I ordinarily stay at Hampton Inns, but there was a shortage of last-minute double/queen beds in the Schaumburg area so we ended up here instead. All I can say is "eh." Wifi means slow connections and "free" in this case means extra slow. The connections to the TV were a nice touch; you can bring a DVD player and skip the pay-per-view altogether. The downsides were primarily in the details, a vague sort of cheapness that I can't really describe. We saw ants and a hint of dirt/grime/mold in the corners of the bathroom, and the toilet didn't flush properly. Just, eh. It looks better on the outside than your typical $100/night place (that wasn't a conference rate, but what rather we got from the website,) but for someone from my part of the country it was just on the wrong side of "ripoff." Having said that, the pool, fitness area, continental breakfast, and parking area are totally adequate. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights while in town for school. We both agreed that we will not be staying here again. Prior to checking in, I had two requests: an early check in and to have a room away from the elevators. Although I was able to check in early as requested through the Hyatt app, the room we had was directly across from the elevator. Pros: Free parking and complimentary breakfast from 7AM-10 AM which was convenient Cons: We found a used bar soap and wrapper in the shower on the day we checked in, the WiFi was spotty and not reliable, the water pressure was not strong at all, there was an annoying high pitched buzzing sound coming from the charging stand at the bedside when you plugged something in, and the bathroom was so tiny that it was difficult to close the door when you were in there due to its close proximity to the toilet. In addition, the walls were super thin so we heard everything throughout the night. At one point, we both had to use ear plugs just to get a good nights rest. Our main issue was with housekeeping. They were very inconsistent with cleaning our room at a timely fashion. On the first day, my boyfriend dropped me off at school early in the morning while he went shopping. He came back to our room at 4 PM only to find that it was still not clean. He called the front desk to inquire about our room and someone at the front desk told him that housekeeping had until 5:30 PM to clean the room. We both felt that it was ridiculous and unrealistic that they have until later in the afternoon to clean the room. Considering that it was already 4 PM, and my boyfriend was back from running errands, there was no point to have them come by. So instead, he requested fresh towels. My boyfriend brought it up to the manager that next AM and she apologized for the inconvenience and told him to call the front desk to let them know when we leave so that housekeeping knows when to come by to clean the room. The next two days, housekeeping came and cleaned the room either later in the morning around 11 AM or early afternoon around 1-2 PM. The times were very unpredictable. Then, on the day we were suppose to check out, housekeeping wakes us up around 8 AM by knocking on our door to see when she can clean the room. It was very surprising how the day we were suppose to check out is the day that they actually came early to clean. Overall, we were not happy with this hotel. Customer service was very inconsistent as well. There were days that the people at the front desk and housekeeping would not even glance in our direction when we walked by. On the last day we checked out, no one was even at the front desk to even bring up our concerns while staying here. So instead, I used the express check out I received via email because I did not want to waste my time anymore with this hotel. Although this place was cheaper than other hotels in the area, it is definitely not worth staying at. read more

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt in Hoffman Estates. The staff members were always friendly, welcoming and helpful. Additionally the hotel always had a very fresh and clean feel; we felt really confident about staying there knowing that the staff was meticulous about keeping the lobby, the rooms and the remaining areas very fresh and clean everyday. We enjoyed the breakfast everyday -it was always fresh with a nice variety. When visiting the area again, we wouldn't stay anywhere else but the Hyatt at Hoffman Estates. read more

