So we try to go every time we're here in Myrtle Beach. We usually just stick to the daiquiris, but this time we got lunch as well. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! This is a drinks review only as we came after already eating brunch, so we didn't sample the food. I had fun at hurricanes! The vibe is very beachy, and I love their selection of frozen summer drinks. I tried the watermelon one which was refreshing, and my boyfriend got the mudslide which tasted just like dessert! Both are relatively inexpensive for the size of drinks that you get. It's a great spot to hang out with friends and have some drinks. Even though you sit at tables, there is no wait staff which means you have to order all of your drinks for yourself at the bar & bring them back to your table with you. I pull up Yelp to try and decide on a place. As expected in a tourist place, there are lots of 3 and 3 1/2 star places. However, one 4 star stood out, Hurricanes, so decided to take the leap. Hurricanes is a bar with primarily frozen daiquiris. You walk in and there are several spinning daiquiri machines with multiple flavors to choice from. I personally love these places from my trips to Bourbon Street (NO) and the historic district in Savannah. They do have bottle beer and a small selection of draft beer on tap as well. I got the fried pickles as an appetizer and fried fish & shrimp basket for the entree. The pickles will easily support a table of four. I was with my wife and we could not eat them all. That said, the pickles came out hot and were damn good. The fried shrimp and fish basket was very good. The fries that came with it are obviously frozen crinkle cut and just okay. Now on to the frozen daiquiris. I got the Hurricane (large of course, 20oz I believe). Not the best frozen Hurricane I have had. This is just 3 stars. Not bad, not great, just okay. Such a cute concept, it's a huge slushy bar but they're all alcoholic (though there are virgin dacquiris, most people aren't coming for those, y'know ;p). The whole place is like an oasis, just a brief reprieve from the beating, baking sun. Hard not to feel like a kid in. acandy store, or like the grownup version of 7/11 on the hottest day in August when you and your friends are just mad the school year has started again. I can't remember what dacquiris we all got as each was a combination of a few, but they were incredible. The staff is super helpful and explains what combinations might be good and which of the dacquiris are going to be the strongest. The amazing thing too, you can just tale them to go and walk around with them, though the mirror house won't let you bring them in (unfortunately but understandably). Though we didn't have food, the dacquiris are enough of a reason to visit on your next trip to Myrtle Beach. read more

We love coming here for the mozzarella sticks. Idk how they bread them, but they're so delicious. The line was super long for drinks when we got there. I love the fact that all the daiquiris can be made virgin, but the downside is they only come in one size for non alcoholic. I ordered the sampler platter and you get so much food. I do think there were too many fried pickles though. Our server was super friendly! It did take a while for us to get our food when we only ordered apps and 1 kids meal.
