I'd say 3 stars for the price of what you get but the ladies serving it up were nice and patient so I'll add a star for service - good job ladies!. We ordered an affogato, fruit smoothie and a milk shake. After the total we thought next time we are going to Gunther's. The only reason we stopped by was just to walk around DoCo a bit - realized we were not really missing out on anything by not visiting. There are a a lot of restaurants around though. So next time we will come with a better plan... but maybe not ice cream.
Who knew Häagen-Dazs had a store front shop to visit? I've patronized this ice cream shop a few times since it opened years ago. It is located right across from the Golden 1 Center next to Chipotle. It was a warm evening, and my friend and I were leaving the movie theater. We took the escalator down to the first floor and walked over. Seeing enlarged photos of this tasty treat all over the walls, I knew what I had to order; a Dazzler Sundae which is layered ice cream and toppings in a cup. I chose the Banana Split Dazzler and my friend chose the NY Strawberry Cheesecake Dazzler. Two employees, one was the owner and the other a young lady. My friends dazzler looked and tasted great! Mine was lacking slightly but it was still tasty. I think next time I'll just stick to a double scoop of Butter Pecan or Cookies & Cream. Total was $23 for two Dazzler Sundae's. This ice cream shop is clean, convenient, with friendly service and a perfect place to get a cool treat to share with your loved ones this summer.

There was a small line and a few behind us as well, maybe from the concert. I'm sure they're always a little busy. It was quiet, but open and welcoming inside.

The store is well kept and their doors are often open which makes the space feel inviting. I recently visited after a shopping spree at Macy's, and it was my partner's first time. Häagan-Dazs can easily be found in grocery stores; however, this is the only brick and mortar in the greater Sacramento area with the next closest over 50 miles away. Service is consistently good, and they provide samples upon request. White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle is one of their most popular flavors, and I can see why! I ordered a White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Milkshake and my partner ordered the Banana Split. You can order up to three ice cream flavors for the split, and it's generously loaded with toppings. He loved it! The milkshake was thick, which I personally like, but the straws are so flimsy that it's impossible to enjoy. I switched out the straw when I got home and recommend sticking to their ice cream if you're planning to dine in.

We stopped by before the Kings - Warriors game. The store is clean and modern. The service friendly and efficient. The ice cream is fresh, rich, and smooth. We only got single scoops because it's all you the goodness you need.
Dulce de Leche Ice Cream - 9/10 Very creamy with nice streaks and pockets of dulce de leche. Rich caramel taste throughout without being overpowering. Strawberry Ice Cream - 5.5/10 Nice and creamy with a slight artificial strawberry taste throughout. The strawberry chunks taste like frozen strawberry. Definitely a nice date spot!
I am glad that there is a Haagen Dazs at the DOCO. We stopped in for ice cream on a hot day. The strawberry cheesecake ice cream was delicious. My boys enjoyed their chocolate ice creams.
I got a mango sorbet here. The only thing vegan they had was the fruit sorbet. Sorbet is just fine yet would love if Haagen-Dazs stepped up there game and put out some vegan ice cream. It is 2023 and lots of places offer vegan now so would be great if they take this in to consideration. If they add some vegan ice cream would be back otherwise would look elsewhere.

Clean. Service was fast. Ice cream is always delicious at Haagen-Dazs. This is your typical spot. Love the easy location. This was not our first time here and won't be our last.
Häagen-Dazs is my absolute favorite ice cream and I was craving some the other day so I stopped in here. In my opinion, you can't really go wrong with any of their flavors, so I always try to choose something I've never tried before. On my last visit I ordered two scoops of their caramel cone flavor in a cup. Normally I get my ice cream on a cone, but because of the flavor I chose, I thought that might be a little redundant. It was rich, creamy and delicious. Unique and packed with flavor as always. It had just the right amount of caramel flavor accompanied by the crunch of the little chocolate covered cone pieces mixed throughout. It was everything that I was hoping for. The shop at this location is clean and service is friendly. It's a great place to grab a treat while walking around the DOCO area. It can be a little tough in this economy to pay the price of a pint or even gallon in the store just to get two scoops at a shop, but the quality here keeps me coming back. This is definitely a premium priced indulgence but it's totally worth every penny! read more
Great location for travelers and visitors! Service was spotty. While efficient, nobody was friendly. Everyone looked so bored and unhappy to be working... Oh well. We went in expecting to get something yummy, not to make friends. But still, I wish there was at least a friendly greeting or a smile. I felt so pins and needles that I couldn't ask to try anything. And the price is quite up there - and it's not like it's a coffee shop with seating; just a "get your treat and enjoy it outside" kind of a vibe. So I think friendly service should be included with the vibes and convenience. Thankfully, Haagen-Dazs is Haagen-Dazs. Delicious firm ice cream, perfect for eating and walking down DOCO. read more
A coworker was craving something sweet so we decided to grab some ice cream here. I've walked by this Haagen Dazs when going to other food spots around DOCO but never stopped by for a sweet treat here until now. Every time I walk by, I notice the Salted Brown Butter Cookie sundae poster that they have up on the front of the store. I keep telling myself that I want to try it one of these days and so I finally did! I ended up ordering it as a milkshake rather than a sundae. The milkshake was a good texture and not too thick to where you're not able to sip on it. I really liked the mix of the chocolate chips and the cookie dough bits. It was definitely a good sweet mid-day treat from a long work morning and help push me to finish the rest of my work day strong! read more

