Nothing felt greasy, heavy or too salty. The flavors were balanced and very comforting. We ordered the pork bossam, kimchi pancake, and chicken kalguksu. The pork was tender and had a clean flavor that really let the quality of the meat come out. The kimchi pancake was topped with a poached egg which was interesting.... Personally, the poached egg addition wasn't really for me, but my friend loved it. The pancake itself was crispy flavorful. The chicken kalguksu was exactly what I want when I'm craving comforting and warm food at 11 PM after watching a musical. The broth was light but flavorful, and the noodles had a good chew. It felt homemade!! The ambience was very very cozy and nice. The interior is warm and cozy and intimate, it's great for a night with friends, or even a date night!! The spice lived up to its name, so I didn't eat very much. The best part was meat. Despite there being 6 of us, there was plenty to go around. I think you have the option to cook it yourself or have them cook it for you and we chose the latter. While I enjoyed it, I wish there was more space. Most of the space was taken up by the accompaniments that come with it (veggies, etc), so there was hardly any room to put anything else. Overall a solid option in the area if you don't want to wait for a long queue outside of the other popular spots.
