If I could give this place no stars, I would. I was referred by Geico after an accident. My cars initial damage was fixed in a timely manner however there were multiple unrelated areas of my car that were damaged in the process...they broke a window and scraped up the interior of my car. It took me MONTHS and dozens of calls to get my car fixed. I was given every excuse under the sun on why they couldn't fix it sooner (back order, part was lost, they thought it came but it didn't, more back order, "parts guy" is out, it's lunch time, etc...). Almost 9 months later and a few dozen headaches, my car was finally fixed. I will admit, their customer service in person is great and they are very kind people, however they are not reliable at all and will take advantage of your kindness and patience. I'm convinced that the only reason they fixed their errors is because we threatened to report them to Geico. Stay far away from this place unless you are ready for a headache. The way this place operates is very sketchy. Told us the car would be done within a week or so and gave Friday/Monday at the latest. Called on Friday for them to tell us Monday. When Monday came, we called 3 times because we were never updated on the status. Each time the receptionist told us her manager said it'll be ready later that day. The 3rd time we called she said it would be ready Tuesday morning and they would give us a call (I guess they wanted us to stop calling). Tuesday morning came and went! We called around noon and she said it was going through inspection for quality assurance and would be ready later that day. They NEVER called us. We drove by the lot around 5pm and the car was just sitting there, completed. We decided to come on Wednesday to get the car because the rental place had closed at that point. There was still no call from the receptionist, at any point, and the car was sitting collecting additional hours to bill the insurance company. I would not recommend them for service. read more

I brought my car back in October 2021 when someone backed into my parked car. I chose them because they are a Geico service provider. They did an awesome job, customer service and communication was excellent, quick too if I recall. Flash forward to may/ June 2022. I noticed the bumper of my car had "popped out a bit" so I brought it in today thinking maybe brackets needed replacing or had weakened on their own. What I didn't notice and was pointed out immediately, was a scratch like someone tapped me or I tapped something that may have popped the bumper out a bit. I believe it was the same gentleman I dealt with both times and he was so courteous. I think it's family owned business and he may have been an owner either way you can tell he takes pride in the what he does & the business! I had an indigent and brought my car in for instance-covered repairs. Insurance even gave me a rental. I was ecstatic when my car rolled in after repairs -- it practically looked brand new! But when I was analyzing the repairs I noticed that the fender part of the repair was sticking out (clearly visible) with that black gum stuff holding it together. Wtf? I notified them immediately Luckily I noticed it before leaving the lot. They told me to leave the rental there and they'll call me when the authentic EOM fender arrives for them to fix. Again wtf. Soo here I am driving around the District with a poked-out fender looking stupid. I called them two days after the conversation to see it if came: Nope. Days later I had to take the initiative call THEM (again) to find out that the part had come in. Four 4 days after picking up the initially "repaired" car, the part came in and they installed it within minutes. MINUTES. Took my vehicle to this shop through Geico. My sunroof and antenna had been damaged due to vandalism. I received a call 5 days later that the vehicle was ready. While driving the vehicle on the highway the sunroof almost flew off, hurting my hand. Contacted Geico and was told to go back to the shop. When I arrived the Manager told me he was waiting for a part to come in to complete the job. I asked why I wasn't informed of this as this could have caused a very serious accident, had the top actually flown off. He seemed unconcerned and said he was going to order the part right away. Why, again was I told to pick up the vehicle if in fact it wasn't ready. I was very upset and disappointed. I couldn't believe someone could be so callous. I contacted Geico and told them I didn't want to go back there and went to another body shop in Capitol Heights who I had done business with before, they were exceptional. Anyway, they refused to do the work because they said Hyattsville did a bad job and they did not want to have to clean up a mess. Now I'm waiting for Geico to contact Hyattsville to resolve this mess. This is unacceptable, they did however fix the problem even though it was a more than exhausting experience. Additionally, the antenna they replaced is not the same color. First one was white and matched. Replacement is black. read more

I've taken my car here 3 times for them to resolve an airbag issue. All 3 times they didn't do sh*t. I got my car back each time with the same airbag sensor going off. They put after mark parts on my car after I got hit in an accident so now my warranty is even voided; both manufacturers and mopar extended warranty I purchased. Now I'm $2500 down the whole due to that. Worst body shop in the entire state of Maryland. All they do is talk; no work at all. read more

