terrible food, terrible music (the owner deejays from his phone) and expensive. only giving two stars because they replaced my first meal. i ordered the cajun pasta, disgusting. hard noodles, too spicy and an excessive amount of parmesan cheese. all you taste is spice and parmesan cheese. i replaced it with a fried red snapper that was overcooked with no seasoning. rice had a nasty after taste like it was spoiled. i had serval complaints, was told by the server that he would speak to the owner, the owner never stopped by to check on my table. no one cared. it was business as usual for them. i will never eat here again and i advise others to steer clear. go where you're appreciated. read more

I popped into Hurricane Harry's for Mother's Day dinner and unfortunately ended up walking right back out. I was genuinely excited to support the restaurant as someone of Jamaican descent, especially seeing a Jamaican spot on the Nautical Mile. The music and atmosphere initially drew me in and the vibe seemed lively and fun. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and I chose to sit outside. Before seating myself, I specifically checked with a server to make sure outdoor seating was okay. She let me know it was, but mentioned it might be a few minutes before someone could assist me, which I completely understood given that it was a holiday. The issue was that no one ever came back. After waiting for quite some time, I eventually went back inside myself trying to find another server or anyone who could help, but there was no one available. Meanwhile, not only did my party leave, but I also noticed two other groups leave as well and head to nearby restaurants on the Mile. I understand holidays can get busy, but customer service and acknowledgment still matter. Even a quick check in, update, or apology would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, the lack of attention made it feel like only already seated and actively served tables mattered while potential customers were overlooked entirely. It was disappointing because I truly wanted to support the business and give them a fair try. Hopefully this was just a rough holiday service issue and not the standard experience, but management definitely needs to tighten up communication and floor service because losing multiple parties in one afternoon is never a good sign. read more

My boy was hosting a party so the vibe was pretty good, but terrible service and incredibly deceptive pricing killed it. My wife and I waited nearly 30 minutes at the understaffed outside bar before moving inside. We ordered just two basic tequila seltzers and an order of fries, and the bill came out to over $65. ‍ ​When I requested an itemized receipt, I found out the small drinks were $22 each , and they had snuck in a "convenience fee" and an automatic 18% gratuity without showing it on the main bill. We even witnessed another customer disputing their hidden fees. Sneaking charges onto the bill hoping customers won't notice is a horrible business practice. Waited about an hour and a half for our food to be served for only one meal to be ready and waited another 20 minutes for the second plate to get there. Believe all the bad reviews I wish I would've listened and not gone. The DJ only played each song for about 30 seconds before transitioning into the next song. Despite the bad reviews this was really good. It did take our drinks a while. However, everything else was smooth sailing. I came here for Fourth of July. The music and food were great!! My drink could've bit more stronger. This was nice chill vibes and we were able to get views of fireworks. We sat outside and had the specials of the day lamb chops and whole lobster. The lamb was so tender and potatoes were nice a buttery. They even had an outdoor bar. This strip on Nautical Mile had many restaurants to choose from. We chose here because of the vibes. read more

I did not enjoy my food here. I'm sorry. I hate bad reviews but someone's gotta tell it. Well let me tell it. I went as a third wheel with my good friend and her husband. They were already seated outside when I arrived as parking is complicated if you do not have actual coins and you cannot pay with card. Anyway I ordered a rum punch and a lobster. The lobster came stuffed so I asked for it plain and was told I could get it (not stuffed). We also Had calamari. The damn lobster came stuffed. I was like... Huh. My friend and her husband later commented when I was eating it- didn't you say not stuffed. I just shook my head like -don't. The shrimp they stuffed it with was not cooked to my liking, and the way the food took a year to come would have made you think why wasn't my shrimp grilled longer? I