    Petite Prime Rib 8 Ounce

When you're craving some prime rib; there is only one place to come too...Hungry Hunter. From the seasoning crust to the perfectly medium rare serving, it doesn't get any better! I needed a prime rib fix tonight, so I came in and still the same great service and amazing prime rib.

We were on our way up to Northern California and decided to try Hungry Hunter Steakhouse. We had the angus burger, wings and fries and the food was really good.

7/29/26 Prime Rib Med-RARE ordered. I got an end -cut, well-done. Dry like jerky. House Cut at $44.49. Cheated me on a take-out.

This is the second time it's happened, I ask for House Cut 1-1/4 prime rib at medium-rare because I was told HH does not offer RARE. And I made it clear make sure it's NOT an end cut. Any chef would know an end cut cannot possibly be medium rare compared to a center cut. Twice it's happened, got an end cut that was well-done. I did take-out and did not want to make the drive back. But I have proof w pix. Manager(s) do better, train your cooks the difference in the cuts, it's not a rocket science. Not worth the 44.49 price. I am sooooo disappointed. Definitely earned the 1 star. 7/29/26

Came here recently after seeing their sign. Nostalgia beckons. I remember going to Hungry Hunter with the family when I was much younger. It was good food, food bread and I felt very grown up cutting into my own steak with the giant steak knife. Gone are the wagon wheels as decor these days and it felt much more upscale than what I remember. Wine list was quite respectable. Nothing exactly from the top shelf, but nothing from the bargain bin either. We opted for their "best in town" prime rib and they were flavorful and tender. Their table-side salad made me feel special. All the staff I encountered were all super friendly and very efficient. My water and beverage glasses were never dry.

Service here is really good and the wheel of salad or table side salad bar is a MUST!

The food was excellent and the customer service was fantastic. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. The restaurant was very minimalistic and tastefully decorated. We had the pleasure of having Seth as our server. He was very attentive and often came back to check up on us to see if we needed anything. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, a cup of clam chowder, and a prime rib. Everything was delicious and the prime rib was cooked to a perfect medium rare.

We always dine here for their prime ribs whenever we're in the area. The prime ribs were juicy and tender, didn't come with huge chunks of fat like many other places. It's perfectly cooked to the temperature we asked for. It came with soup or salad plus two sides. We asked for baked potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The vegetables were fresh and tasty. Wine options were good too; always ended up picking something from the manager's list. Service had been great when we dined here. Highly recommended if you're a fan of prime ribs - no doubt it's the best in town (not just saying it).

Nice restaurant, would be good for a date. Staff were friendly and service was quick. The food was delicious. My favorite is the prime rib, so tender and flavorful I didn't really touch the horse radish and other dip. The fruity blended cocktail: kiss on the lips (kiss my lips?) was refreshing. The bread was fresh and hot and that honey butter was delicious! It was sweet so I didn't want it before my meal. The kids corndog was fine the fresh grapes were good, the whiskey peppercorn steak was good too. The soup du jour was a minestrone and it was flavorful. The seasonal vegetables were boiled and the zucchini skin was a little bitter. The fried onion strings and green beans were good. Recommended!

We got a gift card for Christmas. The husband and I finally had a way overdue date night. We walked in on a Saturday evening, pretty busy, and we did not even have to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated. The girl that sat us was super friendly, our waiter was awesome, and the girl who brought our food was great and funny! I got the chicken breasts with mushroom sauce, baked potato, fried green beans and a salad. The hubs got a steak, onion rings, si gratin potatoes, and their clam chowder. We also tried their stuffed mushrooms for a starter and WOW, they were delicious. We love visiting locally owned businesses and we will be back. Thanks for the great service and food!

It's been 30+ years since I was at a Hungry Hunter in the Bay Area. Pass this place over the years and decided to give them a try, as my granddaughter wanted a loaded baked potato. We were seated right away and really dug the steakhouse vibe. Ordered the... well, smoked Old Fashioned. Great presentation and very tasty! Got the early dining prime rib, with a loaded baked potato, fried green beans and spinach salad. While the prime rib could have been warmer, all was great. Server really bowed down to my needy granddaughter with lots of cherries and Shirley Temples. Will be back!

We stopped by for lunch after getting gas from Costco. They had just opened, so we were seated right away. The hostess was friendly and the service throughout was great - our server was attentive and kept our waters topped off. My SO and I both ordered from the lunch menu. Prime Rib with salad, mashed potatoes, and au gratin. The sides were delicious - no complaints there! But the Prime Rib was a letdown - tough and lacking flavor. At over $30, we expected better. We ended up taking it home. Nice seating, good for groups, and plenty of parking. We'd come back for the sides and service - but probably skip the Prime Rib next time.

