I was driving through Murrieta, CA and a coffee roaster appeared on my map. I was running low on beans at home, so I left a message for the owner to find out if he had beans available. Jason called me a few days later to tell me he was going to be roasting some fresh beans. Unfortunately, I was no longer in the area, but the cost for two bags of beans and shipping was reasonable. He roasts single origins from Columbia, Chiapas and Peru and also does a blend of the 3. Jason was super nice & explained that they air roast vs. drum roast which gives the coffee a cleaner, less bitter taste. I went with the blend since he was roasting it that evening on a Monday. I gave him my shipping info on Tuesday afternoon & to my shock, I received them the following morning. Love the packaging! I ground the beans and prepared them as a drip with my Moccamaster and as a pour over. The flavor was crisp and clean with low acidity. There was a little bitterness followed by a sweet lingering mouthfeel. I still like my beans from Big Island Coffee because I like a darker roast, but I give props to Hush Coffee. I also have a new grinder and am still making adjustments to the grind. For the price point and easy drinkability, I would recommend supporting this local roaster and buying his coffee. It would be especially nice if he is able to open a brick and mortar which he is hoping to do. Also glad he changed the name from what is appearing on my maps to Hush. read more

Went in today based on all the great reviews because I appreciate great coffee. Super long line, probably took 20 mins to order; I'm okay with that though. I will wait for greatness. I've come here a few times so far whenever I'm in the area and have yet to be disappointed. It's been pretty packed each time but the overall wait time considering the volume of people and each person usually ordering multiple items is not bad. I really appreciate how fresh everything tastes. The lattes do not taste fake or chemical and have just the right amount of light sweetness and the toasts are amazing. Ok, have been in love with this roasters beans for years and so ecstatic about the opening of the Hush shop! I'm over the top in love with how much thought and love went into the concept from the bible scripture on the wall responsible for the name to the inspirational music softly playing in the background as well as the impeccably clean eating area. The menu is yummy AND healthy; no bad ingredients like seed oils found here! I had the sweet and salty ricotta toast and hubby gobbled down a sandwich piled high with in house fluffy shaved ham on artisan sourdough. Delicious! And I have to say the chocolate chip cookies were the best I've ever had! Staff is very warm, friendly and accommodating too! Go, I highly recommend it but don't eat all the cookies, leave one for me! read more
