It comes with either the option of soup or salad so I chose a salad. It also comes with two sides, and I chose the rice, pilaf and steamed vegetables. Madison took my order over the phone. She is very friendly, helpful, patient and told me the order would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived at exactly 20 minutes and my order was ready. She brought the food out and quickly took my payment. Easy peasy transaction. The ribeye was perfectly grilled at medium rare. It is so tender, juicy and flavorful! Major kudos to the chef! The rice pilaf is to die for as well as the steamed vegetables. They went so well with the perfectly grilled ribeye. I definitely recommend, I will return and absolutely love my dinner! read more

Heidi Daniel's host from Michael David in Lodi. The brothers are the fifth generation to farm the land and make delicious wines. This is sustainable farming at its best. Their wines are Mostly Stainless steel fermented. Our Servers Kyle, Syaun & Seth were outstanding. The salmon confit was delicious but a tad too salty. The pork tenderloin with bacon jam was a big miss! The onions were just sweated with very minimal bacon. The polenta was thin & mushy sadly a disappointment. Usually the food is wonderful for these wine events. I don't know why things went awry today. But I have been to many of these events and will be back again. Everyone has the occasional hiccup. We came to Hungry Hunter Steakhouse for Father's Day and had a great experience overall. Since we had a party of six, I called ahead to make a reservation, and the process was quick and easy. When we arrived, we were seated promptly, which was especially appreciated on such a busy holiday. I ordered the lamb chops, and they were absolutely delicious. The accompanying sauce complemented the meat perfectly and was easily my favorite part of the meal. One of the restaurant's signature touches is preparing the house salad tableside, which adds a nice, classic steakhouse feel. My only wish is that the salad portions were a little more generous, as the serving felt on the smaller side. We also ordered the calamari appetizer, which unfortunately was the biggest disappointment of the meal. It lacked the flavor and texture we were expecting. The staff was friendly, but the service was a bit slow throughout our visit. The restaurant is conveniently located in the Costco shopping center, so there's plenty of parking available. Just be prepared for some traffic getting in and out of the shopping center, especially during peak dining hours. read more

This is the second time it's happened, I ask for House Cut 1-1/4 prime rib at medium-rare because I was told HH does not offer RARE. And I made it clear make sure it's NOT an end cut. Any chef would know an end cut cannot possibly be medium rare compared to a center cut. Twice it's happened, got an end cut that was well-done. I did take-out and did not want to make the drive back. But I have proof w pix. Manager(s) do better, train your cooks the difference in the cuts, it's not a rocket science. Not worth the 44.49 price. I am sooooo disappointed. Came here recently after seeing their sign. Nostalgia beckons. I remember going to Hungry Hunter with the family when I was much younger. It was good food, food bread and I felt very grown up cutting into my own steak with the giant steak knife. Gone are the wagon wheels as decor these days and it felt much more upscale than what I remember. Wine list was quite respectable. Nothing exactly from the top shelf, but nothing from the bargain bin either. We opted for their "best in town" prime rib and they were flavorful and tender. Not a great experience at all. The whole process took 2 hours with over an hour of it waiting for food.... They seemed to be busier than they could handle and the kitchen wasn't able to assist. I recommend not sitting on the patio or you will be forgotten. The waiter was very nice, but 15 minutes to get water, 45 for bread and over an hour plus for any food. We had to cancel our child's order and walk to Carl's Jr. to grab something because it took so long. Really wish I had something nice to say. Our friends got the prime rib and it was dry and tasteless not to mention like warm at best. I had the pecan chicken and had to scrape off the entire crust because it just didn't taste good at all. With really good service, a dining experience worthy for a special occasion and/or a good meal with family and friends. Most everything on the menu is done well. Sides are delicious and offer a good variety of options. Unfortunately, recent visits for their popular weekend Prime Rib Roast was delivered with a hint of disappointment. The quality of the beef was far below average. Even with rare cuts, the roast was tough and difficult to chew. We got a gift card for Christmas. The husband and I finally had a way overdue date night. We walked in on a Saturday evening, pretty busy, and we did not even have to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated. The girl that sat us was super friendly, our waiter was awesome, and the girl who brought our food was great and funny! I got the chicken breasts with mushroom sauce, baked potato, fried green beans and a salad. The hubs got a steak, onion rings, si gratin potatoes, and their clam chowder. It's been 30+ years since I was at a Hungry Hunter in the Bay Area. Pass this place over the years and decided to give them a try, as my granddaughter wanted a loaded baked potato. We were seated right away and really dug the steakhouse vibe. Ordered the... well, smoked Old Fashioned. Great presentation and very tasty! Got the early dining prime rib, with a loaded baked potato, fried green beans and spinach salad. While the prime rib could have been warmer, all was great. We went to Hungry Hunters last Saturday to celebrate my sister's and sons' birthdays, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The service left a lot to be desired, and the food was not what we expected. I specifically ordered the appetizer sampler, which features some of their favorites. The fried calamari was soggy, the stuffed mushrooms were extremely salty and surprisingly tiny, and the potato skins were just okay and arrived cold. Most of our party ordered steaks and specified exactly how they wanted them cooked. When the steaks arrived, however, they were brought to the wrong people, which was extremely frustrating. We hadn't been to Hungry Hunters in a long time, and after this visit, we unfortunately understand why. There was nothing particularly memorable or special about the experience. We were celebrating a special occasion, so we really hoped for better food and service. Overall, we left very disappointed and don't feel the experience was worth the price. read more

