I originally drafted a 5-star review for my previous experience with this company (mid January 2014) to print business cards with one-day notice. I emailed them and I got a reply from "Steve Palsa". Then the next replies were from "Minuteman Press Dublin" and James handed my order via email. James was awesome, fast, and efficient. He assured me via email that my request to print 100 business cards would be ready in 10-15 minutes. I got to their store 20 minutes later. The cards were ready. The bill was $46. I was grateful. Because of that experience, I called two days ago to print new sets of business cards ASAP at 100 pieces each. This time, the experience was not pleasant at all. First, when I called to say I dealt with a certain Steve via email three weeks ago (at this time I could not remember James' name) and I would like to have my cards printed again, Kris said there's no Steve in the store. I said, but someone replied to my email using the name Steve Palsa. She insisted that there's no Steve there. OK, fine, but I thought they should have updated that so as not to get customers confused. Second, Kris said they don't print 100 pieces -- their minimum is 250 pieces and they don't process business cards printing that fast. I said, but I printed 100 pieces before with James and he did it in 15 minutes. I have the receipt and our email conversation. She insisted that the minimum is only 250 pieces and offered to do 125 pieces for each business card. She quoted $55. I sent the layout, they replied with the proof, I approved the proof. They said the cards will be ready by noon. When I got there at noon, they haven't even printed the cards. Kris said I should go back after 20-25 minutes. OK, fine. I drove around the area and had lunch. I came back exactly 30 minutes later. When I got there, they only printed one set of cards (the other not yet printed) so Kris asked me to wait for another 15 minutes. Upset, I said, "But you said that I should go back 20-25 minutes and the cards will be ready but they're not." What happened next became one of my worst customer service experience since I migrated to the U.S. in 2009. Kris was preachy in the way she explained the delay. She reasoned that I couldn't expect her to attend to my job order if there are customers lining up in the store and when her phone's ringing, and that she cannot do it all by herself. She then reminded me again that they don't normally do rush printing so I'd get by for the day. I said, I understand, but she could have called me about the delay as they have my number. She said she didn't even know 25 minutes had passed by already. I got more upset with her line of reasoning and told her that she could have asked help from her staff. She continued to talk but all she said became a blur to me. Finally, I said that I was unhappy and I though it was rude the way she talked to me. I was visibly upset so she apologized but only after I called her out on her rudeness. If I didn't, I don't think should would have even bothered to offer an apology. She also gave me a 50% discount and I only paid $27.50. I wanted to pay in full but she insisted that I only pay half off. I thanked her for that. Despite her apology, my day was ruined because of that transaction. I told some friends that I had a horrible experience her store. I usually let a few days pass before I write a Yelp review. Today, I walked into a store that has one of the most friendly, polite, and helpful staff anywhere in the the Bay Area. The treatment that I got there made me realize that I shouldn't go back to Minuteman Press anymore, and the way Kris treated me as a repeat customer deserves a zero star, but Yelp doesn't have that option. So, the one star is for James and my previous experience with him. To summarize, the zero star is for: 1. BAD customer service from Kris. She was rude and she admitted it. I am not asking for superstar treatment, just don't be rude to me especially when I am giving you my business. 2. For Kris' not knowing her store's policies. How can you tell me you don't print 100 pieces ASAP when your staff did it for me before? You have that transaction in your records. 3. For insisting there's no Steve Palsa working at the store. Who then is the Steve Palsa that sent the email? Am I making that name up? You are the business owner, you should know who sends emails from your business email. 4. VERY POOR time management skills from Kris. When you told me to go back after 20-25 minutes for my business cards, it was fine by me. But when my cards were not even printed when I came back and you asked me to wait another 15 minutes, that was not OK. Needless to say, I will never go back to this store even though I said I will. read more

Its very expensive compared to the online services i have used in the past but these guys are professionals and the quality is top shelf. Lost one star for the cost. Very disappointed in the lack of response from Kris Palsa. I went into the shop to personally meet the owner and see about creating a consistent brand for my real estate marketing. I requested a quote on a customized magnet, letterhead and envelop. I was told I would have the quote the following day. I followed-up via email 3 business days later, no response. I again followed-up 5 days later, again no email reply. I have called twice now and spoken with others in the shop who have taken my name and phone number and said they would have Kris contact me. It has been over two weeks now and I have yet to get any response from Kris. Needless to say, I will seek another vendor for my marketing needs. read more
