I couldn't be happier!!! Our furnace and heat pump finally crapped out, leaving us with just electrical heat in the winter. Ouch!!! ($$$) I put out a call on Yelp, and within minutes got a ping from Scott. EXTREMELY responsive, both for the inspection and for the actual install. The installers were professional, no F bombs every third word like some clowns. Put down floor coverings to protect the floors and were careful to clean up afterwards. And the guys, even when alone, were happy to talk glowingly about their mom and pops company. That tells me a lot. I even got some good "on your feet all day" boot recommendations from Scott! The equipment works like a charm. Much better than my 23 year old furnace/heat pump combo on its final legs. While there are folks that are a bit cheaper with crap-quality equipment, you get what you pay for. The overall value was with these guys, and it was an easy choice. Very happy with the service that I received from HVAC Direct Heating & Cooling. While attempting to install our smart thermostat, something went awry and I came home to a hot house and a partner trying to fix the AC. After a few attempts I got some quotes via yelp for HVAC servicing and these guys were prompt and responsive. I chatted with the owner via the quote service before calling the 24 hour line to be connected with a HVAC repairman. From initial call to arrival took about 1 hour even though it was late on a Friday night. The repairman was very knowledgeable and quick to identify our issues and solve them in a very professional and amicable manor. I found HVAC Direct Heating and Cooling through a yelp request I submitted for regular maintenance and a cost estimate for a new unit (ours is approaching the end of its life). My initial request was sent to 3 or 4 different companies. It included a special price for maintenance which typically costs between 120 and 150 depending on who does it and what is done. The special was offered by a different company. I didn't realize my message would be passed along to other companies, but Scott was gracious enough to match the special price and complete my estimate for a new unit. Matt and Scott arrived near the beginning of my 4 hour window (receptionist said they would call when on their way, which they did), which was a nice change compared to companies that show up at the very end of the time window or even later. Scott was very knowledgeable, honest, and patient. I asked lots of questions about the state of our current unit, how much longer it might last, and his recommendations on a new unit. I asked about installing a whole house dehumidifier and he flat out said "I wouldn't, you'd be throwing your money away". The unit themselves cost at least 2k before installation (I sort of knew this from watching this old house episodes) and installation would be even more. Instead of padding his estimate/pockets, he steered me away from a very expensive upgrade and towards the smaller, less expensive portable units that he wouldn't sell me. He also discouraged buying an oversized unit in a useless attempt to pushing more air to our second floor. Again, I already knew this from this old house, but it shows his honesty to his customers- not installing a bigger unit at a higher price to line his pockets while not solving the customer's problem/concern. I can't yet comment on his price quote for the new unit, but if it is competitive with other companies, I'd gladly pick Scott and his team. read more

My heat went out the morning of a snow storm when the roads were very icy. Several other companies in the area said they wouldn't drive in the conditions but Scott and Matt from HVAC Direct were more than willing to come out.