This steakhouse left me full, satisfied, and happy. Service was stellar from start to finish. We were consistently attended to and our server did an excellent job timing the courses. Dishes arrived promptly one after another. I found the entrées and salads to be well-executed, while the drinks were a bit weak and the sides unfortunately underwhelming. I came here to celebrate my birthday and was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary slice of chocolate cake. Each entrée came with a choice of soup or salad and two sides. Even though we arrived shortly after opening, they had already run out of clam chowder. Bread: served warm with sweetened, whipped butter. Very reminiscent of the Cheesecake Factory's beloved brown bread. Equally fresh, warm, and delicious. Kiss On The Lips: a frozen slushie made with peach, vodka, mango, and grenadine. It tasted like a peach ring candy. The mango flavor was faint and the alcohol was barely noticeable. Mini Babas: my favorite bite of the night. Four perfectly cooked medium-rare lamb medallions with smoky seasoning and creamy ranch dressing. No gaminess at all and the meat was naturally sweet and incredibly tender. Tableside Salad: served on a chilled plate with a great variety of fresh toppings including croutons, cucumbers, tomatoes, shredded cheese, pepperoncinis, chickpeas, and sunflower seeds. It was crisp, acidic, and balanced. Prime Rib: served with au jus and horseradish on the side. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and was tender, juicy, and evenly cooked. The au jus added a touch of saltiness, though it could have had a deeper beef flavor. The horseradish was very strong, practically overpowering. I chose onion rings and sweet potato fries for sides, but both were limp and lacking flavor. Whiskey Peppercorn Sauce: rich, savory, and full of umami. It leaned more toward a mushroomy flavor than peppery but paired wonderfully with the meat. New York Strip: juicy, meaty, and seasoned well. Also cooked to a perfect medium rare. So flavorful that no additional sauce was needed. Hungry Hunter Steakhouse truly shines with its proteins. The lamb was one of the best dishes I've ever had and is a must-try starter. The bread and salads were tasty and fresh, but the sides felt like basic, frozen afterthoughts. Still, this is a great spot to celebrate special occasions thanks to the excellent entrees and attentive service.

Back in the day this location was once called The Office, so when businessmen were having a drink after a long day, they could call home and say "Hey Honey, I'm gonna be a little late, I'm still at The Office," and they wouldn't be lying. There was no host stand, no greeting, and no indication of what we were supposed to do. I eventually asked the bartender about our reservation. He seemed mildly annoyed that I had interrupted whatever invisible task he was doing and told us we'd have to wait for the host. So we waited. And waited. Once seated, we ordered drinks and were served warm bread with butter knives. The problem? There was no butter. Instead, there were candles heating cups of drawn garlic butter that nobody explained. The waiter described it as a powerhouse flavor. Imagine garlic butter LaCroix. Technically present, but only as a rumor. The pacing of service was glacial. Not relaxed. Not upscale. Just slow. The entire evening felt like a social experiment where everyone involved was pretending to operate a fine dining restaurant while waiting to see if customers would notice. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, which were apparently a house favorite. I sincerely hope that's no longer true. The filling was confusing enough, but someone decided to glaze them with a sweet sauce that made the entire dish taste like a dare. We took a few bites and surrendered. Then came the steaks. My fiancée ordered the filet medium rare. It arrived with the texture of warm oatmeal and was drowning beneath balsamic reduction and Gorgonzola. The steak itself was so soft and underdone it resembled a pink marshmallow more than beef. My strip steak arrived covered in gravy. Not a sauce. Gravy. To complete the experience, we both ordered baked potatoes. Because surely nobody can mess up a baked potato. We were informed that bacon and sour cream would cost an additional $2. Nothing says "premium steakhouse" quite like nickel-and-diming toppings for a baked potato. By the end of the meal, we were struggling to identify a single redeeming part of the experience. The service was slow. The food was baffling. The atmosphere felt like everyone--staff and customers alike--was participating in the same awkward experiment. Horse in the Alley desperately wants to be a fine dining destination. Unfortunately, wanting and being are two very different things. ***Our server Samantha was very sweet and even comped the stuffed mushrooms. But this was easily the worst $200 I've ever spent.

