I have had take out from here 4 or 5 times now and the food has been consistently good. Everything seems pretty fresh and taste quite good. I have dined in with my wife twice and it is a nice change of pace from the chain offerings of the Falls. One thing that irks me though is that when I order two dinners for take out they give you only one container of white rice. Every time I have leftover dinner entrees and no rice to go with it. Would it cost them that much more to include a pint of rice with each meal? read more

I have been getting take out from here for years! The food is always very fresh and flavorful and they have no problem adjusting it to your liking with more vegetables, spice, whatever you desire and it is not greasy like so many other "Chinese" restaurants. My favorite is pretty boring but I love the shrimp and broccoli with extra broccoli and snow peas. I think this is a good place overall but there were a few things that bothered me. I ordered the won ton soup. I've were greeted right away at the door by the guy owner who showed us to a quiet table. There are no booths at all, only tables. We had maybe two minutes before a women came to take our order. We ordered two waters and a hot green tea. She brought the drinks right away. The man who showed us our table comes over and asks if everything is ok and of we had any questions. I ask if they have the big qt size soup sizes because I'm on a soup kick and wanted to take my leftovers with me. The owner guy seemed really confused and hesitant and said it was for "takeout only". Eventually, he agreed but said he would charge me for two bowls of soup. There are only two restaurants in this area, This place and China Kitchen. The qt size at China kitchen is only 3.50 but here it is $5 (cost of 2 bowls of soup). My companion ordered pork fried rice to start. When my soup came, it was mostly broth. The flavor was a little bland. There were only four won ton dumplings (which were soggy and mushy) in the whole qt, then a lot of broth, and only a little bit of bok Choy, (the menu calls it "Chinese vegetables") on top. I wish they had included more bok Choy and more dumplings. It seemed like they were trying to save money. My companion asks for a little sample of the hot and sour soup. The woman seemed very hesitant. She said "normally not possible but since it was first time she will allow it". She brings the sample and it's very good. A lot of the kelp, egg drop, tofu, carrots and red chili flakes. We ordered a qt of that to-go. The pork fried rice is very good also. It came on a nice plate, and there was a good portion of it. Also, it had a lot of the egg, sprouts, and pork which was good. Overall, the service is very good. Our drinks stayed full. Most of the food was very good. But, I was seriously disappointed by the won ton soup. read more

Good local Chinese food in Germantown. Food is always fresh, well cooked and and not fishy like other places we've tried. Staff is very nice and quick...the food always takes 15 minutes from the time we order. Lunch buffet isn't huge but the quality is good. I'll take quality over quantity any day. read more

The food here is good. I've been several times and never had any problems with either the food or the service. Today though, I left zero tip for only the second time in my life (I am damn near 40). We showed up 15 minutes before they opened but didn't realize they weren't open yet, as we were chatting and the door was unlocked. Once we walked in and noticed no one was up front and the lights were off, we realized it wasn't open yet and left to run some errands. We came back at 3:28, two minutes before opening time. It's 25 degrees and windy out so we let ourselves in, as the door was still unlocked. A male employee came to us and mumbled something; we asked him to repeat as we didn't hear and he said, "can I help you". Like that, without any inflection. We said we were hoping to eat. He said we'd have to wait a few minutes and started to walk off; we said that was no big deal, no rush. Then he changed his mind and seated us. Okay, fine. We weren't put off by his not being friendly - didn't even realize it until later when we were trying trying to figure out what we did to piss these people off so much. The server came over almost right away with some water and asked what we want to drink; we thanked her and said water was fine. She asked if we knew what we wanted and we said not yet, and she left. All was still cool as far as we knew. When she came back we placed our order and I asked if they had hot tea. She said no, they only have two kinds of tea - one for $1.00 and one for $2.95. I asked her what kind of tea it was and at this point she became agitated. She raised her voice and started talking over me telling me there were two kinds of tea, one for $1 and one for $2.95. I couldn't get her to tell me what kind so I finally asked if it was Lipton's tea or what, and she said it was oolong. I said "perfect! We'll have some of that." She said, "for both of you?" We said yes, and she said it would be $2.95 each. We asked what the dollar one was, and somehow it was eventually decided we would each have the $1 tea. Still don't know the difference. She brought the tea with no issues. When she brought our appetizers she slammed the plates down in front of us and asked who gets the egg roll. We said either as we both ordered one and she straight up started yelling at us, "there's only one egg roll! Who gets it? Who gets it?!?!" We said we asked for two and she said, "I only heard one. You're going to have to wait." And slammed another plate down. She then took the other egg roll she had and brought it to the woman at the next table, who is apparently very well liked and known there, as the server was extremely friendly and pleasant to her. The woman said she didn't order an egg roll. So the server brought it back to us, kind of laughing, and said we could have hers. The rest of the time we were there she was overly sweet and friendly, but it was too late. We realized were working too hard to be extra nice and non-threatening to her in an attempt to diffuse whatever was going on, and that's not our responsibility as guests in a restaurant. We have both been servers and know exactly what it's like to be in her shoes, and there is absolutely no excuse to treat your customers that way. It's a shame, as there's an older man who works there who is wonderful and we'd like to keep supporting him, but we will not be back. I'm not interested in paying someone $30 to yell at me. Working in as many kitchens as I have I know it's very rare for anyone to actually spit in someone's food or mess with it in some way, but we really felt like it was a definite possibility as she was just so ugly to us for no reason. I don't think YOU shouldn't go because of our experience - but I hope they read this as we didn't even feel like we could complain with someone as volatile as she is. Those two employees were the only two we saw, so there was nobody else to complain to. She shouldn't be in the front of the house if she hates customers. Food is good, portions are not as generous as other Chinese restaurants where I have dined. Why so stingy with the white rice? The waitress 'yelled' at us 'no extra rice!' (table of 5, different homes) when we wanted to split our leftovers and add a small container of white rice-we had boxed up some leftover already. Language barrier? I'm sure they buy white rice by the truck load, small change to give a cup of rice away. REALLY?! Unpleasant customer experience was reflected in her tip.
