wave and no ac for the customers or workers ??? I don't understand how people are okay with working or eating in those conditions. It was too uncomfortable to eat inside so we took it to go. Wish the environment was more enjoyable. It is one of my favorite restaurants right now and I can't wait to go back to it. My go-to is the bowl with basmati rice as a base, kale, chicken shawarma, feta hummus, olive hummus, traditional hummus, red onion, cucumber, corn, feta cheese, olives, tahini, and tzatziki. Ordered delivery through DoorDash. When ordering I added dolmades to my wrap selection- I thought they would be on the side, but it turned out they add them into the wrap! This was a pleasant surprise as it made the wrap different from anything else I've ever had. Olive hummus was tangy and creamy. Biggest stuffed wrap I've ever had with tons of delicious fillings. We just had a really bad experience here. Unfriendly staff, who honestly seemed just unhappy in their jobs. Perhaps they are being held there against their will. Hummus is a Levantine specialty, invented and perfected by palestinian, Syrian + Lebanese people. It is bastardized here with unusual flavors, offensive texture and off putting taste. I was excited to see the mushroom shawarma option. I opted for the upcharge because I love mushrooms prepared in inventive ways. These were unfortunately served cold, too tough to chew and, again, had an off putting taste. I could only eat a few bites and lost my appetite. Save your money and find an authentic middle eastern restaurant run by warm Levantine people with delicious food! This is not the spot. I hope the staff is soon set free. read more

Waited about 10-15 minutes when I realized patrons were coming out with their food in hand so, I decided to check in on my order. Inside there were a few people placing orders and a few others in line to pay. When I was addressed I asked about my order and at the same time I see an employee pulling a receipt from the wall and starts to work on it-turns out it's my order. When I asked why my order wasn't given a timely attention I was told because I ordered from the monitor. I was told the walk-ins take priority. My question, WHY? Why aren't orders prepared as they come in? This information was emphasized by another male employee that came to explain to me your order will take longer if you order from the monitor. Apparently, they receive the order 5 minutes after it's placed and their instructions are to prepare those orders after all the orders placed inside are taken care of. How does this make any sense? -The receipt was nasty, full of food stains -2 stars because the food does take good and the crispy chicken was hot -larger portions because my bowl had a lot of greens and small toppings on top -the Kalamata olives portion was as big as my sharwana chicken Even if I were from this area I wouldn't be returning. There should be a sign that says to order at the counter if you'd like faster service next to the monitor's sign that say ORDER HERE. This food experience was not worth it! read more

First time here! Was so yummy! Love the varieties of hummus they offer as well as their proteins! I had a bowl with kale and cucumbers and tried their traditional hummus, the eggplant hummus and the feta hummus (which had a light kick) and the chicken (I think it's the kabob not the lemon) it was wonderful! This is hands down my favorite place to get a quick bite to eat. I love all the options for proteins, hummus, toppings and sauces. The staff are nice and generous. The prices are very reasonable. An odd positive, I really like their to go bowls - even when a little liquid accumulates on the bottom from ordering hummus, there's no leakage whatsoever. Everything is simply good quality! My only complaints, I wish there were more in CA so that I could always get the food no matter where I go and I don't like the store sign. I do really love this restaurant it's Mediterranean but chipotle style. Build your own wrap bowl or pita. Service is good. My only complaint would be recently went in 30min before close and the gyro meat was not longer in the skillet and now in a paper bowl. So figure the meat must have just came out. I went at the end of the night so I might try it again earlier in the day as the food was not as fresh- lamb and gyro I ordered was just the last scrapings and the sweet potato fries were cold and chewy ... I do love the concept and the amount of toppings and hummus they give you. Just tried the food here for the first time tonight and I have to say it is absolutely delicious. I got the bowl with couscous, kale, it also comes with two proteins and a whole lot of other toppings. The sauces they use are really good, I had the roasted eggplant hummus and the zesty feta. I did not go in person, I ordered through doordash but I have to say it's one of the best deliveries I've had. It was super fast, everything came just as I had ordered it, and the bag was stapled close which I appreciate. You can see a tremendous amount of love has gone into this place. I am a falafel snob and this is some of the best falafel Ventura County has to offer: moist, complexly flavored, and fresh. I got a bowl with Kale, Farmer's Mix (lettuce), cous cous, topped with zesty feta, harissa hummus, olive hummus, lemon chicken, cucumber, cabbage, tomato, Tatziki and lemon. Tonight I had a bowl with chicken souvlaki. The chicken was good but the couscous was inedible! It was sooo dry, idk if it had maybe been sitting all day or what but I was disappointed.
