After running errands on a Saturday with my sister, we had worked up quite an appetite. We were pizza'd out, as that is something she has to get often for her picky two year old. We wanted to go somewhere close to her spot so we could get some carry out for her husband. Yummi House is right up the street, and we both had never been. When we walked in, we looked at each other and said, it smells good in here! LOL! Yeah, I know I said we were hungry, but that doesn't make it smell good! We browsed the paper to go menu nearby. They place is quant and cute. Also, very clean. Booths line up both sides of the dining room with table seating and chairs down the middle. Here's what we ordered: * Crab Angels (their name for crab rangoons) (4/5) * Eggs Rolls-veggie * Potstickers-chicken (5/5) * Oyster Beef (3.5/5) * House Special Fried Rice * Egg Foo Young-Pork (4/5) * Mapo Tofu (5/5) Everything was delicious and super fresh! My ratings above are on taste. Esthetically, everything looked amazing. I didn't have any of the egg rolls and house special fried rice, but I am sure they were good! I am bit of an egg foo young fanatic. I like to order it at any new Chinese place. Their egg foo young was made in way I had yet to experience. They served it with big egg only omelet on the bottom and the veggies and pork were stir fried with the gravy on top. First time I ever had it served that way, but it was delicious! Their Mapo was delightful, the tofu was soft but not too soft so it still kept its shape. The sauce was the perfect amount of spicy too. They Oyster Beef was beautifully served with a healthy amount of bok choy. They flavor was very light. I would have liked some heat or a lil more umami, but overall a good dish. We will be sure coming back to Yummi to try some other Chinese entree staples! I'll be looking forward to it. read more

I went here for a very quick lunch in the middle of the week and from the time I was greeted by the hostess and seated, to the time I was walking out the door was 35 minutes, extremely quick service. Plenty of seating and big booths and the food was delicious. They do not do a lunch buffet, but their lunch menu is really good. read more

My sister turned me on to this one day and it is now my favorite! I'm selective with Chinese food, so when I tried this place, I ended up ordering food to go so I could share with my mom and have it for later. It's a smal place, which I appreciate, and the mood energy is actually pretty homey. The hostess is really nice and knows us so she makes sure we are taken care of, as are the other customers. Then the food comes out- big plates with lots of food, and that's just for one item! Each item we ordered came out on a big plate with a mound of food! Yummi House is a Chinese food restaurant located in the Princess Jeane Shopping Center off Eubank. They offer carry out and dine in. They have 20 lunch specials, all of which are either $9 or $10. They come with the entree; egg drop soup or hot and sour soup, or wonton soup for $.50 extra; a chicken skewer; a cheese puff; and a choice of steamed rice or fried rice. The entrees I was craving weren't on the lunch special list. Instead, I got the orange peel chicken to go for $12.50. I additionally got a Sprite, for a total of $15 including tax (excluding tip). The orange peel chicken was listed as spicy on the menu, but the dish didn't have any heat whatsoever. The flavor was good, but I would have preferred more sauce to be included in the chicken to eat with the rice. The "fried rice" didn't contain any ingredients; I found one tiny piece of egg in the rice and it was slightly darker than steamed rice would have been, so technically maybe it was fried rice? Either steamed or "fried" rice is included in the entree, so I didn't pay more for the fried rice, but I wasn't impressed by it or the lack of ingredients. The lunch was ready very quickly, which is a positive for the business lunch crowd. It wasn't memorable in any way, and I likely wouldn't return knowing they cut corners on ingredients (like in the fried rice). read more

Very small place, with music playing. Lady was nice and I was the only customer. There is a sign that says they have changed their hours since they do not have workers. The place is clean, not like other places. Customers were confused thought they were still closed Egg drop soup is very good could use some of those fried worms . Had not been to Yummi House in a while. The service was good, and the ambiance is what I remember from the past visits. I ordered off of the Korean Menu and the chicken with red peppers was delicious. The Hot and Sour soup had just the right amount of heat for my palate. The only disappointment was the fried rice which was bland and did not have any egg or vegetables in it. My feeling is that the restaurant may have charged ownership since my last visit. read more

