I bought the large special wonton soup to-go. In the cup, there was plenty of wontons but close to nothing of the added chicken/beef strips that you might expect when you buy a special wonton soup. The pho here is delicious! Great for this cold that we have coming in and also great for when you and your coworkers are craving it and don't have the time to leave. I recently started coming here bc they give you extra soup when you sub out the egg roll on the lunch special. Well the gentleman that took my order today wasn't too happy about that when I requested it. He informed me they only give out extra egg rolls not soup. Well that's how it's been since I've been coming here so I expect that every time. He said they would only do it this time and that was it. He was very rude for the remainder of the transaction. I was stuck at home studying and desperately craved good Chinese food. I liked that I could go right online to a very user friendly website, order, complete and inclusive of paying with tip. My food arrived within a reasonable time. I got the combination fired rice in which the variety of meat was plentiful. I also got the general tso's chicken that allowed me to select my spice temperature. I liked that. I also got some of the special wanton soup which had chicken and shrimp. Worst Chinese I have ever had...I order Singapore rice noodles...there were two pieces of meat in the dish. when I called to tell them the manager hung up on me..and there I noticed the piece of beef that I found was large and appeared to be coated with either cornstarch or baking powder...The noodles were also bland..should have had a curry flavor....I called back and spoke to someone else and they said there dishes are prepared earlier in the day in bulk and that they can't guarantee the amount of meat as they cook it earlier and then just reheat it when it is ordered. read more

Tasty and reliable Chinese food...it's better than the other delivery-type places I've tried in the area. The food is good and hot and well packaged. There's a good variety. Edit: To clarify, they serve American-style Chinese food, so of course, a lot of it is kind of "junk," but it's better what some places offer. I order some food from there and it was awful the chicken was old the combination rice has no vegetables in it, only chicken the entree had three shrimp in the entire dish when I call and made a complaint the manager holds me that I should've eaten there and he felt he didn't need to replace the food not would be give me a refund, very poor service. read more

I eat Chinese often, once a week at minimum, and this place has been among the best, consistently, for years now. Shrimp and lobster sauce and pepper beef are our go-tos, and they're wonderful. The appetizers -- egg roll, shrimp toast -- are very, very good. Egg drop soup among the best I have ever had, and same for the combo fried rice. I have always found the service at sit-down just fine, and the delivery fast, efficient, and never missing a thing. I ate at this place when it's was Fu's and had a Rice Village location, I've had all the Asian food in the area -- Happy Lamp, Jimmy Wok, and a dozen in-between -- and Hu's is all around best. read more

Rounding up from a 2.5 only because it was quick delivery, but honestly should just rate them as a 2. Food arrived 10 minutes before quote time. However, they should have taken that time to make sure the order was correct and put in utensils. I spent the extra dollar for brown rice, and received white rice. Did not receive fork or chopsticks either. Kung Pao was good but the Pho was mediocre. Broth was ok but the beef was like eating leather; will not reorder it again. Will just stick to Chinese because the Vietnamese is just subpar. I'll also remember not to pay extra for albino brown rice. I didn't even get a chance to check my order before the delivery guy ran away. He was 3/4s the way down the hallway when I opened the bag to him yelling back, your drink is in the bag. My girl friend and I went Hu's Garden at noon with the Groupon we bought ($25 Value for Four People). When we showed then the Groupon, the waiter told us we cannot use it because we have to be four people and order at least two Entrees. I said this requirement does not show on the term. But the waiter told they just changed the policy so you just cannot use it. This is really irritating and does not make any sense. That's it? No, not really. When I told them that we will just cancel the Groupon and about to leave. To my surprise, the waiter talked to another waiter in Chinese, these two SB (In English: these two Morons). I think the waiter did not expect we can speak Chinese and I almost have a fight with him. Anyway, if you go there, they may also curse you with dirty languages. Do not order here again!! Your wasting your time and money. I placed an order online and it took over two hours for them to deliver. I called and told the restaurant to cancel my order after waiting for about an hour and half. Instead the owner tried convincing me that there was something wrong with the computer and the delivery was on its way. I called back after another 30 minutes and guess what, my phone was sent directly to their voicemail. It was impossible to get a hold of anyone at the restaurant after the first call. The husband and I were really excited to try this place. We had a menu left on our door about a week ago and when I saw pho on it, I was thrilled! The husband loves Chinese and I'm a pho lover. We ordered two orders of the beef pho (the fact that it's beef pho and not pho tai should have been my first warning)... The broth was literally black.... Don't even know what to say about that. The beef was already cooked and the whole thing was bad. The chicken wings and the dumplings were pretty good and the fried rice was okay. All in all, stay away from the pho. I had my hopes up about this place. We only order from this other Chinese place in the area on Thu- Sat because the owner is there and the food is really awesome . But today is Sunday and we looked for an alternative. I remember eating here twenty years ago when Meyer park was on the upswing; my family sharing really awesome chinese food on the lazy susans. This evening e ordered the chicken low mein and the shredded Hunan pork (extra spicy we told them). The first thing I thought when my wife brought home the takeout was how big the low mein. It was filled to the brim with noodles. The shredded pork, on the other hand, was quite small. My wife made the comment that it was the size of a small to-go container of something that you just couldn't finish at the restaurant. It really was around 2/3 the size of what we are used to. The type of noodle of the low mein reminded me of grocery store spaghetti and there were hardly any veggies and a scant portion of meat. The meat had the velvety tenderness typical of a Chinese restaurant, which was good, but something anyone that knows how to velvet with cornstarch or worse with a little baking soda and meat can do that. They did make the shredded pork somewhat spicy with many minced peppers cooked into the dish (not whole dried chilli pods which some restaurants mistakenly think makes a dish spicy) which i really liked. The base sauce was reminiscent of the McdDonald's hot and sour sauce one dips their nuggets in it seriously had that nasty syrupy taste. After eating here 20 years later i ask myself was it a misconception of baseless childhood nostalgia that I turned to this place or has it gone downhill since then or maybe I am just spoiled by good Chinese food out there today. read more

Great family restaurant for generous portions of tasty Chinese food. The restaurant is attractively decorated in the style of older Chinese restaurants in Houston. The atmosphere is quiet so it's a great place for a delicious meal and conversation. Most of it's business seems to be take out so there is no problem being seated promptly and waited on. We've been coming here for years and have always had a great meal. I especially like the Moo Shu Chicken with Crepes. Don't forget the plum sauce.