know her husband got jerk chicken spring rolls which were huge. He kept that as a meal. I'm not 100% sure what my friend got. We had about 5 drinks between us. Long Island iced teas and beers. My rum punch was made with extra ray and nephews as I only had 1 drink and was like no more for me. It was STRONG. The Henny Collada was a no- we switched for something else. The vibes were good the food was a NO for me. They bouncers are funny when you walk in and out waitress did a decent job. When the app comes out after your meal is served it's poor customer service. I would understand if it was busy. For a holiday weekend it wasn't . $60 for two drinks. All frozen food items like fish And french fries (chips), fried shrimp and chicken tenders hd no taste. Very low quality. Not even the tartar sauce could have saved the fry shrimp or fried fish. Hubby and I stopped by Hurricane Harry's on a Friday and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We were sat out in the patio immediately and could choose where we wanted to sit. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. It was our first time here and I was surprised that the drinks were actually strong. I had a Mai Tai and a margarita, they were both refreshing. Food was good as well. I had the Cajun shrimp and chicken pasta which came out flavored well and hot. Hubby had stuffed salmon and said it was great as well. I opted for a cheaper tequila of Don Julio. I was never told it would be an additional $6, plus a $4.52 gratuity on ONE drink. Regrettably just wasted my time at this establishment. Waited nearly 30 minutes and had to ask about our drinks 3x. Utensils weren't placed on the table and when they finally came around to give condiments there were a few plastic forks in the carousel with the ketchup.. Hostess was God awful and the food was just as awful as the service received or lack there of. Ordered jerk chicken and asked the hostess what type of meat is served. White or dark? she couldn't answer. I assumed she didn't understand what I was asking. Perhaps maybe a language barrier and so I asked if it was white meat in Spanish. She still didn't understand my question. I left it alone and continued with my order. She was completely clueless the entire time and couldnt answer any questions regarding the menu. Food came and the rice is definitely boxed. There's no way they considered this meal Jamaican jerk chicken. The meal was insulting and I left my plate nearly untouched. Fries were bland. From freezer to fryer and the burger was unseasoned. They just slapped the patty on the grill and served on a bun. Meal was reminiscent to school lunch. My drink was garbage too. We passed by this place on the way to our original destination (Otto's - don't go there by the way) and we noticed the new raw bar with their incredibly fairly priced oysters and clams on the half shell ($13 per dozen clams, $15 per dozen oysters)! We decided come back here to try it out, and got some beers while we were at it. They had Budweiser, Stella Artois, and Shock Top on tap, all fairly priced at around $5. I also had a Midori Melon Ball with Grey Goose and that came out to $12 for a very strong summer drink. The guy shucking the oysters and clams was right there on the deck, so it was really nice to see how fresh they were. They came with cocktail sauce and lemons, but I asked for some horseradish and they were even better. They offer little neck clams, top neck clams, and cherrystones. We got some top necks and cherries, and they were super fresh and juicy! I didn't get a chance to ask where the oysters were from, but they were huge and delicious. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive overall, and came back frequently to check on us. There was also a (little too loud?) live band playing some classic rock songs on the deck by the water too. We didn't try anything other than the raw bar, but for these prices and how fresh they were, it's definitely one spot to check out! read more

Ummmmm....How do I say this. It's Labor day and the band is poppin....really....then after waiting a VERY LONG TIME for service I ordered a rum punch. It came w/o rum, the bar said they filled it with rum BUT NO after everyone in my party tasted the drink, the consensus was NO RUM. The bar suggested I pay for an extra shot and after a brief negotiation gave me one for free. I ordered a calamari appetizer and almost an hour later it appeared. Fortunately the food was very good. Steak sandwich was just that no onions, no seasoning just bland steak. They tried with the jerk chicken but I'm sure the Jamaican spot down the road would've been a better option. I wanted to give this establishment a more stars....I really did. Like