After purchasing nearly a 6lb rack of Dino bones yesterday I smoked them today. I've been smoking meat for 10 years and have never come across a worse cut of meat. Over 90% fat at over 10$ per lb, and I have to say they should be embarrassed by the product they are selling. Wanted BBQ . Decided to try this place because Goody Coles was closed due to renovations. Walked in handed a menu by gentleman at register. Ordered two 1/2 rack rib plates, one child dinner mac and cheese with hot dog and a pulled pork sandwich. They asked what kind of sauce we wanted with our food told them mild and hot. Paid 59.95 got our food, went home. Got home opened the dinners OMG! The ribs were DRY and BURNED seemed like they had been sitting in a oven, NOT IN a Smoker and just added liquid smoke . Looking for the MILD AND HOT BBQ SAUCE THERE WAS NONE!! Mashed potatoes had no taste a very small scoop. Beans were hard in a smoky liquid.. Cornbread was dry gave us NO BUTTER. Pulled pork sandwich was also dry..Child's meal the Hot Dog was over cooked and brown .. $60.00 Down the drain and the dinners went in the trash. Stay away from this place !! Overprices, oversmoked, overcooked, overly fatty! Won't waste my money here again!

We wanted BBQ and we were not disappointed. I got the pulled pork with medium sauce topped with apple coleslaw, a side of mac and cheese plus a piece of cornbread and a drink. The bun was crispy and toasted, the pulled pork was really good and the coleslaw was the best I may have ever had. The coleslaw had a hint of.cinnamon and bits of apple pieces. The mac and cheese was REALLY gooey and cheesy and delish! The cornbread was also REALLY good and buttery!!!! No complaints! Yum! My husband got the beef brisket (he asked for fatty pieces) with potato salad, cucumber salad, a piece of cornbread and a drink. Okay, I even liked the beef Brisket and I don't eat beef brisket. The potato salad was good but he said the cucumber salad was a bit too pickely (I don't like sweet pickles so I can't really give my opinion on this but it tasted like sweet pickles). There didn't seem to be any combination type plates and the meals came to about$50. Although a tad expensive for lunch the food was really really good so we will definitely be back! read more

I didn't think it was possible, but I've finally experienced bad BBQ. I'll start with the positives, though: baked beans were fabulous, studded with meat. Cornbread was good, gritty, and not too sweet. The smoked turkey and pulled pork were OK; but the real problem was the sauces. There were three: "Spicy," unlabeled, and "Ketchup." The unlabeled, my husband called "sweet" and I called "bizarre." I did not want a second taste of it to refine my opinion. The "Spicy" was tastier, but had no heat. I don't feel the need to review the ketchup. Potato salad was bland, just potatoes and mayo and a very few little crispy onion & celery bits. I asked for no fries with my sandwich, and I got fries. Granted, they were good fries. I just try to avoid fries, because I love them and can't resist them when they are in front of me. We were constantly annoyed by flies during our visit. Disappointed again. Overpriced BBQ. I went with my son the other night and decided to give this place another try. In the past I have found the food to be decent, but not worth the extraordinary price. Supposedly the meat quality is what makes this so expensive. I honestly couldn't taste that much of a difference. When you spend this much you would expect good service, good atmosphere and a bustling restaurant due to demand. That's not the case. I was again disappointed in the cost ($56 for just the two of us -included tax and 15% tip ). They offer a plate with 1-3 choices of meat and two sides reasonably priced in the 12-15 dollar range, but to get brisket added would cost an addition $8!! Absurd!! Not to mention, when we walked in around 5:30 on a weekday night there were no customers or workers present. After waiting for a few minutes two employees, one man and one woman straggled from the back room. These are not the owners who I have met before (very nice people, by the way). From the waft of cigarette smoke that trailed in behind them it's safe to assume they were taking a smoke break. This didn't help any nor did their rude behavior when I was trying to figure out how much money I was about to drop. When I asked about the additional $16 required to add brisket to my son's plate and mine the women barked, "I don't set the prices!" We ended up getting the sampler for two and two drinks. The portions were ridiculously small and the food was good but not great. DO NOT GO HERE! GO TO GOODY COLES DOWN THE STREET if you expect reasonable prices and generous portions. read more

