I was looking for a spot with fresh, flavorful food, a relaxed vibe, and maybe a little something extra to keep my teenage nieces and nephew entertained. MATCH Market & Bar checked just about every box. Before we even ordered, the kids were already wandering through the little market area, which turned out to be half the fun. They found a locally designed jigsaw puzzle, grabbed a few unique snacks for later, and suddenly I had bought myself a few uninterrupted minutes to look over the menu. Parents, aunts, uncles... you know those moments are priceless. Now let's talk about the food. We went all in. Salmon, steak, fresh salads, wings, tacos, appetizers, a sandwich (don't ask me which one because everybody was reaching across the table stealing bites), fries, and every plate was a winner. Everything tasted fresh and had just enough creativity without trying too hard to be "chef-y." It felt like the kind of menu where almost anyone can find something they'll enjoy. My one... and only..,. complaint? The ordering system. Call me old-fashioned, but I'm still a fan of sitting down, having someone take my order, and easing into the dining experience. Ordering at the register, grabbing a table number, and waiting for food delivery always feels a little like upscale cafeteria dining to me. It certainly didn't ruin the experience, but if MATCH ever switched to full table service, I'd probably become a regular. The atmosphere was easygoing and welcoming. We visited early in the afternoon, so it wasn't buzzing just yet. We enjoyed our meal, caught up on family gossip, laughed way too loudly a few times, and then headed out. I noticed they host live music and other events in the evenings, though, and I have a feeling the whole place takes on a completely different personality after dark. If you're looking for a casual lunch with fresh food, good ingredients, and a downtown location that somehow manages to avoid feeling chaotic, MATCH is absolutely worth checking out. The pricing was fair and appropriate for this area, so that was a plus. It's the kind of place that's equally good for a quick bite, meeting friends, or bringing out-of-town guests who want something a little different. Will I be back? I think so. But next time I'm coming in the evening. I want to see this place with a cocktail in hand, music playing, and a little more of the energy that I suspect makes MATCH shine.

About the place the direction they were going and how to be an artist if I wanted to dabble a bit!!! They host little sessions in this cute little studio and if you care to indulge, walk around the hotel, there is art everywhere. The bar is fun and lively and the bartenders are wonderful!!! Good looking out for when I left my computer mouse at bar staff one morning. Ha ha ha. The hotel restaurant is trendy and the menu is solid. Prices are reasonable and food all tastes darn good!!! Rooms were large and very open!!! Keep this in mind if rooming with someone. Bathroom is frosted glass walls. FYI. It can get a little noisy at night. lol. Pool is nice, no life guard. But also not that large. Pleasant. All in all I had a good stay here 5 nights! I would love to do it again!!!

Being an IHG Member with a Diamond…read moreElite status, they have always provided me the perks that go along with it, including being upgrade to a suite (when available), welcome treats, as well as a "raid-the-bar" credit, breakfast or points. They also have two restaurants on the property: Blue Hound Kitchen and Cocktails (book a month in advance for that one - see our video review under our dining section below) and Eden - their rooftop, outdoor restaurant. Both are great options, though Eden has beautiful views of the pool and of the Phoenix landscape! Finally, they are VERY dog-friendly with free treats and water in the lobby (you also get a polaroid picture of them), as well as bedding and other amenities. I first want to acknowledge the parking since I know the valet cost is a an issue. I did self parking at the Brickyard Parking Garage for $16 for 24 hours which was a 3 minute walk across a side street and down a short flight of stairs. I found it super convenient and would recommend it to anyone looking to skip valet. The lobby was nice, very clean and open with high ceilings and a comfortable sitting area. Austin got me checked in quickly and hooked up with their welcome package that included two free margaritas at the rooftop bar Skysill, two free cups of coffee or tea at their coffee shop and two free smoothies from Terra their restaurant on the 1st floor. I stayed in one of their Executive Suites With Mountain View and when I say the room took my breath away, I actually gasped!! It was more than I could hope for with beautiful views overlooking Tempe and Phoenix in both the living room and bedroom, a big comfy bed, a nice sized table to get work done at and a beautiful bathroom complete with a spacious shower and luxurious soaking tub! The room also came with bathrobes, complementary water bottles in the mini fridge, wine glasses and a corkscrew. I really loved being able to relax knowing everything was thought out! The rooftop bar and pool was beautiful, again with breathtaking views. The welcome margarita was good and strong but the Hibiscus Paloma was a show stopper! I also really enjoyed the rooftop patio the next morning when I took my laptop up to enjoy the sunrise over the city while getting my work day started. My morning was a breeze, enjoying beautiful views, my complimentary tea and smoothie but the standout of my stay was Aneesa at concierge. I had a last minute schedule change for a meeting that left me stressed for time to checkout and make my meeting but Aneesa saved the day when, without hesitation, she moved my checkout time back so I could complete my Teams call in the privacy of my room and not feel rushed to leave. I only ended up needing 30 extra minutes but I can't thank her enough for giving me that extra hour! It's people like her who keep me coming back somewhere and I'm happy to say I've already recommended this hotel to a few friends and work colleagues. A couple places I feel the hotel may have room for improvement on is stocking additional amenities for the bath like epsom salts or bubble bath and the windows of my room could have been cleaner but those little things really didn't bother me much at all. Honestly, I just walked across the street to the 24hr CVS and bought some bubble bath after my drinks and enjoyed a nice relaxing soak, it was perfect! I've definitely found my new go to hotel in Tempe! Thank you Westin Tempe and Team for taking care of me and again, thank you Aneesa, you're a true MVP!