Horror At The Hyatt Place(Hoffman) I should start by saying that this is the first review ive ever written about any business...EVER! Its been about 2 & a half years since ive been to this particular Hyatt place and even though I just confirmed it today, it was clear that this location was under new management. In a nostalgic mind frame I remember pleasantly being greeted the moment I stepped through the sliding doors. That was then, this is now.....Upon arrival there was no attendant present even though the lobby seemed to be very busy (Good thing my girlfriend already checked in before me) . It was fairly early in the evening so I wasn't trying to call it a night, I just wanted to relax on the couch and kick my feet up for a minute but before sitting down I noticed what seemed to be a huge dry blood stain on both the arm rest and couch cushion! (Not like I could get a new couch right?) So I went to the bathroom to grab a towel that was neatly folded and seemed to be clean until I actually unfolded it! Yup you guessed it....random stains on their supposed clean towels. I called downstairs and no one answered so I ended up using a blanket to cover the couch before I sat down. At this point all I wanted to do was watch the basketball game... Shouldve been as easy as turning on the tv and changing the channel to TNT right??? WRONG! Upon turning on the tv I was met with a no signal prompt, this continued for 10 minutes until we actually got service and picture but no sound. Feeling defeated I pulled my laptop out of my bag to connect to the internet in order to watch the game but of course in order to get a half way decent signal I had to walk around the room with my phone and laptop in hand searching for a sweet spot. Needless to say I didn't get to watch the game and at this point I just wanted to go to sleep. Noticing that the room was a bit toasty I tried to turn the AC on which again should have been a simple task right?? WRONG AGAIN!! Now im a college educated individual who has worked for a billion dollar telecom company, been a project assistant/brand ambassador for Nike and handled data analytics for PeaPod/ItemMaster...ive never felt so silly in my life trying to turn on an AC. Beyond frustrated and embarrassed I called the front desk for assistance. Call 1 no answer, Call 2 no answer, baffled by the fact that no one was there was no at guest services to answer the phone I decided to get out my phone to video record the next 3 phone calls I made to the front desk in attempt to get some assistance(It should be noted that there is no answering machine so the phone continuously rings until you hang up and call again)... After seven minutes someone finally answered the phone. On the phone was a gentleman who seemed to be completely exhausted and out of breath, "Guest services can I help you?" Annoyed at the fact that I had to call 5 times before I got a reply I asked why the delay. He then informed me that he was the only individual staffed at night and that there was a multitude of things he had to take care of before answering the phones. Who take care of the guest then I asked, he replied by saying "Its only me here and I answered when I could, is there something I could help you with" Not trying to give him a hard time because he clearly has no control on being staffed alone at night to manage 6 floors I went ahead and asked him for help with the AC. I was told that in order for me to be able to use the AC I had to go to the window a flip a room switch under the AC, flip a light switch located next to the AC then turn on the thermostat to get cool air. Now I can talk about the fact that their plates and cups switched from nice glassware to cheap plastic plates and plastic cups that I had to search through to at least find one that didnt look like someone had just eaten off of it or drank out of it right before me or that in order to use the bathroom in peace I had to walk into the bathroom stand behind the toilet and then close the door or walk into the shower in order to close the door but honestly this story will never end. I give this hotel 1 star solely because of an individual named Tammy that I came to with my questions and concerns at the front desk during breakfast. She was pleasant and genuinely seemed concerned about my grievances and even attempted to rectify some things even though I told her that I wasn't coming to her with complaints in order to get anything complimentary I was just there for information about the clear and apparent changes that has completely downgraded this location. Do I even have to say if I would stay here again or not??... I think this post answers that question. read more

The staff at this Hyatt really sealed the deal for the 5 stars. The rooms are lovely, the breakfast decent, cute lobby - but the staff. The hotel was busy. There was at least one wedding and several business travelers but the staff still took the time to make sure our stay was fantastic. There was no task too big or too small for the front desk staff to assist with. I highly recommend this hotel for just about anyone who needs a comfortable place to stay. read more

place is fine and probably due for a renovation in a few years. the one thing that bothered me was the high pitch sound when someone adjacent to my room was taking a shower. you hear the own sound when you take a shower yourself. they do not replace towels which may be a brand standard, im sure they would if you asked they do not dispose of ice buckets that are full of melted ice/water, again could be a brand thing again. they also dont replace used cups either. pillows are not firm at all in case you like/hate that good location read more

Should have listened to my first instinkes. ( too Late to cancel ) Pulled in to confirm my credit card because they never sent the confirmation e-mail. Empty White Claw containers greeted me as I got out the car and cigarette butts led me to the front door. I invited my two daughters in from Arizona to celebrate their fathers birthday. During their stay, there was a fire due to ice maker catching blaze, most likely due to lack of maintenance. I made several phone calls not only to confirm reservation, but to make sure my daughters did not receive a bill for their stay. They did manage to only charge one of my daughters. I thought going with Hyatt I could rest a sure that my requests and my daughters would be taken care of. I will never use this hotel again and I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. Hyatt is not what it portrays to be, those days have long passed. read more

