Went back again after our sub par experience 6 months ago, for happy hour. We got the "sirloin sliders" and Wagyu carpaccio. The sliders were ground beef, not sirloin steak, and the "Mesclun spring mix" ( fancy salad) in the center of the carpaccio was literally half rotten. They comped the carpaccio, but this being the second time that the food was extremely sub par for a Prime Steakhouse, we cannot recommend it and we will not go back when we returning Cleveland again. I came here for dinner with my parents during the final four weekend. It was busy but not crazy busy. It looked like they had a lot of open tables but that could be because they didn't have enough servers or cooks...who knows. I think I'm writing all this about their possible staffing problem because I feel bad about what I'm about to say next. Service: our server was kind but absent. It took over 90 min to get our meals. We had empty water cups for 20 -30 minutes. I mention this because there were other servers or managers or bussers (no clue who they were) refilling water cups in our section that didn't come to our table or the table next to ours. We kinda bonded during this experience lol. I waited too long to post this review to give honest specific feedback on the food quality. I do remember that I was satisfied with my meal. Also a manager eventually came to our table and gave us dessert on the house! The dining room is well maintained and nice to be in. we live here in Beachwood we eat in the restaurant all the time always have loved it. We recently decided to order the French onion soup to go same price as in the restaurant. It came in a tiny little container. The cheese was not melted for the same price. It must be at least half or more than half the size less than what is in the restaurant. We dine here regularly. We especially like the "Early Bird" menu. It is a real bargain. Appetizer and Entree are included. My wife usually has the Chicken Milanese and I really like the Chopped Steak. A glass of wine and we are happily satiated for well under $100. On occasion, you need a fillet mignon. I like their version. I hear the complaint about fillet dryness and don't care. I still like it. If you feel likewise, try one. I think you'll enjoy it. Hyde Park has that older style elegance that reminds us of dressing for dinner and refined table service. So many newer places have lost that. We understand, younger people aren't looking for the formality, but for older folks like us, it is nice to revisit occasionally. read more

Visited this location while staying at Hotel Indigo with a good friend from Florida and enjoyed every minute! The ambiance was wonderful, not too crowded, seated almost immediately. Placed a carry-out order with a Bone in Rib Eye. The temperature was on the raw side of rare when it was ordered medium rare. I called the restaurant to notify them, and the manager who took the call took my name, phone, and order number and promised he would look into it and call me back with a response and resolution. He never called. My experience with Hyde Park has been similar in the past; when an error occurs, they just do not care and do nothing to make it right. First time last time. Very poor impression of Cleveland after coming to this establishment. Glad to see the bar was busy at happy hour, but it was clear that this was not a friendly crowd with patrons at the bar holding empty seats for over 30 minutes and I stood patiently waiting just off the bar area as I watched people leave and then patron next to those empty seats claim those open seats for friends that didn't show for over 30 minutes and probably longer since I just decided to leave. One friendly bartender saw me in the distance and brought me a drink and I gladly tipped him $50. Too bad because I would've liked to have given my money to the restaurant as well. My favorites include the wedge salad (candied pecans and a port wine reduction omg), the filet with Cabernet sauce (I always ask for extra sauce because it's fantastic), brussels sprouts with bacon jam (amazing), and the Gruyère gratin potatoes (heavenly). The desserts are spectacular too, my favorites are the bananas foster and cherries jubilee, both flambéed table-side and both not commonly found at other places. Their happy hour is also wonderful with great deals on select drinks and food; the pear martini is incredible and for food, I'd recommend the carpaccio, sliders, and tuna wontons. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and a few different rooms. I especially enjoy the room with the fireplace. The bar area is lively and fun with live piano music. I love coming here. read more

