We decided to get the No Comply toasted. While it is a pricier sandwich, as it was about $14, the sandwich came packed with chicken, lettuce, and more. It served as a meal and a half! I love that Sprout has vegetable-forward options even in their meat-based sandwiches. The pesto chicken salad was loaded with beautiful green goodies which made this treat as aesthetically pleasing as it was delectable. They're also slapping down some of the best local Hawaiian ingredients into these here sanguines. The pesto itself was mac-nut based, which was intriguing. I'll be honest, I couldn't taste the difference between that and a pine nut pesto, but it was friggin delish pesto either way. The only downside I can think of is that the bread here lands somewhere between "ok" and "good". I've never had a bread quite like it, but it reminds me of a mix between an artisanal white bread, and a painini bread that you would find in Italy. It got the job done, but I feel like it could be upgraded. Sprout is worth a visit before or after your beach trip. It feels like one of those places that has become trendy because someone on Instagram popularized it. The sandwich was good but not great. The lettuce was turning brown. In my opinion, a really great sandwich excels because you can taste the quality, freshness, and flavor of its individual ingredients. In my sandwich, the turkey was flavorless and it felt like they used a strong, heavy sauce to give it flavor, which to me does not make for a foodie destination, $15+ sandwich. I love the online ordering function. I tried the Yogi sandwich recently and it was so healthy and filled with veggies and hummus. The hummus wasn't lathered on or as thick as their Sproutwich so keep that in mind. I genuinely feel like this is a really good post-workout meal that isn't too heavy - especially if you do yoga. Maybe that's why it's called the Yogi LOL. I also enjoy the dragonfruit kombucha that they have here when they have it I like to pick one up to have with my sandwich. I had heard about this place but had never tried it before. I love a good sandwich, so I was excited to give it a shot. Ordering ahead was easy and convenient, which I appreciated, and pickup was smooth. When I picked up my sandwich, my first thought was, "Wow, this is a heavy sandwich for a turkey-bacon with added avocado, no onions, and no tomato." At the time I assumed the weight meant a generous portion of turkey and bacon. Unfortunately, when I got back to work and opened it, I quickly realized that wasn't the case--it was the lettuce. There was an overwhelming amount of lettuce packed into the sandwich, to the point where it felt completely out of balance. Instead of being turkey-forward, it felt more like a lettuce sandwich with a few toppings added in. The turkey and bacon portions themselves were surprisingly small and unevenly distributed--one half had about two slices of turkey while the other had closer to a slice and a half. Most of the bacon was also concentrated on one half, so I ended up redistributing it just to make the sandwich feel a bit more balanced. The bread didn't help either. I think I shouldn't have gotten it toasted--it just didn't do it for me. It felt a little off with the filling and didn't add anything to the overall experience. I ordered The Duke, but what I didn't realize was that I was essentially getting a salad sandwich (see pic). I like lettuce on a sandwich, but this was next level--the amount completely overwhelmed everything else inside. The cost was another consideration--my total came to $19.37, including a $3.50 charge for avocado. For the portion size and balance of ingredients, I expected a bit more bang for my buck. You can either opt for street parking, come on a sunday when parking is free, or park in one of the lots nearby. 2. The hours - they close way too early (3pm!). I have been coming to Sprout for years. For those of you that don't know, they are located on Koko Hear Ave, close to the corner of Waialae Ave. Right next to the crack seed store (that has also been there forever). I have always enjoyed coming here, the service is usually fast, and the sandwiches are consistently good. But of course, over the years the prices have gone up, so I have found myself coming here less and less. My husband and I usually order two different sandwiches and trade halfsies. This way we get best of both worlds :D At our most recent visit, we got: The No Comply ($12.50) Macadamia nut pesto chicken salad, Maui butter lettuce, local tomato & garlic mayo.
