It's cleaner, nicer, and feels more welcoming as soon as you walk in. The atmosphere alone makes it a much more enjoyable place to eat. The service was also a big improvement. The staff here were friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. It felt like they actually cared about the customers and wanted you to have a good experience. What surprised me the most was the food. It's the exact same menu as the original location, but somehow it tasted better here. Everything came out fresh, hot, and really well prepared. I'll be honest, I had a pretty bad experience at the original location before, which made me hesitant to try this one. But I'm really glad I did because it completely changed my opinion. At this point, I may never go back to the original location again--but I will definitely be coming back to this one. Highly recommend giving this location a try.

We were looking for a diner or local café with good food and, given its rating on Yelp, we decided…read moreto try this place. The menu options are huge in this diner and I really wasn't sure quite what to expect. Good news was our welcoming waitress named Candyce who was very friendly, answered questions and made suggestions. Mr. Picky has a sweet tooth and wanted to order just pancakes, but I bullied him into ordering one of their FIT omelettes (shrimp and avocado) and then they very kindly substituted two pancakes for the side of fruit. I was eyeballing the Reuben on the menu and when I asked the waitress to name her favorites, that was one of them and so I went ahead and ordered it with fried zucchini and onion rings. The latter two fried things we both liked, the Reuben was just average, but the omelette was loaded with mushrooms and onions which helped make it taste good (the kitchen did a good job on that omelette to put lots of stuff on it and send it to the table looking substantial and tasty). As they close at 3 PM, they don't have desserts at this particular location, and so we shared the Strawberry cheesecake pancakes to finish the meal. Overall, this is not a "4.7" level restaurant but that was on only 12 reviews. I might stop in again if I was running down Kuykendahl and needed a quick bite, but the good news was the price. We got all that food for $39.20 plus tip, a really great deal, and our waitress was great!

If a place has french fries, he's in. And I'd heard that Tony's was one of the best places to grab a burger in the area, so everybody wins here. I had the Juicy Tony and it was a solid burger. It's noted on the menu that is must be served medium rare, no exceptions - that's my preferred temperature anyway, so it was perfect for me. It was indeed juicy and tender. The cajun fries were a nice pairing. We enjoyed our experience overall. Was it a top notch, amazing burger? I wouldn't go that far, but it did its job and I'm happy we came and tried it out.

At least not enjoy spending it. But with prices these days getting way out of hand what can you do. I got the rattlesnake because I saw it touted as their award winning burger. Not sure from where the award came. But this and their trash can tacos had the emblem next to it. You also get a veggie pack with your to-go burger which has chopped lettuce, pickles, raw onions and 2 slices of tomatoes. That's nice so you don't have to put on the required latex gloves to use their veggie bar to get these yourselves. It's in a separate bag. I thought this was the buger at first and was secretly getting a bit concerned when I saw the cook toss it onto the counter like a bean bag. The cashier was super nice. He offered me water as I waited. They had another guy working in the back cooking the food. You also get a thimble of ketchup in your Togo bag along with a packet of mustard and mayo. The bun was a little burnt. And I couldn't taste any of the mixed in jalapeños. Also I kinda wish they had whole lettuce rather than chopped just because it kept falling out of the burger. But other than these issues the burger was pretty tasty. Definitely not a McDonald's burger like one person posted. But also not the best burger ever as many other posters swear by. Definitely glad I went. But don't know if I'd be willing to spend another $20 on one of their Burgers either. They're closed on Sundays according to Google maps which is old school nice to see.

The staff is really friendly and there is usually no wait on weekdays, but they recently updated the menu with significantly higher prices. As far as pricing for breakfast goes, it's now on the high side for a weekday "non-brunch" experience. Along with my food, I typically order a soft drink but don't even finish half - and greater than $4for a few sips of Diet Coke -- ugh. Probably going to pass on weekday visits now.

Appropriately named 'The Breakfast Place', the restaurant is serving up delicious, filling, and cheap food. We have come here quite a few times when visiting family and always go out of our way to stop by. The setting is quant and cozy and the service is downright fantastic. Every time you enter you are greeted with a big smile and beaming attitude that make you feel like you're a long lost family member or you just returned a wallet with a thousand bucks in it. The menu is pretty straightforward and standard with a few country breakfast options sprinkled in. We ordered pretty quick and got our food before we even had a chance to get hungry. We got the country fried steak with eggs, white toast and hash browns plus an order of the big stack pancakes with bacon. The pancakes are good, better than chain breakfast spots, and the bacon is good as well. The country fried steak was delicious, although a bit tough in a few spots with a delicious country gravy on top. The toast, hash browns, and eggs were also good. We've ordered a lot of other dishes from here in the past but don't have photos of them unfortunately, but they were certainly good enough to have us coming back. We ordered some coffee and in a testament to the service never made it past halfway drank, not once. Look, the food here is pretty good. We see a lot of reviews here ragging on the food and let's be very honest, if you're coming here looking to find out the reason why your 7th grade boyfriend dumped you, you're not gonna find it and you look pretty dumb for expecting to. This is a straight up mom and pop southern diner, a good one at that. The prices are cheap (or maybe we're just from Austin), the service is good, and the workers truly seem to care. For the value it offers, alongside the food and service, we highly recommend stopping by The Breakfast Place. Also, if you're complaining about egg prices (see reviews below) maybe read a book or turn on the news and see what's going on in the world.
