With the company I usually call on for duct service this specific service is an add-on fee to cleaning my entire house ducts which wasn't what I wanted as it isn't time to do the entire house yet. What a shame. I searched for a company to offer a price quote for this alacarte service. A number of them said the usual "we need to come out and blah blah blah" it's a dryer duct. What are we doing? I didn't like that. I found Air Doctor and read their Information. I contacted them. They replied quickly with detailed information supporting their price quote. See? Easy peasy. That level of transparency and clarity pre-establishes a small level of trust before anyone shows up. The team arrived on time, assessed my dryer and duct situation, and guess what? THERE WAS AN ISSUE. The team took my husband to the crawl space to show him the issue that existed prior to their arrival, presented a plan to remedy it with the inclusion of the time it would take and the price. Remember when I outlined the initial price quote phase and how I chose this company based on the trust they've pre-established prior to the day of service? On the day of service that paid off. Expensive but worth it for new "to code" duct replacement under and existing home…read more I got my tenant in a 1980s house a new dryer and the installer said that it looked like the existing flexible ducting needed replacing. He was correct. For a 20 foot or so run under a home you want rigid piping as it is far safer, more efficient for the dryer, kinder on your power bill and up to code. Also easier to clean in future. Clogged ducting is a fire danger of course and our old flexible ducting had been installed poorly with it being jammed between a joist and wall and constricted in diameter by half. A fire hazard that required a new cutout behind the dryer for proper installation of a rigid downpipe. Jeff came out on a Sunday and did the inspection and installation in two hours or so. Very pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable. I'm sure you can find cheaper but not sure you will find better. I didn't bother with a second quote based on the reviews here. Note in one of the photos you can se the old ducting laying on the ground below the new rigid ducting. Jeff installed a new exit door to make future cleaning easier. I'll be using Jeff at our three rentals in future for cleaning.

He did a thorough job, was very professional and apologized that the work had not been done. I was home the day the work was originally to be completed and when I left for an appointment, I had someone at my home to let them in. I'm grateful the work got done today. Moses was respectful of my home, he wore shoe covers, and as I mentioned kept me informed of everything he was doing. I asked him to put a vent cover on so the birds will not go in the vent, and paid him to do that.
