The Texas Torpedo was excellent. The potato salad might as well have been called mashed potatoes since it was so smooth and not chunky. The BBQ is delicious! We ordered the El Jefe and it was plenty for my husband and I and our 2 year old and we had leftovera. The mac and cheese is bomb! Service was great. The Birria tacos were huge, stuffed with tons of meat and cheese, so large I only ate one of the two I ordered along with the Mexican street corn. It was plenty of food! Came here for lunch and I'm sorry to say I was disappointed.I got the sliced brisket sandwich combo with fries.First off it's a little pricey.Basically it was 18.00.For that price it better melt in your mouth and unfortunately it didn't.When it came out it looked good and the bun was nice and toasted.My first bite i thought it was pretty good but as i kept eating it the brisket was a little dry and not as tender as it should have been.I just kept finding myself chewing it like a cow.I was just expecting better for how much it was.Just not that great for the price.Now it wasn't horrible but it wasn't fantastic.On a positive note that the fries were pretty tasty and seasoned well.I would be on the fence on coming back here.Maybe I'll try something different next time but i usually judge a place on how good the brisket is and this place didn't cut it. read more

I had to wait another 20 minutes only to learn that they combined orders after they were very specifically placed. Me and my family came for Father's Day. Overall, I would say the barbecue is good. There were a few One offs. The restaurant could have a better air conditioning system. when we arrived there was a line and it was moving at a fairly moderate to slow pace. We got a platter of barbecue that had turkey sausage, pulled pork brisket ribs we also got a brisket taco like birria tacos and this wrapped jalapeno popper and cornbread. The best part of the meat were the ribs. The ribs were on point the brisket lacked in flavor the sides we got the macaroni and cheese and cabbage, and they were just OK. The cornbread is really good. Went here before work to try them out because someone brought some to work and it looked good. I ordered a 2 meat plate that came with 2 sides. I ordered pulled pork and lean brisket for the meat and cabbage and loaded mashed potatoes for the sides. It also comes with pickled onions and sweet pickles. The brisket had a nice smoke ring on it but didn't have much taste at all. The pulled pork was super fatty which I am not a fan of. It had better flavor than the brisket though. The sides were good. All of that for $26. Would I go back? No, there are two many bbq joints to go back to a mediocre one that I would rate the same as a chain bbq restaurant. Let's start with the place. Simple and clean. The Texas vs Clemson game was play which was a plus. The beer was cold, small selection. The 6666 Pilsner is good. Service was on point after you order. Had been to this place when it was Big D's BBQ. Sorry it didn't make it but this place was amazing. All BBQ is expensive first off. My hubby and I shared a 3 meat plate and our two sides were Mexican corn and French fries. The hot link was a bit spicy for me and it was hard to cut into pieces so one of the tines on my plastic fork broke when trying to cut it and we didn't bring the rest of that home. I love the sausage at Soulman's better where they have a jalapeño sausage and a regular non-spicy sausage. Hurtado's brisket and pulled pork were amazing and both sides were so delicious! Was given BBQ sauce and it was good but not as good as Soulman's BBQ sauces where there's a choice of mild and spicy. I forgot what my son and daughter-in-law ordered but my daughter-in-law had the mashed potatoes with everything but they were too dense and not creamy. So she didn't finish them. My son's side was the hatch Mac and cheese and it was really tasty and not spicy! Yay! The pickles and marinated red onions were a nice touch. Will be back there one day soon! read more

So happy we tried this place! Ordered ahead online, this was our first time to ever eat here. Sent my son to go pick up the order, he came home and instantly realized his brisket baked potato had no meat, no brisket. The remainder of the order was perfect. I was beginning to doubt we'd use Hurtado again. But, I called up and explained what happened, the staff handed the call over to Lonnie, a manager. Lonnie was very understanding, respectful and worked with our individual situation to completely correct the situation. I really appreciated her professionalism and her great attitude, she took full responsibility over her staff's mix up. We were able to come up with a plan for me to head back up there for them to make the order right. When I