I cannot believe anyone would give this company negative reviews! We had one- JUST ONE negative experience with a new employee there, I called the office to inform them of his unprofessional behavior- after much discussion with my husband, being business owners ourselves, we decided they should know that this employee was hitting up Hydrex customers for his own side work. Hydrex investigated the situation, NEVER making me feel uncomfortable, then promptly fired this slimy guy, and waived the charge for that month's visit. Our favorite tech, Larry, had retired and this new dude must have been his replacement. Our NEW FAVORITE TECH is JOSH!!! I just love him! He knows what he's talking about, he goes the extra mile every visit. I saved a dead bug (don't laugh, it was cool looking) for him, he very politely explained to me that is was a Jerusalem Beetle, told me where it lived, what it does to my yard, and it's bite hurts like the devil- not poisonous. We've recommended this company to every one that asks with the absolute knowledge that they won't be let down. Hydrex has been our Pest Control GO-To for at least 10 years. In fact, our now retired Tech was known as "Uncle Larry". Now my kids are adults with their own homes, and are Hydrex customers as well. I can safely say for them, they are very happy with Josh and Hydrex as well! I read in a review that the lady in the office was rude. Very hard to believe. She's the sweetest lady ever! A few years ago, we had to make budget cuts around here, everyone suffered in 2007! I called to cancel my service, she helped me find a better plan that was more affordable, she even spaced out my payments so I could stay on my budget! Thank you Hydrex, and thank you Josh! We chose Hydrex because (1) we didn't want to have our house tented, (2) we wanted to minimize harmful chemicals in our living areas, and (3) we didn't want to move out of our home, along with our cat, for days. Hydrex has been around for a long time, and we felt they would have gone under had they not been satisfactory for most of their customers. We read the Yelp reviews (a few not so good, but primarily good), and we checked their license with the California Structural Pest Control Board. Our inspector, Syd, checked over our home and premises, and explained the process to my husband. Syd and his team of (obvious) professionals showed up at the appointed time and appointed day. The first thing they did was to double-check our preparations by going through the house and seeing that all the necessary chip-based electronics were unplugged. To me, that was the first sign that these guys knew what they were doing and cared that our home was ready for their treatment. Everyone was efficient, courteous, and helpful. Our allotted time was from 9 until 2, but Syd said he expected they would be through an hour or so sooner. Indeed they were! They notified us that we could come back in. It was only a minor inconvenience that we needed to unplug and leave, and we were back to normal living by 2:30 that afternoon - including plugging in TVs, computers, etc., and making sure they operated the same as they did before the treatment. Whether or not the treatment was successful is, of course, yet to be seen, but Hydrex guarantees their work for two years. We feel confident they will live up to their guarantee and treat again if we spot further termite evidence within that period of time. . read more

I was referred to this company from a friend of mine whom, like me, had been struggling with the local rat problem for some time. I was hesitant at first, as the last pest control company I contracted on my home essentially just provided a seemingly endless supply of dead rats pulled from my attic and from the area under the house. These guys did it differently. From start to finish, they addressed what I now know was the real problem: the dozens of tiny, seemingly impossible to access entry points where the rats came and went in and out of my home. The inspector, Jarod, was incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything to me in detail as far as what needed to be done, where the problem was, how long it would take to do the work and a reasonable outlook of what to expect over the coming weeks. All pricing was up front, with no hidden fees or surprises. Our technician, Brendan, was polite and optimistic as he crawled into the deepest, darkest, most horrifying areas of our home and did the work that nobody living here would have ever had the grit or the know-how to do themselves. It has been months since I have had to endure the sounds of mysterious intruders in my walls and above my head whilst I tried to sleep, and the whole mission was accomplished incredibly humanely: especially compared to the last company that was here. They even sanitized the nasty areas when the work was done. Oh, and did I mentioned they guaranteed it FOR LIFE? If you are losing sleep because of vermin in your home, save the headache, call this company and end the nightmare once and for all. You will only wish you had done it sooner. read more

Oh no! its crooked Clinton. Lying Polski, whore house Harry, the lady on the phone sounded like John B., Don't forget Paul Ryan the spooks person, and any one who believes the Hydrex pest control is honest (just like Iran). After 3+ years of having them deal with our uninvited guest. First we found them in the master bath. They came in and treated with the electrical gun. The patch job wasn't good. I can still see them today. Not one week later we found droppings on the outside of the house. They have treated the same area every 3 months. Then we found them in the front of the house, then the other side of the house. Yes they treated each area each time we found the droppings. The latest time I had a family emergency and missed the appointment. I re scheduled and the time was set at (10:00 am to 12 pm) I was at home at 9:30 only to find that they had been here early. So we left a message to find out what happened. It took us calling them to find that they were very unprofessional. My husband even talked to the manager and was told that an inspector would be out in about 6 weeks. My husband said Good-bye and hung up. The reason we called is because we found termite droppings in 3 more places. I wonder just how long they want us to hold our breath. They were supposed to inspect the house every year, They only went under the house for the first inspection. WE STILL HAVE TERMITES WHERE THEY HAVE TREATED. read more

