I've tried at least one type of everything to the point I feel comfortable giving a review. Bahn Mi is especially good and filling - the Vince's Special is and will be my go to. Everything is filled appropriately from the veggies to the filling (the Vince special, roast pork, etc.) and is seasoned well. Highly recommend trying the special and the recently added lemongrass chicken. It's amazing! The noodle bowl is good. Flavorful, filling and decently sized. I prefer the Bahn mi over the bowl but if you're looking for a different starch than bread then this is a great alternative. I can't have shrimp but I always get the tofu rolls when I want something small. A nice affordable and delicious healthy snack, but still filling and keeps me going at work. The coffee is very flavorful. The effect is strong too. I splurge on this every now and again but for sure a nice treat, especially during a hot day. I always get the black coffee. I always come here for lunch when im craving something healthy and light. It keeps me going throughout the day. The service is very friendly and engaging, which always has me coming back. Good Vietnamese iced coffee! A must get! Super hidden spot outside of Kahala Mall. You have to walk outside the theaters by the bathrooms and walk to your left or walk outside Taco Bell and Panda Express exit and walk to your right side. I stopped by this Vietnamese café next to CorePower Yoga in Kahala for the first time, and it was a wonderful experience! The café was very clean, and everyone on the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee, lychee tea, and summer rolls, and everything was absolutely delicious. If you enjoy spicy food, just let them know--they even offered me a special hot pepper, which was a nice touch! What impressed me the most was the customer service. As I was leaving, both of my hands were full with my food and drinks, and one of the staff members noticed right away and kindly opened the door for me. It's those thoughtful little gestures that make a place truly memorable. Great food, wonderful drinks, and exceptional service. I'll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend this place! Welcome to the neighborhood! Lots of free parking as this is conveniently located in Kahala Mall. You can see their store front as you drive in from the theater side of the mall. Standing room only to place your order, they have two tables outside of their front door to sit and wait or eat. We came on a Saturday morning and there was a line for lunch. Three employees behind the counter, so things moved reasonably quick. Starting with the Vietnamese salted coffee, this was refreshing but it had quite a bit of ice. We sipped this to the bottom of the cup in no time. Next, we split a roast pork bahn mi. This tasted okay but the bread could have been crisper. Wasn't expecting green onion inside the sandwich but it worked. We also split a tofu vermicelli bowl. Generous portion of noodles and seasoned tofu. I am so happy to find banh mi in Kahala again. I've been missing the old BaLe takeout at the mall. Vince's Cafe is the perfect addition. They are open at 8am. It's just a tiny hole in the wall with no seating inside but with a couple tables outside, located next to the CorePower Yoga. The menu is simple, either banh mi, noodle bowls, or summer rolls. I tried the Vince's special banh mi ($13.45) and shrimp and pork roll ($6.95). The sandwich was very good because they use Thai chilies, not jalapeños. Plus, I like the curls of green onions alongside the cilantro. It was a nice touch. However, I felt the bread fell short. It could've been warmer and crunchier. The summer roll is the winner having both shrimp and pork. Plus, the peanut sauce was delicious and the perfect accompaniment! Went on a Wednesday to try their signature bahnmi. Service was good but bahnmi was lacking compared to another local shop. I didn't expect raw green onions in the sandwich and a few skinny sprigs of parsley. Located on the backside of the mall, it's next to CorePower Yoga, across the free, covered parking lot from the Goodwill Donation site. It used to be Uncle Sharkii Poke Bar. Outside, there's a helpful sidewalk sign. The inside is cozy and efficient. The workers are very cheerful and helpful! I ordered a peach iced tea which was a bit sweet at first. I let the ice melt - then it wasn't that sweet! There were small, round, clear coconut (?) gel at the bottom of the cup... fun and chewy! I also got a tofu banh mi - it was delicious! I liked the pickled veggies and soft bread with slightly toasted crust. We ate inside of the air conditioned, clean, bright, carpeted mall. Decided to try this fairly new Cafe located outside Kahala Mall next door to Core power yoga . Vince's Cafe took over