One of the worst experiences I've had over thousands of restaurants I've been to across the globe. Let's be real, you are the one doing the cooking so the essence of this place is service and it failed horrifically at it. Not only did they not inform us before sitting us down that they will no longer bring out raw meats and veggies and all that 25 mins before closing time; but they also made sure to remind you over and over and over and over and over. The waitress came and shoved the bill to my face whilst I was eating and said I had to pay right now so they can close down. Mind you there were about 20 others in the restaurant. She insisted on us settling the bill right now right now, and got extremely rude, condescending and frankly speaking hostile. I wonder why we were the only table that got treated differently and perhaps unwanted there. If so they should had refused service from the get go. If you're a senior who doesn't worship at the Throne of the Smartphone, be sure to go with someone younger who does! You have to sign in on a tablet screen and give a phone number where they can text you when your table is ready. Don't text? Tell them and they'll look at you like you just crawled out of a cave. Once you get to a table someone will explain their strange menu. No one should have to explain the menu anywhere! There's All You Can Eat for $ 24.95 or $ 34.95, that's what has to be explained because neither the menu or website does. Once that's understood, if the first person (there were three of us) orders something from the Premium menu, EVERYONE at the table will be billed for the Premium $ 34.95 AYCE! It's assumed that everyone will be sharing that expensive stuff and the Manager explained that they can't police every table for cheaters. I ordered, and ate some items from the $24.95 menu (pork Bulgogi, Calamari and pork belly) but was charged $ 34.95. My Wife had the Hot Pot and NO AYCE BBq and was charged $ 39.95! $34.95 because of the AYCE assumption above + $ 5 for her hot pot. There's a $ 16.95 Chinese buffet and a much cheaper Japanese restaurant down the street that we'll go to next time! Oh, servers were very attentive and polite. Pleasant surroundings. No Senior discount, but they do have a whopping 3% Military discount. It dropped my $ 118 bill to $ 114! Most places do 10 or 20%. The food was okay, if you could keep track of when it was done. I'll go to the Japanese place mentioned above if I want Bulgogi next time. The Kimchee was like the one in a jar from WM, which I have to enhance with soy and fish sauce. I am not a huge fan of places where you cook yourself, but my family really enjoys them. My sister made reservations. I'm glad she did, as there is a time limit for how long you can stay. You have a choice between hot pot or Korean BBQ, but I think I remember you could do both, for an upcharge. (I think it would be way too much food/options, to do both.) There is a large bar of ready made food, including wontons, kimbap, different kimchees, and a bunch of options for making a dipping sauce for your culinary creations. I put together a delicious sauce. I hope that I remember the combination for future visits! We chose the KBBQ option. We mostly did the thin rolls of beef, but we did try some shrimp and pork belly. I appreciated that they came by and changed out plates, a few times. Unlike many places, we were given oil, so we could oil the pan. I think this helped food cook faster and not stick. We all way too much, but it was delicious. I think I would try the hot pot version, next time, as I like flavorful broths. I want to go back and get more of the kimchees and kimbap. Wow wow wow!!! Myself and the party I went with was blown away by I Grill. I utilized the Yelp Waitlist for the first time and I'm glad I did, it was soooo busy (we did go on a Saturday night) but, the waitlist feature made it a breeze when we arrived. It can be a bit overwhelming having never been there before- but our waiter did an excellent job explaining the process. You can choose between standard bbq or premium bbq, and you can add a hot pot if you like. You have an hour and a half time limit, and it's all you can eat- including sides! The only restriction you have is waiting 1 minute between meat orders (with 10 orders per minute)! As big meat lovers, we were in heaven. The meat was super high quality, and so were the sides! From steak and mushroom fried rice, crab rangoons, kimchi and sesame balls we were eating sooo good. They also have a build your own sauce bar, with suggested combos. I went a little crazy with the garlic, but the great thing is you can make as many as your heart desires! So worth the money, perfect amount of time, and such attentive staff. We went on Sunday during the soft opening weekend. 