I love Haagen Dazs so I was over the moon to find out we had a location in downtown Sacramento. I stopped by and was immediately greeted by the associate at the counter. He gave me a sample of the dulce de leche ice cream. It was really good so I decided to get it in a sundae. Talk about heaven in a cup. I got a large which was about $10 plus tax. It was worth every penny!! So delicious. Inside there are tables if you want to enjoy your sweet treat in an air conditioned environment. There is also seating located outside if you want to enjoy the nice weather. read more

The location could not be better. It's inside of DOCO in a very walkable area. Lots of people walking around and it feels like a real city center. The line was rather long when I went (Saturday evening) but the staff was friendly and helped recommend what I should get. I have never had Häagen before, the store ice cream nor from a full establishment ice like this. and my experience left me impressed. The flavor it out of this world. You will be left wanting more once you finish your scoop(s). It is expensive ($$) but the flavor completely returns your investment. I will be returning for sure. I would strongly recommend anyone in the area who has a sweat tooth to try this place if you haven't already. TLDR/Bottom Line: spectacular ice cream in an awesome location. read more

Considering that my inner sweet tooth comes out every once in awhile, I would have to say that Häagen-Dazs is the cream of the crop when it comes to delicious flavored ice cream. As far back as I can remember, my eyes popped out of my head every time my parents brought home a pint of their signature ice cream to enjoy for dessert. This takes me on a journey to downtown Sacramento at DOCO (Downtown Commons) where my lady and I had the opportunity to indulge in a late night dessert. As far as the location, this place is not hard to miss as it is located on the bottom floor of the beautiful outdoor plaza. They do, however have limited hours only being open from 10am to 9pm Mon-Sat and 11am-8pm. However, if there is a major event going on at nearby Golden 1 Center such as a Sacramento Kings game and/or concert, they do extend their hours of operation. I would definitely call first to make sure. My lady and I arrived around 9:50pm on the evening of Saturday 2/1/2020. Much to our surprise, they were open for business as the Kings played a home game that same night. Keep in mind, this place is very small with no available seating on the inside. There are only a couple of outdoor tables and chairs so it's best to take your delectable desserts and walk to a place where there are nearby seating areas. Since we only wanted a small cup of their signature ice cream, we decided on splitting one scoop of their strawberry. This place ain't cheap by no means, $5.00 for one scoop where you can buy a pint at the store for half the price and get 10 times more. But it's all about the experience of visiting a brick-and-mortar Häagen-Dazs. In addition to their signature ice creams (available in cup or cone), they have a nice selection of smoothies, shakes, and other treats. Overall, this Häagen-Dazs location is a decent ice cream shoppe. Excellent service, great ambiance, and amazing tasting ice creams. My rating, an above average 4-stars. read more
Häagen-Dazs ice-cream is one of the best you can have. Even the grocery store variety is top notch. The ice-cream at this location is smooth and packed with delicious flavors. If you want ice-cream, there really isn't much better than Häagen-Dazs - it truly is a delicious treat. The bourbon vanilla ice-cream was bourbon-tastic. The bourbon taste filled every spoonful. Some might think it is too much (and I can see why), but if you are looking for strong flavor, it is here. The peanut butter banana chip is the same. You get very strong, but tasteful peanut butter and banana flavors. It was divine! Though I love ice-cream, I can never eat too much of it. Their small size is just about all the ice-cream I would want... however... it is PRICEY! It was about seven dollars for two smallish scoops of each ice-cream flavor. So this place isn't what you're looking for if you are on a budget. I'd also mention that the service I had was just middling. For a premium shoppe in a great location, I'd expect top tier service with a smile. It turned out to be less enthusiastic than your run of the mill ice cream places. I'd happily come back here time and time again for the fabulous ice-cream. I'd say it's good enough to overlook some of the shortcomings of the store. read more
I love Haagen Dazs ice cream!! They are just kinda pricey lol. The worker was friendly & adorable. I got the aloha mango smoothie. I didn't really read what was inside so my fault but the smoothie is just okay. I really like that the worker asked me if I wanted dairy or non dairy! Because I got non dairy, sadly I am recently lactose intolerant :(. But anyways my coworker really enjoyed his ice cream! read more