Beware. As other reviewers mentioned, a Geico claims office and car rental desk is on site, so getting a rental vehicle is not difficult. However, repairs can be slow. Can take up to weeks at a time. My story is this: brought vehicle in for repair of a door,trim, paint job of the door. Prior to leaving vehicle Geico claims staff inspected my vehicle in my presence. We both did a walk around; inspected in/out. I took all my valuables along with me as well. Pretty much emptied out the vehicle. Out of the blue, several days later I get a call that there's a problem with the ignition; vandals had gotten to the vehicle parked in a fenced lot and happened to leave the tool they used on the passenger seat. The staff at the repair shop tried to say I left the tool on the seat and this made it easy for the vandals!!! Of course I deny this and I ask the Geico claims staff - the very same one who inspected my vehicle - whether or not she saw anything left on the passenger seat? Her response: "I don't know. I can't say." Needless to say, additional/ unexpected costs incurred + additional days my car is at the shop. Not sure if there's some type of insurance scam going on there (more damages = more the body shop can charge insurance co.?). I've never been back. Don't ever plan to. I'll edit this after i get my car back, but just wanted to talk about customer service. My mom has an accent when she speaks English, so you can definitely tell that that's not her primary language. I found it offensive that the lady in the front was talking down to her as if she didn't understand what was being said. I don't even think she would listen to the end of my mom's questions and just pipe in whatever answer came to her mind. When I started talking (I guess accent-free), the lady found out I was with my mom, she became immediately nicer to my mom. Just so weird. Whatev. So someone broke into my car and also side swiped it near the front wheel. I called Geico and they reccomended Hyattsville Auto Body. They had an appointment for the following day and when I walked in there was a reader board with my name on it for an appointment :-) They took me right away, I spoke with the Geico Insurance Agent they had on site and took him to my car to show him the damages. I must say he was very nice and helpful and once he got a look at everything, he went in and called Geico to go over things, passed me on to the Enterprise representative to get my rental and I was on my way! A couple days later I got a call that my car was ready, so I went to go pick it up. My car looked brand spanking new. They did an awesome job on my vehicle and even did things they didn't have to do, like put air in my tire because when I dropped it off the pressure light was on. I would definitely reccomend them to anyone I knew in need of body work. They also seemed reasonably priced given the work that was done. If anything were to happen to my car again (God forbid) I'd bring it in to Hyattsville Auto Body without any hesitation. Also, I read reviews about the customer service and lady at the front desk. I would've given Hyattsville Auto Body five stars because really their customer service is wonderful and they do good work, but there was some disorganization and miscommunication and I ended up waiting two months for a part to come in so they could finish the repairs my car needed. Turned out the part had been in for a while, but nobody had contacted me about it. This place has a GEICO claims person on site so if you are a GEICO customer getting a rental while your car is repaired it is very convenient. I would absolutely recommend this place. read more

Consumers beware! Took my vehicle into Hyattsville Auto Body on 05/11/2022 to have repairs done on my rear bumper as a result of a fender bender (Hyattsville Auto Body advertises that they are a Geico Service Center, we have Geico auto insurance). Received call on 05/18/2022 that repairs were completed. Drove to the repair shop and dropped off rental car and picked up my vehicle. Upon backing up in a parking lot less than 3 miles away, noticed that back-up camera not working. Promptly took my car back to the repair shop (5:15pm) and they were closing shop but advertise that they are opened until 6pm. I spoke with the manager(?) and he stated that the issue was common when re-assembling the area, wires are crossed. My first concern was why was the tech working in the area of my back-up camera which is over my license plate (no damage) and only accessible through the trunk. Manager stated that the tech was disassembling the camera area and he stopped him because no work was needed in that area. Needless to say, now my back-up camera does not work and they are claiming no liability and Geico will not pay to have my back-up camera fixed because of the no liability (their word against mine). Additionally, when I brought my vehicle into Hyattsville Auto Body shop to be assessed, manager reviewed the damages and noted that there was condensation in my rear right tail light assembly which may have been caused by the accident. I was in agreement and requested that the tail light assembly be replaced. After the back-up camera fiasco, I looked at my right tail light assembly and noticed that it had not been replaced but charged to the invoice received for services rendered. When I brought this to the attention of the manager, he stated that the tail light replacement which was ordered was received was cracked and they sent it back and were expecting another replacement in 2 weeks due to supply chain issues. They would give me a call once the replacement was received (yeah right). If that was the case, why was this not brought to my attention when I first arrived to pick up my vehicle? No, Hyattsville Auto Body was under the impression that all was well with my vehicle and I would not notice that my light assembly was not replaced. Now Hyattsville Auto Body is in "damage control" mode trying to explain to Geico why my light assembly was not replaced. Though I've used Hyattsville Auto Body in the past, I will never use their services again (and I recommend that you don't either) due to their lack of customer satisfaction support, claims of non-liability and overall "shady" business practices. I will have another Geico repair facility replace my rear light assembly but cost to repair my back up camera will be on my dime due to Hyattsvile Auto Body's claim they are not liable. Maybe it's time to shop other auto insurance plans as well..... read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. I have nothing positive to say about Hyattsville Auto Body. This body shop is terrible. They work for GEICO and i had an insurance claim and I feel that they tried to scam me - fixed a few things and told me that I had to file another claim (which means I have to pay ANOTHER deductible) for the remainder of the work. I should have been smarter & picked my own repair shop than to choose a shop that only has GEICO's interests at heart. In my opinion the bodywork was was sloppy and incomplete. I had to take my car back to them to fix what they didn't fix the first time and now there is damage to another part of my car. The young lady who works as the adjuster was very unprofessional and rude to me. The supervisor failed to return my calls or satisfy me as a new/potential customer. I refused to renew my GEICO policy because of the horrible experience I had with Hyattsville Auto Body on Rhode Island Ave. There is an Enterprise Car Rental station in the office of this shop and they were very professional, went above and beyond and I would recommend them to my family and friends. read more