Very clean room suite like style! Definitely one of my better stays at a hotel. I will say I am very surprised that they have a beautiful pool but do not have a hot tub which is a feature of most other hotels of the same price point. The staff was very friendly the shuttle service very useful and the free breakfast was very good over all. The front area where breakfast is servers also the hotel entrance is very small especially when trying to accommodate so many for breakfast, the one thing I would change about this hotel was that. We had a block of 10 rooms and our families were scattered all around the hotel. We stayed anyhow because at this point we didn't have time to get another block at a different hotel. My husband and I got married at a nearby venue and set up a block of rooms for our wedding here. We even rented out their meeting room to host our wedding rehearsal dinner. Their sales manager Bree was very efficient through out all of our planning and a pleasure to work with. The meeting room was nice and they provided all setup/cleanup along with plates, silverware and napkins. We also utilized their shuttle service which was always prompt and willing to make additional trips beyond what we had booked in advance to ensure no one was left behind. The hot complimentary breakfast is a plus here and the staff was nothing but friendly during our entire stay! read more

This has been our go-to place when visiting college kids in Chicago - to avoid high hotel prices IN Chicago. We like the extra sitting space, and the scrambled eggs in the continental breakfast. However, last time we stayed, Sept 4-5, room 422, we both got bitten by bed bug(s). Bites emerged the day we checked out. No bites like this before or after. Confirmed at doctor's office. It's unlikely we'll be back because DH reacts badly to any bug bites. This has been really uncomfortable for him for a good 3-4 days. I know it's hard to get rid of bed bugs, but Hyatt folks you HAVE to get it taken care of. It's your business at stake. You've pretty much lost ours. read more

We stayed at the Hyatt Hoffman Estates for a wedding. The checkin was a breeze due to automated kiosks, and the staff was always very helpful. The rooms are beautifully designed and very spacious. The manager even discounted the third night that was not in the original room block for us without us asking. They did everything with a smile and went out of their way to help us at every turn. I attended a conference in Hoffman Estates and this was the official conference hotel. This hotel is pretty decent for the price (conference rate was $99/night). It was fairly new (couple years?) at the time of this review, and all the rooms and furnishings appeared that way. Check-in was quick and easy. Tthe staff were always friendly and courteous throughout my stay. The lobby area was clean and had a few TVs and plenty of seating. There is a small service counter off to the side of the check-in that served drinks and snacks (including alcohol), although I rarely saw anyone sitting there. There's an adjacent area where they serve their continental breakfast, which was very neat and tidy and the breakfast was good. The hotel room was large with a king bed and a nice LCD TV. The bathroom felt a little cramped and had the old bathtub/shower with shower curtain style (I'm not a shower curtain fan). Outside the door to the bathroom, overlying carpet, is a sink and mirror. Small closet next to the sink. Also, only a few small drawers to keep your things and no in-room safe. Closer to the entrance to the room there is a large living space with couch, desk, mini-fridge, and additional sink. Temperature control was via an AC/heater located below the window (no electronic thermostat, just some knobs). Overall, the room was fairly large and very clean. Cleaniless is very important for me so that's what earns this place 4 stars. Annoyances: small bathroom, no safe, temperature control, too few drawers. A few other points about the hotel: Work out area is small but open 24/7. Small pool. Seemed well maintained. No hot tub. Wi-fi throughout the hotel which was very handy. The one thing that impressed me most about this hotel is that from around 7AM until 11PM, they will drive you wherever you want to go within a certain distance of the hotel (their limit is around 6 or 7 miles, I think). This was incredibly useful as it allowed us to get to a few restaurants for dinner with a ride both ways. I didn't try the hotel food but was told it was decent by some friends. If you are looking to head into Chicago, there are two metra lines, each about 6 miles from the hotel (the hotel will drive you to the station by van, if you ask). Chicago is 1 hour by train. In summary, if for some reason you need to stay in the Hoffman Estates area, this hotel is reasonably priced and a good choice. read more