I hardly give 2 star reviews but i just can't shake it. I've tried this place many times and each time the service doesn't live up to the location. This particular time ( as i try to give chances) myself, my 2 children and fiancé walk in and patiently wait our turn. The person who helped us seemed as if we were interrupting her day. I didn't let her vibe bother us as i wanted to be able to just enjoy an evening out with ice cream. Well i had a cone, son had a kiddie scoop of strawberry with sprinkled and honey of a sundae. The pistachio waffle cone was yumm. Can't mess that up. Honeys sundae a disaster. Who puts globs of fudge, caramel and strawberry syrup on one scoop of ice cream then repeats on the layer second scoop. On top of over flowing basically melted whip that was falling from the cup as she finished it. Ended up throwing it away as it was hard to even taste the ice cream. Son did not like his ice cream and we never i mean NEVER expect anything for free! Being son literally had one bite and wanted to switch out to vanilla i had honey ask to change it. The gal that made the ice cream looked annoyed. While the gal that we asked to exchanged was confused. Luckily there was a gentleman that understood and said go ahead and switch it as there was barely any eaten and they just had to make sure we tossed the old one. We had no problem doing that. As we had already wasted money on the tossed sundae i appreciated the guy for allowing a replacement for the kiddie scoop. Another issue is paying with card the system automatically prompt for a tip. And it assumed the amount. I didn't want to tip the gal for her lackluster service but i did anyway. I wish i didn't! They get 2 stars just for their ice cream and the guy that allowed a replacement scoop. I doubt we will be back here. I've tried too many times to like this overpriced place that serves sucky service. read more

We love Haagen-Dazs and got very excited when we found this place in Golden 1 area. We walked in and found that there wasn't enough seating inside. We found a table with only one chair, so asked the server if we could have another chair. We saw a chair (the same wooden chair as the ones for customers) behind the counter, so we thought he would bring it out for us. But he just told us to go get a chair from outside. I ordered banana split, but there was no banana in it. Very disappointed. I would go back there again if I'm near there. It was not an amazing place, the service and quality weren't great. But Haagen-Dazs ice cream is good. read more

Just steps from Golden 1 in the heart of the DOCO plaza sits Haagen-Dazs - a perfect excuse to satisfy your sweet tooth, especially during hot summer months! While I prefer to support something more local like Devil May Care a block away, this is a great choice for an ice cream on the go that you can then enjoy while sitting in the plaza. I have been suffering from sort of an ice cream addiction lately and had to stop in to see what they offer. I have been by here so many times and never pulled the trigger in terms of stepping through the door. It's a pleasant, spacious shop with many flavors to choose from and the well-known brand favorites. I went with the irresistible Belgian chocolate and it was everything I wanted. That rich chocolaty flavor and the creaminess...divine is the best word to describe it. I'm going to return soon for that bourbon-vanilla. The prices aren't the cheapest but it is considered "fancy" ice cream. Take that into account, along with just general higher prices in DOCO, and you will know what you're getting! read more

Häagen-Dazs has great ice cream and great sundae options. I think this shop is cute and easy enough to get to if you're already walking around by Golden1 Arena. However, I have never had a quick experience here. I've only been here before or after an event and there's only 1 person working. So a line of 10 people takes over 20 mins just to get ice cream. Employees have been nice, but not exactly friendly or inviting. I'd go back if I'm not in a hurry because the sundaes rock. read more

I got the Dulce de Leche here. Ice cream + caramel + thinly sliced bananas. Service was fast. Location clean. Great quality. Small was $8. It was so very good - I'll definitely be paying another mini fortune for more goodies here soon! read more
