So I have had a gift certificate for a large pizza at Hunner's... we won it in a basket raffle at Designer purse Bingo for Communicycle. Hunner's is in Sturgeon...what? Turns out it is near Robinson Township. Quaint little area close to 576. Only thing I a, sorry about is we didn't go sooner! We ordered the free large pizza and drinks. This is the largest pizza I have ever seen or eaten! Check out the picture compared to the waitress hand. It was 20"! 16 cuts. It is one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. The sauce was perfect. Not spicy, just tomato tasting! The cheese...well it was the perfect mouth feel as it enveloped my mouth. I only ate 2 pieces there. My mind said more...just another, but my stomach said later. When we got it home we each had another slice! Can't wait to try a piece cold for breakfast! The waitress was so sweet! So attentive! Brought us extra napkins without us asking! Hunner's has other food besides pizza too. They have been there for 18 years! So they have all kinds of sandwiches and wraps and wings and soup and so much! They even have Chicken over Biscuits! Other than my mom and me, I have never seen them on a menu. And that was only $7.95. What a deal. Check out the pics of the menu. Oh and also the amazingly cute salt and pepper holder! Too cute! So creative! They should sell them! This is a great Saturday or Sunday afternoon ride for lunch if you are not off during the week. Great idea for supper too a day except Monday. What a hidden gem! Found this place by looking for a new pizza place to try. Everything was amazing. The small Stromboli was huge and was melt your in mouth good with their homemade dough. Same along with the pizza. The hamburgers were huge and tasty as well. Can't wait tot go back and try other items. The service was super friendly and quick. After stuffing yourself you are only a few steps away from the panhandle trail to walk it off. read more

Stopped for lunch with a friend. We were very hungry but needed extra time to decide. Waitress/help was very accommodating , even delivered our meals to the picnic table on the trail outside ! Food was excellent, service even better ! read more

Great place! I'm glad I tried Hunner's. I moved out this way the end of last year and have not eaten out often. My sister was flying in for a visit and I needed to find a good lunch spot for us to go. I saw Hunner's on Yelp and thought we'd give it a try. I'm so glad we did. For a small town, I will admit that this place is GREAT! This was my first time, I got their white pizza and breadsticks. I feel like most pizzas are rated by their crust and sauce. Unfortunately I havent tried the red/marinara sauce on their pizza since I had their white pizza but I plan to go back soon! Atleast for their crust, I will say it's been my favorite in a long time! Reminds me of a place in downtown Pittsburgh (Proper Pizza) - this place has amazing potential! My only complaint? I feel like the white pizza could have had more garlic but that's just my personal preference. Their breadsticks are actually cheesy breadsticks. They have amazing desserts and there's even a little ice cream area in there! My new favorite local spot. read more

Wow what a great discovery. We have passed Hunners in the Pan Handle bike trail a number of times and finally decided to try it out. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside was very bright and clean. We were immediately greeted by the young hostess who was also the cashier and server. She was incredibly upbeat and pleasant and made our experience very positive. The pizza was amazing. One of the best we have had throughout the Pittsburgh area. Warning that the large 12 count is huge!! The crust was amazing. While well cooked it also had a very soft texture . ( I usually leave the end crust behind but had to eat the entire slice as it was so good) they used very fresh toppings and the sauce was perfect. The menu has a very wide selection beyond pizza as well. The location of Hunners is a bit hidden away but well worth the drive and a great find. We will definitely be back again and will spread the news as well. read more

I just ordered some pizzas and breadsticks from here for a kids party and we all really enjoyed it! The menu offers a nice variety and huge options for a decent price compared to other places in the area. I think you really get a good bang for your buck. We had cheese and pepperoni,and both tasted great. The only bummer is if you want sides like ranch and garlic sauce you have to pay extra. Other than that, I look forward to trying other menu options here again in the future. read more

I stopped here with a group riding in the Panhandle Trail for some ice cream. They sell Perry's ice cream which is a brand I like. The price was reasonable especially considering the the generous size of a small. However, the ice cream I had was not fresh. It had the distinct taste of freezer burn. read more

My wife and I were staying in McDonald at an Airbnb rental and was looking for a special place to go for dinner. I had checked out a few restaurants online that were recommended to us, some high end restaurants and some middle of the road ones. They all had the same thing in common, they both had excellent reviews along with horrible reviews. So basically, it's the roll of the dice, depending on how the waitress or cook felt that day. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and then end up being disappointed. So getting tired of evaluating all these restaurants that seem to be hit or miss, plus the time to get there and back, I decided to see if there was anything close by. This place came up on the screen. What impressed me, was that every review posted was an excellent one, with the exception of one posting where he didn't even comment, just gave it one star. I have to say, all the reviews were on point. Excellent food, fast and very friendly service. It was an enjoyable experience. We were meeting another couple there. They had the pizza, which they loved. My wife and I had breaded mushrooms and pierogies for Appetizers, She also had a veggie wrap with provolone cheese, and I had baked fish, macaroni and cheese, and shrimp corn chowder. We both enjoyed everything, I especially liked how they prepare the baked fish. Sometimes baked fish can get soggy and mushy, but they had prepared it properly and It had a nice little crusty top to it. Was very delicious. The only negative thing, this is getting real picky, is that the place could use a little updating. But as far as I'm concerned, when you have good food, friendly staff, and at a fair price, I could care less if the seats have a little tape on it. The ice cream is really good also. I think anybody would be completely satisfied coming to this restaurant. I do a lot of work in Pittsburgh so when I'm in the McDonald area I'd like to stop back and try it again read more
