This was a very interesting experience. It was a combination of ok/ok service and ok/good food. In Mt Pleasant there are limited options for Vegans. This place had vegan options and is close to the hotel. You seat yourself and that was cool because it wasn't busy and the place is intimate. The server was kind and also continuously made errors. She gave me the wrong food made my drink wrong, added food on my bill that wasn't mine. And she fixed it with no problem. Again, they were not busy. So it was ok/ok. The spring roll tasted like it was cooked in old grease. The hunan tofu dish was good and spicy. The server was really nice it was just a mixed experience. read more

Pros: the place was clean and service was fast and friendly. cons: I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps. the menu stated it was served with stir fried veggies with crunchy rice noodles with a bed of fresh lettuce heads. the meal was compatible to a lean cuisine poured out on two Romain lettuce leafs. im convinced nothing was stir fried. this was a a bag of frozen peas and carrots and Tyson frozen pre cooked chicken microwaved. the food was rubbery like steaMable frozen veggies are. with a pile of sauce. there was a very small amount of rice noodles which were saturated in the sauce, leaving no crunch to the meal texture. I also could not eat this meal as a lettuce wrap due to the romain lettuce leaf being wilted. couldn't even cut it with a knife. no crunch from lettuce or the noodles, just rubber microwaved meal. read more

I really didn't understand the low ratings at first.. the food LOOKS magical, presentation is on point, the prices are decent and it's a clean, bright restaurant.. But, I was terrified to move at ALL both times as their booths seem to be defective.. if you move your body at ALL, it sounds like you just shit out loud. If you've dined in, you know what I mean.. I've eaten here a decent amount over the years always getting mixed vegetables and a honeydew boba tea! Unfortunately I went a week or so ago and wanted to try something new. I asked the waitress if the sweet and sour tofu or whatever it was called has the same vegetables as the mixed vegetables she said yes so I agreed to get it. It was absolutely not what I had been looking forward to, as opposed to broccoli baby corns bamboo chutes sugar snaps, the works you know, I got onions, pineapple, carrots and green pepper with undercooked fried tofu. The waitress didn't apologize or express any consolation for the mix up instead when I asked for what veggies my friend had on her plate she brought me more onions carrots and green peppers. While I watched my friend eat the waitress and another stood at the counter complaining about customers. I never have bad experiences or complaints at restaurants like this so this had me almost at tears. read more

Customer service was awful. Shows egg roll and spring roll on receipt but never was placed in the to go bag. Talked to an employee named Duane who was pretty rude and pretty ignorant as he refused to give us the spring and egg rolls. Then as we said we've never had their food be this way proceeded to tell us about our past history (which was only our phone history) not what we've ordered in store. Hunan House's menu includes both Japanese and Chinese foods! the Chinese food menu is great. The egg rolls are more of a spring roll, but a chicken option is available. The egg drop soup is the best in town! The Japanese menu is a little disappointing. While they do offer hibachi, sushi and other traditional dishes, their sushi selection is VERY limited. So, if you're solely looking for sushi, I wouldn't recommend this place. Service was very prompt, very polite, and delivery is always reliable no matter the time! read more

I have eaten here 3 times now. All 3 times the restaurant was clean, and we were waited on immediately. The food was made quickly. Crab Rangoon, Honey Walnut Shrimo, Egg Drop Soup, and Eggrolls, were great. The Sesame Chicken I had last time was so dry that I could only eat a few pieces. The chicken was not cut in similarly size pieces, which left the smaller pieces extremely dry. Even the larger pieces were too dry, but slightly better. Use a themometer to check the temp before overcooking or something. The people who worked there were very nice, by the way. And, the restaurant was clean and bright. read more

How do I start this off? YIKES! I called in a small togo, arrived and picked up an absolute nightmare. My order was a simple, princesses shrimp with white rice. I received a sloppy mess of fried rice and little to no vegetables and around 4 shrimp. Half of my Togo container was all sauce,wrong rice and no spring roll( that comes with the dinner). I called back and was placed with Duane. He was never friendly to begin with, I told him what had happened and he began to tell me that I was making this up and said that he prepared the food himself so it was never sloppy and that he placed the egg rolls in the bag. I opted for Chinese and was pleasantly surprised when the nice gentleman that answered the phone to take my order was someone I could plainly understand. I also choose the Mongolian chicken and fried rice (I also opted for two crab rangoon's). The portion is huge, though I rarely finish a plate of food. Hunan House used to be my go-to Chinese takeout place, but as of late the food quality has been so poor and the customer service just as bad. Today I ordered for delivery honey walnut shrimp, broccoli in oyster sauce, and 4 veggie egg rolls. I called after 45 minutes to make sure my order went through and they said it was on its way. About 30 minutes after that I got a call from the diver who was on the wrong street but said they would be there soon. I noticed instantly as the delivery guy handed me my bag that it was flooded in a brown sauce which got into some of my other items. My walnut shrimp and egg rolls were cold and soggy. All the food was cold. My broccoli, a dish I've gotten many times, was so salty I couldn't eat it. I called the restaurant back and was told that all they would do is refund me for the shrimp dish. I was told that "too salty" was just a taste preference despite that the sauce was watery from condensation. I basically threw 90% of our dishes away because they were just that bad. During this covid shutdown I wanted to support our local restaurants but after this food and the customer service I won't be ordering from them ever again. read more

Been going here for years. Both the food and service is great! They take good care of their customers, and the free delivery is awesome too. Had a situation where the delivery driver had called me to let me know my food was at my door, after I hung up with them, I went to retrieve my food to find nothing there. I gave the benefit of doubt and waited to see if the driving just called the wrong number or something like that. Half hour goes by and I call the resturant to try and figure out what happened. I spoke with Jordan and as everyone was still confused as to what happened to my original order, she had it remade and sent out to me. The driver made it a point to hand my food to me that time lol. Food tastes great and fairly decent prices, no complaint there. The delivery persons have always been really nice as well. However, the past 3 or 4 times I have ordered delivery they (who ever puts the order together & who ever checks the order for completion) have forgotten *at least* one portion of my order. Oftentimes it is the sweet and sour sauce (which the menu says that it comes on the side) and the food doesn't get delivered for 45minutes to an hour after order is placed. It's quite a long time to wait and still be missing items and again having to wait for the items to be dropped back off. read more

I think the delivery is its saving grace, because the in house service is terrible. It literally took them 30 min just to bring my food out. It takes them less to cook and deliver it to my house (free delivery) when I order online. Server never came back to check on us, and most of the time here is spent waiting on the server to take our order to bring our check.
