My last few experiences here was horrible. Unfortunately, the manager on duty was rude and had a problem with us complaining about how much grease was on the pizza. We was told that having pepperoni on pizza will have it dripping in oil. The manager wasn't aware that pizza is a favorite with my family and we try several different pizzeria locations. We usually don't have problems. I am not sure if it's new management or new ingredients. We will not be visiting this location again. read more

I would say this is one of the better fast-food pizza options in the area and definitely recommend checking it out for a quick bite. I stoped by today for the 1st time to order a pizza st Hungry Howies on Nova. I did so and then noticed just how nasty this place is. Zoom in on the photo of the register I took today. While they made my pizza I went to Publix to pick up something I could eat, as I had no plans to eat what I ordered. I further noticed everything in the restaurant was just as nasty. Pass this on to your friends so they are aware of just how lazy and disconcerning the manager and staff must be. This place should be closed. I do plan to send my photo to the City of Davie so the health department can see this for there selfs. I gave 3 homeless people the pizza and kinda feel bad about that. Stay clear! A lesser known player in the chain pizza restaurant battles. They don't advertise much - or at least I haven't heard any ads since the Detroit Pistons games in the 1980s. This place did flavored crust and dessert pizza before the other guys if i remember correctly, and they still do a pretty good job. As a former New Yorker, I hate to admit that my beloved Brooklyn pizza is not as good as Hungry Howies. I get the pizza at the Davie location about twice a month. Consistently the dough was perfectly done, not doughy like most other places around. Biggest selling point is that it's NOT GREASY! Great balance of flavors, believe me, it's hard to find pizza that hasn't been over doused in sauce and cheese and salt around these parts. Kudos to this branch, keep it good :) I have not ordered anything else from them. My review is solely of the pizza. read more

I have seen Hungry Howie's around for years but never tried it. I think the name always threw me. Recently, I was on the road working and it was around 2pm when I realized I had nothing to eat all day and didn't think I would survive through my 3pm appointment. I was to that point where my blood sugar was so low I needed something! While I was driving, I spotted Hungry Howie's and it was close to my appointment so I stopped in. The location was big and clean. I learned that you order at a counter and wait for your food. I asked the cashier what the fastest thing was to order and obviously it was a salad but I wanted something hot and satisfying. Since I worked in an Italian joint in high school/college I knew a pizza took about 12 minutes. I'd be cutting it close but they had a large cheese pie special for $5 bucks that day that I couldn't pass up. I also wanted to compare it to Little Caesars pizza (which is a great hangover cure). The pizza arrived pretty quickly and I devoured 2 slices like nobody's business! This pizza blew Caesars out of the water! From the flavorful sauce, stringy cheese, and delicious crust. I was hungry so my judgment could have been skewed but I took the remaining slices home and even reheated it was fantastic for inexpensive chain pizza! Perhaps I will try a sub next time but without a doubt, I will have that pizza again! read more

A friend of mine and I were only in town one night and without a car. We found Hungry Howie's on Yelp because they would deliver to our hotel, and the previous reviews were really good. We ordered online through Yelp, and the food arrived hot and in the amount of time they stated. I got a salad and the chicken strips; my friend got the boneless wings. I called to place an order for me and a coworker. I advised that the food would be going to the same address but I wanted to pay with 2 different credit cards. I was told okay, no problem. After waiting for 1 hr, I contacted them to see what time they will be coming. I was told that they are very busy and should be there within 20 minutes. It took 1hr 45 minutes for my food to arrive and know that I placed the order at 10:45 am. They charged coworker and I a delivery fee of $3 .00 ea. The food was taken to the same place. They could have advised that they were busy when they took the order and suggested a time frame at the time the order was placed.
