Where's the turkey? 2 slice on one side really?
    Wam M.

I had heard about this place but had never tried it before. I love a good sandwich, so I was excited to give it a shot. Ordering ahead was easy and convenient, which I appreciated, and pickup was smooth. When I picked up my sandwich, my first thought was, "Wow, this is a heavy sandwich for a turkey-bacon with added avocado, no onions, and no tomato." At the time I assumed the weight meant a generous portion of turkey and bacon. Unfortunately, when I got back to work and opened it, I quickly realized that wasn't the case--it was the lettuce. There was an overwhelming amount of lettuce packed into the sandwich, to the point where it felt completely out of balance. Instead of being turkey-forward, it felt more like a lettuce sandwich with a few toppings added in. The turkey and bacon portions themselves were surprisingly small and unevenly distributed--one half had about two slices of turkey while the other had closer to a slice and a half. Most of the bacon was also concentrated on one half, so I ended up redistributing it just to make the sandwich feel a bit more balanced. The bread didn't help either. I think I shouldn't have gotten it toasted--it just didn't do it for me. It felt a little off with the filling and didn't add anything to the overall experience. I ordered The Duke, but what I didn't realize was that I was essentially getting a salad sandwich (see pic). I like lettuce on a sandwich, but this was next level--the amount completely overwhelmed everything else inside. The cost was another consideration--my total came to $19.37, including a $3.50 charge for avocado. For the portion size and balance of ingredients, I expected a bit more bang for my buck. If I give this place a second chance, I'll definitely need to say 'lite lettuce'--or maybe just 'no lettuce, please'--unless I want another salad disguised as a sandwich!

This is the kind of shop I like when I feel like having a sandwich. Local ingredients whenever possible that are fresh, stacked well, and with a variety of options to customize. Packaging made from compostable and/or renewable resources. Their delicious The Duke starts with a ciabatta that is delivered fresh every day and toasted so the base is firm and holds everything well but with a tender chewy bite. Chopped Maui butter lettuce, some local tomato, their pickled red onion, bacon bits, and fresh roasted and hand carved turkey. This is a club styled sandwich I can enjoy any day. The Fonz is a delightful alternative. Another toasted ciabatta base. Layers of pastrami, salami, proscuitto, lettuce, tomato, pickled red onion, house olive tapenade w sun dried tomato, and mayo. I love that they're in Kaimukī. A wonderful almost hole-in-the wall sandwich shop in business more than ten years in the same spot, full of ho'okipa and going strong.

I am not usually a sandwich person, but Sprout is one of few exceptions. Their sandwiches are hearty, healthy and delicious, and you can choose to order them with ciabatta, multigrain or gluten free bread. My go to order is the Duke, toasted with thick hand carved turkey slices, crispy bacon and my favorite part, pickled red onion. I also love the slightly spicy Big Kahtuna with finely chopped jalapenos. They get really busy at lunch time, so I would recommend ordering ahead online. It is both quick and convenient.

Sprout Sandwich in Kaimukī is one of those places that just makes you feel good walking in. The staff are always friendly and full of positive energy, and you can tell they enjoy what they do. That kind of vibe makes a difference. Their sandwiches strike the perfect balance between healthy and delicious. A lot of places advertise "healthy" food but the flavor ends up lacking. That's definitely not the case here, everything is fresh, satisfying, and thoughtfully put together. My daughter especially loves the Kahtuna on ciabatta bread, which has become our go-to order. It's one of those sandwiches you keep coming back for. And honestly, at a time when places like McDonald's or Burger King are charging $15 for a meal, Sprout feels like a wholesome and affordable alternative. You leave feeling full and good about what you ate. Great food, great people, great energy. Sprout is definitely one of our favorite spots in Kaimukī. Highly recommended.

Great sandwich's, excellent service (super sweet ladies), clean and inviting atmosphere.

Fresh and simple, Sprouts Kaimuki does a fantastic job incorporating local produce into their sandwiches. As much as I love a saucy sandwich, Sprouts really allows for their fresh tomatoes, butter lettuce, and basil to shine throughout their selections, making them the main star of the show. We ordered the Don Patrol and the Yogi, both were great, the Yogi being a standout (I think they make their own hummus). The Yogi was definitely sprout heavy which, if you like that sort of thing, really adds. The Don Patrol, which basil, tomato, and mozz, was simple but sometimes that's what you're looking for. Would def come back

Fonz turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag for me. While the combo itself was fine, the much-touted size was pretty unremarkable when compared to the generously-sized sandwiches I'm accustomed to in the Bay Area. This left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. I also found the fresh ciabatta disappointing, as it didn't have the soft, fresh texture I was hoping for, even though I ordered it untoasted. On the plus side, I appreciate their inclusion of sprouts, but overall, the sandwich was just passable. They have an order ahead option online but they said that at peak hours they will prioritize walk-ins. Parking available paid in lot and metered on street.

