This was the best Chinese cuisine I've ever had! The waiter, possibly the manager, was able to help me pick out menu items that were suitable for my vegan diet. Everything he suggested and brought to the table was excellent. It was all so fresh and so delicious. I seriously could not stop eating even when I was completely full. I had the veggie lettuce wraps with the waiters suggestion of adding pickled ginger and dumpling sauce..... amazing! Next, we had the homemade veggie steamed dumpling. Omg.... I am drooling just thinking about those pretty little works of art! They were amazing. The best dumplings (and the prettiest too) that I've ever had. Next, we had a veggie dish with white sauce. I forget the name... sorry. That was good too. The veggie were cooked just right. Not too soggy and not too crunchy. Everything was so fresh and the waiter was extremely nice and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised finding this little gem in Rosenberg. I've been living in Rosenberg for 5 years and have never come across this place. I can thank my 9 year old for pushing us to go for his birthday dinner. He wanted Chinese and we thought we would just go for it. It's located in a somewhat rundown strip mall off of 90, but don't let that deter you. It's worth giving it a shot. We are new to this area and were looking for a good Chinese Restaurant with a good price. My husbands new coworkers brought us here and we have been coming ever since. They were very accommodating to my picky 3 year old and the owner actually gave us some tips on things children like to eat for our next visit. They servings are very generous and very good. Ok let me start by saying this , the food is pretty decent and has nice flavor to it but always find a hair and end up taking it back ... so this is why I give it 1 star , I've been there 4 times in my life and every time I go same thing happens and so many people have told me the same thing plus the lady who owns the place is sooo sooo rude and disrespectful. This has been a staple in the community for a long time. Over the last 5 years, they have provided great meals for my family and we have found the lo mein to be our favorite overall. Always friendly, always hot and there are great options on the menu which I would recommend trying, but I do not want to spoil the fun for anyone interested. My family has been coming to this restaurant for close to 30 years. The family dining style is the best way to enjoy this place- everyone orders something different and you can sample everything that way. The food is amazing and this place has become a family go-to for birthdays and anniversaries... or in the case of my co-workers, a great place to stop for lunch. We have been loyal customers to restaurant and it's same owner -since around 1984. While owner can be friendly, she can sometimes sound curt, but we let that ride cuz it's just her way. But last night was NO OK! We called in an order for some entries, with an appetizer of steamed dumplings so she said order would be ready in 20 minutes. My husband arrived in 15 minutes and she starts talking loud and in front of all the dine in customers "you're too early. I told your wife 20 minutes." He says, "ok-I'm 5 minutes early. No problem as I can wait". But she went on & on about how the dumplings take 20 minutes and how she specifically told me on phone 20 minutes. All loud and in front of the customers. He then said "5 minutes. Ok. Yeah. And would you rather me be early or late?" He was mad, embarrassed, etc. WTH? He said we will never go there again. As he said, it has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DETAILS OF TIMING, IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH HOWWWW SHE DELIVERED HER MESSAGE. Why not "oh, you are early. We are working on your order as the dumplings take 20 minutes. We'll have it out to you shortly." But Instead-she made a big, loud production of it. He felt reprimanded in front of everyone, and for simply arriving 5 minutes early to pick up an order. We have never posted a complaint before. But that was not appropriate or called for. Hunan Garden is fantastic; make no mistake, if you choose to dine here, whether for lunch or dinner, you will be extremely pleased. From the diverse, tasty menu, to the ambiance of the restaurant itself, to the welcoming owners, staff and servers, one's experience at Rosenberg's Hunan Garden is top-notch. A personal favorite is starting with a small cup of wonton soup, and then the lemon chicken for an entree. (The fried fish is also extremely good!) The food is always so good, hot and consistent, it's hard to find a really good Chinese restaurant around the Rosenberg area and I have to say this is one of few. The hot and sour soup is a MUST. I'm actually craving it right now! The only thing i must say is "annoying" about this place is every time I come in or order to go, there is this one lady that works there that always questions my order, asking how many people I'm feeding or saying I must be really hungry, even if I'm only ordering an entrée and a soup. After reading reviews on here and the Next Door app, we thought we would try this restaurant for lunch today. When we walked in, the waitress immediately asked us if we wanted iced tea. Multiple times. I said no thanks and asked for Dr. Pepper. My husband asked for a water. They came back with a Dr. Pepper and iced tea... I get that y'all must like your iced tea. So we ordered our food. Sesame chicken and General Tsos. I asked for white rice with mine. She came back with fried rice for me. The general tsos sauce was pretty chunky with onions and chunks of garlic. Maybe that's just a personal preference but it wasn't my thing. We were seated at a table in the corner of the room so once more people were seated we weren't asked how our food was or given refills. The man who took my credit card literally couldn't get to our table to give me the credit card back so he had to give it to my husband through the bamboo divider. When we were leaving, I had to ask a nice older lady to get up out of her chair because we were literally trapped. Not a place I wanna be trapped in. Won't be back! read more

We have been searching for great Chinese cuisine for some time now in Texas. I read others reviews here and felt that this was safe place to try. The place was nice about what I expected. With that said we were disappointed with our food. Probably because we have had great Chinese cuisine before. To us this was not our best experience. The wait staff was good and the owner was accommodating. She offered to go above and beyond for use and we refused. We paid our bill which was reasonable about $40 for two people. Unfortunately we left most of it on the table. The fried wontons were just deep fried with nothing in them at all. All the fried wontons we have had at other places always have a small amount of meat in them, these also had an after taste and were mostly over fried. My guess is that the oil needed to be changed. The egg roll was a bit better for the price its stuffed. Again left a after taste. The portions were substantial. With our main courses we ate a couple bites of each and then asked for our check. Highly disappointed but wanted to be fair as I could be with this review. As I stated the owner or manager offered to make us something else and tried to go out of her way to please us. So that is a huge plus with me because some places could care less. I am sure the other reviewers were quite pleased we were not. In short the food here was just not to our taste, and because the manager/owner was practically demanding we let her make us something else is the main reason this is a 3 star rating because in this day and age it seems rare that a business actually cares about a customers experience. I forgot to mention that i was a little disappointed. I order pan fried noodle dish but was very disappointed when we got it. The only fried thing on the dish was something that looked like fried chips on top....not pan fried noodles as the name of the dish implies. I will definitely not ordering that again. I don't think we only are like three spoon servings of it and that's it. It was my what I wanted plus it wasn't really good.....or maybe I was just really looking forward to getting a normal pan fried noodle dish when I order at other places that it just didn't do it for me at all. read more

My Customer took me here for dinner one evening while I was onsite. We were all craving good chinese food in a rather small town and this place had a high Yelp! review so we decided to check it out. It did not disappoint. The entries are really filling. We ended up Ordering the Sesame Chicken, Lemon Chicken and a jalapeno beef sort of dish (sorry, I don't remember the name of it) and the won ton soup. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Funny story though... so my customer orders a hot sake for she and I to share. The waiter comes to the table with a tea pot and she and I looked at each other sort of funny. I don't recall ever getting a sake in a tea pot, but ok. I kept enjoying my soup as my customer poured herself a cup. As she was sipping it, she looked at me again and she said "This doesn't taste like any sake I have ever had" so I took a cup and poured some for a sip. When it reach my taste buds I was like "hmmmmm this tastes just like hot water" and that's what I said to my customer. She called the waiter over and said we ordered sake... and before we could even finish, he lifts the list and there sits the sake carafe. Whooda thunk to do that to keep it hot. #lessonslearned.
