Great escape from Manhattan back to my old stomping grounds, and I am happy to see the SLS up and running on Collins strip of beachfront glam. The thing about Miami is, you have to deal with a bunch of Miami-ans, which can be a great thing if they are your friends but are also generally a bunch of douchey, try-hard glam crowd. Which was what we were looking for, and it was fun. Perfect for a drink out and meeting good looking people, I was in-town for work. 4 drinks at the bar set me back $77, which is higher than most places in NYC except the nicer clubs like PHD or those at the Standard. I had a great time regardless, great for dancing. I love that you can smoke in Miami, just out the open doors next to the pool. Tons of soft cabanas to be lounged upon, or great for a PDA moment. The Hyde, and the SLS in general, is pretty fantastic. I will be back... soon. read more

The drinks here are indeed really exciting and fun. Food options are a mix from Katsuya and Bazaar, so you can try best of both worlds in one place. Amazing. We had few rolls and a cob salad. Cob Salad was a bit too fatty by the end, but some might like that. Rolls are wonderful, even the naruto roll with no rice. Prob best naruto roll I have ever tried. As far as the pool area, try sit on the chairs towards the beach entrance if you want sunshine. read more

Went to Hyde on Saturday night to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of two good friends. We had a large group (16 people) and were accommodated with a table by the DJ booth, and we ordered bottle service. Overall, the experience was awesome! It took a little while to get everything set up, but we were escorted to our table pretty quickly. The staff was great about refilling drinks. The DJ was really awesome, and I danced A LOT (like nonstop). Gabrielle was one of our servers and he was great. He was very attentive to our group, and he brought me a wet, warm towel when a drink was dumped in my lap. The club itself is very nice. There's an outdoor area with a pool and lounge seating. Inside, you'll find a lot of comfortable lounge seating and a bar. It was pretty loud inside, but that's the point. I will definitely be back to Hyde if I find myself in South Beach again (hopefully, I do!). read more

This is what you think about when you think of Miami. Beautiful poolside night scene. Glamorous chic in the tropical setting with delicious cocktails lounging by the pool. I definitely recommend this over the too crazy too watered down drinks too many 35 year old women wishing they were 20 at the Delano next door. The service here is friendly and without the pretension of lots of Miami spots. And with this setting and the amazing drinks, they could be if they wanted to! Let's cross our fingers it doesn't change. The drinks here are fantastic. The passionfruit cocktail with passionfruit foam was awesome. I also loved the salt air margarita. It really did taste like salt air bottled up. Think about those salted margarita rims and how you only get a taste here and there? Hands down, the BEST scene in Miami for daytime fun! The pool party is crazy and draws a great crowd. The staff there is the best I've ever seen in the service industry. Hard working, friendly, and creates a party vibe! That said....if you are guys, don't expect to show up and not spend serious cash. And even if you are a group of girls, your best bet is contacting people beforehand to plan, as the door can be difficult to navigate. read more

This was such a sad experience. Imagine women outside not being let in and having to ask the bouncer if it's "because of their weight" that they're not getting in. She wasn't even big! As a guy I get not having too many dudes let in but to not have any rhyme or reason is so high school. The least you could do is have human decency to let people know they're not getting in instead of letting them stand there for an hour. Art Basel weekend isn't your typical let's be douchy type of weekend. People were there to see the actual dj's performing not to sit around and judge other people. Amazing bachelorette party celebration here on a Sunday Funday by the pool! We reserved a bed easily through email without a deposit required. Drink $ minimums per person but those were EASILY exceeded! Haha but we were celebrating so didn't matter the outrageousness of the prices! Our server Tiffany was amazing!!! We never had to pour our own drinks she was always on top of it. A little nervous when we walked in at 1 on a Sunday the place was almost empty but it soon filled up and we had the best day of our trip. I guess Saturdays are busier during the day but packed, I think we made the right choice for a good group and good service on a Sunday. read more