Tried out Yummi House a Chinese restaurant in ABQ for dinner one night. We got: medium hot & sour soup - we liked it. Enough for 2 people. Fried chicken he got w/ weird chicken pieces and lucky he got the sauce on the side. He thought it was too much batter and didn't like it that much. We've been been here to eat a lot of times and it's always been great, except the 2 last times we've been in the server brought us the 3 sauces they bring to the table more than half way empty. She'll give you nasty attitude if you ask for more sauce. We've always tipped her more than fair amount but this last time it's ridiculous. Her tip was what she charged us for the extra sauce. I don't mind paying extra for sauce, but if she told us with a fair attitude instead of rolling her eyes and her grunting doesnt help. After eating it fresh (take-out) and then again tonight as leftovers, I can say that they are one of our favorite Chinese restaurants in this city so far. Usually I find dishes too saucy or heavy at other places, but here it tastes more like something my mom would make at home- lighter, but still flavorful. We ordered: mapo tofu w/pork, chicken and broccoli, black bean noodles, and wonton soup. They were out of the chicken and cream corn soup this time, so I really want to try it next time, along with other things. I'll give it to ya; it was Yummi. Lol. We did the house special for 2 people. It's $15.50 a person and each person gets a cup of soup, 2 pc appetizer & an entire dish. Large portions were nice we had some too spare for leftovers! General tso chicken had a nice crisp breading which seems hard to find these days. Reason for 3 stars is a few small things that i felt were not quite deserving of the prestigious 4/5 star ratings. It seemed like it could use a deep cleaning, the fish tank had green moss growing on the glass & seemed a bit small for the 2 large fish inside. The sauce tray the waitress brought had spillage & hardly any sauces left in it from being used on other tables throughout the day without being cleaned or refilled. This little place hearkened back to the days of old...when my mom used to take me weekly a little Chinese place in Brooklyn. Our old neighborhood had an area on 8th Avenue that is now known as Little Hong Kong. Great old-school Asian markets, bakeries, restaurants. I miss it. Yummi House delivers on that charm. Convinced the hubs to try something new that I loved back in the day. Beef with oyster sauce. And it was just like I remembered. To be honest, I usually don't order beef or pork dishes when I'm trying a new Chinese restaurant for the first time...because it can be disappointingly tough or poor quality meats. But we had a tender rendition of the Beef with Oyster sauce, equally tended Roast Pork Chow Mein and fantastic Chicken with Garlic Sauce. All meats are quality and well-seasoned. Service was good. Made a point to tell owner that we really enjoyed everything and she was visibly pleased to hear it. We'll be back! read more

Nestled quietly in a plaza on Eubank lies Yummi House - a cozy establishment. Upon arriving, we were quickly seated and our drink orders taken. Upon review of the menu - I decided on the Happy Seafood platter. Not long after placing our order, our food arrived sizzling hot. As you can see from the pictures, the portions are hefty, easily shareable between two people. The service was great and our drinks were never empty. Korean family making great Asian fare in a strip mall. This was the big meal of the day visiting my high school buddy in the ABQ, and they did great. After the house app sampler, the tenderfoots ordered Chinese off the regular menu, and the lunch specials they had were huge. The samples I had were delicious. I ordered off the 'secret' Korean menu. For the 2-3 of you that might read some of my reviews, you know I love Jajangmyeon, a peasant dish from Korea. Theirs was fit for the aristocracy. Large chunks of beef, and meaty shrimp as well, which was (the shrimp) a complete first for me. They may have wrecked me for the dish hence forward. The only thing missing for me was Ban Chan with my meal. No biggie, because they're not advertised as a Korean joint. For those who like good service, these folks were quietly gracious, almost to the fawning point, and they were that way with every single patron in the dining area. I haven't been to this restaurant in a while, but I heard new owners had taken over so thought I would give it another go! I went with my family and we got the Mongolian Beef, KungPao Chicken, and Jjamppong. The taste of the Mongolian beef was pretty good, but hellooo onions (spicy rawish onions, that is). The dish was almost all onions and barely any beef! The KungPao Chicken was okay, but that Jjamppong... Not really sure what to think about that. I couldn't really put my finger on what it was suppose to taste like. Some sort if spicy noodle soup, but no resemblance of jjamppong. Maybe the restaurant just struggles with Korean style food since the kimchi was a bit off too? Overall, the place is okay. I may be back to try different dishes. read more

Finally came and got take out after our friends recommended we try this place out. Really thrilled to discover that there is a Chinese-Korean restaurant in town that serves jjajangmyun. Having moved from LA, I just figured we wouldn't a place here. Not as good as the jjajangmyun in California but DEFINITELY satisfied my craving. Will have to try the jjampong next time. Update: 7/14/15 I had to update and up my review to another star. Ok so I went back. Tried their Mongolian beef this time. I really enjoyed it. It wasn't spicy like it normally is, but I just asked for chili oil on the side. It also was on the sweeter side than what I'm used to, but it was still tasty & had a good flavor. I came in during lunch and the lunch menu came with a side of soup, chicken skewer and cream cheese wontons. My husband and I thought it was silly to call the wontons cheese, when all it seemed was fried wontons. But food was better this time and I'll probably be back and try other stuff on the menu. The waitress was on point and we had great service. Old review: Geez living in California really ruined my taste for Chinese. I ordered the sizzling rice that everyone kept raving about, I wasn't wowed. It was a little bland. The fried rice was even worse. It had no flavor, tasted just like plain old white rice. We were there since it was only place in Albuquerque that served Jja jang men, Jjang Fung, and Korean style sweet/sour pork. I will definitely revisit for Jja jang men but will order it with rice instead noodle. The noodle they used were wrong type of noodle. Same goes for Jjang Fung spicy seafood noodle soup. Their Korean style sweet / sour pork was better than PAIK'S noodle (Hong Kong Chinese 0410). BUT their jjang fung noodle was not remotely close to real one. Overall we enter the restaurant with my motto borrowed from the Inferno for Asian eatery in New Mexico, "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here" and was surprisingly enjoyed Korean-Chinese food. But one thing bothered me was that Owner (I think she was the owner of the restaurant) was semi-leaning against corner seat, playing ( or reading ) her smartphone. She was not acknowledging any customers that was coming in... She looked very sad ( or sad and tired ) and total concentrating at her smart phone screen... She need to get big sofa behind the kitchen and relax there, instead looking all sad and made me sad watching her looking sad front of customers who trying to have dinner. read more