My husband and I decided to stop in for the first time to check it out. We didn't sit and eat but will try that another day. We wanted some steak tips. The nice Man said he had one left but would gladly whip us up some more. We just took the one package of Kobe beef tips and smoked wings. I also have a 'hobby' of collecting great bbq sauces, rubs etc. I was working in the area and passed by Huntspoint around lunch time and decided to stop in. I chatted with the owner who was running the register while his wife ran the kitchen. Their children were playing in the dining area (which according to previous reviews must be new) so the two of them appear to be doing double duty tending to their children and running a business (more than most people could do) all the while being EXTREMELY patient, helpful, informative, and dead on accurate with their knowledge and suggestions. NOW... this all having been said, on to the experience. I believe in paying for service and quality. I asked for suggestions on my order for lunch and he recommended the kobe pulled brisket. His suggestion was to 'put sausage on it and it will be the best sandwich youve ever had'. I got a drink and my total was around $18. Seems a lot right?... I felt i may have been duped as i sat down to eat?... I like sauce so i added some 'victory lane' that was at the table. Then i tried it. It was in fact the best bbq sandwich ive ever had. If i have ever had a better sandwich of any variety i dont recall it. Now he had my attention. After my sandwich i returned to make some sauce/rub purchases. The owner asked my tastes a matched me with 6 options in sauce meticulously explaining the origin, style, and flavor of each. I started collecting them on the counter as he explained them and he and his wife fed me samples of each. Of the 6 options i bought 5, as well as 2 rubs. $65. Sauce at Market Basket is $1-$4 and i struggle paying $4 at the grocery. I happily paid $65 for these. 4 stars are ONLY because this was at the top of 'my opinion' of reasonably priced. Customer eperience, quality, knowledge, and trust in the seller all played a part in my willingness to spend my hard earned money here. If you're looking for a cheap decent bbq sandwich, go to Wendy's when they have it. If you'relooking for an EXCELLENT quality meal at a 'typical sit down restaurant price', try Huntspoint. This was my first visit and got 2 takeout meat plates. We liked the pulled pork, brisket and ribs. The sides of corn bread, baked beans, and apple coleslaw were good. We both thought the mac and cheese was ok. The couple running the place was very nice. The price is a little high but you get a lot. I got 2 meals out if just my meat plate. Tried this establishment very recently and it's the real deal food is homemade and very delicious and filling. It has a decent area inside which is ample. The only poor point which is keeping us from giving it 5 stars is trying to swipe off a few flys while trying to eat. Just a suggestion try installing a fly trap fixture. Absolute worst customer service. My sister and law and I bought meat here and we were informed of the wrong price. They made us feel bad for not wanting to buy it so we did. We came back to return it because my brother in law was irate about the price and when we went to talked to them they gave us the absolute worst hard time , they told us never to come back. read more

Got a sampler platter for two . It was ok . The sausages and brisket were good . Ribs weren't great . Everything was a little dry . Got Mac n cheese and chili for sides , both just ok . Saw on phantom gourmet , but was a little disappointed . I would go again if i was in the mood for bbq, but maybe try different sides. read more