We were staying at hotel across the street. We have been coming 3-4 times evey year for 6 years to get away frim the niorthern chill. After dinner, we went back to our hotel and hung out at at bar outside the pool. We heard this fabulous music and decided to "find" it and it was practically right in front of us! The staff at the door was great! We were concerned about the age mix as we are late 30s. The staff was so welcoming and complimentary. As soon as we walked in, we met and mixed with so many fun and beautiful people. It was intimate but spacious. DJ was outstanding both nights (we went back Saturday night. I loved this place, although it was almost empty when we visited, the music and the vibe were great. the drinks? a bit weak if you ask me. we had a mojito pitcher with tons of ice and not enough rum but it was good ...whatever the cabanas are comfortable and cozy or you can go mingle at the bar , talk to the dj and see people with seriously cool outfits....the staff members were a bit full of it, but hey the tip is included no matter what so it makes sense that they dont make any efforts. I will definitely come back during the summer , hopefully there will be more people and more ambiance PS: be prepared to spend BIG time!!!! read more

For every WMC, I try to plan a venue with that's considered the latest and greatest hotspot. Last year it was the Arkadia pool, this year it had to be Hyde Beach at the SLS Hotel which had its very first year of WMC pool parties. The Afrojack "Kings of Ace" pool party brought a slew of dutch electro artists to the lineup including a few tech house acts as well. Knowing that drink prices are expensive in Miami at the top notch places, we came prepared with flasked sunscreen bottles of vodka to sneak in. The only problem was that all of us were wearing string bags, which for some god awful reason this particular place does not allow. In fact my whole time here, it felt like SLS just wanted to find ridiculous ways to make their patrons less welcomed and up their douche factor by making up rules on the fly. So after scrambling around, Mike, myself, Gio, Chirag and our lovely rager Canadia lady friends were on our way in. I manage to get at least one screen bottle snuck in through the single pocket of my board shorts. Michelle, one of our Canadia friends brought some of her north of the border magic and managed to sneak in a bag of chips in a full sized grocery bags. If we knew better, we would've had her help us start a picnic in there. Mike wasn't able to sneak much in, so he ends up ordering the very first drink at the bar. Needless to say, his reaction to the bill was all I needed to hear. $52 for two Vodka redbulls. Wow! I thought LIV Nightclub was outrageous, but these guys take it to the top for a day party. The weather was highly unstable, so there was the occasional rain that would come and go. Michelle, Liv (our other lovely Candia friend) and I found some comfortable refuge in the euro style salted and heated side pool. This isn't the main pool facing the stage, but one off the side for relaxation and fun in the sun. Even Though the drink prices were outrageous, Hyde Beach was the only close to Vegas pool experience I got during my entire WMC. I never got in the water again the rest of my trip at any other pool parties. As the day wore on, the DJs came after one another. The ones left over to rage in the rain were the true WMC enthusiasts that came to support their artists. I was there during R3hab's set, and I believe I missed Afrojack by an hour. This is a typical dilemma that happens during a week of pool and night club raging. I just had to leave at a decent time so I can get to my next party. Maybe next year I will plan an entire day around Hyde Beach because this venue delivers, with ridiculous prices and all. read more

We went there on Sunday daytime around 2:30 , but let me tell you something, it was the worst pool party ever:( the dance floor seriously needs a deodorising.... Andrew Dulac whom is associated with Hyde was one of the most amazing staff members I have ever encountered. Our reservation table for NYE was lost and was stuck with no NYE plans. He did whatever he could to be able to best help us and satisfy our needs. He is very sweet, honest and professional, with immediate responses. Certainly a cool location to grab a drink. I love the South Beach formula, which was apparent after you hit a few spots; beautiful people, cool bar, epic setting where somewhere in the vicinity is a pool with plenty of room to lounge. I enjoyed a few cocktails with a friend before leaving here, I did feel a little hipper for the experience. As the pictures and reviews suggest, a round of drinks (2) is going to be $40+, great news it automatically includes the 18% gratuity (WTF). I will say this, I hit some popular spots on my night out and Hyde had the best Mojito, can't put my finger on what distinguished it, but it was the best. If it wasn't for the gaudy pricing, this place was a 5 star happening. read more