arrived Lonnie was anticipating my arrival, so she greeted me and got right on the correction of the order. To my surprise she also had refunded the mistake. So, not only did they fix the issue they took it a step further to correct and gave us a refund. This is how establishments earn and keep customers. She was great and I made sure to tell her how great her customer service was! We will for sure be back and not just for the wonderful customer service, but the delicious food!! So, now to the food, the meat portions on their chopped brisket and pulled pork sandwiches is hearty, hefty and delicious! Moist meat, delicious buns and served with BBQ sauce. The brisket potato was huge and when corrected had a great deal of meat. We got tater tot casserole as a side and it was amazing!! I wasn't sure what to expect, but it superseded my expectations and was so yummy! Prior to coming I had read up on reviews and came across one that mentioned not enough BBQ sauce, so I instructed my son he had to ask for BBQ sauce with our to go pick up order. We had plenty of BBQ sauce and then some since they had already given a good amount with the order before he asked for it. We had more than enough and of course used it since it was delicious too! It was all served warm and tender! We look forward to going back and are pleased to have a BBQ place so close by since Mansfield doesn't have good BBQ... unfortunately there are only chains, which are no good and one other which is more Mexican food and less BBQ, and what BBQ we are their was dry and we weren't impressed when we tried them. Visited Hurtados in Mansfield for the first time Sunday night to pick up a side of Mac and cheese as a side for some wings and ribs I smoked. I live about 3 minutes away from this location and have been wanting to try it as my colleagues always rave on and on about the brisket, turkey, & ribs. Walked in at 8:30pm, though they close at 9 (sorry to be that person, I needed a side). I was greeted by an AMAZING staff.. As someone who worked in the service/restaurant industry through highschool and college, I know the feeling of a long shift and having guests roll in last minute.. Apparently these folks at Hurtados Mansfield do not know that feeling.. INCREDIBLE customer service by Ty and Christian (manager?) I walked in and was immediately greeted and welcomed with great attitudes. Since I was there - I figured I would try something new and requested both the quail and barbacoa taco. I guess they are both Incredible because both were sold out completely for the day. I told Ty the only time I have had Hurtados Is at the ballpark, and not at any actual location. He went on to tell me about how the quail and barbacoa will be back next weekend and Invited me to stop on by - which I will be. He then told me I had to have the brisket with their bbq sauce - and he hooked It up with 2 slices of some of the most juicy, tender, and flavorful brisket I've ever ever had. I loved the amount of pepper on the bark. Outstanding flavors.. As mentioned, I live up the road but rarely ever eat out at BBQ spots because I love to sit around my pit and smoke my own meats. With summer being here, and the 100+ degree heat just around the corner - I am happy to know I can trust these folks with providing great BBQ on those miserable days when I dont want to be outside near fire. Ty - thank you for the great service you provided at the end of a shift. Your attitude is something you can't teach someone. I ordered the Texas Trinity bbq plate. This consisted of brisket, sausage and ribs. The plate also came with a side and I ordered the brisket beans. The brisket was 8/10 with good tenderness and light bark and good seasoning. The ribs were 7/10 with ok flavor, tender and kinda dry. The sausage is a 2/10 and should be taken off the menu immediately as it is an atrocity to serve grocery store style sausage at a legit bbq place. This is of the Eckrich sausage quality sliced leaving the sausage whole to make it fancier than what it really is. I bought a sticker for our cooler, but debating whether or not to put this on. Every legit bbq joint in Texas has their own homemade smoked sausage made in house. The service was fast, and the restaurant was clean. I didn't realize this was also not the original restaurant. It also gave me the Dickeys restaurant vibes with the industrial style electric pit behind the counter. If you don't see, smoke, it's questionable. Especially after if just smoked my own brisket over the weekend. I had read so many good reviews about this place on Facebook Texas BBQ, and see and taste for myself. The birria taco at first I was unsure at first it was good but I'm use to to meat being marinated in birria sauce but after my second bite in