11:40am and there was already a line. To be honest it was kind of a mess right open, there wasn't any organization for check-in on there wait list tablet and the front entry way is so small and with the crowd, you really couldn't tell what you were suppose to do because people were standing around and not letting other people check in. There was an issue with parties with more that 2 getting seated ahead of others with just 2. This was brought up multiple times while we were waiting and heard people complaining. We didn't have to wait too long to be seated. We didn't get any utensils from the get go, it was over looked, we got our meat and no tongs to grill the meat. With all that being said and it being a soft opening, I would give it a 4.5 and round up to a five. It was a mess right at open, but once the flow with everyone being seated was set, everything went well from there. The sauce and little appetizers station had a long line at open because everyone was there, but once it died down, it was smooth. I'm not going to say it was the very best, but the food is really good. Our hot pot broths were tasty and the meat quality was good. You can order from your tablet on thr table and things do come out quickly enough. Everyone was nice when they came to check up on us or when they were bringing out of dishes. We ordered the B option for the premium dishes and added the $5 for hot pot. This is a cool little spot on this side of town and for the value and experience, it's worth it. Im from the Bay Area, so we have our fair share of these types of restaurants. But having one here is a good thing. Just be aware parking sucks here. Its in the same plaza area as the Salt Yard and iGrill is tucked in the corner where parking is super limited because of all the other businesses. We tried to come here Saturday night and saw the long line outside, but there was no where to park close by. I'm sure if we came an hour or two after opening where the staff found there Grove, it would be a better experience. That opening rush was hectic and people were complaining, rightfully so, but come on, what's and extra 5 mins going to do when's its all you can eat. Yes we will be back.. a tip would be expect a wait if you're looking to get in for dinner. My guess would be it's going to be super busy this month, with it just opening. As for the hot pot, I did the spicy base and a million meat and vegetables options. The mushrooms!!!! So many options. I'd really missed 'kings mushroom' since leaving Korea. I ate so many today. My husband and I have been here a number of times. When it first opened, it definitely was about an hour wait or longer. Now, the wait time has gone done significantly from what we noticed. It is nice that now you can join the waitlist ahead of time on Yelp based off of peak hours and your party size. Prior to this, you had to physically be at the restaurant to join the waitlist. Definitely recommend checking their Yelp page for the wait time! I like their buffet and sauce section as it has a good variety but there are times that I've gone and every time the buffet has something slightly different. Took my family here for their first time to try. We had a party of 14. I had made reservations for 12 on Yelp for 12:00 but we ended up being the first people in line before opening time anyway. When they opened, we were able to get two big tables next to each other to accommodate our big party. Service was good and fast. Even with 14 people, we got everything we ordered and it all came out quick. Food was delicious to everyone and everyone loved how they could eat their own hot pot however they wanted to. Came with my girlfriend for the first time, the wait wasn't bad at all, we sat at around 4:30 and were done by 6! Some of the portions are a little small but that's okay, it is an AYCE after all! Any dishes we found smaller in portion were just sent in as double orders. Ordering is done on your own as the customer, but if it's your first time it's best to tell the host or hostess, the entire staff is really good about it though "have we been here before?" Or "is this our first time?" Was asked constantly to each new table so it's very easy to get into and start ordering. The music is great, the vibe is more built around groups than ones or twos but it still works. Overall I would definitely come here again as we had a great time! It takes a second to take in the side bar but once you understand it, it's extremely straight forward. Self serve everything and about a 3-5 minute wait on things that need to be restocked. Staff are constantly swarming around to help and deliver food or take plates so it does make it seem VERY lively. Just don't wear hot clothes or jackets, you're going to be warm from the stove tops and eating so much! We got the AYCE KBBQ Premium choice and 2 Asahi 21oz beers for a total of $94. It was my parties first time trying Korean bbq and we informed the server as soon as we entered. I don't remember the servers name, but he was blonde and he explained the concept and rules very poorly and didn't seem confident in how the menu even worked. All the male servers never smiled when they asked how our table was or checked on us. Our induction grill cooked our food very slowly and the sauces caused char to build up on the grill when the temperature was increased.
