Humu Deli & Juice has become a go-to place to grab lunch with sandwiches, wraps, salads, and smoothies. It's located along Richards Street, across from the Post Office, near Happy Mart. Metered parking only. Mainly a takeout place, but there are tables outside to enjoy your food. I've been here quite a number of times, and I've tried all their wraps! I remember my first time I thought the romaine lettuce were chopped too big making it difficult to eat. I guess they can read minds because that was the only time! Each wrap is good and unique in its own way. All the ingredients are fresh and well prepared. Generous and balanced portions, and neatly and beautifully wrapped. My favorite is Joyce's Club wrap because it has the most things! Turkey, ham, cheese, bacon, avocado, sprouts, tomato, and garlic aioli in a spinach wrap. The ABC wrap - if you want something simple. Chicken Salad Wrap is a surprised with nice sweetness from the grapes and texture from the pecans. Chicken Caesar wrap hits all the right flavors. Applewood Bacon Tuna melt wrap is good, but one note. Missing some brightness. Chipotle Chicken wrap is my least favorite. On the dry side. Defintely needs a sauce. There's also a weekly special Jumbo Shrimp Salad wrap. This one is very good. Packed with plump, crunchy, flavorful shrimp. Also, its Portuguese Kale Soup is very good too, and packed with a surprising punch of flavor and spice. The Strawberry Chicken Salad is a favorite, and quite popular amongst my co-workers as well. It's an excellent balance of sweet, savory, and sour. Make this a wrap too! Or create a strawberry balsamic jam for the Chipotle Chicken wrap? Overall, Humi Deli & Juice is definitely a top place to grab food that's clean, fresh, healthy, handled with care, and well prepared. The employees there are super friendly. I started feeling sick over the weekend, so it was nice to pay a visit to the kind folks at Humu. Their soup of the day today was chicken noodle soup -- perfect for an "under the weather" day. The soup is not salty; chicken is flavorful and roasted; the soup had rotini, veggies, and lots of herbs, giving it great flavor without being a salt bomb. For dessert, I had the triple berry smoothie -- chock-full of vitamins and antioxidants! Again, the staff at Humu are so friendly. The owners and staff here, just like next door at Happy Mini Mart, are Korean, and they are always so kind when I try to speak in Korean to them to practice. By the way, because there is no room to sit inside, eating here is usually either a grab-and-go experience or a chance to eat al fresco. My coworker has been raving about this place and having it as his kind of go to for lunch, usually getting the healthier chicken wrap. They're a nice small little spot located across the street from the post office. They can get a little busy and with people standing outside waiting for their food making it sometimes hard to tell who ordered and who was waiting in line to order. They have a lot of sandwich and panini options as well as wraps. The prices are a little on the pricier side but comparable to other sandwich shops in the area like Strotos. The sandwiches are packed full! I kind of wish they came with chips for the price. They all have juices which i saw a lot of people order while we were waiting for our food. I found my ONE (chipotle chicken wrap) but my coworkers will try something different each time, each time surprised at how well the flavors blend together. Service is super friendly and understanding of food allergies/preferences. I come around 11 before the 12pm lunch rush, and get my food within 5 minutes. Sometimes might take a little longer if they have a huge order ahead of you. There's some umbrella tables to sit at and a few benches outside. Located right across from the Post Office, this little sandwich shop packs a mean punch of SUPER fresh ingredients. Every item I ordered thus far did not disappoint me. The powerhouse sandwich is filled with so many fresh veggies and meat that you'll have to try your best to not make a mess. If you're too busy to sit down and enjoy your meal because you need to eat while you work, I highly suggest either their paninis or wraps. One of my favorite wraps from there is the Joyce's wrap; it has the right amount of veggie crunch and cold cuts that will help you get through the rest of your work day without making a mess at your desk. This is a great spot for healthy eaters. I have eaten here a couple of times. I must say the dish that stands out the most for me is the strawberry Asian chicken salad. The dressing is not overpowering and the marinade red onions is a nice touch. I don't care for goat cheese however, giving a good toss before eating you wouldn't think it's goat cheese. Why are paninis so hard to find?! Everyone should have paninis! Who doesn't love their bread toasted and warm? I was so tempted to go back for another panini and soup today but I had to resist. I got a mozzarella, tomato, chicken, and basil panini ($10) with a small corn chowder ($4). The panini was nice and warm and the mozzarella had that nice stretch to it. Both the sandwich and corn chowder had great flavor and exceeded my expectations. I thought the basil would over power the panini but they added just the right amount. The chicken was also juicy and tender. For $14 I did feel it was a bit much for a sandwich and soup but it was pretty good and way better than anything at Subway. I once got a smoothie...I forgot what it was. But it tasted like POG and I liked it. If you're ever in the area or visiting the downtown post office visit them right across the street. This place is great. Ive been getting panini's from here for a while now. I'm a strict pollotarian so i always get the chicken option number 27 or 29. But today after finishing finishing 3/4 of my sandwich i found a piece of red meat dangling. I am indian. I got the 27. Chicken and Sundried Tomato Panini. There was bacon sandwiched in two slices of cheese. This is not mentioned on their menu at all!! Wth?! I like this place a-lot but this was not right. I just ate something I've always avoided and i am not happy about it. I knew it tasted a bit off so i split it to take off the tomatoes thinking that was it. But no. A small cute and welcoming deli! Noticed they opened at 7am and served breakfast, so decided to try them out. The owners were very welcoming and cheerful. I ordered the Fried Rice breakfast plate, which comes with a choice of meat and two eggs. Fried rice was very tasty and worth the price! $6.25. I also noticed small grab and go sides, so I picked up strawberries and blueberries sides.
