They were trying to seat people, took to go orders and phone orders so I understand the wait. It was extremely cold in the waiting area, almost as cold as it was outside. I've had this place 3 times because I keep hoping it'll get better and every time I've had it, it's been bad. The first time I went, I got the pho and the noodles were overcooked and so soft and mushy. The second time I had it, I ordered them from DoorDash and the egg rolls were not good at all. I ordered other things that day, but I don't remember much about them because they weren't memorable and they weren't tasty. I like this place. Parking is convenient. It's relatively clean. Orders come out fast. And food has always been good. I really enjoy getting Bun Bo Hui here, they give plenty of meat and pork blood, just the way I like it! The soup base is very flavorful. One of the best Vietnamese Restaurants In Richmond CA. Despite how packed the restaurant was, the service was extremely amazing and quick. Ordered some of the most popular food items on the menu and they didn't disappoint at all. Crispy fried shrimp and the garlic chicken wings are great appetizers to order for the table. Food was decent but the service was so slow. We came for lunch on Saturday and was seated immediately. Took a bit to order and get our food. We got a bowl of pho and bun bo hue. Usually the order comes out together but the pho came out faster than the BBH. Nothing too special about the pho but the BBH had a very strong shrimp paste flavor. Could be a hit or miss depending on personal preference. We finished our meal and tried flagging down an employee to get the check several times. We made eye contact and they acknowledged us but we were still left waiting for 10 or 15mins. I overheard another table complaining as well. During my experience at Huong Tra me n my girlfriend ordered a pho plate each, spring rolls, and a thai iced tea. Half way through eating my girlfriend notices a small roach looking insect. He then said i would have to speak with the manager in the front at the cashier. I walk up to her at the cashier and i tried to get a refund n they tried to do the same thing only discounting the one pho it was in and as i spoke to the manager showing her pictures she tried explaining to me that the OWNER said we can only do a refund on the one it was in and i told her i didnt even get to finish my food because i was worried there was more and then she tried to talk to him again n she came back saying i can just charge you for the spring rolls n thai iced tea and discount the 2 pho's. Finding a roach in food is unacceptable, and the way it was handled was even worse it felt like they were trying to negotiate with me instead of taking responsibility. A crusty baguette with small pieces of chicken inbetween, a sliver of cucumber and a few strings of carrot and daikon. The chicken was not flavored well, there was no pate, no sauce- just a sad sandwich. Spring rolls came with three pieces, each stuffed with 1.5 pieces of shrimp. Also, lackluster and sad. Dear the owner, This old lady chased me two times (harassing) me as if I didn't pay my bill. This is embarrassing and her behavior is not acceptable. This will be my last time going there. I notice that this place has a lot of Mexican and black customers. I want to make sure these customers never ever get chase them or experience the same situation like I had. Overall, the pho was good but a few of the staff members have attitude issues. For example, body language or the way they carried themselves have shown to me that they lack customer service skill and don't know how to interact with customers. I wish you could've train your staff to be more respectful and not giving that attitude or behavior towards customers as if they didn't feel welcome. I understand that working as server provides good customer service but not all customers has the attitude. Moving forward, I hope this won't ever happen again. Sadly, I've only been to this place four times and I must say the pho was extremely good except customer services needs more training. I am here mainly to post about #5 Banh Xeo - Vietnamese Crispy Pork & Shrimp Pancake. It is a jumbled mass of ingredients that comes together as a masterpiece but also makes you wonder "how in the world can someone eat this elegantly?" It starts with a wonderfully crispy and oily crepe shaped-chip filled with shrimp and bean sprouts with pork embedded into the crepe. I don't really know how to describe or eat this thing. But we cut it up, placed it into a giant romaine lettuce leaf, topped it off with thai basil, mint, and pickled veggies. Then we dunked it into fish sauce, unhinged our jaws, and took a bite. It's like Willy Wonka's everything in one bite - crispy, crunchy, fresh herbs + all the stuff that is already going on in the fish sauce. If you like lettuce wraps, this is lettuce wraps into the multiverse. Everything else we ordered was good including a combo rice plate and pho. I thought the banh mi was really good - fresh toasty bread, delicious pork - but it didn't have any jalapenos, so you might have to ask for that. Last thing to note is that the store went away from having all the utensils on a "grab what you need" basis. My partner decided to venture off the menu and ordered their well done brisket pho. She fed me her left overs the night of my surgery and I was in heaven. I've had pho from many different places, but this one hunnay, best I've everrrrr had. I loved it so much that I've had it every single day since the surgery. Well, almost every day... I was crushed on Sunday because they were closed, literally almost in tears. I didn't want anything else. I resorted to asking my mom to drop off some traditional comfort filipino soup.