The hostess was friendly and the service throughout was great - our server was attentive and kept our waters topped off. My SO and I both ordered from the lunch menu. Prime Rib with salad, mashed potatoes, and au gratin. The sides were delicious - no complaints there! But the Prime Rib was a letdown - tough and lacking flavor. At over $30, we expected better. This steakhouse left me full, satisfied, and happy. Service was stellar from start to finish. We were consistently attended to and our server did an excellent job timing the courses. Dishes arrived promptly one after another. I found the entrées and salads to be well-executed, while the drinks were a bit weak and the sides unfortunately underwhelming. I came here to celebrate my birthday and was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary slice of chocolate cake. Each entrée came with a choice of soup or salad and two sides. Even though we arrived shortly after opening, they had already run out of clam chowder. Bread: served warm with sweetened, whipped butter. Very reminiscent of the Cheesecake Factory's beloved brown bread. Equally fresh, warm, and delicious. Kiss On The Lips: a frozen slushie made with peach, vodka, mango, and grenadine. It tasted like a peach ring candy. The mango flavor was faint and the alcohol was barely noticeable. Mini Babas: my favorite bite of the night. Four perfectly cooked medium-rare lamb medallions with smoky seasoning and creamy ranch dressing. No gaminess at all and the meat was naturally sweet and incredibly tender. Tableside Salad: served on a chilled plate with a great variety of fresh toppings including croutons, cucumbers, tomatoes, shredded cheese, pepperoncinis, chickpeas, and sunflower seeds. It was crisp, acidic, and balanced. Prime Rib: served with au jus and horseradish on the side. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and was tender, juicy, and evenly cooked. The au jus added a touch of saltiness, though it could have had a deeper beef flavor. The horseradish was very strong, practically overpowering. I chose onion rings and sweet potato fries for sides, but both were limp and lacking flavor. Whiskey Peppercorn Sauce: rich, savory, and full of umami. It leaned more toward a mushroomy flavor than peppery but paired wonderfully with the meat. New York Strip: juicy, meaty, and seasoned well. Also cooked to a perfect medium rare. So flavorful that no additional sauce was needed. Hungry Hunter Steakhouse truly shines with its proteins. The lamb was one of the best dishes I've ever had and is a must-try starter. The bread and salads were tasty and fresh, but the sides felt like basic, frozen afterthoughts. Great 1st time Happy Hour experience. Quiet bar where you can talk to your table mates. Friendly service from the staff. Good portions and excellent prices for happy hour. We had the calamari friti. Nice delicate meat with a crispy coating served with fried onions and bell peppers. Very tasty. Also had the crab stuffed mushrooms topped with cheese. Ended with the Hunter wings cooked crispy then drizzled with a slightly sweet pepper sauce. Dug in and finished before I thought to take a pic. We enjoyed everything and we will be returning. Great start. We ordered steaks with asparagus, and the food absolutely hit the spot. Tender, flavorful, cooked exactly right. But what really made the night memorable was our server, Angelis. She was an absolute pleasure--warm, upbeat, and genuinely positive in a way that lifted the whole experience. Ordered 20 oz prime rib and asked if they can sear it as I like that flavor, these waitress said yes and it would happen on the grill. It was done in a pan and was nasty, not sure what they did to it. My wife got the Chateau filet, medium. It came rare, mashed potatoes cold and the plate disgusting! On the drive home from Vegas we decided to stop mid way and looked up places to eat. Hungry Hunter stood out and had very high ratings and everyone spoke highly of their prime rib being the best in town. We eat a lot of steak and meats and we prefer our meats to be medium rare. We ordered 2 ribeye and one prime rib (all to be Medium rare). I don't know if they had a off day but both ribeye came well cooked and probably due to the thinness of the cuts they cooked quickly. Also the prime rib was a little dry and not medium rare too. I like looking at pictures and the ones online show a much more "medium rare" cuts. I was kind of disappointed but didn't want to send it back as my kids were all hangry after a 4 hour drive. Besides the meat not to our liking, the clam chowder was really salty so maybe skip and get a salad. The caesar salad was great (cant really mess up a salad), along with the fries, and au gratin potatoes as a our sides which came out piping hot and cheesy. We also got the brownie for dessert topped with vanilla ice-cream which was tasty. The service was great and the restaurant is very clean and spacious. But I think I'll pass next time if they cant make their steaks right for a steak place. read more

I inadvertently posted my review of HH and asked YELP to delete it (which they did--yay). I hadn't been to Hungry Hunter in years. To my pleasant surprise, things have been revamped, from the atmosphere to the quality of food. Our wait staff--Steve was amazing. Such a cordial and caring young man. My little niece loves her raw vegetables (What are the odds, right?) and so when she devoured her cherry tomatoes off of her salad plate, Steve went back to the kitchen (on his own) to get her more! I am not a big meat-eater but I still enjoyed everything. The shrimp cocktail is SO good! Top-notch in everything. It's no wonder this restaurant is always packed. read more

Hungry Hunters are still a thing? Seeing the sign from the road I made a hard right turn to make this my last second substitution for a family lunch spot. I really enjoyed the one near me (Ventura) but it closed many years ago so I couldn't miss my chance to eat here and take a trip down memory lane. We went in and were seated immediately in the beautiful and clean dining room. I ordered the Rib Eye while my kids ordered the Chicken Strips, Mac & Cheese and Sirloin Burger. We enjoyed all the food except the Mac & Cheese which seemed like the boxed brand. It should also be noted that the waitress "Mrs. Tudor" was very nice and pleasant. Also, she was honest as I accidentally tallied the tip incorrectly and added too much to the total, giving her a larger tip. Fantastic experience! They are dog Friendly on the patio to a fault, not only were they accommodating with water one of the managers (I assume) asked if our dog could have a bone from the kitchen.