When we walked in, one of the managers, Jacob, greeted and seated us, and he happened to be carrying a basket of those buttered rolls with that honey butter, to our table. My lady was definitely hangry, and I think he sensed it because he ensured we didn't have to wait to start eating. Jacob, thank you--I appreciated that more than you probably realized.. THE GRUB: Our first appetizer was the Rattlesnake Bites. They're fried balls filled with cheese and jalapeños. Flavor-wise, they were very tasty, but the texture just wasn't for me. I'd give them 2 out of 5 stars. The best way I can describe them is a ball of crispy crust filled with very soft, almost soupy cheese. Easy 5 out of 5 stars for the catfish plate. I ordered the full rack of ribs with loaded mashed potatoes, and we also got the loaded macaroni and cheese. Apparently, Texas Roadhouse really loves bacon and cheese... and so do I, so we were a perfect match! Everything was flavorful, comforting, and exactly what I was hoping for. 5/5 stars Our server, Daniel, was fantastic. He offered great suggestions, kept my drink filled without me ever having to ask, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. He played a big part in making our first California visit a great one. I also want to recognize Danette, who I believe was the general manager--or at least she carried herself like the person who keeps everything running. She was warm, funny, and genuinely cared about our experience. When she learned we weren't crazy about the Rattlesnake Bites, she immediately removed them from our bill and even gave us a complimentary appetizer for our next visit. That level of customer service says a lot about how they value their guests, and how she wanted our experience to be just right. Finally, a shout-out to Siera the bartender. She was incredibly sweet, and we really enjoyed chatting with her. Honestly, we almost wished we'd sat at the bar, she had been by her lonesome the hour and ten minutes we were there. As we were leaving, she reminded us that we could take some of those delicious rolls home. Since we had ordered a meal for our youngest--who isn't a fan of ribs or catfish--we were excited for her to try the rolls too. It was such a thoughtful ending to an already wonderful interaction. Texas Roadhouse atmosphere and food absolutely delivered. Great food, outstanding service, and a team that genuinely cares about its guests. This California location definitely lived up to the reputation I'd come to expect from Texas Roadhouse right here in Cali.. Texas Roadhouse for the win--5 out of 5 stars!

This is my go-to restaurant when I'm here in Bakersfield doing my regular visits to clients here…read more The first time I came here was with my wife and a friend and we loved their food here. They have a good variety of delicious food items. The place is interesting with nice good ambience. They play music a bit loud but I guess it's a right fit for their concept. The people working here are friendly and provide great service. Yesterday, Aug 5, I came to dine here again and I enjoyed their clam chowder and fettuccine alfredo with shrimps. Then I drove back to Los Angeles very satisfied. Halfway to LA, I realized I left my credit card at the restaurant. I called them and spoke to Fernando who confirmed to me they have my credit card. He said they will close at 9pm but someone will still be there if I make it before 9:30pm. I got back to the restaurant at 9:25 and true enough, Mykayla was there and handed my credit card back to me, though they are closed already. Thank you to Fernando and Mykayla for the great help to get me my card back. Thank you to the wonderful people who work here and the management who ensures the wonderful food, topnotch service and people who work here, like Fernando and Mykayla! I'm always going to dine here when I make my client rounds in Bakersfield and will surely make it a point to bring family and friends here when they are with me.

I had seen my bartender at THD and at both of my gyms and would've never imagined him to be so skillful in the mix. I was told he is so amazing to the point where he has people following him. I say this because the lovely couple I met today told me they met with LUIS a while ago and have kept in contact to the point they follow where he goes and this is them knowing him over YEARS and now he is here!!! I had no food just grown up juice. LUIS'S first drink served a punch only because my coworker asked for it before I got there, but even though it had a kick it was WHISKEY SOUR APPROVED! I did ask LUIS if he made his sours with egg white and he ran to the kithcen and made my drink the way I LOVE!!! Perfect drink perfect, perfect pour what more cane you aske for!!! Yes I did ask LUIS if I can record him and he gave his consent. Thank you Luis.

Service was fast, food was super yummy aside from the octopus i had which was chewy? Im not sure if octopus is normally that texture, i thought itd be more like calamari which i love. Desert was yum too. I got a free slice of flan but the their sparkler candle fizzled out before the end of the bday song which was a lil awkward lol Really cool vibe of this place, i sat on a really comfy sofa with pillows and my husband sat across from me in like a couch chair haha. Dim lighting for sure but I think it just adds to the ambiance. Also there was a cool looking bar. Maybe would go back on a weekend next time later in the evening to experience this place at its peak.

It was bright and citrusy with the sweetness of the mango to balance the flavors and a lovely creamy finish with the avocado. The jalapeños were perfect, just enough heat but not overpowering. I was very happy to pay only $10 for a glass of Justin Cabernet. They do not have an extensive wine list, but they do offer several tasty wines that will pair well with their menu items. No happy hour but they do have a daily special of a New York Steak with pasta and 2 drinks for $60. That's a pretty good deal as far as I'm concerned. Sadly they aren't open for lunches, although they open at 3:00 Saturdays & 2:00 Sundays. Plenty of TV's for those so inclined. Country music playing in the background. They also have a lovely patio. I'm definitely coming back to try their steaks soon. Definitely check them out!