This was a beautiful big hotel. The breakfast was pretty good I loved what they served but some of it was dry and no taste. The big problem was it was not kid friendly at all!! They only had showers no bath tub which is hard when you have a two year old. The tv channels were not kid friendly to our standards no disney channel or Nick jr. The biggest problem which why we came was the pool heater wasn't working it was like a ice bucket. The staff was very friendly but I think they were a little not honest about the pool situation which ended up us leaving to find a hotel with a heater working which was a hassle. It's a nice place for adults but people with families I wouldn't reccomend also they put us across from the elevator which a 2am we could hear every loud drunk person coming back from weddings not nice either with kids!!!!!!! read more

Great room for the price. We booked a few nights here and the rate was super low. Staff was extremely friendly. The hot breakfast was nice and there were snacks available for sale that my kids enjoyed in the evenings. Super clean rooms and comfortable beds. We were close to the center of the building and our WiFi was not very strong or dependable, the sink drained slowly, and the closet was super small. Those are my only negatives, but the rate negates those points. I would stay there again anytime. read more

The rooms are nice and the staff is also very nice. Online it makes it seem like they have a great bar and restaurant and their bar is not a bar by any means. It's also really awkward because it's right next to where you check in... the same high table top and there are maybe 5 chairs. It just seems like a cafe but they call it a bar. The menu is not good either at all and the food I had was good price but tasted like frozen food. There are also barely any channels on the tv and no room service. They also said online they had a great place that you could buy snacks drinks etc. and that is not the case. There's some good selection of water, soda, etc. and some old looking pastries and some candy bars. Strange . One other thing that is annoying is they don't have a clean room or come back later to clean sign go hang on the door knob. It was really annoying every morning getting waken up by cleaning service to clean my room when I could have just have put a sign on the door to come back later.That's a pretty standard thing for hotels to have ....Also they cleaning people do a good job but I've been here for 6 nights and they never have changed the sheets I can tell because I had a makeup stain on one pillow and it was there after they cleaned. Also wish their shuttle would go to the airport it is a 30 min ride would be nice to have since it doesn't look like it ever moves or is being used anyway. Breakfast is also horrible . read more

This hotel is ok. It was cheap and it did what we needed. But the bathroom smelled like dirty water and the staff didn't seem to care about this. Also, one of the two elevators was broken. This made getting to our room slow. Otherwise, the room was spacious and comfortable. They do also offer a small snack area and complimentary breakfast. The prices for the snacks are very expensive, as expected. The food was ok. If you need a place to crash for a reasonable price and you are ok with come corner cutting, this place is alright. read more

I never seen so much Discrimination happening before staying here at this hotel I had a younger girl maybe in her teens. They took for ever to get us check in because there was no one at the desk we waited ten minutes before someone came and they said we never booked early check in and that are room was never booked they took ten minutes to find us after spelling it out so many times they were so lazy at the desk thru are keys on the counter and told us have a good stay and had gave us a hard time checking out as well said that we smoked in the room and that it was gonna be a charge but we never smoke we got a room for nonsmoking if we want to smoke we would walked out side no need to smoke Indoors and I hate smoking so how is it possible beyond the worst experience ever!!! We stayed at the Hyatt Place Hoffman Estates for our wedding weekend. Our wedding was at the Seville Streamwood and this location was very close. The rooms are large and have a mini fridge in them. There is no formal restaurant but you can get some quick bite type foods ( flatbreads, sandwiches, pastries, salad ) and they do offer free breakfast in the morning. If you are looking for more substantial food - there is an IHOP one hotel over ( an easy walk ) or the Assembly American Grill across Barrington road. There is a nice pool ( no hot tub that I saw ) and a workout room. Parking is free and convenient to the lobby, side door and back door. We found the front desk staff to be wonderful. They were very helpful and they do quite a bit pulling double duty by doing check in, bartending and getting together food options. If you have a lot of suitcases or bags they do have a lot of carts at the door. Overall, for the room size and the money this is a nice place to stay for a few nights for a casual stay. read more

