The food was amazing and the portions were generous. From the number of customers picking up food, I'd have to say they must be really popular. I had been greeted by a very friendly woman who promptly offered to take my order. I told her I was looking for a chinese restaurant to pick up food to eat at my hotel room. Pretty middling Chinese food. The chicken is always telling and this was overly breaded with soggy breading. The lo mein was good and the fried rice was OK. It's a takeout-only spot and the people were super nice but I can't recommend this based on food alone. read more

Went mid January and picked up Szechaun chicken lunch combo and a garlic chicken lunch combo. $20 for both including tax. Included wonderful fried rice with lots of sprouts and vegetarian egg rolls deep fried. Includes home made duck sauce that is sweet and vinegary. The chicken in both combos was tender and well marinated. Each dish was good for 2 light eaters. Vegetables we're fresh and not overcooked. Service was prompt and courteous. Your standard Chinese takeout place. The staff is super friendly and thorough. No indoor seating other than benches to wait for your carry out. The food was very good for Chinese takeout. A bit pricey but the portion was HUGE for the dinner combo and tasted fresh. General Tso's had a mild kick, beef with vegetables were in a tasty brown sauce and all the vegetables in both dishes were well cooked and not soggy like some places. Will come back again! read more

Ordered Chicken Egg foo young and had shrimp inside. Was super thick patties instead of regular thin patties. Flavor was bland without the sauce and fried rice had only sprouts and egg in it. What a great neighborhood spot for a quick and delicious meal!! We call our order in and tell them a time later in the day for pick up. So easy, so quick and so good! Our order is always hot and ready when we arrive. You can't go wrong with any meal here, but I have a pro tip for you. Yummy, FILLING, food that hits just right. My favorite is the Hunan Chicken. There's a lot of flavor in this food for something very inexpensive. First time ordering - I've been looking for a good Chinese place near us. The egg drop soup was good, not too thick or greasy like I've had at other places. The crab rangoons which were crispy and good, though a bit heavy on the onion flavor. The egg rolls were pretty good, could've been a little more crispy but the flavor was on point I ordered general tso chicken dinner and it was delicious! Not dry or over cooked - just right. And the fried rice was probably the best I've had in a long time! I am anxious to try other dishes - husband had pepper steak and said it was also very tasty. Huge portions for the dinners. As far as Chinese takeout goes, this will now be my go-to spot. Often with Chinese food the fired chicken pieces are far more fried bit then chicken. Here at Hunan Town that isn't the case. It's far more chicken then just fried bits with a measly amount of chicken. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken with the chicken fried rice and wanted to try the sweet and sour chicken as well. The Kung Pao chicken was delicious and wasn't all that spicy. Just seasoned well. I'm sure if you asked they would make it spicer. I weighed the container as a whole and it weighed almost 2 pounds (890 grams). It was absolutely loaded with food. The sweet and sour was the normal sauce everyone gives you but, it was given on the side so the fried chicken wasn't mushy when I got home. Both dishes were fried to perfection. They game me enough food to feed myself and GF and then to feed us both until we were stuffed again. For 4 meals, the cost was $22 dollars. That's not bad at all in my book. I can't recommend this place enough. Even with a 30 minute round trip it was excellent when I got home and dug in. read more

We've been eating their food since back when they had the restaurant Hunan Garden. We drive several miles past several other options to get what we believe is the best Chinese takeout we've had. We tried 6 different Chinese restaurants in early Covid times and when Hunan Town reopened we were right back there on their opening day and continue patronizing them regularly. The prices and portions are great , but most of all the food is fantastic! The staff is the best, too! read more