Saturday pool parties here are unmatched. You have to look your best at the door, but inside is a rowdy party where they spray champagne and ballers pop bottles! Came here to see Wally Lopez during WMC. Would love to check out the day pool parties but I had a great time at Hyde. Strict door and guys, you better have a bunch of girls with you, or be expected to cough up $. Loved the chill/laidback vibes: cabanas, mismatched chairs and couches and tables so you can sit if you wanted but definitely go for the seclusion of the cabana over a tiny table where you are throwing bows with the person next to you (i'm looking at you trashbag rando girl who yelled at me because SHE was dancing like a flailing fool in a crowd of people bumping into me/spilling my drink with no regard or proper CLUB ETIQUETTE... One inch closer, chick, and NYC is coming out.) Can't hold that against Hyde though, they were good. Minus a star for probably the most dumbest bartender I think I have ever encountered, "Orange Vodka and Soda water please. Stoli Orange or GG orange or something would be fine...." I get Vodka and Orange Juice....No "Orange Vodka and Soda water" I get Vodka and Coke.....No "Orange Vodka and Soda water" I get Vodka and Sprite....No but ughhhh smh after 3 FAILED drink order attempts I give up. Note to bartender in Miami, you are LUCKY because you get the luxury of autogratuity but that doesn't mean all customer service or competence goes out the freaking window. Some of us bartenders elsewhere ACTUALLY have to put effort in and do our jobs and yes, I sympathize with the crazy customers that come in but work with me man gosh. Wally rocked it! My bachelorette party was really fun here. We went on a day it wasn't too busy which was honestly nice. Good music, plenty of room to splash around and mingle. Our server Mariel was great, Lucas too. The vase drinks were soooo yum, we got a few of the berry mint ones. And a few bottles of the absolut. Overall happy with our experience, but would say $4,000 for a Cabana is a little overpriced for the value you get. Given that it's at the SLS, a higher price is expected but given other similar places I have visited, I would say this is a bit over what I feel is worth it (in the future). Wow. Service is fantastic. We ordered a pitcher that didn't have much brandy but they were kind enough to replace it with a pitcher that was filled with much more. Great scene and a perfect way to hit off a Saturday afternoon. Perfect laid back scene with people who know how to dress and know how to have a good time. There is no doubt we are coming back on our next trip. The ceviche was served in a coconut (so fresh!) and the little Cuban sandwiches were just right (although a little small if you have a huge appetite). The best part was the wonderful service by Eric, Arthur and Rashidi :). My expectations of sangria service and sugar cane have been transformed by the staff here. read more

Here on a Friday night. Bartender throws away my drink that I'm not done with so I mentioned it to her. To make up for it, she pours 1/4 of a cup up with a drink. I've never had a bartender make a mistake of throwing away a drink and then give me 1/4 of a drink back. Not to mention, I asked for well drink and she mentioned they didn't have well liquor but I saw well liquor behind the counter. Never coming here again. read more

Beware of security staff, they will steal your belongings! I went out Saturday night and I left my phone in one of the cabanas, when I went to look for it one security guard told me he found it and gave me the description of my phone (color, brand and screen picture), then he came back to me and said "never mind we don't have your phone" So how he knew the description of my phone? He avoided all my questions and completely changed his attitude. They "opened an investigation" and told me that the phone they found was not mine and it was somebody else's phone. When I told the manager I will go to the police and make a report he said "we have a very good relationship with the police" I don't know why he would say that unless he felt threatened. I tried contacting the Security Director by email and phone and no answer. Security never took my phone to Lost & Found which I guess it's supposed to be their policy, instead they stole it. It's not about the price of the phone, it's about the valuable content. Don't trust security from Hyde! read more