The Good: We promptly arrived at our reservation time. First in at 4:30 pm a Saturday. We were promptly seated. We were introduced to a team of two servers who were both nice. Service (front of the house) was amazing. The creamed corn was amazing. The environment was amazing. This place was huge on the inside. The Smoked Old Fashion was nicely presented. I received a complimentary Birthday dessert. The Opportunity: Bread service appeared after our appetizers. The Calamari was too sweet and there were more fried green peppers than Calamari. The Lobster (escargot style) was overcooked. The Lobster Bisque was salty. The Bad: Tried the 16oz Rib Rye Steak. Ordered at Medium Temperature; however all of our main dishes took some time to arrive. My Rib Eye arrived with an underwhelming appearance. Dry, and warm and well done as if it rested too long or something happened back in the kitchen and our order just sat. There was no sear or crust on the steak and had an average wet age flavor. I was asked about my meal and the refired A new steak. This was cooked to temperature, but no amazing beefy flavor and had a small rib cap. The Spinalis is the most flavorful portion and there wasn't much to enjoy. By the time my refired steak arrived all the sides were cold so I ended up getting it boxed to take home. The place is beautiful, not as modern as some of its main steakhouse competitors, but Hyde Park has (from far) the best and freshest seafood I've found in Cleveland (especially the oysters, my god, how we love their oysters), great steaks and delicious sides (the lobster mac and cheese is to die for, but the bacon Brussels sprouts and the Gruyère au grautin potatoes are also soooo good), and my favorite smoked old fashioned in the whole greater Cleveland. We've come back so many times and there has not been a single time where Hyde Park has not excelled both in terms of food and service. Let me tell you about this terrible Hyde Park experience. It was my niece's birthday reservation. Three more than our reservation for 10 decided to come. We asked for more seating - stating we would squeeze in no problem. Tisha, the waitress told us a firm no then went to the manager who gave a stern no - as if we asked for a manager. Tisha was so dry and unwelcoming that my niece's party of 10 decided to leave after ordering drinks - before ordering $1000-1200 worth of food and cocktails. Meanwhile, 3 of us at the spill over table also opted not to eat a full meal. - drinks and appetizers only. Sadly, both tables would have ordered a lot and tipped well, but we were turned off by the lack of warmth from everyone except for the young lady who sat us at our first table. I would not recommend Hyde Park to my hundreds of sorority sisters and colleagues in Greater Cleveland who often share recommendations. This was truly a bad experience. read more

Hyde Park makes my Cleveland work trips so much more enjoyable. The atmosphere is welcoming and old school luxurious. The staff is stellar, whether I'm sitting alone at the bar sipping one of their excellent martinis, or poppin bottles at a table of 12 entertaining clients. The steaks are amazing, with lots of nice cuts and expert preparation. The wine list is also top notch, with a nice range of prices and some deep cuts for the aficionado. If you can make it for happy hour (ends at 6pm) they also have some great specials. The cherry on top? Live piano player if you're lucky enough to be there on a night when he plays. read more

Not too fast and not too slow. Steaks were cooked to perfection. I appreciated the live music as well as the family friendly atmosphere. I would suggest here over capital grille or Red's. My only grievance was that the sides and the fried onions that came with the steak was too greasy for my liking. That being said, someone else might enjoy it. Okay, I worked at a steakhouse for years and understand the challenges with delivering steak. It doesn't arrive hot and juicy. You might have to microwave it which will raise the internal temp and might dry it out. Fine, I get it. BUT. I'm in town for work and don't want to go out for dinner. I want to-go in my hotel room and I don't want to take an uber to pick it up. Enter Hyde Park Prime. They were on GrubHub and the menu looked great. I like my steak mid-rare to medium so ordered my filet mid-rare knowing it might need to be reheated. This plan worked flawlessly. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. I did microwave it for about 20 seconds and it cooked up slightly and was right where I wanted it. It stayed juicy despite being reheated and the seasoning was PERFECT. The mashed potatoes were delicious. I also really appreciated the bread selection provided with a to-go order. The soft pretzel stick was excellent. Hyde Park, thanks for being there in my time of steak need. Maybe next time I'll come get everything fresh and hot, and then I'll need to petition Yelp for a 6th star. read more

The only complaint would be the drink sizes are a bit small and if you order a coke they give you a can...like really? A can? The starter was this amazing bacon appetizer, followed by their always perfect pretzel bread. I ended up getting salmon and my friend got a filet, both cooked perfectly.
