3 Build Your Own Poke Bowls
    TK N.

We ordered the build your own pole bowls. The food was good. The service was great. The establishment is small but has indoor seating.

    Menu
    North S.

Sushi platter A: Nigiri: salmon and tuna nigiri were huge. They give you fat slab of fish on top of a big ball of rice, looks small maybe but you'll be chewing it for a while. The raw fish taste does get through a bit but maybe cause I forgot to dip wasabi. Smooth texture an enjoyable nigiri Other rolls, were all great, I just came because I like sushi, this hit the spot. One had the crunch, the other had the avocado flavor, and the other had raw fish. Thats what I remember them by. Wasabi: they give you a lot of wasabi, and a lot of soy sauce but on a small plate (if you order for here) and so much that the soysauce couldnt be fully poured or else it'd overflow. So the mixture was a slush wasabi soy sauce. Wasabi flavor, all wasabis are different, this restaurant's wasabi was pungent in the beginning and quickly dies off. I'd say this is a milder wasabi compared to others but still stronger than the cheap wasabi. Service: despite having seen multiple cashiers from my multiple visits. One person does come up often. Its the lady, i think shes the main person that talks to the customer in the morning (cant speak for night). She's the type to not care too much but if you ask her for something, she'd kindly do it. Ex/story: i asked her for a takeout box, hoping she'd see my table and give me more than just a takeout box, and she took the closest one to her and while handed to me, asked, do you need a bigger one? I said yeah. So she put it back and went to the back to get a "bigger" one. At first glance it looked bigger so I said yeah and took it. Closer look, it was a longer oke but thinner one. But I already committed so I tried to fit everything in and luckily it worked out. So I didnt even get a bag so I went back to ask for everything else I reasonably needed, bag and chopsticks. So she gave that to me. Thats it, simple story. I kinda wanted wasabi and soy sauce too but didnt want to make it harder on her. To mention my previous review, I said it felt more like a to go place but this time when I ordered a sushi platter the guy asked to go or for here and sure enough when he gave me for here, it was a plate and everything. Idk if its cause the platter or cause different server

so we did DoorDash tonight like we do on Friday nights and randomly picked this place because I was craving Thai food and I have to say they did not disappoint. I ordered the crab cream cheese wontons which actually had crab in them, surprisingly and I know it's not real crab but still wherever you go you get like cream cheese. No, these were delicious. Real Fake crab delicious. we also got the dumpling soup which my sweet SO devoured and said it was the perfect comfort food for tonight. I got an order of pad Thai with the chicken and an order of the Panang curry with the white rice. I'm including pictures of everything, but I will say overall 10 out of 10 they did great I've never been there before. Didn't even know existed. They're down by the college so check them out anyway kudos to y'all thank you. well done and I will definitely come back oh and I have to say really fast. The vegetables in the Panang were like pretty sure they're definitely not frozen because they tasted so good. The eggplant the peppers the broccoli oh my God so good anyway please check them out please please please check them out, they were fabulous. I'm gonna have to go in there in person one of these days.

decent poke! not bad. Whenever I'm in town, I'll order the poke from here whenever I'm craving it. Service is fast. Inside is chill.

Top pick here would be the yummy/healthy Poke Bowls and Sashimi! I feel like the curry, while still good , is subpar compared to other places in town, and the noodle dishes can be hit or miss. Great crab wonton appetizer! I go here very often and am usually very satisfied, only once or twice over the course of 3+ years have I gotten something that wasn't super fresh. Can dine in or take out , available on DoorDash and Uber eats - they often offer coupons on the delivery sites which is always a win for me!

I ordered the coconut curry soup and a Chico roll. The soup itself was very good, but the beef was really tough. Maybe I should have gotten another type of meat. My coworker said the beef in his pad thai was pretty tough too. The Chico roll was average. If I lived in Chico, I would give this place another shot and perhaps try a poke bowl.

    pad thai (half chicken/tofu)

The restaurant is small with only a few tables. It's well-kept and cozy. Their menu is HUGE, but their most popular options seem to be poke and Thai classic dishes. I ordered a Pad Thai with half chicken and half tofu. It's a generous portion - good enough for 2 meals for me. Coming from SoCal, I would say that this is pretty authentic. I like that they have the traditional chili oil on the side and added the cucumber slices. | t l ; d r | No frills dining. Good bang for your buck, and lots of Japanese and Thai options!

