    Happy kitty boys!
    Maeve F.

Big thank you to the Hydrant staff for always providing above and beyond care! For the last few years, this pet hotel has been my go-to boarding facility for whenever I travel. They have always gone above and beyond in taking care of my kitty, Freddie. He's lovingly known as Mr. Orange Personality at home and it's always great to hear that his outgoing nature is just as well-loved by the staff at Hydrant. Recently, I adopted a second kitty, Eddie, who's a little more skittish to strangers. I was worried that he might not adjust well to overnight boarding but we couldn't be happier with the experience! The staff, as always, is incredibly kind and attentive - they took the time to learn Eddie's personality and make sure both my kitties felt comfortable and cared for. The boys came home happy and took a cuddly cat nap!

    Hayes enjoying his staycation

I was recommended to Hydrant by a very close family friend, and I'm so glad I listened. As a first-time dog mom, I was hesitant about leaving Hayes for a trip. After getting a tour, I felt so much more comfortable, and once I saw how much fun my dog was having, all my worries disappeared. The staff is truly amazing. Daisy, in particular, is incredible--she cares so much and makes you feel confident and at ease. The facility itself is spotless, welcoming, and full of positive energy. I loved that I received updates and pictures while I was away, which made the whole experience stress-free. To all the new dog moms out there, this is the place that will put your mind at ease. Hayes will definitely be coming back for play days and for any future trips. They also offer grooming, which was such a great bonus! Thank you to the entire staff for taking such wonderful care of Hayes. Much love!

UPDATE: We just got home and took a look at our cat and she lost a significant amount of weight. She was there from Friday morning to Monday evening, and when I picked her up, I asked the staff if she ate well during the stay or if there were any problems. The lady told me that our cat had trouble eating the first day (Friday) but that she had no problems eating the following days. If this is true, then why did she lose so much weight?? She was supposed to eat three meals a day (kibble and a squeeze tube) like she does at home. I will not be bring my cats back here. I cannot trust what the staff says, and like the other reviews, I feel that they have a strong preference for dogs and cater to their needs over the cats. Smells like urine inside of the building... really strong urine smell mixed with fragrance to cover it up. Last time is wasn't as bad but this time, it was headache inducing. The pet store and vets office doesn't smell this bad, not sure why Hydrant Pet Hotel would. Our pets items came home smelling really bad.

Jojo, the dog that hates other dogs and not sleeping 18 hours a day when her mean humans board her.

We are so grateful for Hydrant and its staff for taking such good care of JoJo, our Australian labradoodle. We have boarded with them multiple times and I can relax on vacation because she is in good hands. Ms. jojo is happiest when she is in her home and with her people but we know Hydrant is the best alternative because of the private room and personalized care. Most recently we boarded her for over a week for our wedding and honeymoon. She had some issues with eating (it happens when one of us is out of town so I was not surprised it happened during boarding) and they were in frequent contact with us and went above and beyond with one on one time and giving her different foods to spark the appetite. Our wedding party erupted in cheers when I got the report that she had eaten some food. We know our dog hates being away from us but we have to get away sometimes and we know Hydrant is the best alternative. And then of course when she was dropped off at my mother in laws (because we were still on our honeymoon) she reported JoJo cried when the caretaker dropped her off . I really don't understand the reviews complaining about no refunds. They lose money if a boarding reservation ends early and that is a price I will happily pay to pick up my dog early if something comes up. Thank you to staff for treating JoJo like one of your own and for the good communication we receive. We looked all over for a facility we felt our dog would be comfortable with and I can promise they provide top notch care (especially for a dog that hates being away from her parents and home.)

Our pups LOVE playing at Hydrant!

Our pups love going to play at hydrant. The staff clearly love the animals. We are very happy with hydrants daycare and boarding services.

This is overdue but the Hydrant Pet Hotel is amazing! I had a last minute cancellation from my dog sitter a week before our trip to Cabo and happy to have found this gem of a place. I 1st spoke to Lyndsey who was so helpful to reassure me how they operate and went in for a tour. Upon arrival, Stacey (manager) gave me a tour and I could see that the staff really loves and takes pride of making sure all pups are happy, looked after, and having fun. My pups Nala and Cloud were happy each time we'd pick them up from day care and after our trip. I will definitely be using the Hydrant Pet Hotel for day care and boarding for future!

I have been a customer of Hydrant since they opened and never had any issues. They even have a picture of my dog on the wall. They have always been very professional. However, recently my wife booked an extended boarding for our pet via their text messaging service which is normal operating procedure with them for services. We were advised and acknowledged an $80 non refundable deposit that was charged to our CC at the time of booking. However when we chose to cancel 48 hrs prior to the reservation they decided to charge the entire amount of $400 with no discount or service credit. The only accommodation they offered was to bathe her but only during the period we booked. They told us their policy is clearly stated on their website even though we booked using their texting service. The reason they explained, is the loss of revenue by not have another booking for the room. Even Four Seasons allows 24 hrs for a standard room!?! This review is not meant to be punitive, only to express our disappointment in what was a valued service relationship. I was raised to believe a customer had value. Especially one from the local community.

I worked at Bark City for an extended period of time and based on my firsthand experience, I cannot…read morerecommend this facility. During busy seasons, the facility often felt severely overcrowded. There were times when around 120 daycare and boarding dogs were being cared for by only 3-4 employees (clients are also not allowed to know how many dogs are currently there). Staff were expected to supervise playgroups, feed dogs, take them outside, clean kennels and yards, administer medications, monitor behavior, and respond to emergencies all at once. It often felt impossible to provide every dog with the level of attention and care they deserved. One of my biggest concerns was medication administration. Some dogs required medications on strict schedules or needed extra time and attention while taking them, but with the workload and staffing levels, it was extremely difficult to consistently give those dogs the individualized care they needed. I also found there to be very little transparency with pet owners. From what I observed, clients generally had no way to see where their dogs were actually staying, even though some boarding dogs remained at the facility for weeks or even months at a time. I believe owners should have more visibility into the environment where their pets are being housed. The daily report cards also declined significantly during my time there. They used to include detailed descriptions of how each dog's day went, but as the number of dogs increased and staffing became more limited, there often wasn't enough time to write meaningful updates. In my experience, many report cards became very minimal, leaving owners with little information about how their dog's stay was actually going. The work environment was also disappointing. In my experience, management frequently spoke to employees in a disrespectful and demeaning manner. Staff members' decisions were often questioned or undermined, and there were times when management yelled at employees. Regardless of someone's position, I don't believe anyone deserves to be spoken to that way. I also observed the yards not being deep cleaned as often as they should have been due to limited staffing and time. I frequently noticed urine, feces, and bacterial buildup around sections of the turf and fencing. I was also concerned by what I viewed as a lack of emergency preparedness if every dog needed to be kenneled at the same time. I personally witnessed situations where health concerns, including vomiting and bloody diarrhea, were documented internally but were not always consistently communicated to pet owners before pickup. In some cases, owners only learned about these issues after contacting the facility themselves. After my employment ended, I was informed by former coworkers that the facility began accepting more unspayed and unneutered dogs into daycare. Because I was no longer employed there, I cannot personally verify the current policy. However, I was told that some of these dogs were being housed separately rather than participating in normal daycare activities, and that pet owners were not always clearly informed of this arrangement. If true, I believe clients should be fully informed about where their dogs are staying and what activities they are or are not participating in so they can make informed decisions about their pet's care. This review reflects my personal experience working at Bark City. I sincerely hope the business improves its staffing, communication with clients, workplace culture, transparency, and overall standards of care because the dogs, employees, and pet owners all deserve better.