Has places to eat, a bar, places to study, or get some work done. It's beautifully decorated. The rooftop pool, the do at night, the bar opened and the food you can get there. It is a bit pricey. The view is one of the best views in Tempe I have seen so far! The drinks for happy hour is always good! It's super close to mill Ave where all the bars and city life is! Super convenient place. There are fees such as parking and etc. I would stay here again and again! We went for a staycation and we got a great deal! We didn't pay over $100 ! Sometimes it's rare but it does happen! I probably would not pay over $200 for this hotel because the area is super loud at night especially if there is a dj and there are a lot of judgy stares from staff. Parking was on the street with a meter. We had the margarita on special at the lobby bar and then went up the elevator to the rooftop bar. We had one more drink there. It's good out there with the misters on and has a decent view. I would come back and have drinks again if the occasion were to arise.

I spend a lot of town downtown meeting new clients that sometimes I gotta take a break for myself…read more Typically I come in the fall when the weather is cooler and head straight to the 13th Floor Bar (That's another review) but to kick things off for the night we all meet at the Lobby Bar aka Monroe's before kicking off a night social fun. Our barenter Kim was slammed but handled it like a pro. Our drinks were great and consistent and she made she we had a memorable experience. We did a few rounds downstairs and took advantage of the specials and toasted to some fun. The lobby area has a chill vibe with lots of seating to allow for some privacy or gatherings. As long as you bring positive energy, people typically will return and I of course made some new friends at the bar who were in town visiting for work. Our vibe was infectious and they joined in a bit later as we returned before they closed down at 10pm.

Fourth of July: Sunset & Sparks at Vīb Hotel Tempe…read more We're a little late getting this one posted, but this rooftop celebration was definitely worth sharing. We had the opportunity to attend Sunset & Sparks at Vīb Hotel Tempe, where guests enjoyed an evening filled with rooftop views, a buffet dinner, complimentary cocktails, lawn games, live music, a photo booth, and of course, fireworks to end the night. As much as we love our usual Independence Day traditions, this was a refreshing change of pace. Instead of rushing around, we were able to slow down, take in an incredible Arizona sunset, enjoy some good food, listen to live music, and simply spend quality time together. The buffet featured grilled chicken, burgers with all the fixings, creamy potato salad, coleslaw, fresh toppings, patriotic desserts, and plenty of drinks to keep everyone cool throughout the evening. Sometimes it's not about doing the biggest celebration--it's about finding the right atmosphere to relax and enjoy the holiday. This rooftop event delivered exactly that. Thank you to Vīb Hotel Tempe for inviting us out to experience Sunset & Sparks. We had a wonderful evening and loved seeing another unique way to celebrate the Fourth of July in the Valley.

The first thing I noticed about our room was the layout. Typical hotel rooms have the headboards of the bed against the wall. Our room was totally different. There was a long desk which was the headboard of the bed and the foot of the bed faced the window. As a result, there was very little space between one side of the bed and the wall. It wasn't a big deal but worth noting. Our room was clean and quiet which was appreciated. I also really liked the fragrance of the body wash and lotion. It was definitely a little detail that I noticed. All in all our stay was comfortable and relaxing. If we are back in the area we would probably stay at the Vib Hotel again.

Solid hotel experience. For being downtown, it's surprisingly spacious. Experiences "at" the hotel…read morearen't much to write home about (not much to the bar or purchaseable breakfast buffet), but it's a fantastic homebase for exploring the nearby areas. PROS: -The hotel provides two free, in-the-fridge, water bottles per day. That's such a great benefit, and we continually used them to stay hydrated in this heat. -Hotel staff was extremely friendly, and they'd greet us or say good-bye at every interaction. Every interaction we had with hotel staff was fantastic. -The shower was fantastic. It had a handheld shower head AND rainfall shower you can choose between. The controls were placed on the entrance side of the shower, ensuring you don't get shot with ice cold water while trying to turn it on. -Elevators were fast, and we rarely waited for one. -Room was clean and surprisingly spacious for being downtown. Zero complaints. -Extremely walkable to the convention center. Even in the ridiculous heat, it was a pretty short, not-horrific walk to the convention center. -The hotel is right next to the Arizona Center mall-esque area. There are cute events there (Farmer's Market, celebrations, etc.) in addition to a few restaurants. It could use more restaurants, but they're within a block's walk if you're staying local. -You're walkable to Roosevelt Row and the stadium. It's a longer walk, but it's doable. -You're also walkable to the Lightrail very easily. -They have a small selection of purchasable food items including frozen mini pizzas and ice cream. The room does not have a microwave by default, but they can bring one to your room upon request. CONS: -I saw a lot of people doing laptop work in the lobby. This is probably because the room doesn't really have a business chair or desk. It has a circular table with a lounge chair next to it. It'll work for doing work, but it's not great for looking presentable on business calls (with your slouched position) or back support for 8 hours. -The water from the spigot either comes out "Flaming Hot" or "Warm". There is no cold, and attempts to get it to "cold" just don't happen. Our shortcut: fill up your water bottle than tuck it into the fridge for a bit. -During Phoenix summer, with outdoor temps at 110, we couldn't get the AC to get under 74 degrees with the curtains fully drawn. When we opened the curtains, it couldn't get under 77. I assumed that all hotels in the area had the same issue, but the hotel we went to next stayed under 70 easily. I didn't report that it wasn't working nor have anyone come check the AC, though. -There are lots of bars and restaurants in the area, so I'm not sure the AC needed to compete, but the single in-lobby bar felt very generic and unremarkable compared to some downtown hotel bars I've been to in other metro areas.