3 stars for Seafood Pad Thai The pad Thai was large for $6.50, however it didn't taste like pad Thai. The noodles were too soft for my liking and it was missing the kick that's often with Pad Thai. The seafood used was calamari and shrimp, which they were pretty generous with. 4.5 stars for the poke bowl This is the most authentic poke bowl I've had in Chico. Growing up in the bay area has spoiled me a lot but this is the best I've come across so far. The fish is fresh and has a nice bite to it. They also used sushi rice which is a first I've had here in Chico, but it definitely makes it stand out from other places since I like the slight vinegar taste. They were pretty generous with their protein scoops and the price is fair for the food you get. Also if you buy 5 bowls, you get the sixth one free if you download their app Perka, which is a great deal. 4.5 stars for service They were a bit slow with service, especially since they're new in town and still figuring out the system. However they are very nice and were genuinely trying their best to make it a great experience for you. They explained everything well from their menu to the app they use for their store. Overall, I will be coming again to try other things on their menu. I think this is the first Asian place in Chico I can genuinely say I like.

A co-worker had ordered from here last week and I was excited to share lunch with her to give this place a try. We ordered through DoorDash and it arrived quick and the food looked awesome. We had the Black & White Roll, Chico Roll & Pad Thai. Everything was delicious. The sushi was fresh and full of flavor, which to me are the most important things! I will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Thank you guys!

I reeeeeally wanted to like this place and after many attempts to eat here (and finding them…read moreclosed), I FINALLY discovered them open during the Downtown Christmas Preview. I was beyond excited to try the spicy katsu chicken sando (I literally attempted eating here for 2 months but kept missing their open hours. They are VERY limited). The pricing I was charged was a bit more than what was on their menu, which I hadn't noticed until after the fact. :-/ When the sandwich arrived it was not at all what expected. I looked up the sandwich months ago and it appeared to be a juicy chicken breast between sliced cabbage on thick, fluffy bread. What I got was some beat up, flattened GREEEEEEASY gummy chicken that wasn't the least bit appetizing. It reminded me of frog legs and I was pretty much grossed out after the 2nd bite. The bread was exactly the same as Astesano Bakery Bread and didn't seem "home made" as their menu states. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't (home made) but it sure seemed like the same bread I buy at Safeway. Needless to say I was BEYOND bummed out. I guess that's partially my fault though, I mean... I saw a picture they used to have posted on their menu (it's no longer there) and had expectations that it was going to be exactly the same, which it most certainly was NOT. If I could sum it up in 2 words: Gummy & Greasy. Yuck. The best part was the cabbage so, that's what I ate and ditched the rest of the "sandwich" to the trash. So yeah, $13 + tip for some cabbage. Awesome. With that said, I don't recommend this place for the Sando's but! I may return for the egg rolls. They look good in the pictures however since I got 100% duped this time around, I think I'll ask if anybody I personally know has tried the egg rolls first before I spend any more money here. I do like their outdoor dining and if they could move the ginormous trash bins away from the outside dining tables it would be a great place to dine (who wants to eat next to trash cans??) I'll end on a positive note and say, I did like that they have an option of indoor or outdoor dining, if they move the trash cans, that would be my preferred place to eat.

Such a lovely and unique spot that adds to the fun of downtown Chico. I just poked my head in to…read morecheck it out today and was totally charmed - it's not Japanese, but the menu items, instant ramen bar and awesome selection of Asian soft drinks and canned cocktails remind me of the convenience stores in Japan that I miss so much. Today I just tried the Hmong sausage and Thai tea. The lady working was sweet and let me sample the tea to test its sweetness. I think it's spot-on. The sausage is perfectly juicy, spicy and savory. It's rich, flavorful, and reminds me of the holidays.