Arrived on a Thursday at 5 pm. Snow had not been removed yet, even tho it had been 2-3 days earlier. Front entry way was absolutely soaked, slipped and nearly fell right in front of 2 employees who said nothing and didn't do anything. Front desk attendant seemed annoyed he had to check me in. Got up to my room, and it was dirty. Went down to get another and the guy didn't seem to care. Rooms are decent sized. Large stain on couch, curtains broken and when I opened them, there was a bunch of writing all over the window, which I guess was from construction. Showers were low pressure and towels were gritty. Did have nice TV and HD service with it. Fridge was not turned on and thus worthless the first night. The maids were yelling back and forth down the hallways very loudly in the mornings. Maids let the doors slam everytime they enterered/left a room they were cleaning, they would flip over the door lock thingy and let the door shut on it own and it was very loud. Hearing the maids both mornings was very frustraing. We left a "do not disturb" deal on our door when we went out one afternoon for a bit. Came back and room had been cleaned. Was with a wedding "block" but they made no effort to group us together. Nobody near us was in wedding block, we had friends all over the building on every floor. I would give this place 2.5, if I could. As the beds were comfortable and the pillows were as well. This could be much better hotel for guests, they just need to pull their heads out of their asses. Oh, almost forgot, the parking lot was plowed at 3:30 in the morning the first night we were there. Yeah, those trucks are loud as hell and kept me up for 45 minutes. Told the front desk about it the next day and the attendant just said "nobody else has complained". Lame. Oh, yeah, told we were getting a "special" rate for being in a wedding block. Uh yeah, no. First night we saved 3 whole dollars off. The next night? We paid 7 dollars MORE than the standard rate. LAME. read more

Dirty dishes at breakfast (lipstick on a glass, dirty utensils), no hot water in the shower, urine on the toilet, hairs on the beds, toenail in the window sill, water glass with fingerprints in room, bad breakfast, broken/loud AC, dead TV remote, cleaning man trying to get into our room when he saw our daughter enter and we were trying to pack to leave, horrible Wi-Fi, bad TV reception, limited TV channels..... Even after a free night (still charged us $50) offer to make up for the issues time and time again, they still couldn't get it right. We will take our business somewhere else. read more

First I made 3 reservations. My name, my daughters name, and my sons name. I cancelled my son's reservation, then my daughter called to cancel hers as we decided to put 4 people in one room due to finances. They cancelled my reservation instead of hers. when she got the email stating there was a change to her room she called and cancelled again, then had to call again only to find out they cancelled my reservation instead. A very helpful young lady names Lilly at the front desk helped us out with that thank goodness. The room was fine, bathroom way to small you could hardly get in to shut the door due to the toilet and shower being situated the way it was. I had to keep asking for more towels as there were 4 of us. we had food in our refridgerator which I turned up when I got there because it was off. one day I walked in and the door was open and the temperature turned off. All of the food was warm and I don't know for how long. They did comp my bill 60.00 without a problem. there is a room charge of 15.00 a day that they charge your bill and it doesn't get reimbursed for 4-5 days (along with the 60.00) i wasn't happy as I paid with my bank card. Breakfast was great on the weekend but the weekday someone else must have run the kitchen because it was not as efficient. It was frustrating waiting for things, or suddenly the pitcher of water wasn't there. They employees didn't look like they were in any hurry to get it done. The food was good though. The lobby was nice as we hung out in it several times over the weekend. we stayed 4 nights. It was fine for a night or 2 but there are other hotels that are more comfortable room wise. read more

Wonderful, clean and accommodating! Beds are very comfortable and water pressure in shower is great. The suite was $89 with AAA rate and had two double beds and a pull out so our family was very comfortable. The spacious room had plenty of space so we weren't on top of each other. Great hotel and wonderful staff. We have been staying here every year for State cheer competition at the Sears Centre. The rooms are always clean and the staff is really nice (except the security guard, he's not so nice).