Uncle Sharkii Poke spot. Friendly service although look at my pic on the Vietnamese iced coffee. They didn't fill the coffee to the top it was mostly ice. Of course it's not crushed ice so the cube ice takes more space . The BBQ chicken Bahn Mi had no taste but the Char Siu pork was not bad . Prices are on the little high side . Also I like my French bread toasted a little Vince's Cafe don't unless they forgot ? When you first come in, Vince (I assume) was very friendly and welcoming! The menu is clean, straight-forward, and not too long (which I prefer). I tried their house special banh mi and their matcha taro. Their banh mi was delicious and I've discovered I love Thai chili peppers over jalapenos in the sandwich! I would've preferred a little more veggies in my banh mi, but I don't think this affects my opinion of how much I liked the sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised by matcha taro! The matcha they used had a subtle floral note which balanced out the bitterness of the matcha, while keeping the flavor. The taro was a little sweet which made the overall balance of the drink perfect! However- if you don't like chewing your drinks I would skip the taro :-) I can't wait to try more items! Tucked away next to Core Power Yoga is a tough banh mi and coffee shop that you should try. The going rate for banh mi is in the $13-$15 range and Vince's is at the lower end, around $13.5o. I tried the special bahn mi, which had roast pork (kind of char siu-like but softer), slu es of steamed chicken roll saysage, patê and the pickled veggies (dò chua). The flavors blended nicely with the light coating of mayonnaise. There was a hint of curry flavor in the sandwich, but I wasn't sure if it was in the mayo. Another good think was the roll wasn't overly crispy and crunchy (you know, the cuts the roof of your mouth type of roll) so it made the sandwich much easier to eat. The shop is small but they do have a few cafe tables outside to sit at. Service was very friendly and fast. Overall it's a good addition to the food choices at Kahala Mall. It seemed a bit underseasoned though. We also got the roasted pork for $14.50. Again, there was something missing in seasoning. It was actual pieces of roast pork (like Chinatown style) and looked so good! It just needed a touch of salt. She did ask me if I wanted spicy or not. Vince's has friendly, efficient staff and the food was good. Pricing is par for the course in Kahala. Vince's is take out only and is tiny so if you see people in the shop, you may chose to hover near the door instead of going inside as it gets too cozy (for me) with more than three customers. The menu was clear, a good amount of choices and everyone enjoyed their sandwiches. After losing Hawaii Kai Ba-Le, I was very happy to see Vince's open! Food was very fresh and tasty. It's like my prayers have been answered, a banh mi place near me that opens early. I got the Vince's special and coconut coffee. Both were delicious. I love the bread that they use, it doesn't dissolve in your mouth like another popular banh mi place. It is chewy and holds up to the delicious fillings. The only thing that could make the place better is larger coffee size and that they open earlier. I have been hesitant to try new places in Hawaii lately since there's been more misses than hits. However, I am happy to report that Vince's Cafe is a hit! I tried this place with my husband and we both ended up being satisfied! The bahn mi bread is extremely soft, but still held the crunch! We felt that the bahn mi sandwiches had ample filling! We tried the drinks and they were just as tasty! The Vietnamese Black Coffee was nice and strong. Also, I recommend the Coconut Matcha! It was fragrant and perfect for the hot weather! Friendly service from this family owned business! I was greeted politely when I walked in and a man explained menu items for me. Food came out in 5-10 minutes with 1 person in line before me. Combination Sandwich - Delicious, the bread was the right amount of crunchy & soft. The mayonnaise & pate is very flavorful. The employee mentioned they make their pate and mayo in house! They include a chopped bird's eye chili in the sandwich if you ask for it spicy. Matcha Taro - They make their own taro paste at the bottom and it's finely ground & sweetened. The matcha is on the grassy, milky side which is offset by the sweet taro paste. I like taro so this was a treat, not too sweet overall. Brown Sugar Latte with Grass Jelly - My mom ordered this drink & liked it. The grass jelly is also made in house and has a good texture, I shared with her. Not very sweet so expect a stronger milk coffee flavor and not a super sweet brown sugar profile. Overall we would be back for sandwiches and other beverages!
