TL:DR: I was quoted $400 to replace an SSD and "change configuration settings". After refusing the outrageous price, I was still charged $129 for a very vague "diagnosis" (see attached image). When I picked up my PC, it wouldn't even power on, and Sina ghosted me. Thoroughly disappointed with the service I received from Sina and his "team". Don't be deceived by all the good reviews; he may be great for basic phone/computer repairs, but don't trust him with your $1000+ PC if you are looking for an advanced diagnosis and repair. I consider myself a computer enthusiast and built my own computer, though after a year of running mostly stable, my system started crashing very frequently. I tried to diagnose it myself for a while, but with my workload, I didn't find the time and lacked additional hardware to further troubleshoot the issue. I came to I Need A Techie after reading all the good reviews, hoping to interact with knowledgeable people with more testing equipment to help diagnose my issue. After dropping my PC off at the front desk of a corporate office, my PC was taken to an undisclosed location to be worked on. This is not advertised anywhere, and was the first of many surprises I encountered. Through my phone call interactions with Sina, every time I actually spoke with him (~once per day), he seemed increasingly annoyed. I would only call during business hours, yet it still took me calling at multiple different times throughout the day for him to pick up. While he originally said he would have a diagnosis done in 1-2 days, after nagging him every day, he got back to me with a very vague answer after a whole week! Sina claimed that there was something wrong with my SSD and that it needed to be upgraded to a higher capacity and some Windows and Nvidia graphics settings needed to be "configured to its full performance". To carry out these changes, he quoted me $400 (more than 35% of the entire cost of my PC). I refused to pay that much for his suggested repairs, but was still stuck paying the $129 "diagnosis" fee (which he told me about upfront at least). For $129, I expected to at least get a more detailed diagnostics report entailing the details of the various tests that they performed and their outcomes. Instead, he told me that they usually don't write ANYTHING down, and he acted like he was doing me a special favor by sending the "details" in the email (see attached image). I thought it couldn't get worse, but after I picked up my PC (which I couldn't test before I picked it up because it was in a corporate office building) and took it home, it wouldn't even power on. I tried calling and texting Sina, but never got any reply. He got his money and didn't want anything to do with his annoying customer. I usually never write reviews for anything, but I'm sharing a detailed account of my experience in hopes that whoever reads this can avoid getting scammed. I had a Dell laptop that needed a hard drive / Windows reinstall. I sent out a quick request to several computer repair services on yelp for a quick quote and I Need a Techie responded within 5 minutes. Sina was able to provide a quick quote after I quickly described the problem and he seemed like he knew what the issue was as opposed to some of the other servicers who said they wouldn't be able to give me a quote unless I brought my laptop in. I didn't have any time to waste so I appreciated the quick quote. He also mentioned that if he was not able to fix my problem he would only charge me $69 for the diagnosis fee. I met Sina and handed him my laptop. He said he'll be able to get it back to me by the next day. The next day, Sina called me and said that the hard drive actually needed to be replaced. With my permission, he ordered the hard drive, and said he'll get the computer repaired once it arrives. It took a few days for the hard drive to be delivered, but once it did, Sina fixed it within a few hours, and he delivered my repaired and practically brand new laptop to my home. Laptop works great and is really fast. Communication was great, service was quick (albeit slow delivery time for hard drive to arrive). Sina was very friendly and trustworthy. My desktop computer was running very slow. I contemplated buying a new one. One day, as I often do, I rebooted the computer. After that I could not open the Excel and word application.