always, I base my criteria on ambiance, food, and service. The ambiance is actually what drew my friends and I in to the bar. The music was pumping -- 5 stars for the DJ taking requests all night. It looks like a typical tiki bar. Lots of seating outdoors. A few tables inside. Right on the water. The service is so. Damn. Slow. The entire time we were there, there might have been max 20 patrons. The server Dana was very nice and accommodating. However, since when did it take 20 minutes to receive drinks? In an emptyish bar at that?! My friends ordered a beer and fruit punch. I ordered a $15 whiskey sour, which in my opinion, wasn't worth it. There was a gentleman there who waited over 45 minutes to be served. SERVED. He placed his order before we didand the kitchen lost his ticket. The kitchen took forever with our order as well, it took us about 45 minutes to receive our food but we ordered way more than he did. Minus 1.5 stars. The food....was abominable. They get a half star back for presentation. I have never, in all my years, tasted such garbage. The wings and calamari lacked seasoning. The Philly egg rolls and mozzarella sticks were super greasy. The only good tasting thing we ordered was the jerk chicken sliders. The rolls weren't the freshest but the taste was great. This is a Caribbean restaurant --or at least this was how it was portrayed. Nonetheless, isn't the Caribbean a place where spices abound? Didn't Christopher Columbus sail the ocean blue and pillage foreign lands for the love of spice? Why can't the kitchen seem to use things like salt and pepper? I can't give half stars, so they get the 1 star. When we asked to speak to a manager, they sent us the cook. ‍ He took the wings and calamari off the bill but they should've comped the whole thing IMHO. Beggars can't be choosers though. First time here because it's on my 'black owned' bucket list. A beautiful Wednesday evening in August to dine for seafood by the water. Our intentions were to feast, but we couldn't get past 3 bites. I ordered drinks, a fried shrimp platter. My date ordered a shrimp dinner not worth mentioning. I hesitated to write a review, but I just had to because the FOOD was horrible and disappointing. If I could give it a zero I would. Though the drinks [in plastic cups] were ok, the service/waitress [Ashley? little spanish looking girl] was very fast, pleasant and attentive, the FOOD was beyond disappointing. I didn't get half way through my meal because it was that bad. The shrimp was fried in overused oil, dark brown and overcooked - inedible... again, not worth mentioning. The fact that they served it, is most disturbing. When we received the bill [for 2], they had the nerve to pre-charge an 18% tip. I was going to complain about the food and the pre-charge tip, but I decided that a better response was to NEVER dine there again. Kicked off Memorial Day wknd by strolling the Mile and decided on this place because of live band about to start and nice outdoor deck. Drinks were reasonably priced, with lots of froufrou tropical options. Band plays every Friday and songs cater to an older crowd - lots of beach-weathered folks dancing! fun atmosphere. FOOD: we only wanted snacks and got the mussels in white wine/butter / garlic sauce. HOLY COW! I'm very picky about my mussels and was amazed how good they were here! Also ordered the mozzarella garlic bread - nice big portion of Italian bread soaked in garlic butter and oozing with melted mozzarella and grated parm. Again, very pleasantly surprised at how good it was! We would come back here again to eat and try other menu items... price was quite reasonable. SERVICE: it is my wish for you, oh Yelpers, that you go when the owner is NOT there. That woman is so miserable, unhappy, unsocial and gives dirty looks/doesn't want to take your order that I was shocked to find out she IS the owner! I'm a regular here, let me school you a bit. First off, this is a bar that serves food. It's not for kids. General rule of thumb, don't bring your kids to a bar (people will judge you!) The food here is great! I'm a baked clam purist and believe they should be whole with some seasoned breadcrumbs, baked to perfection when the breadcrumbs start to get a nice brown color, yet inside is still succulent a little juicy. Harry's baked clams are the best I've ever eaten at a restaurant (my mom's homemade are a little better, not by much though!) I've had the mussels in red and white sauce. They were cooked perfectly, the broth was good, and the portion generous. I'm also a fan of the chicken fingers, wings and shrimp parm. The night life thrives in summer and winter. Friday nights at Harry's are an institution. And the staff is awesome! read more
