I highly recommend IFix Appliances (esp. technician Favio). They were the 2nd appliance repair company we called to fix our refrigerator. The first company said the problem was the compressor. It's been a week and I still haven't received their quote or any reply to my email and voicemail. But they sure charged me for the call. IFix came, pulled the fridge out from the wall and diagnosed the actual problem - a relay switch that was keeping the compressor from cycling correctly. It was a much less expensive fix than either compressor or a new refrigerator. And, Favio was friendly, helpful and efficient. I will certainly call them first with any other appliance issue I have. read more

My first review would've been 5 stars!! I had several appliances repaired & was very satisfied. BUT my dishwasher has been having the same issues again, literally 2 months after the repair, I called to request a follow up appointment. I left a message. Waited. Nothing. I called again, no return phone call. I got busy with life, but then reached out several more times. I get the voice mail and no return phone call. I guess my warranty will run out before I hear from them, IF I ever do. I'm very disappointed bc as I said we had 3 appliances repaired!!!! I gave 1 star bc the repair was great. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. They put the customer first and operate a very fair business. I live in West Houston, and I've used I Fix Appliances 3 maybe 4 times in past 6 or so years at two different homes. Once for a clothes drier, at least once maybe twice for 2 different washing machines, and most recently for the microwave in our combined wall oven / microwave. I had a dishwasher repaired recently by James. He was good but he didn't quite complete the labor the same day. He made me clean the drain cup and some other filter, which was Labor for me! Yet I paid him for Labor. He also said to call him back and he could stop by and put those 2 parts back in my dishwasher. Next day called and didn't get a return call from his office or from him! I had to install it myself. Not professional to make a woman my age 58 years old do any damn labor! read more

Good communication is key when doing business online. I schedule repairs and communicate online with businesses by using text rather than phone. I never had had problems before, especially as bad as the communication mishap I experienced with this business. When you ask someone a question by text, it's natural to expect a reply instead of silence. You don't expect the reply or receipt to end up in the cloud instead of reaching you where you started communication (text in my case), or* they let you know if they will use a different method. The person sent the receipt elsewhere, an email in the cloud I never gave nor use, and proceeded to communicate only with my husband instead of with me, who was the one who had initiated contact and was requesting follow-up (even my husband wondered why he was contacting him still, instead of me who was the one asking and waiting for a response). I therefore will avoid Ifix Appliances Houston altogether, regardless of contractor. read more

I have used iFix in the past with success, however, it seems the pandemic has greatly affected their quality of service. December 2020, I called for dryer repair. Buck came out and said he would need to order parts. I called him and texted him and his response was always that he had to check on the parts then just never responded to me. I called another repair company who looked up my dryer and said no parts were available and because of the pandemic and he didn't know when they would be available and my best bet would be to get a new dryer and gave me recommendations for brands. November 2021, I gave iFix another chance and called for refrigerator repair. Alex came out and said he could order the part and it shouldn't take long for it to come in. I reached out to him and he never responded. I called their main number and the lady said the parts were in stock and either she or Alex would call me back to schedule the repair. Never heard back from anyone. If you can get them to come out and come back to repair then you're lucky. I am disappointed at how they chose to treat this now former customer. read more

Had someone come out to my house to look at my fridge. The consultation was prompt and very professional, and I did not have to pay anything as they were going to order parts for a repair. The issues came afterwards, as they were supposed to call me once the part came in. After waiting for weeks I checked in with them. They said they were going to need to check with the owner and get back with me. I waited a few more days and tried to call again and got no answer. I decided to help my parents find a place to help them fix their fridge. I am NO longer living in Houston,residing in the Bay Area, and was able to find them thanks to Yelp! The owner and staff from I Fix Appliances were very good with communicating between myself and my family in Houston. Quick response time through Yelp! and via text message with my sister. Why call when you can just send a message/text? A ++ for being tech savvy. Anyways, reasonable price for the repair and the tech came out and fixed my parent's fridge in less than an hour. -When I was initially assigned a technician, I provided him with the model of my appliance and exactly the repair that was needed (replacing a door and re-securing w/d cover). He said he'd look into getting the part prior to the appointment. I was provided a two-hour time window (9-11am). The technician showed up almost an hour after the allotted time window (without the part). I had to contact him to get an ETA otherwise I would have continued to wait. He finally arrived 3 hours after the initial time. and said he'd promptly send an estimate. Despite my constant requests (and a response saying I'd get it soon), I never received an estimate. After posting this review originally, I was contacted by the company owner who offered to complete the work (no charge for labor) as long as I covered the parts (and I removed this review to give them a chance to make it right). The owner reached out again (a few weeks later) and a time was scheduled. However we agreed to cancel, due to the weather. Once I tried to reschedule, I was unable to get a response and get the service rescheduled. I was no longer able to wait for the back and forth as I needed to get the repair done ASAP. I ended up going with Sears Appliance Repair. Within the same day, I was able to get an appointment (same day), get my appliances functional, replacement part ordered, and follow-up appointment scheduled. I have been very disappointed with this experience given they had great reviews and I always try to show preference to small businesses (especially given the current economic situation with COVID-19). However, this company had plenty of changes to make it right (which is why I'm reposting this review). Moving on, I will not be using this company for either my home or rental properties in the future. read more

In addition to a fair price, he gave us a senior citizen discount as well as not charging us to unclog our refrigerator's the drain which was extra time and labor. The whole encounter, from beginning to end, was professional. The office was efficient. Jose came out the same day on time to diagnose the problem, which he explained clearly, and he then repaired the unit expertly. Further, he was very Covid conscious. He wore a mask. However, I had a step stool so he was able to work from the top without having to take it down. Whole job took less than 30 minutes and less than $85 parts included. Update! Alex came out to flush sediment from my dishwasher supply line, it wasn't flowing well after the freeze and I was afraid my old trustworthy KitchenAid was going out on me. Alex texted me before his imminent arrival, showed up MASKED, and was conscientious about proper distancing. The line was full of sediment, as was the valve. Alex flushed the line, then cleaned out the valve opening and put it all back together. My dishwasher stopped making the funny whirring noise that started about a year ago. I'm VERY happy to not have to replace it as it works great. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER APPLIANCE REPAIR SERVICE in Houston! I've referred iFix many, many times over 7 years now with nothing but glowing feedback. James, Alex and the folks at iFix are still THE BEST and have again earned my highest recommendation! Last time I had an appliance fixed, it was by Sears. After that experience I had to find an acceptable alternative. I Fix arrived as scheduled. They diagnosed our Maytag Dryer's problem quickly. The left to get the part. Two hours they returned with the parts and completed the repair within 15 minutes. I had two other appliances looked at and fiddled with. All to my satisfaction. Half the price of Sears on the Initial Charge. Very personable and professional Technicians.... I believe the price overall was fair. Not over priced. More like, you get what you pay for.