I am not a sandwich fan. I normally would choose burger over sandwich. All this started because a friend told me that this place has prettt good sandwiches in town. He enjoyed his sandwich with non-stop "yum yum hmmmm yum" sound out of his mouth full of sandwich, I decided to give this place a try. It was a small cute clean sandwich shop with a very welcoming vibe. So I placed an online order. It was ready before the estimated time. When I went to pick up the sandwich, the girls working there were friendly and quickly helped me found my sandwich among other online orders. I ordered the no comply which is a Macadamia but pesto chicken sandwich. After one bite, I was blown away by the flavours of the fresh lettuce, macadamia nut pesto chicken and the bread! I ended up eating the whole thing instead of saving half for later. I may not be a sandwich fan, but I think I am falling in love with this one! I will definitely go back and try other sandwiches here.

I honestly forgotten how good Sprout Sandwich was and they're right in our neighborhood. The only downsides are 1. The limited parking. You can either opt for street parking, come on a sunday when parking is free, or park in one of the lots nearby. 2. The hours - they close way too early (3pm!). I picked up a turkey sandwich and it was about $14? They also give you a huge portion of turkey for your dog for FREE if you bring them along with you. The wait can be a little long but i do like how they use really fresh ingredients. Probably best if you call it in or something, especially if you're paying the meter on a weekday.

The food, service and ambience at Sprout Sandwich shop is always top tier. It is a small, hole in the wall but dont let that fool you! Their sandwiches are all tasty and replenishing for those looking for a healthy lunch or midmorning meal! I love this spot

    Fonz Sandwich

I still think about this sandwich from time to time because it was just so delicious. It's a little shop with the friendliest workers. The menu is descriptive, easy to read but SUPER hard to choose from as they all make your mouth water. I ended up picking the Fonz which is: fresh prosciutto, pastrami, & salami, house olive tapenade, Maui butter lettuce, pickled red onion & house mayo. Let me tell you, one of the best sandwiches ever. You can see how beautiful it is in my picture! For the quality of ingredients and the pretty loaded sandwich, it's such a good price (15) and you're supporting local. It's a win. The shop is a take out spot, with the menu items written so beautifully in chalk and it's a very welcoming space even though it's kinda tiny. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there is no seating and most parking you do have to pay for. It's not much but since more-so grab and go, just something to think about. I paid for parking just around the corner and it's such a cute area to walk around in. We ate our sandwiches at a nearby park and enjoyed our view of Diamond Head. Writing this review makes me want to head back now and get about 5 more sandwiches. The little detail drawn on our sandwiches was so cute too.

    Gluten free Duke
    Angela W.

Was across the street for work and dropped in to grab a sando. I was happy they offered gluten free bread for $1.50 extra. I got the Duke sandwich $15 and after chips it was $20. I was skeptical it would be a good experience as the sandwich was square vs a roll. However I have to say it was very good, generous on the turkey and bacon. The pickled onion and home made mayo really elevated this to warrant the price.

    Don Patrol & Tuna
    Kyllie N.

One of my favorite places to grab a quick sandwich on the way to the beach! I would definitely recommend ordering online in advance so that you know exactly when your order is ready & so you can walk straight in, grab your food, and go. Parking can be tricky if it's busy in the area, but if you're lucky you can get a street stall right in front of the store. It's grab and go so you can't eat inside. The store itself is super small. I would recommend The Duke or Don Patrol with prosciutto (there's no meat in the don patrol). I highly recommend Sprout if you're in the mood for a delicious sandwich or if you're in Kaimuki/Kahala area!

Since it was their anniversary on Sunday, also got their celebratory funfetti cupcake which also like their baked goods did not disappoint. The croissant base of many of their pastries is flaky. It's such a neat take to have char siu in a croissant. We are used to having it in the doughy bao bread but in a croissant, savory with a crunchy outside tastes so much better. I love sweet but this one wasn't overly sweet, who would have thought that mango and chocolate pair so well together. It's the summer months, fresh mango on pastries. It was the perfect ripeness.