Josh did an excellent job on the annual termite inspection. He was conscientious as he proceeded with the task at hand and even made sure the attic crawl space cover was clean and free of fingerprints. Unfortunately for me, he found subterranean termites in the crawl space under the house. Hydrex did the previous whole area eradication in 2012 which is stated to last 7 to 8 years. My present contract does cover spot treatment but I opted for the whole area approach so that I do not need to worry about those perky termites moving around. Darian and Danny came the following Wednesday to apply the needed chemicals. Both men were friendly, helpful, informative, and were very careful of my surrounding plants and property. Home upkeep can be expensive but one must stay on top of these issues. This service is not as much as it would cost to repair major damage caused by tiny critters. We returned to San Diego home 5 years ago. We found many non-paying guests in the form of rodents, bees, roaches, ants, and fleas. We called Hydrex, and Steve was assigned to our dilemma. Our pets are allergic to fleas, and therefore we need effective, reliable, dependable service. Steve provides that service and goes a step beyond. He is sure to call to make sure service does not interfere with other activities at home and therefore provides us the notice to collect our pets in the house while he performs the Hydrex application. I've been getting the annual termite inspection warranty service from Hydrex for 10 years. Tom has been doing the inspection for the last 3 years. I always look forward to seeing him because he is very efficient and thorough. Not only does he check inside and out for evidence of termites but he points out water leakage and wood structure problems (wood rot, fungus) around the house. These problems create soft wood, which makes it easier for termites to enter. Thanks to Tom, I've been able to get these identified areas repaired. I've had a number of spot treatments done for termites over the years. Sometimes it takes multiple treatments at a location, but the last inspection found no evidence of termites. I would say the periodic spot treatments have avoided termites getting out of hand and eliminated the need for tenting during this period. read more

He is knowledgeable, dependable, customer focused, and very conscientious. You would be hard pressed to find a better pest control technician than Tom'O. Over the past 15 years with Hydrex I have had three pest control technicians service our home and each one has been outstanding. This high degree of quality service, over an extended period of time, doesn't happen by accident. It requires high quality managers, a competent administrative staff and knowledgeable service technicians, all of whom are customer oriented. aaron came to my place in carlsbad and did a termite inspection when he was there he did a very good job. he was on time and was very nice and did a very thuro job he looked inside and out and when i thought he was done he told me he needed to look in the atic which i never knew was part of the inspection, but he climbed up in the atic and was in there for a while which must of been hot as hell. when he came down he said he found some termites and would be able to treat today so he got some equitment and WENT BACK UP INTO THE ATIC. when Aaron was done with his inspection he came to me and explained all my problems and then walked around the house and showed me the problem and issues of concern If i ever need another inspection i will call aaron for the job read more

I had my yearly termite inspection today. I have been on this service for many years with Hydrex. I wanted to post this to let others know what a wonderful, thorough job Bruno did with today's inspection. He called about 15 minutes before he arrived. He was extremely polite and explained very clearly what he found, including preventative measures I could take to keep rodents and insects out of my attic due to broken vent screens. Hydrex should feel very proud to have such an excellent employee working for their company. He in no way asked me for a review. I told him that I wanted to let the company know what a thorough job he did. He really understands the business of termites, bugs and rodents. I write not about pests but about repair of wood, whether pest ridden or dry-rot or whatever. We had a small job that some contactors would not bother with, but more than some handymen want to tackle. Hydrex has a regular service for such jobs. They visited, made an estimate, asked 10% down, scheduled an appointment a couple of weeks out. Claudio and Abel arrived exactly at the beginning of the time slot, bought the board and paint to match the old, removed the old and installed the new, cleaned up thoroughly, and finished in three hours, start to finish. Exactly what we wanted for that job. I thought the price was reasonable, but I did not make an exhaustive comparison. We had enough trouble just thinking who would do that job. read more

We have been Hydrex customers for 20 years. Our first problem was with dry-wood termites way back in 1995 when we had electro gun service performed. Then in 2003 we had subterranean termites treated in another area but have not had any additional problems since with our yearly inspections. Currently Damon is taking care of any critters outside our home here in Poway that we don't want getting out of control. We have the quarterly service with pre-scheduled appointments but Damon is very flexible with his schedule to accommodate ours. Hydrex has been inspecting and treating our home since 1996, under contract to our HOA. Their services have been knowledgeable and professional. The technician who normally comes is Gary, and we appreciate his consideration and diligence very much. As far as effectiveness is concerned, I can only say that regular inspection and treatment has helped avoid the need for tenting, but that is the nature of termites in San Diego--need to keep after them regularly! Pepe did the inspection and provided us with a complete report. My father died last year. He left me his Vietnam War area combat boots. I now wear them when I ride my Harley. Well my mother hired Hydrex Pest Control to treat our house for termites last Wednesday(6/8/2016). While Hydrex had the house to themselves one of their employees stole my dead father's boots. This Hydrex employee also riffled through my mother's pill bottles and messed around with her bed. Hmm... I wonder what he was looking for? We paid $4000 for their pest control service. My husband and I found out about Hydrex from prior homeowners, so we continue'd with their service. Every year they inspected, wink wink ..noted damage and supposedly treated. We paid Hydrex est. $350 yearly for 10 years of owning home. Now we go to sell our home and guess what?? There's termite damage. All this crap and they want $5000 to fix. WTF, your job was to treat and prevent this crap. We should have been notified with a call or follow up to their inspection. We would have taken care of problem. Had a cockroach problem at my parents house. Another company had been battling them (kind of) for 8 months, and the roaches were as bad as ever. These guys handled the whole thing within two weeks. THEY. HANDLED. IT. The technician was super low pressure as well, and informed me I could either do a one-time service, or commit to a regular maintenance schedule. I chose the maintenance.