the smoky flavored meat dipping in in the birria sauce was just bomb definitely fits the Tex-mex food 9/10 I didn't know if they had salsa for the taco but would have wanted just to make it hotter still fire. I have heard about this BBQ spot for some time on the radio, so I decided to break down and try it. Was I disappointed, not really, is it as great as the radio hype, eh.... not as good as I'd hoped based on the hype. Don't get me wrong, it was good, it definitely has a different taste than your normal southern smoked meats and sides. Mexique, as they advertise, is definitely a very different taste. The smoking is the same, but the seasonings are what's different. Now, I'll say I mostly noticed this in the sides more than the meat. I had the sliced brisket in sandwich form. Now, let's get into that.... The sandwich was good. The meat was smokey and had a good seasoning on it, tho not overpowering. I feel they rely on the bbq sauce to add more of the flavor. The bbq sauce is good, not spicy, not for me anyway, it was heavy on the molasses giving it that sweet, thick flavor, not that thin, sweeter taste of sugar based sauce. It was good, not my favorite by far, tho. The sandwich, tho it was on a combo special, really had very little meat on it. The combo costs $16.99 for the sandwich , one side, and a drink. Not a bad deal, but the portions are WAY LESS than other locations with the same combo for the same cost. That was very disappointing. The sliced brisket was a little less the 3/8 inch thick and was cut into 2 inch sections, and there was only 4 of those 2 inch pieces on the sandwich. It barely peaked out of the bun. I literally had to lift the bun to see if it was even there. Considering I can spend the same amount at other locations like Hard 8 and get more than a mere sampling of meat, meat that's piled up and actually lifts the bun up enough to see the piled up meat, I'd rather spend the money at the other locations. It was a sad sandwich to say the least. The sides I had was the Street Corn and I ordered a side of the Brisket Beans. The Street Corn is very creamy, thick in some form of sauce. I was unable to place the odd flavor in it, very earthy and grainy with a slight bit of sweetness. Reminded me a lot of cumin, paprika, and chili powder seasoning or something along those lines. Maybe even dash of curry with a splash of powdered sugar. Slightly sweet corn, obviously grilled or charred on a grill, with an odd twist of seasonings. It was good, not at first what I'd expected, but it grew on me. The Brisket Beans are like Ranch Beans with a smokey flavor to it, to an over bearing smoke, not overly seasoned, tho I did notice it doesn't have bbq sauce mixed in like other bbq beans do. The brisket in it was soft and had some large chunks. I didn't notice that it really added to the flavor other than adding some fat juices to it, yet the brisket did add to the chunkiness and overall enjoyment of it. Inside this location, it was smallish. They do have a bar area, but during lunch on Tuesday there wan't a soul manning it. They serve beer, I saw the bottles in a cooler, not sure how to get it since no one is at the bar. Lots of tables and chairs, and some booths. There isn't a cushioned chair to be had, so if you have a bad back, brink a pillow to sit on. When you enter, you go to the window to order, you don't sit and order and wait. You order at the window and pay, and this is one part that really drives me nuts, being this..... you have to stand in line to order, get your own drink, get your own utensils, get your own accessories and items, they do bring the food, but when you pay, they want a TIP up front!!! Three instant options that starts at 15% and goes to 25%, to do no more than their job that you are already paying for then bringing you the food on a metal tray, and then they have absolutely NO OTHER INTERACTION after that!! Tips should be based on service, not automatic, and they shouldn't be before service is even rendered! It really turns me off to locations that do this. It's basically a fast food environment, but they want to treat it like it's a sit down service location, which make no mistake, it absolutely IS NOT a sit down and order establishment. The food was good, not stellar, If I return it'll be to try new options for the flavoring, especially the many side items, but it won't be a place I make a conscious effort to go back to. read more

Never been to the Arlington location so I tried this one out. We got a hamburger, a tacos tater casserole and elote. It looks nice inside and the workers were nice. The burger was absolutely amazing, maybe in my top 10. The elote was some of the best I ever had. The taco tasted really good and I loved the tater casserole.