I took my WRX here after I was sandwiched on Rt 1. They fixed everything up but my trunk was soon smelling damp and musty. I assumed there was a leak but it took an independent auto-whiz to realize that they had not sealed the trunk properly down by the wheel well. Thus, I had to take it back to them and drive a pickup truck around town for four days while they took their time sealing her back up. Not a very professional shop. read more

They serviced two imports A Toyota and BMW and did an outstanding job each time. The service not only included my GEICO sponsored service but also any other necessary items my cars required taking care of. Average repair shop, staff is nice. The time frame in which your repair will be completed is slow. By comparison, the overall finished product was average and a bit overpriced. The lot that your vehicle is housed is overcrowded and the lobby is outdated. I have a white suv with a white pearl paint that can be hard to match properly; yet they matched it perfectly and efficiently. My vehicle was ready for pick up the same day I dropped it off. But, I am so grateful to the entire team from the reception, to Amber my car appraiser who was very professional and thorough and answered all of my questions. Shegun, was my representative who got me all set up and even upgraded me to an SUV so that I could travel around the DMV and continue running my interior design business with the same size car! I was in and out of there in 45 minutes or less, and will hopefully have my car soon! The Geico adjuster of this place, Ms. Amber was very rude to us. We went to sign the total loos agreement after an accident. I called her before and asked what should I bring along or is there anything I should do before come, sign and get my check. She didn't provide any helpful information over phone. When we went there she totally denied that I've asked her and send us back home to get our papers. She didn't even care to greet, apologize or thank us in the whole paper work process. Geico sent me here because it's one of their "in-network" shops. Don't let them fool you. I took my car there and after a month of them fixing it, I got it back with improperly sealed doors that leaked and missing parts. After taking it back and clearly outlining the issues, they fixed some but not others. Just a headache. I took my car to Hyattsville Auto for repair after an accident I picked up my car which is a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe on Thursday drove the car and begin to hear sound that were not present prior to the accident or when I took it to this shop I had this car for 5 months and you know how your car sound. When I start my car it sound like something is wrong with the muffler there is this ticking sound , smell like something is burning when I put on brakes waiting at a stop sign there is this this awful sound engine jumps when you place it in gear I'm not satisfy with my car being this way I will return back to this auto shop to have them correct what they did wrong this a Geico Express shop and let me not forget I had to call a tow service because my car would not start on Saturday which cause me to miss my granddaughter birthday celebration I'm not very happy about my car I have informed my attorney of this situation read more

I will have to agree with Maria's evaluation. The receptionist at this shop is just RUDE!! She kept calling me "honey" which I find disrespectful. Then I overheard her also being rude to the Enterprise employees over the phone. When I dropped off my car for repairs (after getting an estimate from her co-worker) she gave began raising her voice and telling me the estimate eas wrong and that it was going to cost more than the estimate. I told her that was fine and she still kept arguing with me. I had to pull her outside and let her know that I was not stupid and she needed to put a little more respect in her tone when she spoke to me.....she did. I had to threaten to take my car to a shop up the street to get her to back off. Do not go to this shop!! No one needs to be spoken to like they are stupid. i literally went back 6 times to get my hood fixed. The first 4 times they did not take the dent out completely then after that there was an issue with the paint not setting. A headache to say the least. It took about 6 months to get my car the way i wanted it and i still can see a small ripple... smh not happy read more
