We decided to get the No Comply toasted. While it is a pricier sandwich, as it was about $14, the sandwich came packed with chicken, lettuce, and more. It served as a meal and a half! In my opinion, a really great sandwich excels because you can taste the quality, freshness, and flavor of its individual ingredients. In my sandwich, the turkey was flavorless and it felt like they used a strong, heavy sauce to give it flavor, which to me does not make for a foodie destination, $15+ sandwich. Māla Market in Hawaii Kai remains, by far, my favorite sandwich. And given how long Sprout took, I could've driven to Hawaii Kai, gotten my sandwich, and driven back in less time. read more

I had heard about this place but had never tried it before. I love a good sandwich, so I was excited to give it a shot. Ordering ahead was easy and convenient, which I appreciated, and pickup was smooth. When I picked up my sandwich, my first thought was, "Wow, this is a heavy sandwich for a turkey-bacon with added avocado, no onions, and no tomato." At the time I assumed the weight meant a generous portion of turkey and bacon. Unfortunately, when I got back to work and opened it, I quickly realized that wasn't the case--it was the lettuce. There was an overwhelming amount of lettuce packed into the sandwich, to the point where it felt completely out of balance. Instead of being turkey-forward, it felt more like a lettuce sandwich with a few toppings added in. The turkey and bacon portions themselves were surprisingly small and unevenly distributed--one half had about two slices of turkey while the other had closer to a slice and a half. Most of the bacon was also concentrated on one half, so I ended up redistributing it just to make the sandwich feel a bit more balanced. The bread didn't help either. I think I shouldn't have gotten it toasted--it just didn't do it for me. It felt a little off with the filling and didn't add anything to the overall experience. I ordered The Duke, but what I didn't realize was that I was essentially getting a salad sandwich (see pic). I like lettuce on a sandwich, but this was next level--the amount completely overwhelmed everything else inside. The cost was another consideration--my total came to $19.37, including a $3.50 charge for avocado. For the portion size and balance of ingredients, I expected a bit more bang for my buck. If I give this place a second chance, I'll definitely need to say 'lite lettuce'--or maybe just 'no lettuce, please'--unless I want another salad disguised as a sandwich! read more

I love the online ordering function. I tried the Yogi sandwich recently and it was so healthy and filled with veggies and hummus. The hummus wasn't lathered on or as thick as their Sproutwich so keep that in mind. I genuinely feel like this is a really good post-workout meal that isn't too heavy - especially if you do yoga. Maybe that's why it's called the Yogi LOL. I also enjoy the dragonfruit kombucha that they have here when they have it I like to pick one up to have with my sandwich. Chopped Maui butter lettuce, some local tomato, their pickled red onion, bacon bits, and fresh roasted and hand carved turkey. This is a club styled sandwich I can enjoy any day. The Fonz is a delightful alternative. Another toasted ciabatta base. Layers of pastrami, salami, proscuitto, lettuce, tomato, pickled red onion, house olive tapenade w sun dried tomato, and mayo. I would definitely recommend ordering online in advance so that you know exactly when your order is ready & so you can walk straight in, grab your food, and go. Parking can be tricky if it's busy in the area, but if you're lucky you can get a street stall right in front of the store. It's grab and go so you can't eat inside. The store itself is super small. For those of you that don't know, they are located on Koko Hear Ave, close to the corner of Waialae Ave. Right next to the crack seed store (that has also been there forever). But of course, over the years the prices have gone up, so I have found myself coming here less and less. My husband and I usually order two different sandwiches and trade halfsies. Just as the name simply describes what you're in for, freshness in the coziest sandwich shop all the freshness makes it so worth the trip to Kaimuki just get here before 3pm and calling ahead for your order is recommended as they do get busy here though the team here rocks it making it faster than you can imagine. There were times that I've stopped the work flow whenever someone sees me with this work of art with just a glance they were instantly in a trance wanting to know where to find it and it's right up in Kaimuki right next to the Crack Seed Store and there's no seating like they used to have a few years back but they do have that system to wrapping your sandwich perfectly to transport it without any shifty shift holding its own beautifully.