Very disappointed, while the burnt ends exceeded my expectations, the rest of the meal was a let down. The pulled pork, chicken and brisket were as dry as the Sahara, the sauces only made the meat worse (had to go back in as they forgot them.) Tried the cucumber salad. This pulled pork sandwich changed my life. Don't be fooled by the location of this small butcher shop/counter service joint. It may look unassuming from the front in the small plaza it's hidden in, but give this place a chance because you won't regret it. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich because my husband had been in the week before and called me just to tell me that he had just eaten the best sandwich of his life. I love to cook and pride myself on being a great chef, so I had to go in and taste this for myself. I talked with the owner for a bit while she was preparing my sandwich, and she was lovely to talk to. She explained that they were preparing to expand the place into the next shop over to also add some seating to the place (the only current problem- no where to sit). Everything was made to order. She pulled smoked pork out, and added BBQ sauce, my choice of hot or mild (I chose mild). she then piled it high on a fresh roll. The best part? She took a bit of coleslaw and added freshly cut apples to it. It wasn't mayonnaise-y at all, it was perfect. That was added to the top. This was a large sandwich for about $6. I left, and ate my sandwich on my way to work. I had to pull over it was so good. Then I proceeded to call my husband and tell him he was right, and this was indeed better than any pulled pork i have ever made. Let me just say we have had lots if bbq and this place was the worst. We went based on the Phantom Gourmet saying how wonderful it was. Well the food is bad we will never visit again. They reheat the ribs. I actually saw the woman cutting the plastic wrap and taking the ribs out after heating. There was no chat to the meat and they were tough. I stopped in for a takeout order on a whim. I have tried all the other BBQ places in the area and this is by far the best place to get BBQ. I got an order of ribs and a chicken. Now, why a 3 star review. It starts with 30 minutes to get food. One person at the counter, one in the kitchen. They need to hire an extra hand. The place was empty and it took 30 minutes. This place. This BBQ. Superior to any BBQ I've ever had. All their meats are so well cared for during the entire smoking and cooking process. The Wagu brisket had that perfect fat to meat ratio and the flavor will knock your socks off. Pork ribs where the smoke permeated all the way through. Pulled pork was to die for. The sides are all homemade with so much love. The dining area is open with simple picnic tables lined with handcrafted sauces. All of which are so delicious, however you won't need them....don't cover up the high quality of the meats or the flavor within. You can tell that these folks know exactly what their doing. The owners are quirky, which is charming... The quirky hours are not charming. I like supporting establishments like this, but far too many times I have stopped by during what should be business hours to find a handwritten note or a closed locked door. Yes, the first time I ate there I asked for their hours and they pretty much warned me that they open whenever they feel like it. I just had not expected that to be quite so literally true. Some of the menu items are great, some not so much. Showed up at 12:00 sharp on a Thursday and they still weren't open even though their hours list opening at 11:30. That was frustrating after taking a 30 minute drive to get there. Came back a half hour later and finally open. Sign says free BBQ samples but wasn't offered any sample. The guy and his wife are friendly and he seems really knowledgeable, but I don't know how much experience in the restaurant business they have. A little slow processing orders, seems like his specialty is just straight up barbecuing and selling competition-grade meat. The brisket was phenomenal, 5-star worthy, and makes Goody Cole's brisket seem average. It is tough, Goody Cole's has better prices and better service, but Huntspoint's food is a cut above. This is my new favorite BBQ place! We went early on a weekday afternoon for dinner (5:00) and there was no one else there. The food was delicious. By far the best beef brisket I have ever had - I don't know how they keep it so moist! The pulled pork was a little salty for me and had a little bit of a kick - good but not what I was looking for in pulled pork. I like to put the sauce on myself. The sides were amazing! Usually potato salad is bland. There is something in their potato salad that gives it a little twist and it is sooo good! Mac n cheese was delicious and the apple coleslaw was delicious as well. The quickest way to get me to not return to your business is to seem mad or annoyed that I'm giving you my business to begin with. I've lived here nearly 4 years and have only ever tried Goody Coles in the area. I've been past Huntspoint many times so I decided to give it a shot. Whoever took my order of the phone was pleasant but when I entered 20 minutes later I was greeted by anything but! The woman at the register was unremarkably miserable and seemed annoyed at the fact I even walked through the door. I don't think I could've paid her to crack a smile. While customer service isn't everything, it's SOMETHING. Next time I'll just continue down the road to Goody Coles where every time no matter how busy they are I'm greeted while a smile and a friendly "Hello!". My wife and I hit the road again today hoping to find a good barbecue venue after both of us spent an hour or better reviewing the local restaurants on Yelp and Google. Our choices were closed on Mondays so we decided on Huntspoint BBQ a 25 minute drive from our house. When arriving the woman at the counter never looked up while we searched through the menu board asking questions concerning various potential selections. She was looking at a computer [for some time] and could care less that we were even there. We both ordered two meat plates consisting of ribs and pulled pork. The pulled pork was difficult to pull apart and tasteless. The ribs also had little or no taste. My wife chose apple cole slaw and potato salad as her two sides and I went with smoked beans and chili. The pork ribs were tough and tasteless, hardly any meat on any of them. The smoked beans were very good as well as the chili but the cole slaw and potato salad were definitely the wrong choice, both poor recipes. They offer three sauces which we had difficulty deciding which one we liked the best, and probably the best part of the meal. Besides our two sides we were given a slice of corn bread that was warm and crumbly and very good. With another well known BBQ restaurant down the street and others in the area, we will never return. read more

When I walked into the restaurant i was greeted with smiling faces and the owners/employees are very knowledgable of their product.