Couple weeks ago was my anniversary and I decide to do something different with my wife so we stayed in the hotel for the weekend. In Hyde we had a good time.. the place, the environment, the people that work there, everything was 5 stars! We order some drinks in the main bar and I remember that who take care of us was Ricky, very helpful guy and great energy, he made us his own creation for that hot day at the pool! Hyde Beach is a very fun location that I have always heard about from friends and I actually got to experience it for myself recently at a private night event I attended. There's an outdoor pool section which I can't imagine how much fun it is to be there during WMC (Winter Music Conference) or summer parties. The outdoor section also features a lot of comfortable seating areas and a bar to order drinks. There is also an indoor section which has a nice set up with surprisingly a lot of seating and some space to make sure you can get down to the music playing (usually electronic). I also ran into a friend here who I haven't seen in a decade who happens to work here and explained to me that Hyde Beach actually does a lot of private events for all kinds of groups, sizes, events, etc. Very fun Miami spot and as usual the drinks are pricey just like every Miami location, so you may want to save a couple bucks by maybe doing a pregame before coming out here. read more

I think the place is great. Yes, the staff is attractive but they're also very cool. The Irish woman running things is top notch and super friendly-cool. Our bartender Melody was very attentive and joking with us the whole time making us feel very welcome. The food was very good, especially the burger and the sushi. Drinks were perfect (especially the cucumber-y one). The decor is relaxed and breezy while staying chic and unlike the other south beach spots, it does not feel like its filled with only young wannabee models and sugar daddy types. Worst experience ever. Me and my friends made a reservation with 3 days in advances for the Thanksgiving dinner at 8 pm. We arrived on time, the waiter was kind of slow but since we were chatting, we were kind of relax about it. The menu was complimented by a few plates, one of them was a soup that 30 minutes after we orders it they told us they ran out of it but could change it for a salad and 15 minutes after the Metree approach telling us that the ran out of food and his excuse was that the Jus sold more plates than they expected and that we weren't the only ones in the same situation ( had made a reservation and had no food to eat). Thankfully one of my girl friends had a friend at the Grand Hotel Kitchen, she called and asked if the could served us, so as soon they said they would awe left and had a great dinner and a nice time thankfully... and i really took my time writing this review to avoid who ever is thinking making a reservation, to think it twice or have a second option in mind.. just in case. March 15th 2014. Went here with two other friends. If you see two larger guys A n J. You might be able to reason with thm. If a short skinny longer hair thick accent guy S is at the door. Save your sanity and walk away. First tried to charge us $1700 for a table with no line out front and place prob at 60% capacity. Then let in one of us and even with another promoter saying to let us in then kept us up front for another 40min trying to charge $150 and then $100 each just to walk in the door. Finally got inside but played the same racket to other groups of our friends. Again place was busy but not packed so def recommending to all our friends to treat the place like a plague. Great pool party! It wasn't difficult at all for us to get in on a Sunday around 3:30 PM. I was with two guys (and myself). There was barely any line and the door man charged a min spend of $100 per guy, free for me. The drinks, though "pricey," weren't as expensive as we thought they would be. I think our mixed drinks (maker's mark and ginger) were about $15 each? Maybe $18? Beer was $13. Overpriced for most places, but it's South Beach and there was no cover charge. We actually had difficulty trying to reach the minimum spend. The music was amazing (a mix of mostly hip hop, reggaeton, and a little bit of house/EDM. The pool area does get packed, but not too packed. There is also an indoor bar area if the weather is too hot outside. Though there are some reviews that say this place is racist, there was a pretty diverse crowd. Bathrooms were surprisingly pretty clean. Overall had a fun time. The only negatives were that there were no lockers or safe places to store your valuables so I had to keep an eye on my phone/wallet the entire time, which was difficult when wanting to be in the pool. Also the water in the pool was pretty warm, but I guess they can't do anything about it when the weather is 100 degrees. read more

The Hyde Beach is a fun get a way from normal life. We had some issues with service and hospitality but Hector made everything right and we had a great time. I would highly recommend if you're younger and want to have a good day at the pool or fun night in the club.
